Make Space for The Creator in Yourself!

527.02This is the meaning of the words in The Zohar (Tikkunim): “Invert Ratzon [desire] and you will find Tzinor [pipeline]…” It means that the pipeline is opposite to the desire for it compels its desire and does the opposite of what it wants.

When we discuss the vessel in general, meaning the vessel and the screen together, we define it by the name “pipeline.” When discussing the light, the vessel, and the screen together, meaning the light that is clothed in the measure of the pipeline, it is defined by the name “line,” and when we discuss a vessel in which there is no screen, we define it by the name “circle” (Baal HaSulam, “The Study of the Ten Sefirot).

Malchut, the creation, the desire to enjoy, acquires the properties of bestowal within itself due to all kinds of requests, prayers, and demands. These new properties of bestowal combine with its natural property of receiving; from this combination of the two opposites—the desire to enjoy and the intention to bestow clothed in it—a new vessel (Kli) is born. The desire to receive takes the form of bestowal, and in the form of such bestowal, the connection between the fourth stage and the root, creation and the Creator, is revealed.

Everything happens inside creation. In that round sphere (Igul) that existed before, a line (Kav) now stretches. In other words, we see how the creation frees up a space within itself where the Creator can enter. It creates this place out of its new, empty desire it develops!

This is not the desire it received from above, from the Creator, because then it would have been the desire to enjoy, the fourth stage itself, which wants to fill itself. But creation adds new desires to all those in it from nature to reveal the properties of bestowal. When this property of bestowal comes to a person, there is already a place where it can clothe itself and exist.

This is how the Creator clothes Himself in creation, and we reveal Him. That is why He is called the Creator (Bo-Reh), which means “come and see.”

In this manifestation of the Creator, we reveal a certain order, a connection between us called ten Sefirot. The first Sefira, Keter, is the Creator, the last is creation, Malchut, and the intermediate Sefirot are relations between them in both directions: from Keter to Malchut and from Malchut to Keter.

In these Sefirot, there are also direct (Yeshar) channels of connection between the Creator and creation, and round Sefirot (Igulim), also a connection, but one that creation cannot yet realize on its own, feeling it only in one direction, from the Creator to itself. The guest feels that the host wants to give him almost the entire world of infinity in addition to what he received in a narrow tube, like a thin ray of light (line). However, the guest cannot yet accept this infinity and feels it is a surrounding light.

So, there is a line, that is, a pipe filled with light, like a cave which, when filled with water (the light of Hassadim), is called a well. All the light is revealed inside this tube, which is called a line.

Everything else remains surrounding for now, like round vessels (Kelim) and round lights.

Work with What the Creator Sends

282.02Question: Can we say that the Kli (vessel) of a ten becomes included in an even greater Kli?

Answer: Undoubtedly. All Kelim (vessels) are included within one another.

Question: So does that mean the ten itself shouldn’t really exist separately, but should merge into others?

Answer: Don’t dictate what “should” be! From what you feel, you must understand that this is what the Creator is sending you, and that is what you must work with.

An Honorable Kinship with Adam

929Adam HaRishon (the first man) is only called by a name that confuses us and makes us think that we are similar to him, because we are also called people. But this is a spiritual Partzuf (system of bestowal) with which we have no connection yet, not a single point of contact.

To the extent that I acquire the desire to enjoy for the sake of bestowal, I will begin to integrate into this system. But it will not be the “I” that I perceive myself to be today, not my physical body and not my personality. This is a completely new desire, a new intention, perception, and sensation; everything is new.

Therefore, don’t yet think that you belong to the spiritual Partzuf of Adam HaRishon. Adam HaRishon is a construct of a corrected soul. And if I am in a state of bestowal to my neighbor, I adopt his desires and work with them in practice, I ultimately build the Partzuf of Adam HaRishon around me.

But if I have no desire to bestow upon my neighbor, I lack the material to create this Partzuf. I have to create an intention of bestowal over my material (desires), process it, organize it, divide it into Rosh, Toch, and Sof (spiritual head, body, and end), work with intentions, plan, and act.

If I shape myself in this way, I will become a part of Adam HaRishon, and I will be called “man” (Ben Adam, son of Adam). In the meantime, I have no connection with him.

Adam HaRishon’s body is the desires of all souls. If I want to become a part of Adam (and each of us ultimately must do this), I need to include the desires of others from all over the world and begin to fulfill them.

The Difference Between Lights and the Light of Infinity

243.05Question: The Igulim (circles) do not dissolve in the upper light due to the screen formed by Kav.

Why do we say that Igulim come first and then Kav (straight line)? Does this mean that without the Kav we would not be able to distinguish the Igulim?

Answer: The upper light comes first in the form of an Igul (circle) because this is the closest thing the light in the ten Sefirot has compared to the light of infinity.

There is no variation in infinity. But here there is already a difference.

Formation of the Rosh Partzuf

232.08Question: How is the desire formed in the Rosh (head) to receive light in the seven lower Sefirot?

Answer: When the light passes through the Sefira of the Rosh, it forms within the Rosh both this light and the Rosh itself. It turns out that the light assumes the qualities of the Sefirot de Yosher or the Sefirot de Rosh, and then enters the body of the Partzuf.

Question: What does the empty space between Igulim and Yosher mean?

Answer: The empty space signifies Sefirot de Igulim or Sefirot de Yosher that are unfilled with light either due to the absence of a screen (Masach), or because the Partzuf ends there.

Questions about Spiritual Work—263

281.02Question: What is the combination of the ten Sefirot de Igulim and the ten Sefirot de Yosher?

Answer: It is their mutual expansion; the ten Sefirot de Yosher spread within the ten Sefirot de Igulim.

Question: In the Rosh (head) there is the light of the entire degree, and the seven lower Sefirot are filled according to the screen (Masach). The decision about this process is made by Malchut de Malchut. But does the Rosh itself not yet perform independent calculations?

Answer: Everything is determined by Malchut de Rosh.

Question: Does the quality of bestowal arise at the moment of restriction (Tzimtzum)?

Answer: Yes, bestowal manifests in the Kli when the Kli is in a state of restriction.

Question: Are the ten Sefirot de Igulim in the world of Adam Kadmon the initial foundation of the screen from the side of the Kli?

Answer: Yes.
