Question: If a person perceives pleasure egoistically, like a harmful habit he can’t get rid of, and he suffers from the need to enjoy for himself and wants to get rid of this suffering, is this still aimed at his own benefit in order to ease his own suffering?

Answer: It all depends on the intention. Why do I want to get rid of receiving? Is it to make me feel nicer, pleasant, warmer, or more comfortable? Or do I want to stop receiving to be closer to the Creator?

And here, too, there are several questions. How egoistic is your desire to get closer to the Creator? Maybe you genuinely want to pay attention to Him and at the same time a favor.
