The Past Does Not Exist
Comment: You claim that everything that was in the past, all of history, everything we see, as if never existed. But I look at old ruins and see that they seem so real that I cannot say they never existed.
My Response: Everything is genuine indeed! But all of this is within your awareness! This is what “genuine in my mind” and “genuine in my sensation” mean.
Question: But did it exist?
Answer: There is no such thing as “it existed or not.” Time does not exist at all. There is an objective reality given to us in our sensations. It turns out that reality is given to us in our sensations. Marxists put it correctly. No matter how you look at it, they were truly right. And Kabbalah supports this view. Moreover, it has been saying this for thousands of years!
Question: How should I relate to this? Why are people so fascinated by history, historical films, and historical events?
Answer: Because it all seems to be about us! People don’t really want to know about the present because it is very limited. It is always concerned more about the past or the future. The present is just a moment. Life is a moment between the past and the future. Therefore, we exist between the past and the future, and we’re interested in it.
The past is interesting because it defines the future. The past itself is interesting in the future: “Where am I from? Why me? Who am I?” This all speaks about me personally, about things I do not know because it seems I was not there then. But all of it relates to me.
In other words, if I want to understand something about myself today, I can better understand it if I knew where I came from, what defines me, who made me, who has been nurturing me for thousands of years, where, and so on. Therefore, people are interested, society is interested, every country is interested in its past, either to hide it or to reveal it (which is already politics).
The future is also unknown to anyone. Naturally, it is interesting. The present is transient. It consists of the past and the future.
But Kabbalah does not speak of time at all. It claims that time itself does not exist, and there is only the past and the future, which also do not exist just like the present. That is, I feel all of this.
But objectively, outside of me, there is no time, no sensations, no events. There is only one reality—the creation completely filled by the Creator. And this creation gradually undergoes internal changes in the revelation of the Creator.
Gradual revelation of the Creator to His creation is the course of all that exists. Moreover, this gradual revelation occurs within the creation and nowhere else.
It is divided into several stages. One of the stages is the unconscious revelation of the Creator when a a peron appears and unconsciously develops on the earth.
The next stage is when in our time, a person begins to work with this and can consciously reveal the Creator. He is pushed to this by his state, and Kabbalah helps him in this.
