Striving for Contact with the Creator
Question: There is a sense that sacrifice is a high state one must merit to attain contact with the Creator. But since we do not yet have that contact, how should we act? With reason, or perhaps by “playing” at that state?
Answer: You should direct yourself toward what is called sacrifice, or devotion of the soul (Mesirut Nefesh). By striving for contact with the Creator, you increasingly reveal your inner Kli, and want the Creator to fill it. You will yearn for Him and draw closer to Him precisely by opening yourself to sacrifice.
We are in a borderline state, and I hope this will become clear very soon.
