On the spiritual path, we always strive to come close to a state we do not know and we do not yet feel. We have no data for it, no Reshimot.

When the worlds descended from top to bottom, they had Reshimot, and all Partzufim and degrees descended in sequence, according to these data. But when we go from bottom-up, we do not know where we are going.

Therefore, we need to annul and connect with our friends in order to raise a prayer and attract the reflected light, which will bring us to a new state. We do not build the steps ourselves. We only need to know how to annul ourselves with respect to the next step, and then it will clothe on us.
