  1. Thank you for sharing a bit about Hoshana Rabbah. I have never heard of it before.

In the lecture, I think it’s a fair question to ask why it seems to those who study that others get on with their daily lives without troubles or cares, while those who study seem to have it the other way around. I was once asking myself the same thing, and this does come up. However, when we really look closely at what seems like happiness, it isn’t. We can go off, forget studying and go live lives like that too. But, we know living a life without meaning, and without an authentic connection to the Creator through connecting with others, isn’t really a life better off having. So, we can’t say they are truly not missing out on a good life. When we connect with the Creator through bestowal, the sensation of happiness is a totally different fullfillment than buying a new car or not worrying about having to give anything to anyone else/not worrying about things being taken from us. And, those who are not aware are still going through the process of development, through the laws of nature. If we study it closely we will see this happening. So, when it seems like we are studying and others are off having the “good life” without a care in the world. Things aren’t really as they appear to our egoes.
