Cursory Thoughts On Shamati, “The Essence Of One’s Work”

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe essence of one’s work is to reach the recognition of the importance of the Light, the property of bestowal, that is opposite to us, our desire, and all the pleasures we can think of today. I have to change my system of values: to reach a state when I will value like diamonds all that is completely unimportant to me today, totally opposite to all my views, and seems to me like waste, and I will treat as waste all that my ego values like diamonds.

I have to change their significance completely. After all, today I evaluate everything in my receiving desires, according to what’s important to them. But I transform them into the desires of bestowal, to what is of value to them. This is man’s main work: to realize the importance of bestowal.
