Question: Some people say that Masonic Lodges were formed with the active participation of Kabbalistic groups. Who are the Freemasons and are they connected to the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: Freemasons are completely unaffiliated with the wisdom of Kabbalah. These are people who act in special relationships among themselves and they build a small closed society in their connection. It has nothing to do with Judaism, religion, and all the more so with the wisdom of Kabbalah. They believe that by performing certain rituals, they can impact their conditions of the conditions of those around them.

I met with Freemasons in Rome and gave them lectures. They invited me to their ceremonies and explained what they meant, but I would not say that their rituals were interesting. It is very difficult to impress me because Kabbalah puts a person on such a level that after that there is nothing to be impressed by.

Don’t look for anything mysterious in the world because whatever seems mysterious is only because we don’t know its nature. Be an absolute materialist!

The wisdom of Kabbalah is the study of the upper nature, not the physics of our world. This is actually how it approaches every phenomenon and this is how it explains it. Therefore, it is open to everyone and does not require any initiations, incantations, secret signs, or special dress.

Do you have a desire? Come and study the wisdom of Kabbalah. Afterward, everything will depend on you. You will manage to ascend above your egoistic nature and become Kabbalists, both men and women.

Question: Can a person develop the ability to foresee the future, extrasensory abilities, etc., by studying the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: Kabbalah does not develop foreseeing the future or any extrasensory abilities. A person has inner vision, but it has nothing to do with such abilities.

There are psychics and clairvoyants who can perceive the future, but it has nothing to do with the wisdom of Kabbalah. They could be be total egoists, evil people. But as a rule, people who have extrasensory perceptions are inclined to good more than others, although they are far from attaining the qualities of love and bestowal.

These people simply have developed extrasensory perceptions, but anyone can develop them.

Question: Faith above reason is the fundamental concept in Kabbalah. But the concept of faith traditionally belongs to religions. What is faith in Kabbalah?

Answer: Faith is defined as the quality of bestowal in Kabbalah. This is not what is accepted in religions. All Kabbalistic terms originated several thousand years prior to the appearance of religions.

Jewish religion came into being 2,000 years ago. Before that, the Jews only had Kabbalah and people existed sensing two worlds simultaneously: our world and the upper world. Later on, they fell from sensing the upper world and remained sensing only our world, and what resulted became known as Judaism, religion.

The Jewish nation lost the condition of “Love your neighbor as yourself” and began to engage in the routine performance of the commandments – Mitzvot. From that, Christianity appeared with all of its branches and later on, Islam. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam do not belong to Kabbalah.

Kabbalah explores the upper world and brings a person to its revelation while living in this world. That is why in Kabbalah, there is no need to believe in anything. In Kabbalah, faith is called the quality of bestowal, the quality of influencing others.

Answer: Indeed, there is no connection between Kabbalah and the ordinary worldly interpretation of the Torah. After all, in truth, Kabbalah is the hidden, secret part of the Torah because a person cannot reveal it through his own qualities.

But when it reveals itself, a person sees that the Torah changes his senses and leads him to the perception of the upper world—the system of governing our world in order to change a human and through him to change our world, and not just to perform some kind of material actions. This is what the Torah speaks about.

The Torah is divided into the internal part (Kabbalah) and the external part, which talks about the fulfillment of some accepted conventions and actions, which is called “practical Judaism.”

Comment: As is known, many philosophers and Kabbalists mentioned that long ago the ancient Greeks visited Judea to learn from the Kabbalists. For example, the great ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras wrote: “Souls never die, but always on quitting one abode pass to another. All things change, nothing perishes. My Response: This is about reincarnation. I can not say whether he understood correctly what a soul is, but what he said is correct.

My teacher used to tell me that the human body is like a shirt, which one changes, but the soul remains the same.

Comment: Socrates wrote: “Just as you ought not to attempt to cure eyes without head or head without body, so you should not treat body without soul.”

My Response: In Kabbalah, by body, we mean desire. Our physical body is not taken into account; it is nothing more than an animal.

Comment: Aristotle said: “Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies.”

My Response: It’s beautifully said. My friend and I are one whole, we are separated only by animal bodies.

In Kabbalah, a friend means a person who is my partner in spiritual work. And everything that I wish to liken to the Creator, I give to him, and he gives it to me, and we exercise together how through each other we can become similar to the Creator. Then a field of mutual bestowal and love is formed between us, in which the Creator is revealed.

Question: Most of humanity is religious. They have their own impressions about the higher power, God, the Creator. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, what is the higher power and what is the fundamental difference?

Answer: Humanity has always feared something and has been afraid until today. It always tries to find some method of protection from the unexpected and cruel forces of nature.

The same is said about Abraham who was first a priest in ancient Babylonian and later discovered the higher power,  called nature or the Creator, as a singular and good force that doesn’t demand rituals and sacrifices. Based upon this discovery, he began to conduct research and clarification and eventually taught people as well.

That is how Kabbalistic language was formed; its foundations come from the first Kabbalist, Adam, who lived 5,777 years ago.

Since the wisdom of Kabbalah developed from Adam to Abraham and from Abraham to us, it expanded its conceptual system through four languages with which Kabbalists describe the upper world. Through these languages, we gradually begin to feel what the Kabbalists felt and described.
