Answers To Your Questions, Part 221

laitman_565.01Question: What is a soul?

Answer: A soul is a desire that is similar to the Creator, meaning a desire with an intention of bestowal and love. A soul doesn’t exist in anyone; a soul exists only when we create it from our egoism.

Question: Recently a desire has arisen in me to pray only for the purpose of thanksgiving by means of reading Psalms; “My soul, bless the Lord” (Psalms 104:1) and “My soul, praise the Lord!” (Psalms 146:1) is all I can say in prayer. Is this correct?

Answer: Look at the Psalms I shortened on my Twitter.

Laitman_630.2Question: In recent years my life has become dominated by depression and boring monotony. I no longer feel color in my life nor in the world.

Answer:  Kabbalah offers everyone the discovery of the upper world.

Question: A “troll” is pursuing me; he publishes terrible fabrications about me on the Internet under various names and is destroying my reputation. What should I do to be freed from this pursuer who remains anonymous behind many false names?

Answer: I personally don’t read anything about myself, neither good nor bad. I am engaged only in disseminating Kabbalah to the world, without feeling anything that people say about me, even though I am sure that anyone who does not understand Kabbalah curses me.

Laitman_177.06Question: What is a “moment” for the Creator? After all, it is said that the wrath of the Creator lasts for a moment, yet his kindness lasts for a lifetime.

Answer: The concept of a “moment” is explained in the Book of Psalms: “For His wrath lasts but a moment; life results from His favor” (Psalms 30:6). For the Creator, a moment is the time it takes the creature to reach full unity with Him.

Question: When you talk about people connecting into a single whole, do you mean uniting in the imaginary world or in the true spiritual world?

Answer: I mean unity of desires, so it doesn’t matter.

Question: Are all pleasures in our world the result of the Light?

Answer: The Light is what a person enjoys. A person may have good desires or bad desires—Klipot (shells). This doesn’t mean much in relation to our world because all of us in this world are in a state of absolute Tuma’a (impurity). The difference is only whether a person elicits discomfort or pain in another person, or provides him with happiness and pleasure.

Question: If space doesn’t exist, then can a Kabbalist move in space instantaneously while he is in a physical body?

Answer: We cannot move anywhere in the physical body. The physical body is just a physical body. The intent of the Kabbalist is to exit the world of bodies and enter the upper world, the world of forces.

Question: I am very afraid of death. What is going to happen next?

Answer: I promise you that there is nothing frightening about death and there is nothing to fear. All in all, this is psychological, like a little child who is afraid of an injection. There is no death. Don’t worry.

Question: Is it possible to resolve external wars by peaceful means through internal correction?

Answer: Certainly! Without a doubt! That is the purpose of Kabbalah.

Question: What is the origin of the creature, and what is his correct perception?

Answer: The origin of the creature is the Light. His correct perception is in constructing a reflection of the Light within the creature.

Question: Are all of us found in the imagination of the Creator, like characters in the imagination of filmmakers?

Answer: We cannot say in what form we are found in the imagination of the Creator; this is an intangible and incomprehensible state.

Answer: Attraction and repulsion depend on the yearning of one object to approach or distance itself from another based on their qualities.

Question: What is the meaning of “not moving”?

Answer: Not moving means not changing my qualities.

Question: If we sit together, unite, and discuss a spiritual concept, can we discover a spiritual place and move toward it?

Answer: I discover another place, another space, in my consciousness according to the similarity of my desire to the spiritual desire.

Question: In Kabbalah, we discern many worlds. How do they relate to our world?

Answer: They don’t. Our imaginary world exists in our imagination as a very primitive copy of the upper world.

Question: What are the general principles of the management of the Creator? How is He guided in the process of governing this world?

Answer: The Creator is guided by a single principle: bringing us to unending pleasure.

Question: If my spiritual self already exists in eternity, do I simply need to discover this for my current self?

Answer: You need to discover your similarity to the Creator. To the degree that you accomplish this, you and He become a single whole.

Question: How does a person find his teacher?

Answer: An auxiliary force called an “angel” exists that “takes you by the hand” and leads you to your teacher. There isn’t anything else.

Question: When did you acquire a Masach (screen)? Do you now control your desires?

Answer: I cannot answer this question. Don’t be envious. Everyone has his own time, place, efforts, and way, but the method is identical.

Question: What is the image of the Creator if He has no image?

Answer: The person creates an image of the Creator.

Question: Am I always a slave, dependent either on a Masach, a desire, or the Creator?

Answer: When a person begins to work on his desires, he is considered to be free.

How To Become A Messiah?

laitman_534Question from Facebook: You claim that the Messiah is a force and not that a person becomes it.

Answer: The Messiah (Mashiach) is a force, which with the qualities of bestowal and love draws us out of egoism.

A person who achieves the qualities of bestowal and love with the help of this force has made a complete inner correction. By attaining that level, he can also be called a Messiah.

Question: Wasn’t that what they called great Kabbalists, including the Ari, during their times?

Answer: Yes. In other words, it is a person who has a force assisting him to completely correct himself. But it doesn’t mean that given this, he is now also able to correct others because freedom of will remains and each must do this for himself.

Laitman_632.4Question: Schizophrenia is not an illness in the usual sense; rather, it is a conceptual model that is incompatible with our world. It involves feeling the vibrations of different forces that are not synchronized in any way with the perception of society.

There is an idea that such people can exist and interact normally if they integrate their consciousness into social processes. The question is, what will the main support for this be? What do schizophrenics and those who communicate with them need to take into account in order to come into synchrony and a correct interrelationship? How should we design a society to communicate with someone with schizophrenia through the right connection?

Answer: Everything is solved only by building a society according to the model that Moses built, a society that is composed of groups of ten people, hundreds, thousands, etc.

Why do I have to go through these awful, heavy states and beg someone for help?!

laitman_598Question: How do you and how do the people of Israel relate to the announcement that information about the lost family tree of the 12 tribes of Israel has appeared that is in accord with verses 7:4, 7:5, 7:6, 7:7, and 7:8 of “The Revelations of Saint John the Divine”?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah doesn’t deal with digging into the past. Instead, it engages with the future.

Question: I am studying the Hebrew language. They told us there that the names of the Creator are expressed in a distorted form out of humility toward Him. “Yod, Key, Vav, Key” instead of, “Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey”, “Shakai” instead of “Shaddai.” I don’t understand and don’t feel the kind of humility that is intended.

Answer: This is accepted. It gives more respect to the higher power.

laitman_571.04Question: What can I do so I will not be waiting for blows (illnesses, problems at work, in the family, and so forth), but will carry out all of the corrections and changes through my conscious personal choice, which I must do for maximal correction at every moment?

I don’t want to go against the desire of the Creator; on the contrary, at every moment I want to do everything that depends on me so that I will resemble the Light and connect with the Creator, even though various forms of suffering fall upon me constantly. Does this mean that I am doing something wrong?

In the wisdom of Kabbalah it is said that the purpose of all suffering is to bring a person closer to correction and the Creator. What must I do independently to carry out all the required corrections?

Answer: Find a group and push it to unite because that is the way you awaken the Ohr Makif (Surrounding Light) for the sake of revealing the Creator… And listen to the lessons!
