laitman_294.2Question: Why is the spiritual point located in the heart and not in the head?

Answer: The heart is called the general desire. Тhe desire specifically directed toward the Creator is called the point in the heart.

Question: If I stop wanting to receive from the Creator, will He stop giving?

Answer: If you stop asking, the Creator will stop giving. He will begin to tickle you with other alternative ways so that you will want to turn to Him.

Question: We meet once a week in the group. Is it possible to get together more often to advance faster?

Answer: I am very glad to hear that you are ready to meet more than once a week. Get ready! Our archive has a lot of materials: lectures, classes, etc. Use it. You have no idea what is there.

Question: What is the upper light? Is it an ambient light or something else?

Answer: The upper light is the property of bestowal and love that emanates from the Creator and builds the desire (creation), fills it, modifies it, and performs various actions with it in order to bring this desire to resemble Himself. In the end, the desire (creation) becomes absolutely identical to the light of the Creator.

Question: Can we call the connection between us the ability to feel the desire of another person?

Answer: No. This is not the ability to feel another person. I do not want to feel anyone at all, I only want to reveal the Creator, my connection with Him, and how He fulfills me.

Answers To Your Questions, Part 245

laitman_560Question: It is not enough just to look and see some facts from a new point of view in order to change one’s attitude to the world. A serious, significant change in the perception of the world is impossible through understanding and logical conviction.

This requires faith above reason. Such faith appears in an altered state of consciousness. Does Kabbalah have practical methods for controlling the state of consciousness?

Answer: Those changes in consciousness that we must achieve in order to feel the higher world are possible only under the influence of the upper light and cannot be replaced by any training!

“Is The U.S. Making A Mistake By Reopening The Economy So Soon?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Is the U.S. making a mistake by reopening the economy so soon?“
If anyone thinks that reopening the economy will start bringing back the same world we lived in before the coronavirus, then think again.

Letting many more businesses run will not mean that people will immediately go back to spending on all kinds of nonessential items again.

We will soon realize that society’s awareness of what is essential and nonessential in life has slightly risen, and thus many businesses dealing in nonessential goods and services will find themselves continuing to suffer even after being allowed to reopen.

We can expect a struggle, as the government will continue encouraging consumerism in order to oil the economy more and more against a generally growing distaste for it among society.

What I propose is that instead of fighting this losing battle of reigniting the consumerism we used to live in, governments will instead provide everyone involved in unsustainable businesses a new kind of work, one where they learn about human society’s growing interdependence, and how to realize this interdependence that drops down on us in a positive manner.

By doing so, they will receive an income that would cover their needs, and gradually grow into educators of how to enrich positive connection throughout society.

In other words, governments would do well to shift their focus away from reviving a consumerist economy, where wealth equates to success, to creating sustainable societies where people’s essential needs are covered in exchange for participating in the creation of a new society led by values of mutual consideration, responsibility and solidarity.

Success in the latter vision of society would be personal and social happiness, kindled through developing increasingly positive connections.

“What Are Some Of The Most Mind-Blowing Facts About Israel?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “What are some of the most mind-blowing facts about Israel?“

1. The word “Israel” stems from two words, “Yashar Kel,” which means “straight to God.”

2. The people of Israel first received their name as a group of people who gathered around Abraham around 3,800 years ago. Abraham taught them the method of how to love one another above the fierce social division running rampant in ancient Babylon, and by using the method of attaining the ability to love, they acquired the name “Israel” (“Yashar Kel” or “straight to the force of love, bestowal and connection,” which is synonymous to God).

3. The people of Israel had no biological connection to each other. They were originally a gathering of people from around ancient Babylon who felt that society was becoming increasingly divided. They wanted to understand why people were suffering so much, what is the meaning of life, and how people could unite above the social conflicts. After applying Abraham’s method, they received the name “the people of Israel.”

4. During the periods of the First and Second Temples, the people of Israel rose, fell, and then rose again in the attainment of love and unity above division. They prospered most when they experienced this spiritual form of unity. However, since the ruin of the Second Temple, they lost their attainment of the love and unity that glued them together above their divisiveness, and entered a period of exile and dispersion.

5. While in exile, the people of Israel have experienced many different forms of anti-Semitism. They have been blamed for murdering Jesus Christ, killing children and drinking their blood in the Middle Ages, causing the Black Death pandemic of the 14th century, killing Tsar Alexander II that ignited the pogroms of the Russian Empire against them, acting as internal traitors that led to Germany’s First World War defeat, and have been considered as money-and-power hungry conspirators who aim to rule the world.

6. As a Jewish state, despite the many contributions Israel brings to the world, including the Microsoft Windows operating system, the Pentium microprocessor, voice mail, biological pacemakers, cancer treatments using DNA nana-computation, stem-cell technology to regenerate heart tissue, pill-sized cameras for examining the small intestine, the first computerized diagnostic instrument for breast cancer detection, a heart pump synchronization device, as well as treatments for Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease, aircraft security systems, and ecologically, it was the only country in the world at the turn of the century that had more trees than in the previous century…

Israel endures heavy constant criticism.

Israel is treated as the world’s Jew.

In a modern context of globalized anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism, Israel finds itself in a losing battle for a positive identity against multiple efforts aimed at its delegitimization and isolation: the application of international pressure in order to restrict its range of diplomatic and military response in the short term, and ultimately, to cripple it by delegitimizing its right to exist in the long term, stunting its ability to conduct diplomatic negotiations and act militarily.

The next three facts, however, are even more mindblowing…

7. The people of Israel experience increasing anti-Semitism, and many people feel the people of Israel as the root of their problems, due to their having once attained love and unity above division, and then having lost that sensation. Since the people of Israel were established not on biological connections, like other nations, but on an idea of love and unity above all differences, then their own division rippled throughout the world, and the many problems people feel stemming from their division, they instinctively blame on the people of Israel.

8. Since the people of Israel’s disunity and division are felt as a cause for myriad problems in the world, they also hold a method to attain unity. If they implement the method of connection, like how they once did in the days of ancient Babylon, where Abraham guided them to unite above division, then anti-Semitism will not only become eliminated—it would invert to a positive form of support and encouragement for a people who spread a positive sensation of love and unity throughout the world.

9. The people of Israel’s role in the world is thus to unite (“love your neighbor as yourself”) above division (“love will cover all transgressions”) in order to spread love and unity to the world (to be “a light unto the nations”).

“What Are Some Ugly Truths Of Life?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “What are some ugly truths of life?“

While we innately feel that we want to change the world and change other people in order to improve the world, the ugly truth is that the only one who needs to change is myself.

Our desire to change the world and to change others stems from our intuitive egoistic perception of reality, where we want to self-benefit at the expense of others.

By wanting to change people and things around me, I essentially demand, “Give me something different to what I now have!”

However, true change is when I demand nothing of others and of the world, but that I demand to give to others from myself.

This is ugly to our very human egoistic nature, which we cannot escape, and which wants to invert anything it can in the world so that it can reap maximal benefit with minimal effort.

Each one of us feels ourselves to be the sole exceptional creation in existence. Our egoistic nature gives us all a feeling of uniqueness, an exclusive experience where it feels as if I alone exist, and everyone and everything else is secondary in importance to me.

Accordingly, we feel that if anyone should change, it should be others, not me.

However, the only way for the world around us to change is if we each change ourselves.

It’s great if I want to change the world. I just need to change myself so that changes in me influence the world.

This kind of change is doable. I can change myself at every moment, and by doing so, the world will change.

“Is “Kabbalah Mysticism” Just A Method Which States That The Human Mind Uses A Constant And Repetitious Pattern, When It Thinks About Any Subject?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Is “Kabbalah Mysticism” just a method which states that the human mind uses a constant and repetitious pattern, when it thinks about any subject?http://kofh2u.tripod.com/kofh/“

Kabbalah is not mysticism. It is a science that involves the attainment of the perception and sensation of the causal forces in our lives, while we’re alive in this world.

Regarding what Kabbalah states about the human mind, it relates to the human mind as a program existing below desire, and that the mind belongs to the subconscious.

Kabbalah has no engagement in the modus operandi of the brain as a calculator, nor in muscle memory, nor in any memory mechanisms. Its sole engagement is with the soul.

The desire, which precedes the mind, is the soul. It has no place in our corporeal body nor in our mind.

The desire was created by the Creator, which is a force of nature governing our reality. The desire is egoistic by nature, i.e., aimed solely at self-benefit, and with the help of the method of Kabbalah, we can invert the desire into its altruistic opposite, where it matches the same form as the Creator, a quality of love and giving.

By changing the intention upon the desire from self-benefit to benefiting others and everything and everyone outside of oneself, we then start feeling the causal forces in our lives, which Kabbalah calls “the upper world” or “spiritual world,” and we then start understanding why and how everything functions the way that it does.

Everything else related to matter, including the mind, is absent from Kabbalah study, and it is of no interest to Kabbalists. We are only interested in the pure desire, which is independent of any form of matter, and we explore and master it as such.

“What Is Kabbalah From A Perspective Of A Person Practicing It?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “What is Kabbalah from a perspective of a person practicing it?“

The wisdom of Kabbalah was made in order to guide us from our lives in this world to the attainment of the upper, spiritual world, and explains the absolute and fixed laws acting in both realities.

Using the wisdom of Kabbalah according to its intended purpose—bringing us attainment of the spiritual world—we gradually rise in our consciousness, perception and sensation of reality, eventually reaching, as Baal HaSulam described, the “exalted goal” of nothing less than the revelation of the Creator during our lifetime.

Who or what is the Creator?

The Creator is nature’s loftiest integral force, which includes the entirety of creation, everything that exists on its still, animate, vegetative and human levels.

When we understand how the Creator acts toward us, we can then understand the genuine causes of everything unfolding in our lives, and how to optimally respond to every situation in life.

The more we put the wisdom of Kabbalah to practice in our lives, the more we see exactly why and how we participate in creation, in nature.

In our era, more and more people feel the need for what the wisdom of Kabbalah provides, because as Kabbalists throughout history explained, specifically our era is the one when humanity would awaken en masse with questions about life’s meaning and purpose.

Our evolution is driving us all toward the revelation of the Creator. It is a process of accumulating suffering and deficiency. The wisdom of Kabbalah enters this process as a means to sweeten it, so that we don’t have to develop painfully, but increase our awareness of what is happening, and by doing so, experience the process much more enjoyably.

“What Are Some Photos Which Deserve Millions Of Likes?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “What are some photos which deserve millions of likes?“

We would be wise to promote photos and other media that show examples of love, unity, mutual consideration, support and encouragement above all differences, in order to positively influence humanity with such ideals.

The more we become influenced to want to love and positively connect to each other, coming closer to a sensation that we are all a single family, the more we would experienced improved social health, more happiness and confidence, less crime, anxiety, stress, depression, and many other negative phenomena in our lives.

This photo was taken at the 2008 World Kabbalah Convention in Tel Aviv, Israel. Each year, thousands of people gather at this convention from dozens of countries in order to unite above all differences, and by doing so, aim to become as a positive mini-model of humanity.

The method of connection (Kabbalah) starts from recognizing that we are egoistic by nature—we each by default consider self-benefit over benefiting others—and that this egoistic quality is the cause of all our problems.

Therefore, approaching love and unity is done not naively, but as a game: that we set a goal to positively connect above the innate division and differences we feel toward each other—not erasing those divisive sensations, but being aware of them and their source—and then acting out a social atmosphere where we each aim to mutually support, encourage and inspire each other to connect, and feel each other—ultimately, all of humanity—no less than we feel our own families and ourselves.

Playing such a game brings us closer to the fundamental laws of nature: laws of love, giving and connection. We thus awaken a positive influence from nature that helps us feel each other more closely, accelerating the pace of our development to feeling people who were as strangers, to feeling everyone as a single family.

laitman_963.1Question: We feel or try to feel what the Creator can do, we observe and analyze it. But what can the created being do? What does a Kabbalist feel when he can actually do something if he can do something at all?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah is the method of attaining the properties of the Creator by a person while still living in this world. One can be like the Creator to the extent that one attains the upper properties. This is what he can do. But it is his business whether he can do so. It depends on how much he devotes himself to it.

Question: What is the concept: “inner woman” in Kabbalah, and how can I use it?

Answer: It is your inner egoistic desire, which has been partially corrected. The altruistic part of this desire is called your “inner woman.”

Question: There is a statement in one of your articles: “Our egoistic desire is greater than our ego, greater than pride. After all, if it were the other way around, we would break and shatter to death, but we would not bow.” How is a desire different from the ego? Why is it greater and how does this save us from total shattering?

Answer: The desire to enjoy for my own sake is called the ego. This is our whole nature. Absolutely. There is nothing else in us. Only the desire to enjoy everything we can imagine as a source of pleasure.

Question: I am greatly confused about the mutual connection between the person and the Creator. It seems like some medieval religion.

Answer: It is not religion. The Creator is the general force of nature in which we exist, and it includes all physical, chemical, and all the other laws.

“Did God Give The Torah To Moses In Public? If So, Is There Solid Proof?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Did God give the Torah to Moses in public? If so, is there solid proof?“

It is only an allegorical statement. Do we really think that God or the Creator descended from heaven holding the Torah in His hands?

The Creator is a force of nature that connects harmoniously between all elements of reality.

Some people have more of an inclination to reveal this force, feeling questions about life’s meaning and purpose more succinctly than others, and also feeling attracted to a deeper connection with reality.

Those who feel such an attraction, and who find a method to develop it into a new revelation of reality become Kabbalists. They engage in its attainment and revelation, and it gradually becomes a science of how to discover the Creator.

The Creator is immaterial, and thus unattainable using physical and corporeal devices.

However, if we develop a force opposite to our egoistic nature, an altruistic force, then we will start feeling the Creator completely surrounding us.
