New Life #603 – Social Introspection

New Life #603 – Social Self Searching
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Summary

How should we relate with the growing incidence of expressions of hatred in Israel? What makes us a nation and why will only educating people to love others as themselves help us live in peace with one another?

It isn’t clear what all the commotion is about, after all hatred has been part of every aspect of our daily life in every sector of society. We are the worst because we have to set an example of love of others and we don’t do so.

If we don’t keep the basic rule of our nation of “love thy friend as thyself,” we are not considered Jews or the nation of Israel. We are in complete darkness today and we need to reset ourselves and redefine what it means to be Jewish.

We are in great trouble: there is no nation or State of Israel since there is no connection between us. We are advancing toward a point in which we will literally devour one another, as the prophets say. The whole Torah is only about “love thy friend as thyself,” period. This is also what the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us.

We need to start a general social educational process teaching love of others and set it as an example to the world: in schools, universities, workplaces, the media, for pensioners, for the unemployed, for families, for everyone. We should reach appoint in which the state doesn’t give anyone anything unless he studies what “love thy friend as thyself” means.

It is not the time for speaking nicely now, it is time to act! We should engage in what happens today so that it will not happen again tomorrow.

New Life #601 – The Search For Love

New Life #601 – The Search For Love
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

Everyone wants love, yet it seems that it is impossible to attain it. Love is connection between the Kli (vessel) and the Light. True love is that I fulfill the other and not myself. It is fulfilling him, not being fulfilled by him.

To achieve love, it is necessary to rise above our ego. This can be in couples or with friends.

“And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18): Just as nature created self-love in me, it is up to me to ask for it to build love in me. I want to love others without any personal interest.

“Love covereth all transgressions” (Proverbs 10:12): If a force comes and corrects you, you no longer see defects in others. We will not succeed in achieving true love in relationships as long as we don’t realize the general rule, “And you shall love your friend as yourself” in society.

It is necessary to seek love within us, not partners who are appropriate for what we are missing but the desire to love.

Love is built from concessions, not from each one coming with demands from the other. Love is enjoying concession. A person thinks that if he fulfills himself, if he loves himself, he will achieve happiness. This is erroneous, it is false. It is up to us to learn how to be fulfilled correctly, eternally, and perfectly. This will happen only through love of others.

New Life 526 – Changing My Life For The Better

New Life 526 – Changing My Life For The Better
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

The ego develops distance between us more and more. Everything that we develop turns against us. It is human nature to feel only oneself, to take what is good, to flee from what is bad. The ego leads us to more and more separation from everything that is not “me,” from all of the reality around me. Simultaneously, within the nature that surrounds us, everything is connected in a wonderful harmony. And only we are against nature.

It is up to us to replace the power of the ego with the power of connection, approach and giving. This can sound weird at first, but this is the development toward which nature is pushing us.

This change will be carried out in a society whose goal is to build connection, bestowal, and love, to build a true “paradise.” The Israeli society must take the lead in the process of correcting relationships between people, to provide an example. Being a “Light to the nations” means being the spiritual center of the world, the center of spirit and love.

New Life #609 – What Will Replace Cannabis?

New Life #609 – What Will Replace Cannabis?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

Supporting the use of drugs or being against it is merely a spiritual issue. Tranquility doesn’t provide an answer to the question of what we are living for, and so the only replacement for cannabis is spiritual development that provides an answer to the meaning of life.

When a person develops in spirituality, he can break through the border of this world and discover the upper world. There is method by which you can fill yourself unlimitedly, in a complete and eternal way, and that is the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The Upper Light brings us much more than the positive things people find in cannabis. By studying Kabbalah a person doesn’t calm himself, but opens himself to an upper consciousness.

We have desires for food, sex, family, money, honor, and knowledge, and existential questions arise later.

Kabbalah opens new desires in a person, new cells in his brain and heart, the actual upper reality. In contrast to all the methods man has developed, the wisdom of Kabbalah comes from knowing the upper mechanism.

New Life #607 – Relations Between Israel And The World

New Life #607 – Relations Between Israel And The World
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

Israel doesn’t depend on the United States or Russia; the truth is that they depend on it, as does the entire world. These powers and others, and in general all changes in the world, are designed to bring Israel closer to its historic role.

If Israel were to function correctly, the people of Israel would be on top, the entire world would respect us and would be happy to help us and learn from us. Only Israel can offer the world a method for unity among everyone above egoism, above the differences.

In the future, technology will solve our material concerns and we will engage in developing good relationships between us. Today the world hates Israel because we are not functioning correctly, and they explain that this is due to our attitude toward the Palestinians. Yet the inner truth is that they hate us because Israel is holding onto the “heavenly valve.” If abundance doesn’t come into the world through us, it is bad for everyone.

Specifically today, when every day reveals more corruption here, this is the time to investigate our roots. It is up to us to achieve connection between us until all of us feel that we are like a single body, like an improved family.

New Life 698 – Making A Living Without Having To Work

New Life 698 – Making A Living Without Having To Work
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

According to a new initiative in Finland and Switzerland, every citizen will be entitled to a basic salary without any conditions. This initiative shows that humanity is advancing toward a new attitude to money and to work in general.

The idea of wages may become irrelevant in the future as everyone will receive the same wages and only those whose work is really necessary will actually work, so instead of polluting nature by producing unnecessary products and by aggressive advertising, we will cease to be slaves and will live comfortably. This will happen when we stop chasing wealth that doesn’t lead to happiness and we will organize a life that is really good. And when technology frees most people from work, we will all learn how to have corrected relationships. The development of the ego will make us lose interest in consumerism and in being slaves to work as we are today.

Providing every citizen with minimum wages is destructive and will lead people to being indifferent and disconnected from reality since a person will not know how to fill his day. He will therefore need some guidance since otherwise he can go mad. Giving every citizen a basic salary unconditionally will create people who don’t want to work and who are unfit to work. What we should do is to bring everyone to a cultural-educational experiential framework.

New Life 697 – Laws Of Niddah And Purity

New Life 697 – Laws Of Niddah And Purity
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

We move from one phase to the next when correcting our ego and this is the reason that there is also a special cycle in nature. In this cycle there is the moon, the sun, and the earth, which are branches stemming from spiritual roots, from upper forces.

Once we were one soul and then we were shattered to pieces. Our correction is to connect with love. Every egoistic desire to receive that has not been corrected yet is called a woman, and a corrected desire is called a man, stemming from the Hebrew word to overcome. Different customs in our world are merely a replica of the spiritual states that we have to undergo in the correction of the ego.

Every monthly cycle symbolizes new egoistic desires that come up and demand their correction to bestowal. We count seven clean days after the monthly period, and then the desires are ready to couple with the Upper Light. In spirituality the blood during the monthly period symbolizes the revelation of the Dinim (judgments), which are difficult egoistic desires.

The impure blood and bathing in the Mikva symbolize the receiving of the Light of Hassadim after which it is possible to receive the Light of Hochma, the semen. A man’s soul that has developed from the semen develops in the womb and its nature is a desire to receive. One can receive only if he becomes a conductor, like a pipe, for others. If the Light identifies that a person is clogged, it doesn’t go through him.

The correction is to open one’s self with love. The corrected desire that opened itself for the Light to flow unto others is called a corrected woman in the coupling. Everyone is considered a woman first, and thanks to overcoming the ego, they become men. The seven clean days symbolize the corrected Lights, which are the forces to bestow and to love. The groom the bride is intended to couple with is the general force of love that fills all of reality. At the end, all the cycles and corrections reach the great coupling of the end of correction.

New Life 696 – Thank God That He Hasn’t Made Me A Woman

New Life 696 – Thank God That He Hasn’t Made Me A Woman
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Nature has created mankind as two different creatures, a man and a woman, and the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us about their spiritual roots. A man in spirituality is someone who overcomes his ego and a woman is the definition of the ego before it is corrected. When a man overcomes his ego and leaves the power of a woman he blesses the Creator “Thank God that He hasn’t made me a woman.” Everyone is obliged to correct his ego, man or woman, Jew or gentile.

A woman’s modesty is called the egoistic desire to receive that has not been corrected yet, and so it should be hidden. “A king’s daughter’s honor is concealed” means that the Upper Light can enter the corrected desire to receive. The place where the Creator is revealed is called Shechina or bride and the Light with regard to the vessel is called a groom.

Our customs are a kind of a theatrical play hinting as to what the spiritual commandments are that we need to perform. The custom of women covering their head, their hair that symbolizes storms, the egoistic thoughts that need to be covered before they are corrected, and a woman’s modesty in general symbolize the uncorrected desire to receive that needs to be covered, restricted, until it reaches the state of to receive in order to bestow. All the corporeal actions are only customs and not commandments, while the corrections of the desire are commandments, and the force that corrects the 613 egoistic desires inherent in us is called the Light that Reforms.

The Creator is the general force of reality and coupling with Him is when a person can bestow like He does. Then the Upper Light can enter the corrected desire like a groom that couples with the bride. The Light that enters the vessels is such a great pleasure that one can bear it only with the intention of in order to bestow.

New Life 549 – The Connection Between The Nation Of Israel And The State Of Israel

New Life 549 – The Connection Between The Nation Of Israel And The State Of Israel
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Abraham gathered people around the attributes of Hesed and the love of others and realized that the physical location for them is in the land of Israel.

The physical land of Israel has a spiritual root.  Everywhere on Earth where people sit down, they get progressively take the form of the geographical place.

The State of Israel couldn’t exist anywhere else but in the land of Israel.

We are not considered the nation of Israel yet. The nation of Israel is a group of people who are united as one. Our life here in Israel gives us a chance to build ourselves as the nation of Israel, to build love on top of all the differences between us.

Israel should be organized as one body that is led by wise men who will lead all the people to unity. We came here in the past as an escape from trouble and problems in the Diaspora, a Jewish haven. Today, all of us together have to turn into a nation!

The future Israel is a state in which everyone relates to others as members of his family and we all live in harmony.

New Life #608 – The Legalization Of Cannabis In Israel

New Life #608 – The Legalization Of Cannabis In Israel
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary:

Years ago I saw the legalization of cannabis coming. When the war against cigarettes began, I realized that it was in order to bring in cannabis. Governments, regimes, doctors, anyone who deals with the public, wants people to be more calm. But this process won’t work out so well since it is against the general plan of development and the goal of creation.

We know that there have always been drugs, but the problem today is that a person doesn’t feel that there is anything he can do in this world. After the desires for food, sex, family, money, honor, and knowledge, a desire to understand why I am alive awakens.

In ancient cultures, the use of cannabis was totally different than the way it is consumed today. The use of cannabis today stems from the feeling of emptiness. There is nothing to do in life and cannabis calms people and makes them sleepy. Soon we will feel it is not enough to relax a bit; we will feel we need to understand what we are living for in the first place.
