New Life #515 – The Wisdom Of Kabbalah: God And I, Part 1

New Life #515 – The Wisdom Of Kabbalah: God And I–Part 1
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Everyone is looking for God, but He is hidden, so humanity has developed many methods of how to find Him. On the whole, however, everyone has his own God, which is a sublime value that a person sees as the goal of his life.

Summary

When the desire to discover the meaning of life awakens in a person, he aspires for a personal connection with the upper force and begins to feel that there is an upper force that he wants to hear, understand and perceive. If a person truly wants to discover the upper force, he reaches a teacher and the method for revealing Him, and then he learns that the upper force seems to tell him: Do you want to reveal Me? You have to change.

There are many teachers in the world who direct people to all kinds of God. Personally, I was attracted to the wisdom of Kabbalah. Kabbalah teaches a person that it is possible to discover the upper force only through the law of equivalence of form, by resembling Him.

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches a person how to build the right connection with God without any fantasies or dreams. You simply discover that there is an upper force that controls everything and that everyone can get to know Him by changing his nature.

New Life #505 – The Search For Meaning In Daesh

New Life #505 – The Search For Meaning In Daesh
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Summary

Since the sixties, we see how young people began asking about the meaning of life, but nobody had an answer. The elites understood the necessity of somehow stopping the little man and began to develop a culture of leisure. Yet the question about the meaning of life still pecks away from within and doesn’t allow anyone to rest.

When youth join Daesh and other extremist groups, it is from a sense of lack of meaning in their lives. These terrible activities give them some kind of significance, meaning, and goal in life, that their lives are not so small and insignificant, and there is a reason to live.

There is a feeling among the younger generation of not understanding why their parents gave birth to them at all in such a terrible world. The era has permitted the hastening of awareness that everything is empty, secondary, and tasteless.

This acceleration leads to the goal, which is balance with nature. What is meaningful is love and bestowal to everyone, because in the world of tomorrow, people will be linked to each other consciously and willingly and not because they have no choice.

New Life 498 – How Do We Fight Islamic Terrorism?

New Life 498 – How Should We Fight The Islamic Terror?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

A wave of Islamic terror is washing Europe, shocking the world and hurting practically everyone: Muslims, Jews, and Christians. Europe is unsettled; there is a feeling that the ground is shaking and there is a terrible sense of instability and insecurity. Why is this happening and will it advance the world to a new place?

The current terror wave in Europe leaves no room for doubt, the world is advancing toward a new state of living under a growing existential threat. But if we try to understand its essence, we will discover that terrorism has a very simple goal, to rule. Once it is accepted, things quiet down and become tranquil and secure, and if it isn’t accepted, life becomes unbearable.

The Time of Islam

If we look at history, each of the three major religions had its era of flowering, prosperity, and success and then a gradual decline: initially with Judaism, then Christianity, and today Islam. Just as Christianity wanted to conquer the world in the past, so does Islam want to do today.

Until the State of Israel was founded, the Muslim part of the world was asleep for centuries. And just as the Jewish people began to resettle the land of Israel, around it, the Islamic center was developing and the Islamic awakening spread like wildfire sweeping the Muslim countries all over the world. The reason for this is that by existing and building our state, our nation, and due to the fact that we are supposed get closer to the correction of the world according to our method, the wisdom of Kabbalah, we spur a great resistance, both religious and non-religious, that is aimed primarily against Israel.

After the first uprising against Israel and the Jews, the Islamic aggression turned against the western world as we see today. According to the plan of correction, as a result of this war, both the Muslims and the Christians will feel that the reason for the conflict and for all their troubles and problems are the Jewish people, and then they will unite and begin to act together against us so that eventually their accusing finger will be pointed at us; we will always be guilty.

The Jews Are Both the Problem and the Solution

We do not have to engage with the Islamic problem; we only need to manage ourselves since the problems begin and end with us, or to be precise, with the connection between us. At the moment there is nothing we can do about it, but as soon as we begin to connect, the uniting force, the good, will spread all over the world and will give humanity a clear feeling of what is good, what is bad, and what kind of society we have to build. They will begin to see and realize that it is actually the connection between all of mankind that leads to global happiness and prosperity.

The whole world suffers because the Jews don’t set an example for the world as to how we should behave, how we should connect, and how we can reach a state of balance with the world. But if the Jewish people feel obliged to connect, to be as one man in one heart, the Light will flow through us to the whole world. In a couple of years all of humanity will understand that and will unite forces and turn to Israel, either in a nice and pleasant way or in a very bad way.

New Life #504 – Living Through Screens

New Life #504 –  Living Through Screens
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Summary

All of nature is one integrated system, and developing in this system requires our connection to each other, as if we were members of one family, but our egoism opposes and doesn’t want to truly connect to others. The era we live in is the era of the screen, and it brings with it a feeling that the whole world is in the palm of our hand, that we are connected to the whole world and that the world is connected to us.

But most of all, the screens reveal our nature. We become more direct, and behave without shame. The screens expose our true faces, our nature, our ego, and places a mirror in front of us.

It is true that we were also egoists 200 years ago, but then we covered it with false manners. Today, the Internet has dissolved all these games and unleashes all the evil in us and forces us to correct it and to truly connect with our environment.

We will soon realize that we have to connect to and to be part of the trend of integration. It will happen very soon.

New Life 492 – The Public And The Leadership: A Love Story

New Life 492 – The Public And The Leadership: A Love Story
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

Is the country’s leadership connected to the public or is there a total disconnect between the two? What is the right connection between the heads of state and the people that enables them to operate as one harmonious unit?

The stormy elections bring up a sad fact, those who lead the state or who want to reach high positions in government are detached from the public, from its desires and its needs. Many of us wonder how we have come to this extreme situation that is the source of so many problems and even to the total incompetence of central government services.

From a Family to A State

The most ancient unit of connections in society is the family. Thousands of years ago, every individual in the nuclear and extended family felt that all the other members of the family were part of him. This is how people lived for thousands of years, but because of changing circumstances, when the nations grew, people began to choose representatives that would manage them. Our desires grew and changed with time and accordingly humanity underwent different forms of governance: from slavery to monarchy to parliaments divided into many parts. But gradually a new problem emerged, a breach between the leadership and the public, which means that the head was no longer connected to the body…

In order for the body to operate properly, it has to be connected to the head somehow. In a political system the head is sometimes connected to the body and sometimes less so, sometimes it resists the body, and sometimes the body resists the head; instead of operating together, there is a gap between them.

Before each election, every party claims that it can be the head that will function better with the body in order to satisfy all the desires and deficiencies it feels, and that the essence of every party is to serve the whole body. But we all know the exact opposite happens the day after the elections. The leaders who are elected forget that man’s nature is basically egoistic

The Solution: The Head Should Serve the Body

In order for the leadership to operate harmoniously with the public, the heads of state should be people who maintain the relationship of “love thy friend as thyself.” They have to be detached from their personal interests, they have to put aside their desire for direct or indirect self-benefits while governing the people.

In a healthy body, the head has to receive the desires of the body and calculate how to fulfill them. In a healthy country the leaders have to perceive the desires of the people and implement them. The leaders themselves should have no desire other than this desire.

New Life 711 – What Women Want

New Life 711 – What Women Want
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

A man and woman are like plus and minus; they must eventually reach a balance, the correct connection between them; the man must give and the woman receives. She must want the right thing and he must fulfill this desire correctly. We cannot fulfill ourselves, only others, so the right connection between right and left is through finding the middle line between them.

In our day everyone is “out of order”; women want the incorrect fulfillment of false substitutes for their desires. The natural desire of a woman is first of all a family, but in the last century we have lost our direction regarding this matter. We have built an artificial world for ourselves in which life is difficult, the family unit is collapsing, and children are neglected.

The solution depends on an education for attaining the spiritual goal within relationships and family, as a gift that will uphold, “When husband and wife are worthy, the Shechina abides with them” (Sotah 17a). Fundamentally, a woman wants connection with the upper force through her husband. Throughout our history we developed through our desires until we felt an inclination for discovery of the inner essence, the supreme power, unconditional love.

The goal of alliance between partners is the discovery of the one supreme power that controls nature, our source, to which we must return to in unison. A woman wants that same power of love to dwell in her family because this is a safe, complete and eternal state. Through love between us we reach the revelation of the higher power of unconditional love.

New Life 710 – Between The Sexes, Character Or Beauty?

New Life 710 – Between The Sexes, Character Or Beauty?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

What characteristics do men and women focus on when choosing partners; how does the environment influence our decision, and what is the attitude of the wisdom of Kabbalah to human beauty?

Currently models of feminine beauty have been created for us, and we act according to them. According to the laws of nature, a woman checks a man’s ability to provide her with a secure familial nest and how he will take care of her. According to his nature, a man wants a woman that will be pleasant for him to come home to, who will be like his mother.

Today everything is broken, but this is the original nature. A man has a problem with renewal. When he gets used to something, he is no longer attracted to it. With a man, sex and emotional attachment are two different things, whereas with a woman both of them are linked together. To understand everything that connects men and women, one must learn about their spiritual roots more deeply.

New Life 709 – The Attraction Between Men And Women

New Life 709 – The Attraction Between Men And Women
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

The inner software in nature develops the connection between the male and the female particles into a more complex relationship. The relationship between a man and a woman is the most complex.

Animals choose their mates according to their strength and their health, thinking of their future offspring, but we choose what society considers beautiful instead of what is naturally best for us. There is one social norm that defines beauty and doesn’t allow everyone to choose what is best for him according to his nature.

At the end of a hundred years of confusion, man needs to examine his situation today and to realize the cause of his troubles. Lack of satisfaction with a good relationship or family relations is the cause of all the other problems in human society. There is undoubtedly a right mate for everyone since we are all products of the same system that we have to return in pairs.

New Life 726 – Dealing With Pain And Loss

New Life 726 – Dealing With Pain And Loss
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

What is the right way to deal with the deaths of relatives and how can we continue to be linked with them even after their death?

A person existed and suddenly he is gone. Our perception is limited. We cannot digest this even though we are used to this perception. But there exists a possibility of developing vision beyond life and death.

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches that it is possible to reach a higher level of existence, a spiritual body, during our lives. It depends on building an opposite attitude toward reality, an anti-egoistic attitude, an attitude of love and bestowal toward others.

With this upgraded attitude, the picture of reality is changed and seems completely different. This is called the upper world. When someone dies, he does not just disappear. He finished his role for now and will continue in another form.

Even after a person dies, we are connected to him and influence him for the better with our good deeds. The correction of the attitude of the person toward the world is sure to help the souls of the departed. It is up to us to approach the love of others.

New Life 736 – The Origin Of Our Suffering

New Life 736 – The Origin Of Our Suffering
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

The wisdom of Kabbalah is based upon the fundamentals of creation. The Light created the desire to receive, which suffers when it is empty. The source of suffering in our lives is lack of fulfillment, whereas Kabbalah is a method for fulfillment of our desires.

The role of suffering is to advance us, without it we would not be able to do or feel anything. A person who stops suffering, stops feeling that he is missing something, becomes indifferent, withers, and finally dies. Suffering develops us.

Our origin is in the shattered collective soul. A different kind of fracture is constantly being discovered. The correct response to suffering is understanding its purpose. We don’t know why we are living. The greatest suffering is when a person feels that he is not the “master” over his own life.

Today many people use tranquilizers and drugs, but in fact, all fulfillment of desire is a type of drug because the relaxation of the suffering that appears as a result of the lack of fulfillment, prevents the person from developing further. We are destined to receive complete and eternal fulfillment, filling of the Upper Light, and suffering is designed to move us forward toward it. The correct use of suffering brings pleasure. For the same reason, we want to have an appetite for food, a desire for sex, and so forth.
