Baal HaSulam, Newspaper “The Nation”: Observing life’s reflections, we see that the process of a nation is very similar to the process of a single individual. The function of each nation is like the function of the organs in a single body. As the body must have harmony among its parts—the eyes see and the brain is assisted by them to think and to consult, then the hands work or fight, and the legs walk.

Thus, each stands on its guard and waits for its function. Similarly, the organs that comprise the body of the nation, the counselors, the employers, the workers, the deliverers, etc. should function in complete harmony among them. This is necessary for the normal life of the nation and for a secured existence.

As the natural death of the individual results from disharmony among one’s organs, the nation’s natural decline results from some obstruction that occurred among its organs, as our sages testified (Tosfot, Baba Metzia, Chapter Two) that Jerusalem was ruined only because of unfounded hatred.

It is evident that our body is capable of healthy existence only if all of its organs are devotedly connected to each other, where every organ knows its role with respect to the whole body. Then, the organ completely provides the body with its work and all the substances; it gives and receives in full harmony, according to the correct laws and the correspondence between them.

This is clear to everyone. However, we still don’t realize that this law operates on the scale of the entire creation, the entire universe. Even though explosions or emissions do happen in some parts of the body, ultimately, it all forms a big, living system. Thus, it’s quite possible that the entire universe lives in harmony just like one organism, and it is only us who don’t understand that!

A human society should live in the same way. Little by little, we are getting closer to the realization that a certain process is leading us to a stronger connection to and dependency on each other. We just need to clarify what in this growing and increasingly evident interdependence and connection depends on us and what is placed upon nature.

Nature is constantly revealing our interconnectedness to us, and our task is to respond to it: to connect correctly. It’s similar to how regular life plays tricks on us by giving us problems and exercises, by pushing us, demanding change, while we have to change in response, do all the exercises, and adjust ourselves to this world.

This is what is happening nowadays. We have no choice but to understand that nature is offering us a new form of relationships, which we can’t discern yet. That’s why it is important to decide how to accept it and do the exercise we received today correctly.

My Comment: In nature, everything is arranged according to the principle of mutual guarantee. Kabbalah urges us to connect in this way, and numerous articles indicate that mutual guarantee is the basis of interaction in a group and society, exactly like in the case of the fish!

Question: Can you briefly describe the concept of mutual guarantee?

Answer: Mutual guarantee is when every person understands that his good depends on the good of the other. It cannot be good for me if it is not good for him. I cannot feed myself, but rather, I feed you and you feed me. This is the only way to live. Otherwise, we will die. Choose: there are no other options.

To this extent, we should feel our interdependence. Food is the most important thing for man, but no one can provide himself even with the necessary things without realizing this condition of mutual unity. Everyone will provide for others and not for himself. Nature will compel us to unite with each other in this way, and no other.

Everything else follows from this feeling. As in a close-knit family, together we take care of our children and support our parents. Would we leave a sick grandfather in trouble? Of course not. The condition of mutual guarantee obliges us to do this, and there is no need to introduce special laws. The main thing is an appropriate atmosphere in society, which is created by the media and the environment that condemn or respect certain relationships between people.

However, today, while the Israeli society has not adopted the principle of mutual guarantee yet, we must firstly help all those who cannot get by on their own. Let’s discuss together how to raise people living below the poverty line. This is our first concern because no one in the family should fall below the lowest bracket.

Let’s “put out the fire” and at the same time, work on public education so that the nation moves in the direction of mutual guarantee, which nature itself demands from us today. The upper world descends upon us and expresses itself in the form of the mutual guarantee.

It will take six months or a year before people begin to realize and internalize what is going on. However, today, mutual consent is already required to help the needy who have no money to feed themselves until the next paycheck. Let’s provide what is necessary for them now, and then discuss the rest.

“But what’s interesting about this analysis is that Lagi and co say that high food prices don’t necessarily trigger riots themselves, they simply create the conditions in which social unrest can flourish. ‘These observations are consistent with a hypothesis that high global food prices are a precipitating condition for social unrest,’ say Lagi and co….

“That leads to an obvious thought. If high food prices condition the world for social unrest, then reducing the prices should stabilise the planet.

“Today, the food price index remains above the threshold but the long term trend is still below. But it is rising. Lagi and co say that if the trend continues, the index is likely to cross the threshold in August 2013.

“If their model has the predictive power they suggest, when that happens, the world will become a tinderbox waiting for a match.”

Comment: According to Kabbalah, all the events in the world are caused only by the need to bring humanity to correction, similarity with nature, balance among everyone. This is reflected in the transition to a society of reasonable consumption where everyone consumes to the extent he needs to exist, and not more. In this case, there will be enough resources for everyone.

But reaching this state is possible only under the condition of “mutual guarantee” where “one is for all and all are for one.” Kabbalah explains how to achieve such a connection between everyone in the world. Otherwise, incorrect distribution of food will lead to a world war.

However, they must adhere to the principle of mutual guarantee. Practical solutions in any professional field must always be proposed by the experts who are also connected to each other by the guarantee. This is because they differ in their opinions and evaluations.

The economy is molded from our egoism, which we do not really understand. Besides, the necessity to rise above it intensifies our ignorance. In the end, even the professionals are confused; we see where they have taken us and what they have done.

In any case, it is clear that if, up until today, everything used to be based on the egoistic desire of the person, then, from this point on, we have to build a different economy based on our common desire of bestowal, which is called the “mutual guarantee.” That is why making decisions and implementing them surely must be built on the principle of the guarantee. This is the main distinction of the new approach.

Our world has become global. In other words, the principal law unfolding in the universe is the law of a circle. Global means round, as is the globe of Earth.

We have become interconnected and interdependent. And if so, you cannot get into confrontations; instead, you must reach such an order where people will have warm, cordial relationships and become considerate of one another. In fact, what is mutual guarantee exactly? It is when I sign for you, you’re for me, and everyone is for everybody else. And so it will be all around the Earth.

We are moving toward it very rapidly. The speed with which the world is changing confirms it, and the pace of the changes will keep increasing. Very soon we will reveal that ours is not the only country that can solve the problems by way of mutual guarantee. Moreover, if you resolve them while sitting at the “round table” together with all the others, you feel internal, emotional satisfaction thereby.

They look at you with respect because you have compromised in some small degree because you start to consider the interests of others. A wave of warmth washes over you from within, and you feel safe; you are together with others. This way you begin to reveal the inner power present in this oneness, similar to the upper force.

Very soon, the whole world will see it since in truth, all people involved in protests need only one thing: love. It’s just that they cannot express it.

Today we are living in special times: The world has reached the state when all of mankind feels as if we’re all in one boat. It provides excellent opportunities for everyone to finally start living the common law of nature—the law of mutual guarantee.

A global, integral crisis has overtaken the world. This means that we  are all in the same “boat,” one “ship,” at the bottom of which everyone is “drilling a hole” and doesn’t care about anyone else. And indeed, nobody will get ahold of themselves unless we all get together now and start supporting each other.

This is what we call mutual guarantee. I become everybody’s guarantor, meaning that they will not break this law. And every one of them, in turn, signs for everybody else, including me. And then, I find within myself the courage not to hurt another, not to “drill a hole in the boat.”

If in this way, we come to this common law of nature, we’ll definitely feel that we lack nothing. After all, you are equivalent to nature, so what can be better than that? You will feel happy and healthy and completely secure. No one will dare to approach your country’s borders and claim the right to it.

And all of this is thanks to the fact that you are equivalent to the laws that are dictated to us from Above. And all these laws come down to one, “love your neighbor as you love yourself,” the law of mutual guarantee that helps us reach such a relationship.

Question: I think power should come not from the government but from the people who lead the government to correct decisions.

Answer: It is more natural for the wisdom of Kabbalah and for the new world. In fact, we are transitioning from egoistic relationships to the “round,” global system. The world has become interconnected in all its parts and is taking an altruistic form thereby. This leads to the abolishment of political power, and that is why they no longer know how to run the country or lead the people. This is because their government is a line that extends from the top down, vertical power, backed by military force and money.

But the old order is disappearing, and people are starting to suddenly going out into the streets with various demands. They are pushed by nature: People’s desires are unified in “circles,” and today they are getting stronger, more tangible, and more pronounced. We will see these signs all over the world.

This is the natural course of things, and nothing can be done about it. The people will demand a new order without even knowing what it is. Riots will ignite. Governments ruling by force and by money will fall, while the people will rise to meet the changes. We are headed for this time.

There is only one solution: mutual guarantee. People still have to “take power.” But how will they do it? How will they avoid the mistakes of the previous government and find a new way? We need to unite to meet the “round,” global, and integral world. The method of unification is in the hands of the Kabbalists, and we must hurry to avoid the problems and sufferings that are possible in this way.

For example, if Europe already knew and understood how to unite, and took an appropriate action, it would retain itself. But instead, the European Union is moving toward collapse.
