A long time passes before a person finally begins to not only hear, but also feel and react internally for the need of support and help. And this is not the same support and help that he is used to in our world when he does something and others can help him with it.

The point is the support and help accepted by a person in a group is absolutely necessary for him because he achieves the desired goal not just by the friends’ help, but directly in them. It’s a little different from what we imagine.

A group is that one soul that we have to attain internally. And then we will understand why the Creator brought us all together, each one with his special traits, internally and externally. All of this is calculated and comes from the Reshimot (spiritual genes), which are revealed in such a sequence and connect together, so that precisely in their connection, we can achieve the correction.

There is no other way; the correction is precisely in the mutual connection. Therefore, that final system that existed already from the beginning is being more and more revealed, and we are in some section of its revelation. Therefore, we need to accept the friends as totally essential parts and that without them the connection is impossible in the path set for us. And if not, then as time goes by, it will turn out that someone will disconnect, each one according to his fate.

As long as such an opportunity is given to me, then “I look for my brothers,” and we need to connect with them. And when I begin to connect with them, then I see how much this affair is not simple, to such an extent that it’s revealed to me as the “Egyptian Exile,” egoistic slavery. But this is considered exile only to someone who wants to be connected with others, and then he discovers forces that oppose it.

These are the forces of exile because they disturb us in achieving connection, love, mutual participation, and self-annulment: everything that we consider to be our salvation. If a person is ready to work in such a way, then this is called a discernment of Joseph, the middle line of the Ten Sefirot. And this work is done in faith above reason, meaning in Sefira Yesod and not in Malchut. And when a person begins in such work, then he feels the interferences that come as help against.

Then the work in the right and left lines are revealed to him, until he finally comes to the middle line. Everything exists in one common inclination, which we must actualize.

Question: What do I have to aspire to, the greatness of the friends or equality with them? What is the true connection?

Answer: You have to aspire for unity with the friends, as one man in one heart. You rise above them in order to impress them with the message of the greatness of the goal, and you lower your head before them in order to receive the message of the greatness of the goal.

Otherwise, it will be as if you are equal, as if you neutralize one another, which means that you don’t impress one another. It is easiest to be “equal” to one another by turning our back to one another: “This is yours and this is mine.” Then I don’t compare what you have with what I have. Even if we just pretend to be equal, I still live calmly and have no complaints.

But true equality means that we want to connect and to impress one another with the greatness of the Creator as much as possible. In order to do that, we annul ourselves and value the society as much as possible. So all of us, who are created so differently from one another by the Creator, become truly equal, equal with regard to the goal.

If we yearn to bestow upon one another, if we yearn to subdue ourselves before the friends, if we yearn to ascend and to see the Creator as greater, if we only yearn for Him, if we want to connect, to restrict ourselves, to annul ourselves and to adhere to Him, we become equal by that. Eventually our goal is to connect with Him. By incorporating with Him, we all become equal even in the attributes by which we differ from birth. It is the Creator who has made us different and so by incorporating in Him the inequality disappears.

Question: Which way is our world group going? How can we connect the internal work, unity, and what is expected in the Novosibirsk convention? How do we see our future way?

Answer: We deal with internal unity as if there is no external world and there is only us, the world group alone, and we have to unite to such an extent that we will reach the level that within this unity we will begin to feel the upper world, the attribute of bestowal, mutuality, connection, and love.

The upper force, the upper state, the next level of our existence, will be revealed in that. It is a movement inward toward our unity.

There is another movement, a movement outward toward the rest of humanity. There we don’t speak about Kabbalah, but only about unity as a necessary action in order to bring the whole world to a balanced state, to resemble nature, the general law of balance and general harmony.

These two actions are seemingly opposite and many of us find it difficult to unite them internally. But the movement inward is our personal movement that is common to all those who study Kabbalah. In it there is everything we learn from the sources.

We change the same material a little, by changing its external form, getting rid of the Kabbalistic terms and leaving only the concepts of cooperation, connection, and mutual guarantee, which we disseminate outward as we call people to notice that our unity will make us equal to nature and will thus remove all the negative phenomena in life. By that we want to draw people to unity, to ascend. After all, they don’t know what a spiritual ascent is, what the next level of our development is, and why nature obligates us to reach it.

These two opposite movements evoke in a person and in the groups great internal conflicts, disagreements, and separations. People don’t know exactly how to act, what to actually do, and whether they should delve into the matter or mingle with the external movement.

We get many questions about that and although on the whole we have been dealing with this for quite a while, many people who have not really entered the system of the change in the world and man as the leading part of the world, begin to acknowledge this now.

So there is a lot of confusion, and we have to put an end to it.

Otherwise, it will lead to great misunderstandings in the groups, and the friends will not understand one another. One will be drawn inward and another outward and suddenly the groups will be divided and will become smaller, and people will leave as some of them do not accept this.

People don’t understand that on the whole our role is to create such a force, such an opportunity, by our internal unity that the upper force will be revealed in us and we will be able to spread it to other people who are attracted to us, not because the upper world and its attainment interest them, but because they see the need to unite by what nature offers us today; for ordinary people it is a call of nature.

I hope that everyone will gradually understand this and whoever still feels that he is still divided internally and cannot internalize these two opposite trends, will accept it and acknowledge it and will start working in the two directions.

I understand that it isn’t simple for a person, but we have to separate the two trends. A person has to clarify that our internal unity, what we deal with in the lessons and in the workshops belongs only to us, the world Bnei Baruch group; and what we do with the 99% of the population is not Kabbalah anymore, but mutual guarantee, integral education, etc.

Establishing the right mutual relations in the group is the most important thing we need to implement, since the wisdom of Kabbalah is a very practical wisdom. We can use other wisdoms even without understanding them. For example, I sit in the car and I am shown what is around me, which buttons to press and go. This is what actually happens in everything that we do. It is enough to know a few things in order to use different scientific developments. Sometimes all we need is some basic knowledge: For example, get in and sit down and the train or the bus will take you to your destination, although you have no idea how it is done. I move from place to place, eat, drink, and participate in different events knowing nothing about the technical basis of things, just like a newborn baby who is carried in the adults’ arms or pushed in a stroller.

In spirituality, however, it is different. There I can use certain things only if I know and understand them. I have no control over things that I have not attained and have not discovered. I cannot just sit in some “spiritual carriage” and go somewhere. No, I have to know who I am, what this “carriage” is, how it moves, how to operate it, from where to where I should ride it, what is the place I started from like and what is the nature of my final destination, etc. I have to know what is going on, to be in control of the situation and not just “press the buttons.” Only if I can really implement this fully, having mastered everything, can I perform a certain spiritual act. Otherwise, I simply don’t exist in the spiritual world.

Therefore, we have to immediately ask ourselves: Which means enable us to discover, to know and to understand the spiritual reality and to learn how to manage it? Kabbalists explain that everything in our world is prepared for that. It is fully ready only for this mission, so that from here I will learn how to work with the spiritual world, live in it, and fully control it.

From this world I learn about the upper world. The main tool here is to practice love. We can call it the practice of connection, concession, but on the whole it is about love.

Why? Because that’s what it’s all about. Now I love myself, my desire to receive. I enjoy by filling and satisfying it. This I how the Creator made me, He connected the filling with the pleasure. Love of others means that I don’t absorb the pleasure but rather feel it in Him and by that enjoy. This is how a mother also enjoys every spoonful she can put into her baby’s mouth…

Question: How can I fill the desire of the friends if I don’t understand what they want?

Answer: You do understand what they want because they want the same thing that you want. They want to reach correction, to discover the force that operates in nature. This force is called general nature, and all of creation belongs to it.

So you want what your friend wants. Besides, everyone has different corporeal desires that may be known to us, everyone has his own personal worldly desires that have nothing to do with spirituality. But in terms of the sublime, spiritual desires and goals, you should be clear about what happens with the friend; so try to support him.

The support is to raise the friend’s spirits and give him hope and power and a feeling of elation in attaining the goal. Help him in every way possible. Evoke in him the feeling of how great the goal and the upper are.

Show him how you can humble yourself before the group, since it is only the small that can receive from the group, and so everyone must lower himself before the group in order to receive something from it.

There is a spiritual force in the group that resides among us. The group wasn’t founded by us. It only seems to us that we have gathered by ourselves and formed this group. Of course it isn’t true! The upper force arranges the group for us; so don’t think that we have found one another just by chance. It is all done by the action of the general force that brings us together.

Therefore, we have to understand that on the one hand, there is a hidden force that operates among us, but on the other hand, we have to act according to it in order to gradually approach it and begin to feel it. Then we can start the mutual work among us.

Thus by the changes in us, we gradually begin to approach the revelation of the upper force by taking on its attributes bit by bit. Then we discover these attributes in us and this means that we discover the upper force.

Mutual incorporation means that everyone is incorporated in others. I restrict my desire, which means the patterns in it, trying to take from and to incorporate in the patterns that are in others. I look and see how everyone around me enjoys different things, while I haven’t felt that all this can be pleasant.

If a person remains indifferent during the lesson, it means that he cannot be incorporated in the desires of others. I see that there are some who are actually burning and some that fall asleep. It all depends on the impression we can receive from one another. This is called mutual incorporation; I try to enter the other and to be impressed by his desires.

In order to do that, I need to first annul myself, like a small child since otherwise I won’t be able to be incorporated in others. I make myself a zero, the black point of Malchut. Now I can enter the other and see what is there inside him. He is impressed by something and I want to be impressed with him. Then I can absorb his thoughts and desires, everything that is in him.

I can reformat my desire, which I have restricted and turned into raw material, and give it a form according to the one that is in another person. It turns out that I copy and paste upon myself everything that is in his soul, and now my soul receives his inner drawing.

I have pasted a copy of his image upon myself, just like you copy data from one computer to another, from one memory to another. In order to do that, I have to nullify myself and to prepare an empty space inside me. Then I have to enter the other and to take the data from him and to transfer it into me, into my “memory.” Thus my “memory” is filled with his data. But in order to do that, my memory must first be empty, and ready to receive new data. This is called mutual incorporation.

What have I attained by that? I had my own desires. and now, in addition to them, I have the desires of someone else. Then I incorporate in the desires of another and then with another. Eventually I will include the whole world inside me. But only if I see myself as lower than everyone else will I be able to include everyone inside me, and by that become wiser than everyone. I grow and become greater than everyone, but it is thanks to the fact that I consider myself inferior to everyone else. That’s the way it works.

It takes a very long time until, against all the desires and the rejections, a person can convince himself that it is essential to establish a relationship with the friends. It takes a very long time until he clarifies all this and convinces himself, after many ascents and descents.

Gradually by learning from all the states and actions he has been through, by checking himself, he begins to understand what is good and what is bad for him. First he thought that it was good when he had new feelings, understood and felt more, and thought he was respected and powerful. Now he gradually begins to understand that all these pleasant feelings do not indicate his spiritual advancement at all. On the contrary, they indicate that a person is drowning more and more deeply into his ego, into the desire to receive, the matter of creation.

First a person thinks that advancement depends on studying the theory, on knowing the material. He goes through the books wanting to understand them, believing that by that he will be able to approach the goal. Then he rushes to disseminate this knowledge, thus hoping to get a reward for his efforts. He tries to break through in different directions by revolving around one central point: love for the other.

He reaches it only when he has no other choice, and is in total despair of attaining anything by himself. As a result of all these actions the Light illuminates him, and he begins to understand and to feel that the entrance to the spiritual world opens only where his heart connects with the heart of the friend.

Through this point of connection, where the hearts come in contact, I exit my heart and penetrate the heart of the friend, so that in the heart of the friend I will discover my spiritual world. This is what each of us does with relation to the friends.

It takes a long time to do this, since it has to be in the heart and not in the mind. The mind becomes only an external tool. Thus a person advances in the right direction and discovers the most distant and hateful state of all the states in this world.

Previously he couldn’t even imagine that this is the goal of life. But this is what he has to reach, so that the goal of his life will be the connection of the hearts of all the people in this world into one heart.

We have to be patient with ourselves and with the friends that go through different external states. Everyone needs his own time and form of development until he finally discovers that there is no other work but the love of friends.

The more you take your time in this process, the more you succeed. People who think that they can start this work immediately usually burn out quickly. This recognition requires an adaptation period, a time for all the other types of work to “dry up” so that from all his experience and his efforts a person will feel despair. Then, with the help of the Light that Reforms he will understand and feel that nothing will help him except connection. This is when his work begins in the right place.

Since we are connected in one general network with all the people in the world, we pass on this feeling and this understanding to everyone. Thus the world begins to talk about the need for stronger connections among people, which can save humanity. The more we work on ourselves and the greater efforts we make, the more Light we will draw upon ourselves according to the law of equivalence of form that also pours into the external vessels, to all of humanity and so this idea reaches everyone.

It is clear that we were created so that we are only capable of worrying about our own good and we have no drive to act altruistically. In all the next 125 levels we increasingly discover this truth lurking in our ego, which totally controls us.

The only way to break away from it is with the help of the Light that Reform, that raises us from the egoistic intention to the intention of bestowal. We remain with the same desire to enjoy, but its intention changes.

This is only possible under the influence of the Light. When the Light shines on the desire, it holds on to the intention to bestow. The moment the Light stops influencing the desire the enjoy, it immediately returns to the intention of for its own good. It all depends only on the intensity of the Light that influences the desire.

It turns out that all our life depends on how much the Reforming Light influences us. This is why we have to summon its greatest influence upon us. In order to do that, we need a deficiency, a desire. Where do we find it?

For that there is a mutual inclusion. After all, none of us has a great desire to achieve bestowal: We don’t understand it and don’t see any benefit in it. So I have to incorporate in the group, in the right environment, which impresses me and tells me about the greatness of bestowal.

It doesn’t matter if the others don’t know what they are talking about; I am impressed by them since that’s how I am built. If I place myself under the influence of the environment that acts out bestowal, even artificially, as a game, it impresses me, and I begin to want to bestow! After all, it is the environment that has inserted the idea that it is a great, valuable attribute in me.

It’s like fashion that is advertised on all channels with lots of publicity, colorfully with famous actors taking part in the campaign, who tell me how important it is to have those products. Eventually I want to buy what they want to sell, although none of the actors have even thought of buying these products themselves, and the ones who hired their services simply want to make a profit. They all work only in order to confuse me and eventually they succeed: I go out and buy what they advertise.

We need the same thing, but we should organize this game by ourselves. We have to increase the importance of bestowal and to convince ourselves that it is good to bestow! Everyone must sell this merchandise to others.

We are first incorporated in each other’s desires and everyone acquires a desire to reach bestowal. Second, we work together building our environment so that it will provide each of us with the greatness of bestowal.

Eventually I receive an internal desire to bestow and so does the environment, the group that inserts the importance of this attribute in me. This is why I want it! Everyone acts as if he has ascended and is in bestowal and is attracted to it. I am impressed by that and want to attain the same thing.

Question: When I act before a friend, trying to make the goal seem more important in his eyes, must I act according to what I think is great or according to his attributes?

Answer: What do you mean, according to what you think? You must take into account only the friend. When a mother takes care of a baby, what does she think about? Is it about what is good for her or about what is good for the baby?

When I act before the friend, I aim at the highest goal. Of course, it isn’t in an exaggerated manner, but I try to convey encouragement on the spiritual path gently, from the bottom of my heart. This also impresses me. I lie to myself, as if I really want it.

As a result, I receive more Aviut, “thickness,” a deeper desire, and then I suddenly fall. However, this fall is a result of my efforts. I summoned the descent by myself, and this is already a great step forward.

There are descents that simply wait for me along the way, but there also are descents that come as a result of my efforts. They are totally different, and I receive them differently since my vessels are ready for this.

I have made something higher of myself; I have “drawn” myself anew in an attempt to be equal to the spiritual level. I am impressed by bestowal. I judge everyone to the scale of merit. I justify the Creator, my past and my present. I “blow up” all this by myself, helping the friends, yearning for mutual guarantee, living and breathing it, and, suddenly, I feel a descent in the vessels that I have created myself. Although they are not real, although I only was acting, thanks to my “performance,” thanks to the “costume” I tried on, I get additional Aviut.

In fact, I have gained an upper form and have jumped the gun, and it is as if I built it independently, and the Creator only adds the “matter” of the desire to it. By my inclination forward, it is as if I have built a large “me” in advance, and the Creator only agrees with me and fills the drawing, the “bubble” I have created. He has filled the airy body with “flesh,” with the matter of the desire, and, now, I am already in a higher state.

Thus, I advance with the help of my imagination. Of course, things are a bit more complicated. I don’t just make a “drawing,” and the Creator “colors” it in, but it is a wonderful means to advance.

In addition, there is one more thing: By acting before the friends, I actually build the Creator, the future state of bestowal. This is because I cannot imagine the Creator as higher than myself on a higher level. For me, it is the same thing. I either imagine myself or Him.

Baal HaSulam, “Letter 19”: But not in one time will a person be ready for the high, sublime pairing, called complete coupling. But “only goodness and grace will follow me.” Therefore He intervenes, which is the beginning of the coupling, which means, “a righteous suffers….

The Creator wakes a person, which means that He doesn’t push him forward but arranges him by many tricks, as if flirting with him. We see that even in nature in the animal world there are mating games before the coupling. It’s a whole process in which each side has to show the other that he is ready for the connection and is responsible for it, able to care for the next generation.

It’s the same with a person who is rejected from the coupling by the Creator because he does not have a strong enough desire. A person thinks that the Creator doesn’t want to connect with him and so he suffers because he wants to connect so badly, and is so ready for it having done everything he could in order to attain it. So why doesn’t the Creator reveal Himself to him?

It seems to a person that he is ready to bestow, but we understand that he only thinks of how he can use the revelation of the Creator for his own pleasure. These are not vessels of bestowal yet. If he had a desire to bestow, his sorrow would be different. The sufferings would immediately turn to goodness, to pleasure

But “time will do what the mind doesn’t do”… If a person follows this path persistently: working in the group, studying, doing everything that he can, his successes and failures are already in the hands of the upper Providence and his only goal is to continue. He should try to make the best of every state that he experiences.

It isn’t enough to drag oneself from one phase to the next. Thanks to all the awakenings, all the stings from the Creator, and since he feels bad as a result, he must desire to run forward, to break all the barriers along the way, and this is clearly impossible without mutual guarantee.

A person thinks that he has made such great efforts and has not received any rewards yet! His great passion is unanswered, which means that the Creator does not respond. As a result, he despairs: How long can he chase the Creator without any results? Is there a limit to this or not?

He begins to ask: Where have all his efforts, all his exertion, and all his yearning gone? And he is left with a feeling of great longing. Actually we have to connect all our successes, failures, and disappointments. On the one hand, we should feel a great disappointment, but on the other hand we should rise above it in “faith above reason.”

The times in which the ego power pushed me forward are over. Now I have to break through all the hostile barriers along the way; now I have to feel how many such barriers are inside me and how to rise above them in “faith above reason.”

I have to feel the full depth of my ego, to feel totally disappointed in my powers. Then suddenly I understand that I can’t cope with these enemies and to break through, only because I am trying to do it with my ordinary egoistic powers (the corporeal mind and feeling) by brute force. Suddenly from this disappointment I see the solution and I understand that this isn’t the way to advance: I have to rise above reason and then everything will suddenly work out. This means that there must be a feeling of disappointment and heaviness in which the solution, the new approach, is born. But in order to reach that, we have to reach a full measure of disappointment.

And the one who knows the mysteries knows how much a person desires to be close to the Creator, a desire that may cease. And so the Creator increases His interventions, which means the beginnings of couplings. This is to the extent that a person can bear them.

It depends on the environment. If the environment is strong and sustains a person internally and constantly evokes him, he can go through this process very quickly and end all the preparation stages for the coupling.
