New Life #94 – Health And Nutrition

New Life #94 – Health and Nutrition
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

The quality of the connection between people also determines the quality of the food they eat. When we eat a schnitzel, we “drink” the attitude of the person who has prepared it for us. Anything that is truly served from the bottom of a person’s heart cannot harm the body. Even the damage caused by fast food can be neutralized by a positive attitude. If a person weren’t corrupt, the tomato wouldn’t rot either. The food crisis will bring the food business to an end and the demand for workers in agriculture and healthier food will prevail.

New Life #92 – Understanding Addiction

New Life #92 – Understanding Addiction
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

We all can be potentially addicted to something. Humans are made from an insatiable desire to enjoy, which leaves us feeling empty and leads us to various addictions. The addictive substance of choice gives us a sense of detachment from competition, pressures, and other environmental problems. We experience a descent from the animate level of existence to the vegetative level since the addictive substance both suppresses and fulfills our desire to receive. As the addiction becomes a habit, we need larger doses and it becomes an unsuccessful way of coping. What we actually need is the “drug of life,” which is based on mutually satisfying connections between people. A positive social environment can rehabilitate us and help us to evolve to a higher level of existence.

New Life #91 – Understanding Depression, Part 2

New Life #91 – Understanding Depression, Part 2
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

Depression can be a turning point in our lives. It presents us with an opportunity to find our true selves and can lead us upward toward a higher experience of life. If we build the right environment for ourselves, this environment can influence us and make it possible for us to program a better tomorrow. The right environment is one focused on giving. We need to train workers and learn how to exercise our imaginations. We can change our experience of life by changing our attitude.

New Life #90 – Understanding Depression, Part 1

New Life #90 – Understanding Depression, Part 1
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

Depression is like a virus that stems from existential questions we cannot seem to answer. Physical pain can result from mental pain and depression. We can’t find a solution to the growing feeling of emptiness inside, and old ways of coping through sports, entertainment, and hobbies are no longer effective. We feel cornered because we are closed inside of ourselves. There is a single remedy for depression, a new human program based on the principle “And you shall love your friend as yourself.” In other words, we need to exit our bodies and feel our desires and thoughts inside others. We can learn how to exit depression by considering what is good for others instead of what is good for myself. This can be achieved via discussion workshops in groups.

New Life #82 – How Can We Ease The Pressure Of Daily Life?

New Life #82 – How Can We Ease the Pressure of Daily Life?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

A healthy group is one that is connected to nature’s capacity to radiate healing energy. Anxiety and the sensation of pressure in life can be transformed into positive emotions when we know how to manage ourselves socially, what to talk about together, and which activities to engage in.

New Life #81 – Health: Infectious Diseases, Viruses, And Bacteria

New Life #81 – Health: Infectious Diseases, Viruses, And Bacteria
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

We create diseases, viruses, and bacteria through our egoistic insistence not to connect to one another. We can also be infected by spiritual viruses and evil thoughts. If we don’t advance and evolve correctly toward one, unified system of mutual bestowal, we invoke the forces of nature that balance us through destruction and cleansing. Nature is leading us along the levels of mental and emotional evolution, on the way to conscious balance with nature. A good environment brings along good viruses that will win since they are on the same frequency as nature’s program, like the upper force of bestowal.

New Life #78 – Pain And Health

New Life #78 – Pain And Health
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Summary

Pain passes when we open our hearts up to others. Pain comes from feeling the limits of our senses and from the separation between us. We feel the world through pain, which comes as a warning. Today, we absorb the pain and bad moods of others because we are linked. Nature is requiring us to arrange the relationships between us properly based on mutual love; otherwise, we will all suffer from pain. It is time to tear down the walls and borders between us.

Video Game Addiction

laitman_959Question: The World Health Organization included video game addiction in its list of diseases and disorders. A person is considered addicted to video games if he dedicates more and more time to them “to the point that games take precedence over other life interests.”

What is the reason that a person sticks to the game so much that it becomes his life?

Answer: And what is our world? It is also a game.

So, there is nothing else, a person changes one to another. The game he enters obeys him, he exists in it, receiving feedback from and influencing it. For him, this is a closer spectrum of connections, events, and reciprocities.

He actively participates in it. People spend a lot of money and are ready to just live in this.

Question: Do you consider this a disease?

Answer: I believe that any hobby, if it does not distract from the purpose of creation, can take place as a leisure, but beyond that, it is already a disease.

Question: Is it possible to beat this disease?

Answer: I do not think that a person will willingly give it up. It is because replacing a fairy-tale world with a real one is simply stealing one’s life from oneself.

Question: For him life is a game?

Answer: In fact, it is not a game, but his life! And our life is a silly game.

Remark: You always talk just about one thing: Only when a person gets to the real meaning of life, then all this will become child’s play to him.

My Comment: All this will wither away by itself, because the prospect of revealing the true world, eternity and perfection will obscure all games, everything that he has today.

Question: Perhaps, that’s why there are games. Is it in order to move him closer to that?

Answer: Not to move him closer, but simply to brighten up time until humanity realizes what a hopeless, final state it is in.

Question: And when will this time come?

Answer: It depends on two factors: when humanity will have enough suffering and when Kabbalists will be able to approach it and explain what the matter is.

Everything Is Corrected By The Upper Light

laitman_239Question: Is it possible to feel the upper Light to such an extent that I will begin to be healed in this world?

Answer: It is possible, but no one can promise. It is not easy.

The upper Light corrects absolutely everything at all levels: physical, moral, psychological, etc. But we still cannot purposefully influence this. The time will come when you will gain a little experience and see that Kabbalah can really do everything.

Question: On the other hand, you claim that one cannot ask for himself. Or are there cases when you can ask for yourself?

Answer: If a person is unable to engage in the higher spiritual work because something hinders him, he can ask to rise above these disturbances.

Happy Pills

laitman_552.03In the News (New York Magazine): “Do modern realities merit an increased dependence on Xanax? Steven Hayes, a clinical psychologist at the University of Nevada, believes that benzos stop a gap that evolution has yet to fill. As humans try to control an exponentially growing number of inputs with which they are confronted, ‘our attention becomes less flexible, our minds become more chattering, and the next thing we know, we’re frantic.’

Humans are ill-equipped to process or accommodate all these new signals. ‘Our task now is to create modern minds for the modern world, and that modern mind has to be psychologically flexible.’ In the absence of that flexibility, Hayes says, people need a bridge—a pill—between what life doles out and what people can realistically handle.”

My Comment: The world is developing too quickly and people are simply unable to adapt, unable to cope with all of its challenges. Therefore, advances in modern pharmacology come to help.

When taking a course of typical antidepressants, one must wait two to three weeks before starting to feel any effect. With Xanax, it’s much simpler: get nervous, take a pill, calm down. The drug is similar to a cup of coffee and doesn’t even cost that much.

Xanax disconnects a person from the problem. If life has him by the throat, then of course, this is a blessing for him. This will work until he realizes that he needs to attain the truth. Only then will he reject these “sleep-inducing” methods. He will throw Xanax away and pick up a book on Kabbalah.
