Question: Why is it so difficult for us to support each other?

Answer: We do not feel connected to each other. Kabbalah explains that we are interconnected, integral, and in the same system.

Look at the ways in which all misfortunes that befall humanity teach us about integral interconnectedness.

What are people missing today? We have science, technology, everything you could want. The only thing we lack is a good connection between ourselves. It is so obvious! After all, if you look at humanity, what are people occupied with? They have everything except the awareness of how to make their lives normal. Yes, it is just to suffer less, not to mention that we can achieve anything!

The same applies to us in our tens. But why? We know what needs to be done to be correctly interconnected so that I can reveal the upper world in the ten so that my ten transforms into ten Sefirot and I begin to attain all 125 degrees within it.

To leave this world like that, to ascend to any degree as on a spaceship and simply look at this nature as nothing, why don’t we do it? It seems that we have everything, we know everything, we understand everything, there is a place, there is time, there is strength, there is everything.

This means that each and every one in Israel would take upon himself to care and work for each member of the nation, to satisfy all their needs, no less than the measure imprinted in him to care for his own needs (Baal HaSulam, “The Arvut [Mutual Guarantee]”).

We must always compare taking care of ourselves to caring for others: how much does striving for oneself differ from striving for others, what is the difference between them, and can we somehow equalize the desire to care for others with the care for oneself. That is a specific and uncomplicated task. Defining it is very simple, but carrying it out is almost impossible.

Mutual guarantee (Arvut), described by Baal HaSulam is like a fantasy. We understand that it is practically unattainable and beyond human capability. I cannot think about others, not even those close to me, in the way I do about myself. It is impossible. The task set before us is, in fact, not achievable. So, what are we discussing here?

Once the whole nation unanimously agreed and said, “We will do and we will hear,” each member of Israel became responsible that no member of the nation will lack anything. Only then did they become worthy of receiving the Torah

It is enough if we understand that we have no other way out. And we do not need another way out because, in reality, this is the highest goal that can be in our lowly, insignificant world. Therefore, if we agree to live in mutual guarantee, we will begin to draw upon ourselves special upper forces that will lead us to this state.

However, no one says we must become altruists and kind, love everyone, and connect with everyone. That is not serious. It says we must realize our current nature and the state we must reach that nature pushes us to.

Look at what is happening in the world. Nature pushes us toward complete unification. We may not understand this, but in principle, this is what lies ahead of us. If we want to live on our small Earth, we must become one unified whole. Otherwise, we cannot survive.

By realizing this, we will become suitable for receiving the Torah and for receiving the upper light that will change our nature and drive us toward collective unification.

The world is experiencing more division, fragmentation, and distancing every day, and accordingly, more confusion about where it exists, why, and how. Humanity feels the egoism that seems to play with it from within and acts accordingly.

The wisdom of Kabbalah deals with elevating a person from idol worshipping. It does not matter what or who is considered an idol. These idols can be more than just statues, amulets, or certain beliefs; they encompass our entire lives that we worship and consider important.

The revelation of the Creator—the single force of nature that governs everything—and connection with it, meaning attaining an upper level, is not deemed important.

Consider how television, radio, and media are filled with various soothsayers, and how the mass media operates, what people perceive, what they think, and even how we teach all sciences. Science today is becoming semi-mystical even though it is considered a science. Look at the hypotheses, theories, and conjectures presented by scholars!

We are returning to the same old circles, to these idols, because we have completely lost our orientation. Therefore, Kabbalah reveals itself and says: “We must return to the one nature.”

Our current crisis indicates that globalization and unity in nature are its main characteristics. One, unified, unique, and integrated—this is the core, the source of all existence.

Therefore, the more we strive for unification, for the understanding of unity, for understanding all the numerous manifestations in nature as merely one attribute, the Creator, the faster we will come to understand the truth and reach a better state.

Why are people not ashamed today to be wealthy and even flaunt it; they build palaces, villas, buy diamonds, cars, and do all this ostentatiously? How can people have a clear conscience when there is so much poverty and sorrow around?

Answer: It has always been this way, at all times. There are those who hide it. There are those who show it.

Question: So you do not think this is indicative of the present time?

Answer: Yes, today of course people are not ashamed of anything.

Question: Why did this happen? Why is one not concerned that someone has nothing to eat while he builds…?

Answer: It is a lack of upbringing, actually. Great people, though they may have immense wealth are not focused on that; what matters to them is inner wealth.

Answer: A person should be taught, first of all, to be content with their destiny, whatever it may be.

Second, to not consider themselves above others in wealth, knowledge, or anything else. Only in wisdom concerning the Creator, in modesty. That is the main thing.

Question: Can this be cultivated in someone?

Answer: It can.

Question: Is this not a natural quality?

Answer: No, this can be cultivated, and it must be cultivated.

Question: In principle, will a normal society, even let’s say the society of the future, follow such upbringing?

Answer: Yes. People will not flaunt their cars, houses, and wealth.

Question: So this will not be so valuable to a person?

Answer: It will say a lot, that perhaps he has earned something, but in principle, it will not be as important to a person.

Comment: You said that it is important for a person not to look at either the rich or the poor, but at his own destiny—this is my destiny.

Question: Baal HaSulam writes that everyone should take only what is necessary for existence, and direct the rest of their efforts to benefit their neighbor and the Creator. How can those who want to use nuclear weapons today suddenly change and begin to take care of the welfare of their neighbor?

Answer: This will come to a person from above, “they will turn their swords into plowshares.” All this will come, but not in the way we think. The Creator will put other thoughts into a person’s head, and people will start acting that way. So much so that if you tell the person, “You thought differently yesterday,” they will not believe you.

Question: What kind of understanding should be conveyed to the public every day?

Answer: After consulting each other, we must test our conclusions on some group and then bring this knowledge to the world so that people do not reject what we present to them.

We must give them an understanding that our evil nature, egoism, pushes us away from each other and is the cause of all our suffering. That is the first one.

Second, we cannot correct egoism through any political, economic, or other decisions, but only with the help of our connection and the desire to reveal this point within ourselves that unites everyone with the others.

Question: How do we find that point where we can interact among ourselves on the level of desires and aspiration toward the Creator rather than on the level of bodies and characters?

Answer: We do not speak at all about the animal body. It has no relation to spiritual work because it belongs to the level of our world. We do not speak about our characters because the Creator assembles us. This is His “problem.” He created us with these characters and gathered us together just the way we are, so that we understand that we can unite only with His help.

Moreover, He gathers very difficult people: nervous, angry, nit-picking ones that are inclined to criticize. Kabbalists in all times were the most dreadful people, the biggest egoists. Otherwise they would not demand knowledge of the meaning of life, its cause, its source. For this, a great egoistic desire is necessary.

These are people who cannot think about anyone but themselves. Not that they are rude or cruel, no. That is just how they are inside. And it is they who begin to reveal that they cannot unite but must do so.

Here arises a dilemma that humanity faces. If we do not unite, then eventually we will come to destruction. Look at what is happening today, what frictions between everyone, what calculations. Horror! So many sources of all sorts of conflicts!

The Creator deliberately awakens this among us so that we understand that there can be nothing better than unity. But we cannot unite. We do not even think about it because we understand that it is pointless, that every state cares only about itself. Moreover, within each state there are dozens of currents, parties, that tear it apart. Human society is tearing itself apart from within by its egoism.

And here we must demonstrate that against egoism there is a force that can unite us. In general, everyone agrees that revealing such a force is good. We just need to show through our own example that this is possible.

And then we will be able to convince humanity not theoretically and not with beautiful words, to aspire toward mutual guarantee too; we will show how it works. Otherwise, no one will take us seriously. This is what we must do.

Question: Do we come to the group in order to reach common hopelessness and helplessness?

Answer: No. We come to the group to reveal the Creator within it. However, when we start working, we reveal the impossibility of connecting by our own efforts.

Similarly, humanity must convince itself at its lower level that it is incapable of reaching a normal earthly human life. Nothing works for them in family life, in raising children, technology, work, culture, or science; whatever they do, they only harm themselves. Gradually, humanity truly becomes convinced of this.

Then they are invited to correct this with the upper light, the positive energy that works within us. Kabbalah explains that this energy can only be drawn from common work on ourselves in order to reach some common denominator.

Suppose theoretically we are ready. A part of humanity, for example, Bnei Baruch, desires this. But when we start working on connection, we, like all of humanity, also feel the impossibility of it. Even if we want to yield to each other, care for each other, empathize, and suffer together, it does not work!

The Creator deliberately makes it so that we cannot correctly adjust ourselves and become masters of the world (we cannot be masters of the world because we are created beings), but He makes it so that we become disappointed in our own strength and feel the need for Him. This is when we appeal to Him, and He builds a system of correct integral connection between us called Arvut (mutual guarantee).

Only after this can we constantly work with this system of connection. Its revelation between us is called the entry into the upper world, because in that case, we begin to see the entire creation in connection among us through an organ of perception called “the group,” “the ten Sefirot.” Then we can move forward calmly, without error, while understanding what we must do.

Comment: A “Doomsday Clock” was started in 1947 by the creators of the first atomic bomb. This clock shows how much time is left until midnight, which marks a nuclear cataclysm. This decision about the remaining time is made by a board consisting of 18 Nobel laureates.

Today, they say, there are ninety seconds left until midnight. According to their calculations they warn that we are approaching catastrophe and everyone needs to react. They assert that we are facing the most dangerous moment in modern history. They urge us to bear in mind that it could very well happen.

My Response: Yes.

Question: Why do we completely not care about these statements?

Answer: These statements are actually completely unimportant to us.

Question: So they gather there, they talk, they determine how long until midnight, and we do not care about it. Why? Why are we not afraid of this?

Answer: That is our nature.

Question: Will this always be your answer?

Answer: What else can be done? That is how I see it.

Comment: But I have children, grandchildren. I have my own life.

My Response: So what. Do you really want them to carry on this miserable life?

Comment: I do not want them to have a miserable life.

My Response: Suffering endlessly, from century to century.

Question: So will there be no Doomsday Clock ticking away in me, making me tremble and worry: “It is going to happen any moment now”?

Answer: No!

My Response: If it ends, what difference does it make to them whether it happens today or in ten years?

Question: So all these calls to action mean nothing?

Answer: No.

Question: Then why do they call for action, sign treaties, gather at the UN and hold Security Council meetings? Why?

Answer: Someone has to do something and get paid for it. Nothing will change. This world will remain doomed.

Question: So what should we be doing then? If not stopping these wars, not working on peace in the world or anything else, what should we be doing?

Answer: Actually, the best thing would be if we all went to sleep. Really. If we invented a little pill: right now, at, say midnight, we all take the pill and wake up in 100 years.

What would happen during that time? The world would heal.

Comment: You saw what happened during the Covid period. Animals came into the cities, the environment improved. We were told that springs, lakes, and rivers were getting cleaner. The world would cleanse itself from our pollution.

My Response: Yes, that would be good.

Question: Not bad, of course. At least no one is killing anyone. But in reality? There will be no pill, we can’t sleep it away.

These people have found a goal for themselves—to warn the world about nuclear catastrophe. Others, on the contrary, are building nuclear bombs. Still others want to live peacefully, but are not allowed to. Ultimately, what should we all, as humans, come to?

Answer: We should come to the question: “What is the purpose of human life?” And, of course, not just to sleep through life and do nothing, but to get an answer to this question: “Why am I living?”

We all need to ask this question and receive an answer.

Question: Do you personally see your task in getting people to ask this question?

Answer: Yes.

Question: What answer will they come to if they ask the question?

Answer: Why I live.

Question: And why is that?

Answer: Why? That is for each person to understand: the purpose of their life.

Question: So this is the engine of life?

Answer: Yes, to push people toward the Creator. I believe there is no higher task than to rise to the level of the Creator.

Question: Will an ordinary person also come to this question?

The law of mutual guarantee is the law of life, the law of existence, the law of development. At every level where nature wishes to create something that exists, it creates its individual parts and compels them to coexist according to the law of mutual guarantee, which originates from nature itself.

In our world, we observe this at the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels. Man is the connection of people with each other, not each of us, but all people above our natural egoism. When we, as individual particles, are ready to connect to create a correct society, we are called “Adam” meaning “similar to the Creator.”

Therefore, the system of mutual guarantee is crucial in our time. We see humanity becoming increasingly confused, unable to find itself, and practically writhing in convulsions. Although everyone understands that connection is necessary, they also understand that it is impossible due to our egoistic nature.

The wisdom of Kabbalah comes to our aid and explains that we have no choice but to unite; otherwise, things will only get worse. On one hand, we increasingly need each other and cannot escape this planet to distance ourselves from each other. On the other hand, we must connect. The method of connection is inherent in nature itself and is called the wisdom of Kabbalah, which teaches us how to correctly receive all kinds of fulfillment from each other.

Compared to other parts of nature, a human being is a creature that rises above its animalistic side and becomes a social element by creating society, state, and family, not just a temporary family for reproduction, like animals, but a long-term family. Then he develops industry, science, art, etc. Everything that exists within a person is the makings for one’s elevation to a spiritual level through the connection of one’s  inner parts.

How does this happen? We exist in our world to push a person toward returning to the spiritual state where one was initially. First, we create various communication systems between us, such as trade, financial systems, etc. We engage in wars and alliances just to understand how we can progress.

After undergoing multiple splits and disappointment in the ability to unite properly, we turn to Kabbalah. The first to turn to it was Adam, 5,780 years ago. He was the first to reveal this system.

The system’s design is providing humanity with the means to connect correctly. This connection, known as a mutual guarantee or Arvut, can be achieved similarly to how inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels achieve connection within the systems existing in our world. If we study these systems, we will see that they operate according to mutual guarantee. For example, each part of the human body is responsible for the entire organism. Feeling its responsibility, it automatically acts as needed to maintain the physiological life of all other parts. That is why the body exists.

However, when the connection between parts of the organism fails, a person immediately becomes ill. And if the interconnection between cells and internal systems further fails, the person dies. The same applies to society. This law operates at all levels.
