Awaken the Good Force in the Group

528.04Question: To remain silent and restrain oneself is an opportunity to enter into an internal dialogue with the Creator. What happens to my desire when I see myself in this dialogue: does it decrease or increase, or does it shrink as if acquiring greater density?

Answer: We must try to get out of our desire to receive, rise to the desire to bestow, and unite with other similar desires of friends. To the extent that the desire grows and intensifies, I will be able to think more and more about how I can awaken the good force in the group and thus help the friends rise together with me.

Show the Creator the Readiness to Unite

938.04Question: Does the “strong hand” refer to the blows that fall upon Pharaoh?

Answer: Usually, it depends on the person who interprets these blows in one way or another. But the main thing is that we want to show the Creator how ready we are to overcome our evil inclination that separates us and to unite with one another. That is what truly helps us.

Question: Can the “strong hand” be revealed without prayer?

Answer: No, you will not feel that it is strong except in accordance with the measure of your prayer.

Unite For the Sake of the Creator

943Question: If we reach the point of complete self-nullification, do I reveal the Creator instead of my friends?

Answer: You reveal your friends, and within them, you reveal the next degree, connection with the Creator. This is the very point of prayer in which the ten should unite.

We must unite for the sake of the Creator so that we have a Kli in which to reveal Him. After all, this is our true goal to the extent that we can unite despite our egoism in order to reveal Him. This is our work.

608.02Question: If everything is controlled from above and a person does not have his own power, can we say that making concessions is not an action but the realization that I do not have a separate form?

Answer: No, you should make concessions not because you do not have your own form yet, which will appear later. After all, climbing the entire ladder from our place to infinity, to the highest rung, is felt in annulling our egoism and using it only for bestowal.

The Path to the Revelation of the Creator

528.03When we read The Book of Zohar, we try to create a common space where we desire to unite all our points in the heart within it; this is what it means to study the Torah. Without such an intention, there is no study of the Torah.

The point in the heart is Israel (Yashar–El), meaning the desire aimed toward the Creator. Through study, we strive to attain the Torah, the light that reforms us. Then, within the connection between us, we reveal the Creator.

Within this connection between us and thus within the revelation of the Creator, there are 125 degrees, or 5 worlds, the 5 lights of NRNHY.

The complete absence of connection from which we begin our efforts to unite is called this world. The final point of unity between us is called the world of infinity.

This is how the entire system of the collective Soul is revealed, called Adam HaRishon, Shechina, or Malchut of infinity. The form of this spiritual vessel (Kli) is called the Creator (Kadosh Baruch Hu), the quality of bestowal and love that we reveal.

Everything exists within this system. The entire wisdom of Kabbalah speaks only of how to reveal the Creator according to the law of equivalence of form, as it is said: “From the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator.” By connecting together, we form a system of connection between us that is similar to the upper force of bestowal.

This image must always be before our eyes as we read The Book of Zohar. I must constantly examine where I am on this ladder of connection between us, what The Zohar is speaking about at this moment, whether I desire to connect with others or resist it, and what hinders me.

I must constantly think only of this: how I (Israel) am connected to others by the force that unites us (Torah), and how within our correct connection, the original quality of bestowal (the Creator) is revealed.

The Basis for the Unity of the People of Israel

267.02Question: What is the basis for the unity of the people of Israel?

Answer: First of all, people feel on an animalistic level that the whole world hates them. Therefore we must explain that the entire world hates them because the Creator is displeased with them, that He is standing behind all the nations of the world and treats them this way. We must explain that He does not like them in their current state. They are the people of Israel. This main emphasis should be on this.

For the world, the explanation must be somewhat different, about what the real reason for its suffering, and the way out. There the explanation must be more general.

With regard to Israel, the explanation is simpler. They have a direct problem with the Creator. They do not strive for adhesion with Him; this is the source of the problem.

With regard to the world, the problem is twofold. Each time they receive a blow because Israel is not corrected, and it does not bring them abundance from the Creator.

Here, the explanation must be more moderate, with the right approach so that it is not distorted and turned into even greater antisemitism, which not only will not help, but will also hinder the correct development, and then neither we nor the whole world will be worthy of good. The explanation must be comprehensive. The reason and the solution must be explained very clearly so that it cannot be interpreted differently.

That is, the explanation must be comprehensive and true. It is not easy.

How to Explain the Law of the Universe

269How can one rationally explain the general law of the universe? It is from two directions. First is from the human, social side of life. Here we can rely on scientists and philosophers of all kinds, who arrive at similar conclusions through their research.

They come to results that are very close to the idea that an upper force exists in the world that possesses reason and its own freewill, and that there are individual changes in relation to us that depend solely on it. That is, it is not a blind nature, but something referred to as an upper thought.

Scientists discover this even through their study of nature. I understand them very well in this because, in some way, I also came from that direction.

And from our side, we must, to the extent we can, explain the wisdom of Kabbalah and cleanse it from the assorted rubbish that has stuck to it. As much as we can, we must point people to what is written in the true, ancient sources. There is no person who would disregard them. They may be feared, but no one dismisses them entirely.

It is good if we manage to present these sources in such a way that, in addition to direct quotations, we also provide a very simple, easy explanation, one that can be absorbed by anyone quickly and effortlessly.

It must be something that is grasped instantly, even by a person with little understanding. After all, people today do not have time, cannot stay immersed in a thought for more than a few seconds, and their level of perception is very limited.

What does “quick and easy” mean? It means as close as possible to their Kelim (vessels), according to the law of equivalence of form. It should be that in order for them to perceive an idea, little effort is needed that each time they need to exert effort or overcome something in order to grasp the idea, that effort is very small, a slight reflection, and they have caught it, and with a little bit of thought, they have absorbed it.

Exactly like that. Just a little effort, and what I intended to pass on is already within them.

A Contradictory Nation

963.5Question: If we address the wider public, will we need to raise the topic of the group and show that it is a much more general concept?

Answer: I think the topic of the group is actually a very easy one to explain to the public. After all, the people of Israel are not a nation in the usual sense of the word.

At its foundation, it is a group of Kabbalists established by Abraham. The nation exists as a group, in collective responsibility, in relationships of equality by birth, always with a dismissive attitude toward money and honors.

Throughout all generations, the values of the nation were spiritual. If we add to this the antisemitism and general hatred from the world, it becomes clear that from both the side of good—the spiritual side, and the side of evil—the corporeal side, the entire nation is driven from two directions to exist as a group.

Therefore, this approach, when we speak about ourselves and include the entire nation in this process as a group, is very positive and truly resonates.

In the heart of each person, there is something that is rarely found in other nations, a sense of mutual dependence on one another. At the same time, the nation is split into factions that treat one another in extreme ways with hatred, with envy, which is something not seen in other nations.

A nation may be divided into several religions or parts that do not even interact, yet they allow each other to live. But here, that is not the case. There is no tolerance for division within the nation into factions.

We need to explain that, in fact, this is what brings all the evil that exists, that we are all responsible for one another “as one man with one heart.” The people already have a certain readiness for this: they understand that this is harmful, even on a corporeal level, and can also come to realize that, spiritually, this is damaging.

Become Spiritual Parents

963.5Question: How can there be a completely inner action if there is no calculation, foundation, or knowledge? What remains of an action that has no purpose that I can imagine, no result that I can feel?

Answer: When we give birth to our children, we understand that they are not capable of anything, that they cannot do anything. We simply have to support them, educate them, and fill them with knowledge and food. In general, we want to give them everything we can. It is our instinct.

The same is true in the science of Kabbalah. As soon as we become fit to be parents, that is, to generate new Kelim, the connections between them, and to raise them as much as possible to the level of connection with the Creator, we do it. Then we feel how the Creator helps us. Our entire connection becomes just for His sake.

Question: What does it mean to generate new Kelim?

Answer: It means to feel an emergence of a connection with the Creator that we have not had before. And so we move up the ladder.
