Question: How should we build an internal connection with our great teachers—with Baal HaSulam, Rabash, and with you, and through them with the authors of The Book of Zohar—in order to gradually approach an understanding of what they want to convey to us?

Answer: We must build our unity starting with the types of connections that now exist between us in mutual assistance and mutual connection with each other.

We can reach a state in which we exist as if in one body into which we will begin to receive the spiritual light—the light of The Book of Zohar.

And so we will gradually approach an understanding of what this book wants to tell us.

We need to perceive our teachers as closely as possible, as if they fill us. And the more we strive for them, the closer they will approach us. Eventually we will begin to feel them existing directly within us.

Answer: You must sacrifice everything that is in you in order to achieve greater unity with your friends.

Together you must be ready to sacrifice absolutely everything so as to rise above your egoism and be connected with each other and with the Creator.

Question: Should we also sacrifice some of our animalistic manifestations, views, and ideology?

Answer: No, not necessarily yet, and later you will see that they correct themselves.

Question: There are states when it is not at all difficult for a person to make efforts and the work itself brings him joy. But as soon as the desire increases, he cannot do even an ounce of what he did before. Why does spiritual work become a heavy burden for him?

Answer: You must ask the Creator for help and find out why you are given such heavy states. They can be caused by thousands of problems.

Question: What reaction does the Creator expect from us when sending us tasks and setting conditions?

Answer: The Creator wishes for you to be in absolute connection with each other and for Him to be able to reveal Himself within it. Then you will feel Him, will clearly fulfill all His laws, and in accordance with their implementation, ascend higher and higher on the rungs of the Sefirot and worlds.

Question: If the Creator helps Satan (evil spirits) and its influence increases, what is my freedom of choice?

Answer: Nature consists of two opposing forces. Your freedom of choice is always in the middle so that you would walk along the middle line and not the left or right.

Satan is egoism; the Creator does not help him or helps only to the extent necessary to balance your positive properties. In this case, He makes your desire correct and balanced on both sides of nature.

Question: We always begin the work in Lo Lishma (for the sake of receiving) and then are given the property of Lishma (for the sake of bestowal). At this point, the accuser asks, “Why are they being given these sublime things that they did not work for or hope for?” What is the cunningness of the accusation in this case?

Answer: The accuser is wrong because it is supposedly impossible to achieve the right state if you have not gone through the wrong ones. He thinks: how is it possible that someone is given the state of a righteous person when he was not a sinner and did not earn righteousness for himself?

Question: So he is confusing us because we did not earn it?

Answer: Yes, the fact is that what a person receives is what he deserves.

Question: How do I return to the internal part of the study when I feel a strong separation?

Answer: By efforts and only by efforts. Always be among friends and you will avoid separation.

Question: Why does Baal HaSulam’s article “He Who Ceases Words of Torah and Engages in Conversation” (Shamati, 234) categorically say not to interrupt Torah studies in any case? As if our achievements are going to be lost?

Answer: You cannot break away, not because your achievements will be lost, but because when you leave the Torah, you allow the opposite forces to take over you.

Question: What should you do if your family begins to oppress you because you have taken up Kabbalah and begun to teach you how to live? What should one do?

Answer: Bow your head quietly, listen to what they say, and promise them that you will devote less time to this.

Question: Is a mutual request to the Creator enough to connect us and do everything the way He wants, or is it still necessary to scrutinize where we are and what we need now?

Answer: Do what you can. Ask the Creator for what you think is necessary, and you will gradually learn how to turn to Him and rise in asking questions.

Question: What should we do with envy that suddenly emerges and instantly burns everything? Is there a way to get ahead so it does not cause harm?

Answer: Pray always that envy does not defeat you, but that you would defeat envy.

Question: When we read an article together, is it worthwhile interrupting for discussion, or is it better to finish reading to the end, even if there is no time left for discussion?

Answer: It is better to read the article to the end.
