Knowledge that Lasts Forever

963.4Comment: Every day, you record a significant amount of video and audio material.

My Response: I cannot do otherwise; I have to produce it. The task of organizing this material will fall to my students in the future. Even now, however, the material is gradually being structured, and forms various messages and programs.

I always aim to provide the most I can for the present moment. It is not possible to rush ahead since people would not be able to understand me. I do not create for “someday” or for things to remain unused; I share my work with those who are capable of applying it today. Tomorrow others will come and join today’s students, and the process will continue.

Although time is limited, ideally we would revisit all our materials each year, and adapt them to the new wave, the new state, and the new degree we have reached. But even if we do not revisit everything, the outcome is the same. People establish a foundation and over time are able to reinterpret earlier knowledge in light of their new understanding.

Question: Does that mean that this knowledge will be useful regardless?

Answer: Undoubtedly. Additionally, we are moving back toward an eternal, perfect spiritual system where every effort we contribute becomes a permanent part of it. In other words, what I produce today, even if no one in the world hears it, still enters this system, remains there, and is assimilated by humanity in this world.

It becomes a part of humanity’s collective knowledge, which makes it easier for future generations to connect with it.

Get Information Out Into the World

961.2Question: Is it important that you give out some new pieces of information every day?

Answer: Yes, my teacher, Rabash, often spoke to me about this. He would look at me with a detached, unfocused gaze, and just talk and talk because he needed to speak out to someone.

Speak out! So that this information would remain hanging in the air, passed through someone (whether understood or not, it didn’t matter), enter the world, and exist within it. Later, people will be drawn to it, discover it, and it will be easier for them to reveal it.

Question: So is it essential to verbalize this information?

Answer: Verbalizing means a great deal. That is why we are called “speaking beings” (Medaber). This is our level; it is what distinguishes us from animals.

Comment: But we are talking about this on a physical level.

My Response: It does not matter. You express information from within yourself. Speaking means building semantic blocks within.

Question: What if someone simply talks to themselves? Does the information have to pass through someone else?

Answer: Preferably it is through someone else. For example, for Baal HaSulam transmitting information through others was not enough; he would write and then burn material. It did not matter anymore because the information had already entered the world, resonated, fulfilled its role, and from then on, the world continued to exist with it.

Spiritual information is not physical. It is not something you need to receive, compress, package, extract, or process. No, it operates on entirely different carriers.

Talks about the Steps of the Ladder, Part 43

Talks about the Steps of the Ladder, Part 43

How Can We Control an Uncorrectable Desire?

We must not use a desire that we cannot correct, except with the awareness that it remains uncorrected. There should be criticism and awareness.

We cannot correct a desire independently. Rather, our efforts bring about change from above. The reforming light corrects our desire. Without this light, no forced effort can achieve correction.

When Does My “I” Become Independent?

235Why did the Creator create it so that we can awaken Him by being directed toward Him so that we can be transformed to resemble Him? What is the purpose of this?

The Creator created us with qualities vastly different from His own so that we could independently discover who we should become.

On one hand, we are meant to stand with the Creator as two interlocuters, opposite to each other, as if standing opposite each other, not in the physical sense, but in the sense of our attributes, actions, and desires. His nature and our nature must be against each other. This distinction allows us to feel that there is Him and there is me.

On the other hand, we are to reach a state of similarity to Him. To the extent of this similarity, we will begin to perceive and understand each other and form a connection. This connection will occur between two independent components: each of us and all of us together with the Creator.

We must understand that there are certain conditions with us and the Creator, which are initially set in such a way does not nullify or destroy us so that we do not succumb to His influence, and disappear in Him under His dominance or under the fact that He determines everything.

The Creator is the sole force that exists, and “There is none else besides Him.” Yet He is obligated to remain concealed and maintain a distance between us and Him to allow us to exist.

If the Creator’s influence were fully revealed, then we would simply have disappeared. It did not happen in the sense that, although the Creator created the desire to receive within Himself and began to develop it this desire would be completely under His power, and then the creation would not to exist. It would blindly fulfill the will of the Creator without even feeling that it exists.

The fact is that the existence of a person means one’s oppositeness to the upper force that creates, nurtures, and influences it in various ways. That is, if I am opposite to it, contrary to it, or disagree with it, then my “self” exists. And upon this “self” various additions can be made, called “clothing,” that make me similar to Him, even though inwardly I am not. Then I exist and He exists, and I make myself like Him to the extent that I understand Him, reveal Him, and come in contact with Him.

Through All Possible States

281.01Question: What prevents a person from praying to the Creator from the depth of his heart?

Answer: What prevents us from praying from the depths of our truest inner, real desires? Egoistic desires themselves. They do not give us the opportunity to correctly address the Creator until, as a result of numerous efforts, we begin to feel them more acutely and are able to direct them to the Creator. Everything is done in such a way as to bring us to a state of adhesion with the Creator, not to separation from Him.

Look at yourself now: some of you are sleeping, some are half asleep, some are in a more real state, and some are even in an excited state. Through this, the Creator reveals to us our actual relationship with each other and with Him. This will continue until we start to feel this more deeply and begin to live within these states internally.

The entire surrounding world, everything we imagine, will begin to feel external to us. The world will be perceived as a means to deepen the internal connection between us and the Creator.

This process will gradually unfold within us, and it will happen. You listen more, feel more, and try not to fall asleep during the lesson, you resist that state. Through this, you will eventually begin to experience the next stages.

All of this is given to you deliberately. There is no such thing as fatigue or any other reasons from our world—nothing like that! These are purely spiritual causes. There is nothing physical here, only importance. And importance arises from going deeper into the search for the feeling of the Creator.

A Lever to Turn Yourself Upside Down

219.04Can I egoistically wish to love others, and egoistically care for them? Yes, I can.

If I see that a person who cares for others receives respect, attention, and honor from them, then I have a feeling of envy. And it is very strong because it belittles my current state and says: “You are worthless. Look how he is respected, loved, and appreciated; what attention they give him. And you?”

And then, in spite of everything, I am ready to make an effort so that I too will develop the quality of bestowal. If a person is respected for this, then I am ready to bestow.

We are willing to work in our world for attention and recognition because they elevate us and please our ego. Here a certain lever appears, which is also egoistic, but it is a lever with which I can turn myself upside down.

This is precisely how we can advance.

Develop a Taste for Spiritual Work

237Question: How can you ask for others when you feel like you have lost the taste for it?

Answer: That is actually a good thing.

Question: Should I continue working mechanically?

Answer: Absolutely! Working mechanically is the best thing you can do. It is the beginning of a new degree.

The thing is, when there is no taste, you are not demanding anything for yourself. When there is no taste, no desire, you are able to pray for others. But this is a small state.

A big state is when you deeply desire to fulfill yourself, yet you still pray for others. Right now you are being prepared for that.

So pray for others and you will see that taste will appear: “But what about me?! What’s happening to me?”—and this is how you will gradually rise above these desires.

Pray for the Entire Society

947We need to try to feel the collective that will be present at the congress and pray for everyone, including even ourselves. Rabash writes that a person must pray for the entire society, for the entire world Kli, and include oneself within it.

The essence is that when I imagine the souls, I must also imagine that the Creator is present precisely within them. And within me? Within me, He exists in a form that prompts me to relate to Him and to this collective in a special way.

In principle, He distinguishes me negatively, as if I am not like this collective: He is within them, but not within me. The Creator desires for me to awaken His revelation within myself in a specific manner.

The most important thing is to pray for others as if they were your own child. It is very simple. If you pray for them in this way, it means you are integrating into the correct relationship with the Creator because He also relates to everyone as to His children, whom He wishes to nurture and elevate.

Then you will form a connection with Him, similarity to Him, and an understanding of Him. Suddenly you will begin to feel His attitude toward everyone, through which you will come to understand yourself and your mission. This is the most reliable path.

You become the Creator’s partner. After all, each of us must become His conduit and similar to Him, which means that you act as you believe the Creator acts in the world.
