How Is the Inner Impression Formed?
The inner impression is the result of our desire to connect with the Creator. As it is written, we need to make an effort to be in connection: “Israel, the Torah, and the Creator are one.” We must yearn to grasp hold of the Creator through actions that He advises us to perform.
These actions exist above the barrier, but similar actions also exist below the barrier. The sum of all the actions we undertake to prepare our vessels to go above the barrier is called “from Lo Lishma to Lishma,” “the maidservant of holiness,” and so on.
