The Path to a Spiritual State

232.05Question: It is more or less clear what it means to go against the mind. But what does it mean to go against the heart?

Answer: It means to go against one’s feelings. A person is guided by how much he can elevate himself above both the mind and the heart. This is what constitutes his spiritual state.

By rising above these two points: Mocha (mind) and Liba (heart), a person reaches a spiritual state.

This should be felt in a person’s feelings. The mind alone is worth nothing; feelings are what matter. Thoughts and reason are secondary to desire.
