Life is felt in the desire to receive pleasure that exists in everyone. This desire ruins our ability to perceive objective reality since “all who condemn do so through their own defect.” The wisdom of Kabbalah calls what exists prior to the person’s perception by the name of “Atzmuto” (“His Essence”), the primordial root. This primordial power is the Light that created and also influences the desire to receive. It projects a three-dimensional picture of the world within us that changes according to changes in our desires. To get the best picture of reality, we must understand the thought of the Light, which is to bestow to others. We must become more like the Light.
