Today we discover that all the problems lie in our ego. Evidently, if we change, upgrade it, in so doing we will rise to the next degree.
In essence, this is the path human development always takes: Initially each new phase seems to be something wonderful, bright, convenient, and progressive. Each shift of social formations promises a new, beautiful life. And then, after we’ve gotten acquainted with yet another formation, having lived in it for a while, we discover that it’s not quite so wonderful. Subsequent development reveals negative sensations, facts, and states. And although we keep advancing, all the negatives keep accumulating, and at a certain point we can no longer bear it.
Then, for want of any other option, revolutions erupt, wars are waged, or we manage to come to an understanding and achieve great changes at the bifurcation, that is, breakthrough point. Thus we are transformed, arriving at new values and a new life philosophy, and starting development at the next phase.
Evidently, today we stand before one such transition. The former state has become a negative one, and we see its problem, our ego, which demolishes all our foundations. Not one of the elements from our former life is working. And this clearly means that our today’s nature demands change.
Herein lies the uniqueness of our new state. After all, never before have we changed human nature. Each time we have simply shifted onto a higher degree of development, like switching gears to accelerate. But now that we’ve reached the fifth gear and are going at max speed, the engine has suddenly gone haywire. And we can’t keep driving further with it anymore.
Accordingly, we must change the paradigm, the values, the goal, the fuel, the engine itself. This is what makes our current situation and the new period we’re entering special.
We must change human nature, this egoistic engine which has always pushed us to develop, consume, feel, understand, and discover something new. Today it doesn’t work anymore, it cannot drive us forward. And that is why we must change the natural force of development.

In the News (from Scientific American): “Human populations have faced bottlenecks over time that put them in peril. Evolutionary biologist Mark Pagel believes that humans overcame these forces by banding together in larger groups, which may have propelled their brain capacity to greater heights.
“In Wired for Culture, Pagel proposes that humans learn best through imitation. Aggregating into larger clusters allowed social learning to truly flourish, ultimately leading to the formation of societies, technology and culture.
“Humans are unique among other primates, however, in that they did more than simply pick up the latest spear technology by observing and mimicking their peers. As they developed more complex communication skills, they were able to adapt and pass on these tactics to the next generation.
“Yet this collaborative spirit did not extend to make humans altruistic, Pagel concludes. As a species, we join forces only with those whom we trust and whose actions we anticipate will be similar to our own. In fact, he proposes that thousands of different languages exist in the world because we are inclined to promote trust within our own social circles but confusion among outsiders. Language allowed us to pass along individual cultures as much as it segregated, and even protected, us from different ones.”
My Comment: That’s why today, because of the integrality of the world community, there is a need for a single language and culture. But in any case, unification led to evolutionary development, both quantitative and qualitative.

In the News (from BBC News): “People of working age who live alone increase their risk of depression by up to 80% compared with people living in families, says a Finnish study. It says the main factors are poor housing conditions for women and a lack of social support for men, who are both equally affected.
“The study tracked the use of antidepressants in 3,500 Finnish people.
“A mental health charity said people who lived alone must be given outlets to talk about their problems.
“The study authors highlight the fact that the proportion of one-person households in Western countries has increased during the past three decades, with one in every three people in the US and the UK living alone.
“‘This kind of study usually underestimates risk because the people who are at the most risk tend to be the people who are least likely to complete the follow up. We were also not able to judge how common untreated depression was.’
“Living alone, the study said, could be linked with feelings of isolation and a lack of social integration and trust, which are risk factors for mental health.
“Beth Murphy, head of information at mental health charity Mind, said the rise in the number of people living alone had had a clear impact on the nation’s mental health.
“’It is therefore essential that people who live alone are given the most appropriate treatment such as talking therapies, which provide safe, supportive environments to discuss and work through problems, rather than simply being left to rely solely on antidepressants.’”
My Comment: That is why they should study at the classes of integral upbringing—to acquire a special society that creates waves of positive connection, closeness, and love in every participant. Then, we will be able to conduct a research study and show how much we managed to increase their level of happiness, confidence, and psychological and physical health, and how much the criminal and suicide rates went down.
In our address to society, we should reach out to lonely people and explain to them that precisely in our circle they will find warmth and the support of the environment. The collapse of the institution of marriage is intended to show people that they need to build their relationships on a different level, the level of unconditional bestowal and love, rather than on beastly attraction.

Depression In Modern Life
It’s impossible to solve the problems of modern society in any way but by education that will teach a person to live in an integral world, will help him rebuild the connections we have lost with our children, our spouse, the boss at work, the authorities, the world, and all of nature, including the pets at home. A person must learn to establish external ties, which means that he must learn how to exit himself and start connecting with someone on the outside, even with his pet cat.
Our future depends on how we learn to establish the right connections among us so that everyone, by keeping his uniqueness, will learn to express himself in society. First we must stop blaming life and complaining about what’s happening. All the negative phenomena in society and in the family, which we witness these days, are a result of our development. We should stop, make a cut through the current situation, and study it carefully, taking into account all the statistics.
Second, we should study the history that has brought us to this situation. From this point onwards, by learning about the events that led to this point and examining the statistics on the current state, we will continue to study the future trend. We have to understand that this development will take place one way or the other, whether we like it or not. If we resist, nature will force us to follow this track. But if we aspire for this development by ourselves, we will advance quickly, easily, and pleasantly.
The natural trend of development is a general connection, worldwide integrality. So we have to learn to adapt ourselves by ourselves to all the future events that lead us to such an integral connection, in order to go through them easily and wisely. Just as we prepare children for life, we have to prepare ourselves now for the new future life. This involves every aspect of our life, the relations in the family, with our spouse, with the kids, and with the whole world. I wish you all luck!

Being My Own Instructor
Is The Solution In Education Of Women?
By acting against our ego and connecting more strongly, we go through 125 degrees of ascent that are divided into Sefirot, Partzufim, and worlds. The stronger we connect the more we feel the inner power that connects us, called the Creator. Thus we go through five worlds: Assiya, Yetzira, Beria, Atzilut, and Adam Kadmon and rise to the world of Infinity. We learn about all these states in the wisdom of Kabbalah and embody them in practice internally.
In order to fulfill this more efficiently, we have conventions. It’s very good that there are people from all over the world who don’t know one another in the convention hall: men, women, veteran students that have been studying for years, and those who have just heard about the wisdom of Kabbalah and as if “by chance” have come to this convention. The connection among everyone is possible and doesn’t require any early preparation.
If we try to connect practically, we begin to feel that something is happening inside: A special force is being revealed between us, which as if didn’t exist before and which we haven’t felt. This force is only revealed in our world when we begin to work, by actually carrying out the advice of Kabbalists, and then we discover the force of connection between us.
Therefore, Kabbalists were happy about every opportunity to connect. They understood that thanks to this action we can attain correction and see the spiritual reality that is above us, to discover the force that manages us and leads us to a certain goal.
It’s the only way that we can look at ourselves from above, as at those who exist in the corporeal bodies, and to discover the upper worlds, the states that are above this world. It’s the only way we can see that this world isn’t real and to receive new attributes, new senses, that enable us to see the upper spiritual dimension that rises above the corporeal world, and to live in the two worlds at the same time. We feel this to such an extent that a person begins to feel eternity and perfection and isn’t afraid of death at all.
He will not feel when his body dies, just as he doesn’t feel when he has his hair or nails cut. This is because the corporeal body belongs to the animate level, while the hair and nails belong to the vegetative level, meaning a lower level. So if we rise to an upper level, called the human level, which is symbolized by the connection among us, we cease to worry about losing the beastly body, the body can live or die, while we exist on a higher level of existence, which we have attained.
This is what we should reach and this is the goal of the wisdom of Kabbalah: to raise a person to the next level, to eternal existence so that we will not live in a beastly body but the life of the soul. The soul is the feeling that is created within our connection. So the purpose of all these explanations is to attain the only goal—connection.
We perform the act of connection in the conventions so that through this connection, as a small part of the general correction, we will feel spiritual life. Thus, we create one system of Adam HaRishon (the First Man), by bringing his parts together and discovering the spiritual life in which the upper system, the general soul, lives.
