New Life 804 – The Secret Of The Greek Culture’s Power

New Life 804 – The Secret Of The Greek Culture’s Power
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches how a person can ascend above his mind, above reason.

Greek philosophy stems from information Greek philosophers took from the wisdom of Kabbalah, but they did not know how to realize it. To this day we follow the Greek approach. A person develops his reason and thinks that it will do him good.

Every individual can ascend above reason to a new higher level. The world is the reality I perceive. If you expand your instruments of perception, you catch more. Kabbalah tells us how to advance to a different perception of reality.

After we developed the whole world according to the Greek approach, we see that we have achieved nothing. Our emotions tell us that we have not achieved anything as a result of developing our mind, and Kabbalah offers a new approach, which is first of all emotional. It enables a person to open life unlimitedly.

New Life 473 – The Miracles And Wonders

New Life 473 – The Miracles And Wonders
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

What is a miracle according to the wisdom of Kabbalah? What is special about the miracle that happened on Hanukkah and what can we do so that this miracle will also happen in our days and remove all the troubles and distress in the world?

A miracle is something that happens against the laws of nature. The Torah, or more precisely the wisdom of Kabbalah, which is considered the wisdom of truth, explains what a miracle is.

It seems that the world is managed by the force of the ego. A miracle is when the action of the opposite force is revealed, the force of love. There are two lines in our development: the natural egoistic flow and the hidden force of love above it.

Lucky charms, blessings, etc. have nothing to do with miracles or something supernatural. These are simply things that empower a person psychologically.

We had to fight the force of the ego that separated us and to connect in love in order to defeat the Greeks. A miracle occurs only after great efforts to ascend above the ego, but we don’t succeed and need help. The same war repeats itself in every generation. The force of the ego dominates us and we need to connect in love.

There is terrible corruption in Israel but it is actually from the greatest darkness that the Light is revealed. If people begin to connect, the whole world will change its attitude toward us, and will carry us in their arms. Today we behave according to the egoistic Greek approach, and this is the reason that the world hates us.

Everyone suffers from the lack of connection. Israel has to be an example of living in connection and love. This is the meaning of being Light unto the nations of the world. This will be the great Hanukkah miracle of our times.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is being revealed today in order to teach us how to connect despite our big ego. There is a special merit in the wisdom of Kabbalah: it is aimed at reaching a miracle, meaning at the switch in human nature.

New Life 792 – From Consumerism To Spirituality

New Life 792 – From Consumerism To Spirituality
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Today we measure a person by his assets; status symbols are important to us and we live in constant competition.

Human nature is the desire to enjoy. A person aspires to fill his desire in every action that he performs, like buying something for himself, for example.

Today our ego demands filling and we don’t know how to fill it. The consumer culture today is characterized by buying things that we actually don’t need as a result of advertising that creates this need in us. A person’s self disappears; he doesn’t think about anything and only worries about having money in his pocket.

The only way to break out of the consumerism cycle is through new comprehensive social education. A person must have a greater goal in life, something whole and eternal.

The next product we will market to humanity will be the essence of life, through which a person will contact eternity. A person aspires to ascend above life and death; he refuses to feel limited

New Life 470 – Hanukkah Then And Now

New Life 470 – Hanukkah Then And Now
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

What special meaning awakens from this holiday specifically nowadays, and why in each generation do they rise up to destroy us, and what miracle do we expect to happen for?

Hanukkah talks about ideological clashes between two approaches to life: materialistic versus spiritual. The Jewish elite adopted the materialistic approach from the Greeks. They abandoned the altruistic approach of love of others.

Abraham taught connecting with love, being one, and discovering the one supreme force. When we unite and become one, we are similar to the one supreme force, and then it shines on us. But a connection like this requires a struggle against the egoistic tendencies that naturally awake in us.

When we stopped working on connection, we lost the connection with the upper force, the Light of life left the world. As a result, troubles from the outside world come upon us. They forced us to once again connect. It happens in waves. Today we are in a similar state. We live in Israel, but there is no connection and love between us during normal times.

During two thousand years we were living among the other nations of the world and caused their development There is an upper energy in nature called Light, which can connect between differences. Our task is to bring this Light to everyone. We want to be as Europe is, each one for himself and to just be left alone. And this is anti-Israel. Mutual guarantee is the foundation of the nation of Israel and without it we have no right to exist.

The darkness of day is the lack of our ability to grasp that if we don’t unite, we are not a nation. Strong egoistic urges awaken in us, hatred and separation, so that we can help each other to rise. Each person is like a keg of gasoline, which can explode at any moment. It is specifically from within the great darkness that the Light arrives.

Hanukkah symbolizes that the world is waiting for us for the Light, for the force of life that will connect everything in harmony.

New Life 469 – The Meaning Of Hanukkah

New Life 469 – The Meaning Of Hanukkah
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

What is the meaning of the holiday of Hanukkah, what do we celebrate and what is the important role we have toward the whole world that it reminds us of?

The nation of Israel was born from the mutual commitment to be as one man with one heart, with love of others. Whenever there is separation between us, others rise up to destroy us. Then something comes to remind us we need to unite.

We also need to increase love between us in the family, until we become “All Israel are friends.” Today, in Israel, there are many security threats. If we unite between us, everything will disappear.

The miracle of the oil symbolizes that it is possible to reach the Light, the upper force, that will help us to connect. The Temple symbolizes the connection between the hearts when they become one large heart. The menorah symbolizes what we attained: through connection it’s possible to be rescued from all problems and to defeat everything.

The Maccabees symbolize the tendency to connect, and they awaken the whole of Israel from its hibernation. Man himself includes the Greeks, the Hellenists, and the Maccabees. The Greeks symbolize the egoistic attributes, the Maccabees symbolize the small tendency to connect and to love, the point in the heart. If man wants to find these forces of the soul, he can win the inner war within himself.

The Hellenists symbolize the Jewish tendency to be like Europe, each one only for himself.

The Jewish spirit is to be connected and loving, to discover the upper force between us, and to bring Light to the nations. Jewish life is when everyone is concerned about everyone else and each one thinks of how he can do good for the collective.

When we as Israelis adopt the European approach of individualism, we have no Light.

The world depends on the Light that we bring, the energy of life. The lack of Light brings hatred to Israel.

When there is no mutual concern and everyone is for only for himself, troubles befall a person. And when there is connection and love, then everything works out, i.e., at home, with the children and the family, with health, and at work.

At the political level, if we ignite the Light between us and light up the world, the world’s attitude toward Israel will change for the better.

Fantasies And Reality, Part 5

Laitman_201_03Question: What is the meaning of our life if, as it turns out, we see the world though the egoistic glasses that show us the imaginary world?

Answer: The meaning of life is in making a decision that life is pitiful and that from it, we have to rise to the upper reality. The difference between these two types of reality defines the power of our spiritual attainment.

Question: And what is so wrong with our current reality?

Answer: First of all, it is wrong because it is illusory. Science already knows that what we see in front of us is a holographic picture, while actually there is not a single Universe, but many.

The egoistic, materialistic, development of science leads it to the limit of the materialistic comprehension of the world and brings it to a dead end. Science is in crisis because it can not advance and make further discoveries. Only one thing is clear: We have reached a borderline.

Until we discover the upper force, the entire world will remain an illusion. We exist inside the computer and we have to change our perception. Being only at the still, vegetative, and animate degrees of perception, we’ll remain inside the same computer program as now; after all, nothing can be changed there.

But on the human level, in our relationship between the people, we acquire a new program called a program of bestowal instead of reception. And inside of it, we start feeling the upper reality, filled with the force called the Creator.

It turns out that we take off our egoistic glasses, which we used to see the world only through the point of view of personal benefit, through the will to receive. And now we see the world through the prism of desire to fulfill the other, to give, to love, and that is why we see an undistorted reality.

“What is good for me” is an illusory reality, and “what is good for others” is the true one. Illusory, egoistic reality drastically differs from the true reality, and that is why we often argue and do not agree with each other, even those closest to us. Because now, each of us has their own truth.

In true reality, everybody will have one opinion, one intention, since everyone will care about the other, and not about himself. And that is why there will be no arguments between us, but only connection and completion of each other.

Everybody will rise above his or her personal egoism and will try to satisfy the other’s needs, to fulfill the other’s desires. And that is why love and unity will always prevail between us. Can there be any conflicts if I constantly think about how to fulfill the desires of a fellow human being?

We will soon come to this state, we have no other choice. Evolution itself and current global crisis will bring us to the new reality. By rising above egoism, we raise ourselves above time, space, and movement, above the petty egoistic desires toward the desire of the upper force, which is bestowal and love.

The only true reality is the force of bestowal, the force of love. We have to take off all egoistic glasses we wear now and see the true reality.

New Life 654 – Hanukkah: Light And Darkness In Life

New Life 654 – Hanukkah: Light And Darkness In Life
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

The desire to enjoy: If I am the one who benefits, the Light doesn’t enjoy, darkness. There are more upper desires that aren’t in us from birth—the desire to fill others, to give, to bestow. It isn’t the bestowing that brings us joy, but rising above the ego, in this way man becomes the source of light.

Then a person matches the general source of Light in nature, the Creator, discovers Him, and feels immense pleasure.

Spiritual life is connecting to the source of Light and the influence of the Light on others; today, our duty is to learn this. The pursuit of fulfilling your private desires is the “Greeks” and bestowing fulfillment to others is the “Maccabees.” The real development of your personality is only when you learn to be equivalent to the Creator, meaning bestowing.

The Greeks sanctified the ego, pleasure for oneself with no consideration of others, only one’s personal achievements. The Jewish approach says that in this way we destroy ourselves and the world, like a cancerous growth that swallows everything. The pursuit of fulfilling your private desires brings you a little spark of light here and there, nothing more than that.

The Jewish approach is that it is possible to attain great Light only when you, yourself become the source of Light. And then man becomes eternal and complete, and bursts through all borders of perception, and becomes equal to the upper force.

When you become the source of Light for others, you become unlimited. You don’t have to produce Light, but to be the source of Light, with the Light passing through you, like an electric outlet. When you want to pass Light from one to the other, you discover that everyone is connected to a network and connected to the source of life. An unending stream of energy fills our emotions, intellect, consciousness; it is the life of the soul.

Today we give and receive from within the desire to exploit all for our own benefit. Spirituality is loving one another. It’s not just to understand what this is, you should come and study seriously and achieve this in practice.

Hanukkah is the holiday of light, we need to learn to ignite the Light through connection between us. When we connect to others, their emotions and intellect pass to us. And we become infinitely smarter and more sensitive. My blessing for Hanukkah is for the Light to come between us and fill us and direct us to the good upper life.

New Life 656 – From Greece To ISIS

New Life 656 – From Greece To ISIS
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Today there is no Greek approach with Greek mythology, etc. in the world. This approach later developed into Christianity. Islam is occupying the stage today, assuring people of a good life here and heaven immediately if people just agree to join their ideology.

The goal of extremist Islam is to scare Europeans so they will be afraid to leave their houses. In contrast to Islam, Judaism never forced itself on anyone. Eventually extremist Islam and Christianity will come against Israel.

The Maccabee perception says that we must unite with love and destroy the Greeks among us, the forces of separation. Within “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) we discover “And you shall love the Lord your God” (Deuteronomy 6:5), the upper force in nature. Mattathias the Hasmonean said: “Whoever is for the Creator, follow me”—this was an invitation to connect to life with the force of love and bestowal.

Today the call, “Whoever is for the Creator, follow me,” is directed to all of humanity.

New Life 655 – The Greek Approach And The Maccabee Approach

New Life 655 – The Greek Approach And The Maccabee Approach
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Since ancient times people have asked themselves why they are living. The first to discover the goal of life was Adam HaRishon (the First Man). He discovered that the goal of life is to upgrade the manner in which we perceive reality.

We are living in a wide reality and perceive only a narrow aspect of it because we filter everything through: “What is good for me.”

Adam HaRishon discovered that it is possible to change this perception to “What is good for others” “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18). And that is how we absorb an unlimited reality that is actually a single, higher force, and we are within it.

Twenty generations after that, Abraham came. In ancient Babylon there was a crisis of egoism, and he taught how to transcend it. Those who succeeded in going out of themselves to the altruistic reception of reality became the people of Israel. This group continued to develop, the ego constantly grew, and they transcended it more and more. Pharaoh, Egypt, Torah, the Land of Israel—the ego grew again, the Maccabees against the Greeks. This is constantly talking about a war of perception.

The ego continued to grow; the people are living today in an egoistic perception of reality, except for a few individual Kabbalists. Today, it is apparent that it is impossible to continue; the ego is destroying the world, everyone hates each other. We have no choice but to return to the approach of Kabbalah, the perception of reality through “And you shall love your friend as yourself.”

New Life 653 – Hanukkah: World Correction

New Life 653 – Hanukkah: World Correction
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

We are constantly progressing into greater darkness since the world is run by the growing strength of the ego. At present, we are about to end the period of the developing ego, the era of the ego has run its course. On the one hand, wars and suffering, on the other hand, education and awareness; either way, we are advancing toward the era of balance with nature.

It’s possible to continue to try to correct the world instead of correcting the person, but it won’t help. The darkness comes because we are not connected to each other, we don’t take advantage of each other, and our problems come from this.

Hanukkah symbolizes awakening; people are realizing that only connection can save them. The Greek perception tells us that we don’t have to correct ourselves but to correct the world, which is opposite to Judaism. How can we calibrate ourselves correctly? By connecting “as one man with one heart,” then you will see everything correctly. Today, the Greek egoistic approach has gone bankrupt and requires a new approach of connection and balance.

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us that we see the world through distorted glasses and these should be replaced. We need to kill the Greek paradigm that existed between us and move on to the perception of the world according to the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The answer to the problems with ecology? The Greek approach says “climate summit”; the wisdom of Kabbalah says education, closeness, and connection. Today, we are leading the world with the Greek concept—science and technology—instead of correcting the person. The essence of the war between the Greeks and the Maccabees was about who needed the correction, the world or man.
