New Life 798 – Differences In Sensory Perception

New Life 798 – Differences In Sensory Perception
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

There are differences in people’s perception of reality, as there are differences in tastes.

The five senses are characterized by the distance from what is perceived: sight is the sense that perceives from the greatest distance and touch is the sense that perceives from the closest distance since it involves contact.

There are waves beyond what our senses perceive. We are surrounded by infinite Light, by unlimited waves, but we perceive through the limitations of our senses.

Our instruments of perception are operated by our desire, by a sense of lack. We can develop our desire to unlimited dimensions by changing our attitude to other people. If reality becomes more important to me than myself, my perception expands, just like a mother who feels her baby. What we feel through our senses operates on our desire, and this is how an experience is created.

It is impossible to penetrate another person and to feel how he actually perceives reality since our internal nature is concealed from us; a person doesn’t even really know himself. No matter how much we try, we have no access to a person’s internality; we don’t know how and there is nothing to investigate about ourselves. We have to study the upper nature, the upper operating system, and to be like it.

Even if we could assemble all the senses of all the animals together in ourselves, we would end up with nothing more than an elaborate animal.

The method of developing our perception is called the wisdom of Kabbalah; it teaches us how to perceive unlimited waves. To perceive the unlimited reality, a person needs a new receiver to receive what is external to him, not what is inside him.

New Life 803 – The Illusion Of Liberalism

New Life 803 – The Illusion Of Liberalism
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

“Liberalism” and “democracy” are nice words, but in practice, they don’t really exist. The elites have always been “siphoning” everything for themselves while the lower classes starve. The time has come for us to sober up!

In other forms of government, the truth was at least clear and the illusion of equality wasn’t sold to the people. We cannot call our development progress because people today are much more cruel. Today there are many unemployed. This trend will only increase due to technology. Society stands at the crossroads.

A person will seemingly be free, yet he will not actually have anything to feed his family. Even a fascistic approach, which is intensifying in the world today, will not bring a solution. We are modern slaves, told by the media that we are free.

The connection between the individual and society needs to be corrected, like in a family with warm, secure, mutual, loving connection. In Russia they tried to build communism by force, through oppression. Society and those who stand at its head must particularly be concerned about this, ministers and government officials today are concerned only about themselves.

Society must relate to the individual like a child in the family and must take care of his needs to benefit him. A society that is conducted like a family will be able to be built through an education for connection; the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches how to do this. There is a special force in the wisdom of Kabbalah that can change a person’s egoistic nature. If we don’t learn the method for correcting human nature from the wisdom of Kabbalah, fascism and world war are in our future.

New Life 802 – What Will The Next Form Of Government Be?

New Life 802 – What Will The Next Form Of Government Be?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

As of today the world is a “small village,” but the problem is that human nature has remained egoistic.

A person has a natural urge for social life. He also needs a society to support himself, so he developed the economy, but we cannot succeeded in satisfying ourselves because the ego is constantly growing.

The family is an example of the kind of social relationships we must move toward. Philosophers have long understood that it is necessary to correct human nature, but they don’t know how to do this. Today relationships between people are so bad that even the family unit is falling apart. Only by constructing all of society as a family will we succeed in restoring the family unit.

There is a special power that we can bring into our lives to correct our nature.
It is our duty to move toward familial relationships because the world is in crisis. “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) will be the next form of societal connection. We have no other choice.

New Life 799 – The Desire Behind The Senses

New Life 799 – The Desire Behind The Senses
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

The way our senses function can change during a person’s lifetime according to how his desire and his needs develop. When a person doesn’t want to be in touch with reality, he shuts down his senses and dies. Old people’s will power gradually diminishes. A person doesn’t control his desire. It is the desire that controls a person.

Intuition is a feeling we have when something is perceived by our desire, yet not in all its layers, only by part of it. A mother feels the baby she has carried in her womb even when he is external to her. They remain connected. Our world is full of different connections we don’t see. There is infinite information in the air.

A person can correct his vessels of perception and discover the true reality. It depends on his desire. The new sensory system is called the soul, and in it, we perceive the reality that is external to us.
This reality is a force field of bestowal, giving and love.
The goal is to bring a person to a state in which he perceives this reality in an unlimited manner.

New Life 472 – The Contrast Between The Greek Approach And The Jewish Approach

New Life 472 – The Contrast Between The Greek Approach And The Jewish Approach
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

What can we learn about man by the contrast between the Greek approach and the Jewish approach? Where is the system of nature leading us, and according to which approach should we act in order to bestow goodness unto the world?

Hellenization is a perception of reality according to which man is whole and does not need to correct his nature. There is an opposite approach that says from the outset our nature is evil and we need to correct it. The difference stems from the question of who is more important: me or others?

The Jews were different from everyone else since the days of Abraham, as they considered the other more important than oneself. Thanks to this approach, they perceived reality in a totally different manner. They saw the upper world and discovered the upper force. Their unique approach to life is not abstract but is very practical and can be applied in our daily life.

Today we have to return to the perception of the world that stems from connection and love and lead everyone to this. Humanity needs to develop the ability to feel the upper force. The word “Creator – Bore” stems from the Hebrew words “Bo  reh – come and see” the upper reality.

The process of exiting our self interest takes place according to a special method, in a group of people. Every person is born with the Greek perception and has to develop the human spirit in him, the Jewish approach. Developing the attribute of bestowal and love of others develops the sense with which he can feel the upper world, the world of giving.

New Life 471 – The Hellenization Process Then And Now

New Life 471 – The Hellenization Process Then And Now
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Which world views represents the Greek ideology in contrast to the Jewish world view? How will it help us understand the true reality if we understand them, and how is this related to the meaning of Hanukkah?

The Jewish people were educated to love others, to ascend above the egoism. They were on a spiritual height. Jewish ideology is totally different from any other ideology: the body in contrast to the soul.

Philosophy and science are also perceived in our ego so they are considered earthly. We perceive the world by absorbing it and we have developed this perception into science. For everything beyond this there is mythology.

In Judaism it is the opposite: a person does not perceive internally, inside himself,  but exits himself in love and bestowal.

We naturally perceive the world through a filter of “what do I gain from this.” And we can transcend that. When we change our approach to reality, we perceive a wide reality that is whole and eternal.

This is what the Macabbees fought for. Today we all perceive the world according to the Greek approach, and the time has come for an upgrade.

New Life 805 – From The Greek Culture To The Culture Of Love

New Life 805 – From The Greek Culture To The Culture Of Love
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

Nature’s press of evolution pushes us to develop. If we understand where it is pressing us to develop, we can save ourselves great pain.

Just as the vegetative level developed from the still level of nature, so can we advance to the next level today. So far we have developed according to Greek culture, but the new level of development requires the development of all new mind and feelings according to the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to receive fulfillment not by fulfilling ourselves but by fulfilling others. Our progress stems from the fact that a person wants to know the secret of life and to understand why he lives. The force that develops a person’s perception is the upper force, which we have to learn how to draw unto us so that it will change us.

The future culture will be the culture of “love thy friend as thyself.” It is the most advanced culture. In this new life, a person will receive total, eternal, unlimited fulfillment and satisfaction. The upper force is the force of love and bestowal. It changes us until we are in an unending feeling of love.

New Life 796 – Who Are The 12 Tribes?

New Life 796 – Who Are The 12 Tribes?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

The connection between people does not nullify every individual’s uniqueness. On the contrary, it even intensifies it.

By keeping the differences between the tribes and, at the same time, the connection between them, they build a state called Shechina. Just like the organs in a body, each one has its own place and together they build the general body.

The tribes stem from the sons of Jacob. It was forbidden to mix the tribes in order to preserve the form of the spiritual vessels, Ha-Va-Ya-H, times three lines. Every tribe has its own egoism and every tribe is like a special part in the jigsaw puzzle. If you change its form, the picture will not be complete.

We don’t know how to organize the parts of the puzzle and so we ask for help from Above in order to connect. In order to connect successfully we keep the uniqueness of every individual, and everyone tries to serve everyone else.

New Life 795 – The Wisdom Of The Tribe

New Life 795 – The Wisdom Of The Tribe
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

According to the program of nature, we should not leave the tribal framework. Egoism keeps us apart from each other and we need to learn to connect.

A person becomes wiser in a tribe because he learns the wisdom of nature, the wisdom of connection.

In the emotional or spiritual dimension, we discover that we are all one, that all of us are part of the system of Adam HaRishon (the First Man).

Abraham taught his students how to connect above the growing egoism that separates us, about how “love covereth all transgressions” (Proverbs 10:12), so they were successful in protecting tribal life through connection. In connection, we discover the inner power in nature, the good force, the force of connection, thanks to which everything exists. The revelation of this force develops wisdom in us. “Hochma” (wisdom) is composed of the same letters as “Koach Ma” (what strength). A person learns to identify in advance the negative forces that come and knows how to balance them with the help of positive forces.

Nature is a single connected system, a positive energy called life flows between all the living cells in nature; the upper force connects everything. If we transcend the ego, we penetrate into the nature of the upper world, the door to a new world.

Life today is compelling us to return to the wisdom of connection that Abraham discovered and to become a single connected tribe.

Physics explores the connection between inanimate particles, while the wisdom of Kabbalah explores beyond time, movement, and space.

New Life 793 – The Remedy For Human Society

New Life 793 – The Remedy For Human Society
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Human desire has grown, and as a result, everyone has his own opinion and more factions are created in society. This trend is indicative of human development, but with it, there is a lack of connection between everyone like there is between the various parts of the body.

In the past, the people of Israel consisted of 12 tribes, according to this it is possible to understand that we also require connection and separation.

Today we are like nuts in a sack, and without external enemies we would become completely separated from each other. We need to learn to build a connection above everyone’s ego; without this, we cannot sustain a family, society, and the world.

Human development is expressed by our ability to connect even with people whose opinions are different from ours. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches how to connect above differences. In order to sustain a good life, we must learn to connect so that no one will exploit others, but will complement them. We lack a positive force for doing this because we naturally only have a negative force, the ego.

We must not destroy the side that is against us; we need to learn to live with it in connection, like plus and minus. The system that connects between two opposing sides is called the middle line.

This method of connection is not only relevant to politics, but to every system of relationship, including couples.
