Question: How can we explain to simple people how the Light that Reforms works?

Answer: This can be explained with many examples that show that man is a result of his environment. For example, children who were lost in the woods and brought up near animals acquire the behavior of these animals, and animals that live near people become more human-like.

A person’s environment does everything. I can advance without the environment, similar to when nature was changing and thereby revealing in me different forms of existence as well. Once, I was like an amoeba. Then, I became a more complicated creature. So it continued, on and on, until I developed into a person that I am now, under the influence of the environment, nature. As nature changes, it changes us.

Now, we are discovering that everything changes: Explosions happen on the sun, the climate changes, and magnetic and geographic poles are shifting. We do not yet know what is happening here. We do not yet realize the thousands of factors that influence us and cause us to advance.

Everything happens through the environment, but this environment is called Nature. It seems to be inanimate, and some changes are taking place there—possibly, according to a certain program, but maybe not. We constantly want to find out about it because we think it is an accident, not a program. If we knew that everything is happening according to a plan of nature, we would have a completely different attitude toward it.

Today, we are facing a problem. We are encountering sudden, dramatic climate changes, and we want to know whether these changes are happening according to a plan or if they are accidental. Are we contributing to these changes in nature (and there are many studies regarding this), or are they so random that there is nothing we can calculate here?

Although, what kind of accident could it be? We study the processes that occur within the Earth, and we know that we live on the thin cover of a blazing volcano. This is why a really important question arises: whether or not we affect these processes? If we have no effect, then “eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die,” as people say. However, if we can affect them, then how do we do this? Is it with thoughts and desires or burning less oil and gas? Scientists are looking for answers to these questions because they suspect an upcoming, unpleasant course of events.

The globality of the world, which is being revealed to us now, has to ultimately make us smarter. We should realize that everything around us is a single system, and we are also inside it. There is a mutual influence: We affect the external system, and it affects us, We change through its affect on us.

This brings us to the solution that derives from the wisdom of Kabbalah. Can we intentionally change the environment so that it would affect and change us in the direction of the same goal, but in the good and fast way?

A problem then arises. We must change a lot of data placed in our mind. First of all, we must understand that we exist inside a universal, global, general nature where all the parts exist in unity, and that this entire process has a plan, a tendency, according to which we have always developed. Really, even when we look at the evolutionary process, we see that there is a certain plan of development in it. Suddenly, we forget about it because it refers to our ego, which suddenly makes us dumb. “There is nothing but me.”

If we first begin to perceive the image that there is a global, integrated, common system with humanity inside it and that we must come into balance with it, then we will be able to ask: “What does nature demand from us right now? Is it to come into balance? What kind of pressure and which conditions will it use to do it? Can we realize it on our own?”

We really begin to understand that nature cannot do it alone. We can call it the Creator (Elokim) Who has a mind and feelings, or we can consider that it does not have feelings. Either way, it is still nature; this does not make a difference.

We will only feel pressure on the still, vegetative, and animate levels, only on the level of our body. This is because we must build the environment for the human, “speaking,” level on our own so that it would change us with its pressure, giving us the proper form. This is why all the suffering, such as wars, misfortunes, and epidemics will be on the still, vegetative, and animate levels, on the level of our animal body, its life and existence.

This will continue until I realize that all of still, vegetative, and animate nature is a common, global system and that I must become like it on my level. To be global in the human sense means to treat this system as our own, where everything is interconnected and exists in unity and harmony.

Then, another stage begins. I build the environment for it to change me, to make me more global and integrated, connected to all parts of nature and all people. I want to do this since suffering forces me to do it. Suffering on the level of this world will lead to our understanding of the fact that our nature is completely interconnected, integrated, and we must be connected with all its components.

What will this provide? When I build this system, essentially, I am building an adapter between myself and the upper Light, the Creator (Elokim), the degree in nature that is above this globality and integration, above the structure of Malchut of Infinity. I as if make myself similar to the Light, even without knowing about it (we are referring to all of humanity that does not know exactly what it is doing). The Light influences me, does this work—lifts all of us to the next level.

The Light influences us and introduces into us the system of upper laws on the instinctual level, which replace the habits and laws we have artificially decreed upon ourselves. This is called “above reason.” I unify actions on my level, and I suddenly receive a new form of existence, a spiritual life on the instinctual level. I rise to the next degree. This is called “I labored and found.”

In this way, we raise our level, “modernize” ourselves. Even though we do all the actions on the corporeal level, meaning try to connect with others and treat them with love, nature influences us in order to lift us even higher. Thereby we raise ourselves with the help of the environment. Nature did it on its own on all the previous levels, but now we must obligate it to do it because this way, we acquire a new mind and feelings.

We must understand one simple fact, that success in the modern world depends upon our proper interconnection. This is revealed to us by the general crisis. The crisis sends us a message: “You want to achieve success in everything you do? But just take a look around: Everything you’ve done up to this day is in a state of crisis. It must be clear to you that from this day forward you cannot succeed in anything you do unless you correspond to a global and integral system.”

This correspondence is called mutual guarantee! You must come to know that being successful and producing something good depends upon your proper inclusion in the global network and that this inclusion is impossible without mutual guarantee. If you can do it, you’ll succeed. If not, you’ll waste time and only make it worse for yourself.

It isn’t difficult to achieve success. Each person can feel what mutual guarantee is, and each person can imagine a proper family that is warm and caring.

Nonetheless, mutual guarantee must be learned. Each person will ultimately have to change their opinion of Kabbalah and understand that it is a higher wisdom, and that he’s engaged in the correction of his soul. We must get rid of the fear associated with Kabbalah and understand that this wisdom is very natural. In it we learn about an active force within human society. We must get to know this force or we simply won’t be able to exist.

Who can argue this fact? After all, we won’t be able to sustain ourselves unless we reveal this force. People think that it’s some “out-of-this-world” science that talks about upper realms. But in reality, nothing is closer to us than Kabbalah.

Question: Does a person need to know that he needs mutual guarantee in order to not end up hungry?

Answer: Yes, of course. We have the same problem in the economy today. And if financial experts knew for sure that they would fail to control the bank system without the mutual guarantee, without establishing a connection between them, imagine how eager they would be to finally understand and feel what this precious mutual guarantee is.

A new director came and established a new order between all the world banks, all the exchange houses, and all the funds. And we come to work the day after he did all this and we cannot figure out what’s happening. We try to do something but it doesn’t work, and the next day it doesn’t work either. So what can we do?

And then this director’s messenger comes to explain that there is a completely different approach, a different order, and a new net of connections. Before you used to connect one way, but now you need to do it differently, not the same as before, but in a completely different manner.

And naturally, he explains that first we’ll begin to study about what’s happening, how we can do our work now, where we can find the new control levers, and what we’ll get in return. We need to know that there is a new system called “mutual guarantee,” and we’ll readjust ourselves to correspond to it the same way we used to correspond to the old system. And then we’ll have more success than before; we only need to learn this system.

Today we are discovering that the old system no longer works. Every day it keeps slowing down and dying more, and we don’t know what to do. So, won’t it make you happy to have the reason revealed and explained to you? People visit specialists and pay a lot of money to find out how to deal with problems, establish proper relationships, to create peace at work, at home with their children, and for oneself. And here the same “psychologist” comes to you and explains what is happening. He explains about new relationships that you didn’t know about.

And naturally, we will not be able to succeed without understanding these new relationships between people. If you want to eat every day, you must attain the mutual guarantee to this extent. If you want a more important position, money, or power, you must be in the state of mutual guarantee.

The government is completely losing its power and influence in the modern world. There’s nothing they can do because every government depends on two hundred other governments from around the world. Today, we see that people are stronger than the government. People protest and the government immediately retires. Powerful rulers with strong armies resign and surrender before the people. Everything has turned upside down. This is why this new connection, mutual guarantee, needs to be explained to people.

Question: If the nation of Israel were to unite in mutual guarantee, where is the guarantee that it would be able to achieve peace and safety?

Answer: This is the law of nature. Nature put a problem before us, and we, the people, will continue to fail in every way if we do not conform to it. We must attain compatibility and become similar in qualities with nature. When we do not suit it, we fail greatly.

This is especially true of the nation of Israel because it has this method of correction. When it does not do it, it stops everyone standing behind it.

Imagine that there is a line of seven billion people behind you, and you are the first one in line. You are resisting; you do not want to go. All the people are pushing you from behind, and you will not let them pass. This is the state that the nation of Israel is in.

In this way, we are acting against nature. Nature’s common program operates throughout all of evolution from the very moment the universe appeared, from the Big Bang (even the world of Infinity) until today, trying to bring everything into balance. Nature does not tolerate imbalance, and there immediately appears pressure intended to compensate for it. Even Aristotle said: “Nature abhors a vacuum.”

This is why we must carry out the law of nature. If we do, there will be no negative influence over us from anywhere. When we complete our special mission, peace will reign around the world.

Question: Lately, you have been saying that no economic program or transaction will be successful without taking humanity into consideration. How can we explain this to people? They are unable to take all of humanity into consideration. The most they can understand is to consider a few companies or a number of people.

Answer: If I want to make a deal with someone and I want it to be successful, I must think: “What deal can be successful if the world has become round and is in a global crisis because we are unable to consider all the connections between us? What deals can I make without considering all these connections?” True, you can’t make any. So, what should I do? I should consider them as best as I can.

A business can be successful on condition that I also care for a fellow human being as much as I am able to the extent of my correction, as much as the fact that the world is round becomes revealed in the world. If the fact that the world is one hundred percent round would be revealed to us, we would find our hands and feet tied, and we would not be able to do anything. I am not able to find a piece of bread until you bring it to me, and you will not be able to feed yourself until I give you a piece of cake.

This is why these connections are not being revealed to us. We only discover minor faults in the connection between us: “So, what is the big deal?…” In this case, I need to take into consideration that I must contribute to the world and care for preparing people for the new world and their global education.

Education is the primary priority. If people and the world as a whole do not know where they are, this would be the worst thing. Essentially, this is the only difference between the current and the future reality: the perception of common interconnection where we exist, to see the strings that connect us with our own eyes.

This is why it is necessary to educate people first, to open their eyes, to impress them, make them feel and see that we are really connected, and that there is nothing that can be done. People will be able to make deals, conduct business, make calculations, and earn interest to the extent that they feel that there is nothing else they can and that we are really connected.

So, what do we do now? We try to act this way regardless, even if we do it artificially, to the extent of our understanding, for example, to give several percent to the world’s global education.

Let us say that the common connection between us is now being revealed as 3%. Then, a person is not required to be connected to the world more closely than an extra 3%. He must think that the world is interconnected and contribute to the world’s advancement in this direction. In our example, he would give 3% of his profit to global education.

Then, success will really accompany him. This is because in this way, he becomes harmoniously connected to nature, makes himself similar to it and in balance with it to a certain degree, and changes in the direction of a new tendency. He is not required to know at all the entire connection between us and act according to it.

When he attains this entire network and begins to realize the connections according to it, everything will become very simple. He will only take what he and his employees need and give everything else for the benefit of society. Then it is said that he knows the entire network and is connected with it like a cell in a single organism.

However, this is not required of him now. Instead of only keeping what he needs, he keeps 97% and gives 3% to the education of the world. It may be 5% a year from now, and 50% in another five years. And thus we will advance gradually, to the extent that we sense and move toward the contemplation of the network that connects us and obligates us to act in accordance with it.

We have reached a point where we have completed building the global and integral egoistic system of connections. We have tied everything together as much as possible, all banks and trade; we have come full circle. Clearly these actions were driven by egoistic motivations and pressure from suffering: the desire for money, honor, and power.

Just as we have completed this global and integral egoistic system, it began experiencing breakdowns. These breakdowns evoke a sense of crisis within us. Now our actions must correspond to the method of Kabbalah and we must try to correct the relations between us as well as the way we relate to the world.

On the account of these trials we raise MAN (prayer), and the Light that Reforms becomes revealed. It creates transformations within each person’s individual egoism and changes the way he relates to others. The Light brings us into correspondence with the conditions that are being revealed to us in this global network so that we would become better suited for it.

Each time this network will reveal itself as more integral and global in the context of bestowal to one another, and each time we’ll have to work harder to influence the force from Above, which corrects us in accordance to the global network.

The force of bestowal will constantly reveal itself between us, and each one of us will have to make sure to bring himself or herself in accordance with it. First the Creator reveals the force of bestowal on His end, and then it’s up to us to change ourselves accordingly.

However, if the revelation of this network isn’t accompanied by our independent advancement, we sense it as a crisis. The situation will only worsen, up to the point where we won’t be able to trade and profit from one another, which is something that we depend on. It can get to a point where we won’t be able to sustain ourselves and then we’ll be forced to search for a solution.

All this needs to be explained from a Kabbalistic point of view because people won’t be able to solve this on their own. In this type of situation the only solution is war. In order to know something and to begin to operate correctly, we need to make at least a minimal amount of positive inner changes that will be in concord with the global network.

This is why Kabbalists, who view this situation from Above, must advise us on our actions. It was always this way, even with prophets and Kabbalists of all times and of all levels.

Question: It seems that circumstances push us towards unity, apparently in order to overcome the crisis, but in reality in order to correct our nature and rise to the level of “human.” What is the difference between unity in the group, the nation, and the world?

Answer: The entire wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to unite in the group. This was also the system during the exile (Galut), when small amounts of Kabbalists connected into groups. This is written about by the Ari, Ramchal, Rabash, and Baal HaSulam. The wisdom of Kabbalah is realized in a group, in unity. From within that unity, Kabbalists perceived the upper world, meaning that which is felt in the attribute of bestowal they mutually developed in the group.

Today, from within a state we reach in the group, we need to exit into a state where all our groups unite into one, and this general, common group is within humanity as its part. On the other hand, the time has come to unite inside Israel. This is what Baal HaSulam writes about.

But from where can it begin? It can begin from the Kabbalist group that works on its unity and based on it, explains to the nation about the need to unite. It’s because this need has already awakened not from within man, meaning from within the point in the heart, but through a push from nature, when everyone, Israel and especially the nations of the world, feel the pressure, the problem, the general integral and global crisis. Thus they push from behind via suffering to unity.

We see that nowadays a need for unity does not arise because an individual desire, the point in the heart, appears in us. Rather, the circumstances, a historical necessity oblige us to connect, to form one complete entity from ourselves, and thus to be an example to the world, becoming “the Light for the nations,” according to the Biblical command.

If so, we continue our movement from that same wisdom of Kabbalah, from Abraham, from his system, from the nation of Israel in ancient times, from his connection of mutual love. Gradually we comprehend that today we must attain that same state: return to our roots and continue this connection from us to the whole world that evolved from the ancient Babylon and didn’t want to receive Abraham’s system of connection back then.

Thus, the Kabbalist group that engages in the wisdom of Kabbalah is inside. It is composed of people who are driven by the inner demand of the soul. The nation that feels the crisis, the external pressure, gathers around it and involuntary takes the correction upon itself. And the world gathers around the nation, with the help of our groups all over the world, which belong both to the inner group and to the nations of the world.

The inner group is called “Kabbalah La’Am (Kabbalah for the Nation),” which engages in the wisdom of Kabbalah. The nation of Israel needs to take on the form of a group, not a Kabbalistic one, but as a unification into one family of Mutual Guarantee. This is our movement. The correction of the soul is for the group, and a connection of mutual guarantee is for the nation.

From within the need to advance the system of connection, we should turn to the government and any other institutions where we can promote our idea, approach the Ministry of Education, and engage in the education of the nation. We should do it through scientists who confirm the existence of the present crisis and based on objective social reasons and reality, see the necessity to unite. And thus, with the help of the scientists, we need to turn to those above and below: above, to the government, and below, to the nation. We must invite scientists to our discussions and awaken the interest of mass media.

Question: In America there is no protest movement like in Spain or Israel. So how can we transmit the message of mutual guarantee to people here?

Answer: First of all, don’t be sorry that your situation differs from Spain or Israel. In these countries the problems are much greater than the ones you are experiencing. Don’t be sorry about this. You should learn from small troubles. Our approach is not to be happy about people’s suffering.

One way or another, people feel that the world has changed and has placed such problems before them that their solution cannot be found by politicians, sociologists, political scientists, psychologists, economists, or pedagogues. This allows us to come forth with the explanations.

First of all, we explain why no one is able to find the solution: because there are new forces now operating in the world, which are in harmony and global interconnection, while the leaders do not understand that and are using outdated methods. We have to try to bring this message to people so it will seep into them drop by drop.

Obviously, it’s easier to give explanations to those who suffer. However, we have to treat everyone with love. We wish to save our own children from troubles so they won’t have to learn on bitter experience. We want them to go from good to better. And that is the same approach we should have towards everyone.

If we don’t attain success after all our efforts, the troubles will nevertheless arrive, and under their blows people will become more and more perceptive to our explanations. But it’s best to explain everything to them before that. It’s like you are throwing a seed into the ground and with time, it grows through.

The world is changing, and we must connect. We see that life is slipping out of our control. Before this started happening, it was forbidden to speak about it and reveal the wisdom of Kabbalah.

However, a new power is being revealed in the world between people, countries, different systems, and banks and trade. It confuses us and ruins our lives, threatening our essential needs, our food. The further we advance, the more we will see the system fail. It will simply stop working.

It is like an idea or a misfortune enters your very close family, the entire household begins to worry, and you are unable to agree with one another. This is what is happening now with the world. A new idea has appeared, and one part agrees with it, while the other does not. The first says that there is no choice and that we must accept it. The others say that this does not bother them and that they do not wish to participate.

Then a lack of understanding appears between us where we stop speaking, responding only when we must. Coldness and inner rejection appears. This can happen in any family, and this is now happening in the entire human society. Something simply is no longer working.

We would like it to work again. Would banks and trade not want to fix the situation? They are willing to pay double for it. All of a sudden, capitalists are willing to pay more taxes, but it still will not work. This calls for a new power, not the power that we built ourselves and that we ourselves can fix.

Sometimes, when something does not work, you can see where it needs a little fix. This is the way we always build, empirically, through trial and error. However, here, we feel that the situation has gone out of our control. This new network that is being revealed is simply “the finger of fate,” as Pharaoh’s advisers once referred to the plagues.

We always thought we rule, but the Creator, Who according to Gematria (the numerical value of a word) equals nature, shows Himself to be the ruler. We are beginning to understand that there is a new power here. We must become human beings and acquaint ourselves with it, unlike an ape that does not think about the Creator or any higher power, but simply lives its life.

A new power is manifesting, and this power has feelings, reason, and a program for us. This power was ruling us all along, but we were very naïve children, completely unaware that we constantly follow its directions. For the first time, we start realizing this.

We are rising to the next, higher degree by becoming acquainted with the upper force, the Creator. This is the true birth on a new degree. Until now, we were as apes because we completely followed nature’s directions by the decree of natural feeling and reason. However, today, we are receiving additional feelings and reason as well as the other ones. These new feelings and reason are different from the initial ones.

A global network, a new power in the world, is being revealed, and this is why we are experiencing this discord, dissonance, and we do not know how to combine one with the other. It is revealed to us as a new image that we face.

It is hard for a person to understand it. Usually, people acknowledge that nature has its own laws, but they consider it at the still level, lacking in feelings and reason. However, it should be obvious that nature has a program that precedes the creature because we can see how everything develops. It is naïve to believe that this entire world appeared on its own as a result of an accidental combination of particles, which also happened by accident. If so, we also could believe that a monkey, pounding a keyboard, typed up the Encyclopedia Britannica by accident.

We are still in an old state where we perceive ourselves as the masters of the world, and we hope to correct the current situation with some sort of action. We will discover that none of our actions work, and we won’t know what to do next. If there is nothing that can be done, then we can only wait and see what unfolds. Whatever happens, happens. We’re left with no choice; we’re completely helpless.

Here, somewhat indirectly, the science of Kabbalah reveals itself and explains to the confused and desperate world that a new authority of nature is becoming revealed. It is telling us to stop treating nature as something primitive, existing on the still, vegetative, and animate levels. Nature exists on a far more absolute degree, and it contains a program for all of its parts, especially the human part.

Finally, the time has come for us to truly separate from the apes. Until today, we were as apes, that is, we acted according to our inherent nature and were led only by our desires, deciding which banana to rip off the tree. However, from now on, we must evolve according to nature’s program that has developed us up to this day, only now we’ll have to do it consciously, as humans. This is what is being revealed today.

It’s clear why this explanation had to come from some external force. (Understand now how vital the science of Kabbalah is and why it had to happen in an artificial sort of way, through an external breakthrough.) After all, the Creator could have revealed all of this for us, but if He had, we would have had no choice. We would have continued our advancement as apes, as “holy animals.”

If the Creator would reveal Himself, we would accept His rule as nature’s condition. We would act obediently in accordance with it, just like animals. However, we wouldn’t become independent; we wouldn’t become humans, Adam, derived from the word, Domeh or similar to the Creator. We would be only at the still, vegetative, and animate levels of holiness because Nature (the Creator) obliges us.

Our method of correction had to come to us indirectly so that we could become independent like the Creator and have the freedom to choose. It’s so that we would not be faced with the Creator, but instead with the group and the books, with something that doesn’t directly obligate us and doesn’t affect our minds and sensations.

I’m not obliged in any way. I read a Kabbalistic book, and I become impressed up to a certain point, starting from zero, then on the first, second and third levels, but not on the fourth. In order to become impressed on the fourth (human) level, I must activate myself, inspire myself to take certain actions to draw the upper Light that Reforms. Then, I’ll begin to understand and feel changes on my fourth level, within my matter, the desire to receive.
