Question: We are now in something like an interim period, idle time, between conventions. How can we strengthen the mutual guarantee to move forward?

Answer: You need constant work. What is the difference whether we hold a convention now or not? A person does not know when he gains the required measure of effort. He has to yearn every new day in his life in anticipation of the moment when he will able to perform bestowal to friends, and through them, to the entire world, and through it, to the Creator.

I have to analyze my inner states, what my thoughts and intentions are, to what extent during the day I try to reveal the goal, whether my heart is imbued with this aspiration, whether it wakes up, whether I can commit myself to this, and whether I can hold this thought against the background of all other actions, whatever I do. From this, I can see how much I have moved forward.

We have only one possibility to reach the spiritual world: by constantly working on our desires and increasingly bringing them closer to the feeling and our understanding of bestowal. Changes should happen within us, in our desires. Therefore, every moment that is dedicated to this advances us along the path.

Then, everything depends on the person. In his opinion, what kind of movement forward should it be: individual or worldwide? If he wants to reach the goal of creation, this movement is possible only on a global scale. Everything below this benchmark does not work nowadays.

In the past, the group or the teacher was enough, but today, we are tied into the whole world. The one whose actions, day after day, move our world group and the entire world toward correction at least in some way can see that this stimulates him and his own progress. In essence, individual progress is an investment into others.

Besides, you should try every day to add some quality to what you give to others in your correspondence, blogs, and internet projects. We can bestow to friends only when we merge with them, when we understand them, rather than try to foist onto them something that we like. In addressing people, we should hand out, disseminate, that which is as close to them as possible. We should “clothe” in them.

Love is when I take the other person’s desire and fill it according to what he or she wants. Otherwise, we will not be able to approach anybody.

The group operates the same way as any other person by using the “miraculous force” of the Light (Segula). To do this, it needs to listen to the directions of the mentor and carry them out within itself. However, the main thing is unity and connection, the “circle” the group members create between themselves. There, they are all equal. No one is big or small, neither in relation to any particular quality nor in terms of one’s advantage over the other.

The small and the big, the beginner and the veteran, are equal. The group must be completely even and homogeneous. It must strive toward unity and mutual guarantee.

When they overcome all the problems and difficulties and desire to build themselves in such a form so as to really feel the quality of bestowal that is being restored between them, this connection is called Shechina (Divinity), the common desire that arises from foreign, separated parts that wish to connect. They attract the Light that Reforms to the extent of their desire and need to connect.

Then, the Light of AB-SAG comes to them and clarifies and corrects their desires. Thus, they advance until they see that they are basically beginning to build a spiritual vessel within the group. Malchut of the world of Atzilut is between them in this common desire that they are building through mutual bestowal to one another. This vessel becomes filled with the quality of bestowal and its fulfillment, referred to as the upper Light or the Creator, that dwells between them.

This work is personal for every individual as well as common for the entire group. It also applies to the entire humanity that is now entering this state against its will. Humanity simply lacks the initial spark that awakens in the heart and attracts one to itself: A person is simply pushed forward by suffering.

We need to become this enticing spark for them. Moreover, public opinion will figure out very quickly the main principles of this path and will make progress. Our objective is to provide humanity with the method of correction before they are ready to take a step forward. So far, the problem has been that they are advancing faster than we are providing them with this method.

We think that we are advancing while everyone else remains somewhere far behind, but this is not true. They actually are advancing very fast, and they are ready to accept the method of correction from us. We are late to address them. This is a big problem, and we really need to hurry.

Today a completely new paradigm, a new worldview, and a new approach is arising before us that has never existed before. In the past we changed the world, but now the world is invariant and we have to change ourselves.

These inner changes in a person can come only by his choice, by his desire, by a conscious decision that he makes with every step. And Kabbalah is essentially the method, the action plan on this path.

By definition, the science of Kabbalah is the revelation of the Creator to creation. By changing, a person reaches similarity with nature. And being similar to nature means being similar to the Creator. A person (Adam) is one who is similar (Domeh) to the upper one. This is what we must constantly discover in the process that is sweeping the world forward.

By having a Kabbalistic method and being its representatives in our world, we have to help all of humanity by disclosing this method in all sorts of ways. Obviously, it has to be done with the understanding that people resist changes, don’t want them, and look down on them. That’s true, but nevertheless, this is how everything should be. And on our part, we have to improve the presentation in order to bring the method to the people in a comfortable and pleasant form.

Otherwise, the world will of course suffer more and more from one day to the next, becoming immersed in confusion, helplessness, and bewilderment. People can become so confused that matters will escalate to a war. After all, when you are confused and disoriented under a hail of blows, your nerves can give way.

And then you will be willing to do anything just to stop the chaos. Even war will seem like salvation because it seems to put everything in their place. Just like a person can go into a rage, so can humanity, and in our days, we understand that this means a world war.

It’s up to us: How quickly will we assimilate the science of Kabbalah and place it on the runway in a clear, correct presentation for the whole world? All of us together have to become an enlightening, educational organization that helps and explains to people how to change in order to establish the right interconnection and thereby reach equivalence with nature or with the Creator, which is the same thing.

If we don’t attain balance and harmony with nature, then besides social failures, we will feel its devastating blows, which will finish us off. After all, even in human society today, we are incapable of anything until we change ourselves. Egoism is evoking an enormous amount of social problems, but we cannot stop.

The consumer society is depleting the earth, 200 years of the industrial era have exhausted all of its resources and soon they will dry up completely. Drinking water, oil, and other resources are all nearing their end. Eventually we won’t even be able to lead a normal life, not to mention the excesses. And still, we are incapable of holding ourselves back, of limiting production and pollution.

And we won’t be able to do that until we change man’s nature. No artificial solutions will help us. We still put our hopes on the old methods, but nature no longer accepts “payment by credit” from us. It will accept only one thing from us: harmony with it, homeostasis with this global system.

The need to change man is forcing us, Kabbalists, to come out of the previous boundaries and start making actions on the scale of the whole world. And we don’t have any other choice. As Baal HaSulam writes in the article “The Science of Kabbalah and its Essence”: As a whole, Kabbalah is the revelation of the Creator. Where? In a person. According to what? His equivalence of form. A person acquires similarity to the Creator, the all-enveloping, global nature, becoming a single whole with it.

We have to gradually bring our explanations to every person, in his language and on his level of understanding. The explanation has to come gradually, until people start being able to feel that precisely the connection between us gives us the sensation of a different life, as if we are on a different planet, in a different dimension.

It is impossible to talk about this right away. We always have to address separate individuals and groups of people on different levels of development, according to the desire that they are experiencing right now. Therefore, at first the explanation must be presented in a language that they understand: “You will feel good. There won’t be wars, terrorism, or drugs. Your children will be more successful, there will be fewer divorces,” and so on.

Different layers of the population have to be addressed in a form that’s suitable for them: some are more inclined to watching movies, others listening to music, others yet, reading books, and others can be approached through science, the economy, and anything else.

The environment has to be similar to a sphere that radiates many opportunities upon every person to understand what is “the global world” in which we exist. Just as the world is global, so the system of upbringing has to be global, meaning it must include all forms of influence, on every level, in all forms, and in every language—from the side of everything that surrounds a person.

This is the system of upbringing that we have to build. Without it humanity won’t advance. It will be affected by all kinds of problems and disasters, and it will be forced to build itself in this manner in any case. After all, by that it realizes its independence because by building an environment for itself in order to change and become corrected, it realizes its freedom of choice. And therefore, it builds itself on the Human level.

The revelation of the Kabbalistic method to the world presupposes that four conditions are met:

Condition #1: That the method of correction is not handed to one person, but to a whole nation.

Today, more and more people are realizing that it’s necessary to change oneself and to enter balance with nature. In the past we thought that we are above nature and our egoism is intended to control it, but now we understand how destructive this is for us.

This sensation is surfacing in the masses by virtue of the fact that we satisfy the first condition of Kabbalah’s revelation, where 600,000 people, “600,000 souls” are studying the method of spiritual correction. This is a conditional concept symbolizing a gathering of people who are able to reach a special connection between them, called “mutual guarantee.”

Condition #2: The nation has to come out of the Egyptian slavery, meaning to realize the evil of its own egoism.

Condition #3: Every one of the 600,000 has to agree to work for the sake of bestowal.

Condition #4: Every one has to be willing to carry out any action that will bring him to a connection with others.

Mutual guarantee is care about filling each other’s desires. All human plans have to aspire to this. We have to carry out a revolution inside of us. The world has everything to ensure a favorable existence for the inhabitants of the planet, but there is one thing missing – a common thought that’s aimed at this. If we aspire to this internally, then the abundance will become accessible to all.

Everything depends on our interconnection. The tighter the interconnection is between us, the more intense is the action of the upper Light, which will order the state of the lower levels of the universe. As soon as a group of 600,000 people agrees to the condition of mutual guarantee, interconnection, and love, it will immediately receive enormous support from above.

The only thing required of us is to desire to restore the interconnection and the intention to work for bestowal. Precisely the intention, and not technological progress, will cause a revolution in the world. We will gradually reach a state where the newest technologies will be created and controlled by thought, meaning with intention and a desire that is corrected by the intention.

Every person’s obligation is to care for all of humanity. The whole world is included in the system of mutual guarantee, but first of all, this has to be done by those who have the understanding and desire to rise to the higher level and to reveal the Creator among them. The group desire will smoothly flow over into the world’s desire.

A person will gradually change his attitude to himself, to society, and to nature, and will receive satisfaction from being in the system of the common interconnection. He will be “nourished” by the upper Light, which fills him and delights him.

That is how we will shift to the economics of intelligent consumption because we will be satisfied only by the vital necessities. By beginning to work by the principle “everything is for everyone,” we will reach the state of mutual guarantee. And the inner changes in man will entail the reconstruction of the whole world.

Question: We are trying to teach the world about unity, but an egoistic one for now. How can we later raise people to the level of love for the Creator?

Answer: They will make this transition under our guidance. After all, we are leading them into the framework of the new upbringing, rather than just gushing in front of the public.

People will have to enter the network of upbringing, which envelops every age group, from 0 until 120, and which is in effect from now until the end of correction, throughout all times. Everyone will have to undergo an unceasing process of upbringing. Say, a third of the day will be spent on work, and two thirds on upbringing, which is also work in and of itself.

Then, through a gentle, customary presentation, we will explain to people the principles of Baal HaSulam, adapted to the whole world. After all, the science of Kabbalah talks about the will to enjoy and the will to bestow pleasure, about their relationships and interactions, about how to correct our nature. There is nothing “virtual,” imaginary, “spiritual,” or mystical about it. It is talking about forces that act inside of you.

By revealing them more and more, you will see that no one is forcing you to “float up in the clouds.” “Spirituality” is the intention for bestowal. If I attained bestowal to another person, that means I am spiritual. But if I care for myself, then I am material. Our relationships, which are based on bestowal, are the spiritual world, whereas our current relationships are the material world.

But we are not even talking about any kind of “worlds.” After all, it’s difficult for a person to give up his old notions, and therefore he will become confused. Therefore, we are giving him simple explanations, presenting the entire science of Kabbalah without any special terminology, with scientific words.

We have to build up this system of upbringing so we could gradually give people the knowledge about human nature. Nothing more than that is necessary. We are talking about man’s nature, which is the only thing that was created.

Thanks to this, a person will constantly develop until he discovers what lies on the outside – the system of his interconnection with others. And in it, he will reveal the Creator.

In practice, we can give explanations in terms of perception of reality: A person isn’t even revealing a connection with others, but himself. The desires that appear external and alien to him become revealed as his own. It turns out that this is him. By bringing the external parts closer to himself, it’s as if he sews them on, implants them, and joins together the separated organs of his body. And according to this, he feels and reveals the perfect reality.

Now I see only what is present in a small part of the broken body. But the more parts I reunite with it, the more I reveal in it.

Question: Are we addressing scientists and other thinking people so that our message could descend through them to others?

Answer: Yes. We could direct scientists to address the governments on the top and the people on the bottom. It’s as if we are approaching from aside and mixing in with this middle layer of intelligent, thinking people and scientists. We bring them to a common task, to a common opinion, and elicit them to address the higher and lower layers.

We don’t have any other opportunity. We cannot do this on our own because we are armed with a method that appears unrealistic to both. And if we will wait until they discern that it is realistic, we will be letting the world slide down to the path of suffering.

Question: Are we striving to build this address on a reasonable basis?

Answer: Of course. Only on a reasonable basis. Every person has to be addressed according to his desire. And that includes the Creator as well: If I want to establish a connection with Him, then I have to act in agreement with His desire. He wants to bestow to me – and that’s wonderful. I give him this opportunity. I open myself up for His gifts, and this is reception for the sake of bestowal.

I am always working with someone else’s desire because otherwise I do not make contact with others, but on the contrary, I close myself off inside. At first I have to feel the desire of the neighbor, be it a desire of the masses, of scientists, of my friend, of the group, or of the Creator. After that I work according to this desire. For what? For unification. In what way? However this desire dictates to me.

Incidentally, this is why advertising agencies first hold surveys in order to discern what people think, what they want, and what they are drawn to. Everyone who works with the public and desires to achieve success is always holding his hand on the pulse of his audience. How else can they go about it? If you want to speak to a certain part of the people, then you have to know their desires. These are basic truths.

Question: Why don’t we realize the mutual guarantee between us and then influence the whole world? What do we want from others?

Answer: It is correct; we have to experience this first. For example, it is written in the article “Love for the Creator and Love for the Created Beings“: To the extent in which the sons of Israel unite by keeping the Torah, to that extent they pass their power to the rest of the nations.

Therefore, we have devoted many years, our entire life to organize groups and supporters around the world. We must continue what we have started. On one hand, this brings us to the mutual guarantee, but on the other, dissemination should not be only internal but also external. One does not cancel the other.

And of course, our main focus is the inner work.

Question: I must strengthen my desire to disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah. The greater my desire, the more I will be able to give to the world. How do we grow a big enough desire that it just spills outside?

Answer: In order to do this, you need to develop an ability to empathize with people and feel their pain. Let us say that you have “fallen” for a certain idea of Baal HaSulam, decided to reveal the Creator, and unite with Him. Now, you want to impose it on everyone else. Will this be bestowal toward the world?

Bestowing to other people means to fulfill their desires instead of your own. You do not force them to accept whatever is important to you. On the contrary, their desires become most important to you. This is bestowal. Otherwise, you want to forcefully impose something on them.

For example, they want to watch soccer, but you close down all the stadiums. “I’ll show them soccer. I’ll asphalt all the fields. I’ll pass a law forbidding soccer as a game.” You think that this way, their time will free up for inner correction. You wish. They do not want any correction; they want soccer.

Do you think this is love? Do you really think that something can be given to people by force? You simply break their lives. Is this really right?

To love someone means to take their desire and fulfill it. This is why we need an educational system, so we can act gradually, gently, and without pressure.

We must explain to people that all their misfortunes are caused by a lack of balance with nature and hatred of others. This is exactly what makes us opposite to nature, and this is why we suffer on different levels.

Explain things whenever an opportunity arises and gradually establish communication with those who get your message to one degree or the other. We need to go to people with things that promise well-being.

For example, it is vacation season now. Give out brochures at the airport to people going on vacations with colorful illustrations and humor which at the same time express the idea you wish to convey. Make this brochure pleasurable for a person to open during the flight or when lounging. Its form corresponds to his mood, while its content is appealing, promising a good time once he gets back home.

Can we issue this kind of a brochure? So far, we have not done this.

Question: How can we address the world with the message of mutual guarantee? What can we use to interest and excite a person?

Answer: We cannot call a person to mutual guarantee because we have to show him rewards, demonstrate what he may get out of it. Commercials promise plenty of pleasure. “Buy! You just cannot imagine what happiness is passing you by.” Can we use the same style to advertise mutual guarantee? If we cannot, it is better to keep quiet about it.

Thus, we have to prepare the correct explanation after which a person would not be able to stay at home, but will rush to the specified address. If we have something to say, it is worthwhile to start a conversation, but we are not able to do this. That is why we are studying.

Today, we have nothing to attract the world to mutual guarantee. The world initially does not feel the need for it. Mutual guarantee is not food, sex, family, money, power, or knowledge. How can we clothe it in recognizable garments and promise something familiar, understandable? People have to be addressed according to their desires. We have to prepare ourselves seriously, but wait for their initiative.

A few more crises, a few more problems, and accordingly, against this background of emerging needs, we will be able to talk to people. Conversely, it is impossible to reach a person before our proposal meets his or her desires.

Advertising appeals to those desires that are inherent in us originally. It skillfully accommodates them, takes the form corresponding to this pleasure. In what can I clothe the pleasure of mutual guarantee and unity?

The “dress” should be such that people could see the benefits. “I will have more food, more sex, more family happiness, more support and honor. I will obtain strength, education, money, and so on.” If there are no such things, it remains only an abstract idea like “Guys, let’s be friends.” We have to search for the ways to approach people, to communicate with them so as to show them: It is worth it.

What is the benefit of mutual guarantee and unity? Today, we can say that it will let them establish balance with nature, cope with ecological problems such as the jellyfish invasion, solar activity, or with unemployment.

However, our message must be presented in a clear, concise, and simple form, without philosophical parallels between mutual guarantee and the price on cottage cheese. In people’s eyes, they have to be clearly linked to each other: “If you join mutual guarantee, you will have ten packages of cottage cheese per day. If you do not, you will not be able to buy any at all.” Our explanations have to be clear and obvious to this degree.
