Two Currents: Animal and Spiritual

Comment: The current situation in America is very similar to what it was 500 years ago in Spain or before the Second World War in Germany. Today, more than 50% of marriages are mixed [a Jewish and non-Jewish person]. Assimilation is very great. In addition, more than half of the Jews living in America have never been to Israel.

My Response: The fact is that there is an animal (material) life, which is lived by all the peoples of the world, including modern Jews.

But there is a special force of nature that runs above them, directing everyone, both Jews and non-Jews, to one common denominator, to one common goal: connection among themselves. Moreover, the Jews should lead this movement, followed by the nations of the world, together achieving the force of unity, love, and mutual understanding.

Both currents run one above the other: below is the animal and above it is the spiritual. If we don’t understand or engage them, it doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. On the contrary, we suffer from not knowing about the forces of nature that control us.

Therefore, if we begin to understand, and in our time this is already available through the science of Kabbalah, the internal method of development of both Jews and other peoples, then we will understand the plan of creation, the plan of human development, why it was created in this way, and what happens to the Jews overall.

As Einstein said, “We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”  We need to ascend to a higher level.

My Response: Indeed, until recent times we were disciples of other nations and did not succeed in other sciences. Our only occupation was spiritual exaltation. And only during the last 100 – 150 years, when we had moved away from the inner part of the Torah, were we lost in the other sciences, in business, and so on.

Thus, in our time, everything has turned upside down. We learn from the peoples of the world all kinds of philosophies and religions, and from us they learn sciences.

This is why we need to restore the correct correspondence between us and other peoples, becoming, as it is said, the light for the peoples of the world. We must reveal to them what the science of Kabbalah actually brings, how it is possible to reach an understanding of the world in which we exist, and how to come to its correction.

Remark: The ideas of Kabbalah are very similar to socialist ideas. Basically, this process was necessary and very correct.

My Comment: But this is outwardly. Internally a completely different force pushes and pulls the Jews forward—the idea of revealing the upper force of nature over all differences in the general development of each other, in the general connection between all the peoples of the world.

Remark: The Soviet Union also promoted ideas of uniting the whole world, giving everyone rights, etc.

My Comment: But all this was for the sake of simply feeding people. The idea of the Bolsheviks and Communists was to make a material paradise on Earth.

Kabbalah says that we cannot achieve a material paradise; it is enough to provide ourselves with everything necessary for existence. And the most important thing is to reveal the unified power of nature in your unity. After all, all of nature, the entire universe, is one force called the “Creator.” We must reach its level, and only then will we find true existence.

You Cannot Hide Your Nature

Comment: A famous German philosopher of the 19th century, Ludwig Feuerbach, wrote: “The Jews have maintained their peculiarity to this day. Their principle, their God, is the most practical principle in the world,—namely, egoism: and moreover egoism in the form of religion. Egoism is the God who will not let his servants come to shame. Egoism is essentially monotheistic, for it has only one, only self, as its end.” (The Essence of Christianity)

My Reply: This is an example of how one can understand the essence of the Jewish religion in quite the opposite way.

Question: That is, he saw monotheism specifically within the framework of egoism and self-love. Isn’t egoism a God among other nations? Everything is trivial. Egoism manifests itself everywhere: among both religious and secular.

Answer: The fact is that even now many Jews are assimilated in places in America and Europe. It is not the first generation that is dissolving among the nations of the world, and we do not even know whether they have Jews in their family. But people can guess it from certain signs in their behavior, from the way they communicate.

Although this person seems to be completely removed from Jewishness and there is no Jewish upbringing in his pedigree for several generations, still, if you look closely, you can see that he is a Jew. You can even tell whether he belongs to the Levites or Cohens.

You cannot escape this. It comes through in some habits and behaviors, although one may not even be aware of it. But people feel it.

The Times of Israel published my new article “Israel – The First at Being Last”

Israel is now the world leader in new coronavirus disease cases. That is, every other country in the world has fewer coronavirus infections per capita than Israel. Data from Johns Hopkins University has revealed that Israel averaged 199.3 new cases a day per 1 million residents in the week ending September 2. Since then, Israel has only widened the gap.

When COVID-19 first emerged, countries lined up to praise Israel for its handling of the pandemic. But in the second wave, reality aligned itself with our behavior and we have dropped from the zenith to the nadir. Even if we shut down the economy once more, place all cities under quarantine, and every household under stay-at-home orders, we will not find more than a momentary relapse in contagion until we do what we must—change our attitude to one another. Then, and only then we will overcome the virus.

When the virus first appeared I said that it was not an ordinary virus. I cautioned that it is here not in order to shut down the economy but in order to teach us how to relate to one another. So far, we have failed miserably, and so the virus celebrates with record breaking infection rates, total helplessness of the authorities, and depravity suggestive of the last days of Rome.

On the surface, there seems to be a battle between those who want to keep the economy running and sustain people’s livelihoods, and those who want to restrict economic and public activities and sustain people’s lives. In my view, as long as we treat each other with such derision and disdain, we will sustain neither.

The whole problem with the measures we are taking in order to avoid contagion is not the measures themselves, but that we are taking them in order to protect ourselves instead of others. When the motivation is so self-centered, those who are young and healthy, and not in the risk groups, or who believe that the disease is nothing but fake news, have no reason to comply with instructions. By doing so, they not only increase the risk to the lives of those at risk, they also increase hatred and alienation in society, and this is the real problem.

We need to treat the masks, vaccinations, and all the other measures not as medical tools, but as social tools that help us portray our relation to others. If we change our relation to others, we will be able to open the economy without any limitations and the virus will be gone in no time. But first, we need to show our efforts to change our attitude to one another, and the way to show it goes through wearing masks, keeping social distancing, and doing everything required in order to preserve the lives and health of our fellow persons. Not our own lives, but those of others around us.

The State of Israel is always at the center of attention. Just as countries lined up to praise us when we succeeded in curbing the virus in the beginning, they now stand bewildered at our colossal failure to do the same in the second wave. If we show the world that the way to oust the virus is through unity, the world will follow suit, and, as a result, a new, united society will emerge around the world.

We must remember that the State of Israel, as are the people of Israel, is not just another country. It was established to enable the people of Israel to carry out its duty to the world—to set an example of unity above divisions and show the nations how they can do it, too. Here in Israel we are meant to become “a light unto nations” by uniting “as one man with one heart.”

Despite recent agreements, the Arab world as a whole will not make peace with us, and the world will not support our being here, as long as we do not make peace with one another. Instead, the nations will blame us for inciting wars and taking a land that is not ours, as UNESCO has been saying for several years now.

Covid-19 has given us an opportunity to change our relation to one another, thereby change the world’s relation to us, and thereby change the nations’ relation to one another. We shouldn’t underestimate our power to do good, or bad, to the entire world. If we rise to the challenge and unite, we will oust the coronavirus, the world, too, will learn that the solution to the pandemic lies in positive relations and will do the same, the pandemic will disappear, and the entire global society will change for the better.

Question: To introduce the method of connection, one needs to implement several practical tips. First, use the media. This is the instructive and educational stage.

We see how mass media today influences and shapes public opinion. Therefore, it is possible to change public perception by constantly advertising that everything depends on the unity of people. Then this value will be more important than any personal qualities of an individual.

Second, open—and this already exists today—research centers for studying the unification of humankind.

Third, the upbringing of children in schools. Indeed, only knowledge is given in them today but not upbringing.

It is also necessary to develop specific training programs for the unemployed, inmates, people living alone, and other segments of the population.

How long do you think it would take to implement all this? And how long will it take to learn new communication skills between people?

Answer: If people see this as an urgent, collective necessity for humanity, which is practically facing the threat of destruction, then this will be realized very quickly and accepted in the shortest period of time. It can be hours, days, or weeks. It all depends on how clear it becomes to people that a terrible fate is hanging over them.

Question: Will suffering be the catalyst for this process?

Answer: Undoubtedly! Only that! Man is an egoist. If he feels good, he will not lift a finger. And it takes energy to lift a finger.

Remark: But he wants to get better.

My Reply: Depending on where it is better: “Do I understand what is better? Am I sure of this? No, I will look at others for now.”

Unfortunately, this will not work in a positive way. We see that a person is used to lying on the sofa. And only if he is approached by someone with a stick does he jump up.

Question: Is it still possible to positively come to changes in human psychology regarding relations with other people?

Answer: I hope so. At least such an example should be given to humanity. I work in this direction as much as possible. True, I am not engaged in the dissemination of Kabbalah among the broad masses, but I teach Kabbalah as a method of correcting certain special individuals who have an internal predisposition for this. I hope that in this way it will be possible to educate true teachers of the generation. And that generation is already taking shape.

Question: I know that Kabbalists are not engaged in predicting the future. Still, could you specify a time frame for when will the people of Israel be able to become a conduit? How long can it take?

Answer: I think that this will happen within the next few years. This will require some pressure from above, but in principle, people can grasp this very quickly. All the conditions for it exist today.

Therefore, visit our website and try to master our materials. This science will definitely come in handy for you anywhere any time, and you will not get away from it. Correcting the world is the goal of all humanity. And first of all, our goal.

Remark: After the exile from Spain and flourishing in Germany, Jewish communities in the 16th century moved to Poland, Little Russia, and the Baltic states. Until the middle of the nineteenth century, Jews lived in closed communities, united by one language, one trade, and one religion.

My Comment: The fact is that the development of the Jews does not happen in the same way as other nations. Throughout history, they constantly needed to care about how to come to unity and show this method to all the nations of the world. This is the essence of the Jews, their purpose, the reason for their existence.

After all, this is not a nation, but a collective group of all the nations of the world, which was assembled in Ancient Babylon by Abraham who brought them out of there and made a single nation out of them.

However, since they do not have a common biological root, they very often fall apart and move away from each other. If the idea that unites them from the inside is not manifested in them or they are not pressed by enemies from the outside, they do not feel close to each other.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, this nation has its own development plan.

Remark: You have been talking about the need to unite for decades, and there have been no changes. There are not even any hints that someone hears and supports it.

My Comment: The fact is that a person hears only when he sees benefits in. After all, we are egoists.

A person must see that if he does not urgently engage in the introduction of the method of correction into this world for all peoples, then he is finished, enormous suffering will befall him. If everyone who belongs to Israel does not understand this, it will be bad.

Question: Did the Jews not suffer enough? And it helped them with what?

Answer: The point is not that they were killed, burned, or tortured, but in the realization of evil. This is a big difference.

An accumulative process is taking place. Sometimes it is enough to just prick a person, and he will say: “That’s it, I understand.” Because this prick shakes him up, and it is followed by the realization of evil. Otherwise, he does not see or understand why people hate him, what they want from him.

Talk to Jews today and they will say: “People hate us because we are lucky, we know how to get settled, we are smart, we can get rich, we can do anything.”

Unfortunately, no one knows the roots of anti-Semitism. Jews have no idea why they are hated. They believe that it is out of envy, “What can we do if people are jealous of us?” However, envy is not the only reason. Take everything away from the Jews and they won’t stop being hated. We see it.

Question: There are several stages of learning the method of connection.

The first stage is explanatory when a person must receive information about the current situation, about the crisis that has engulfed all spheres of our life.

The second stage is acquiring knowledge. A person begins to understand his egoistic nature, what the freedom of choice is, what the correct perception of reality is, the general goal of nature that he must achieve, etc.

The third stage is educational, sensory, when people studying the method of connection should be divided into small groups, in tens, in which they will be able to feel everything that has been explained to them in practice.

The fourth stage is going out into the world and working not only in a small group, but also with all of humanity.

What could you add here?

Answer: I can only say that I have not added anything new here. My explanation that humanity should be divided in tens and correct itself though them in general unity, and then in a larger form, comes from Moses, who, upon receiving the Torah, immediately began to unite the nation.

The fact is that by trying to unite above egoism, we begin to feel the common force of nature, which is called the Creator. The revelation of this force in us leads to a spiritual ascent. We begin to feel the entire universe, all of nature, the spiritual worlds, the system that governs us.

Thus, we rise from the animate level governed from above, to the level of man (Adam). Adam comes from the word Domeh, similar, to the Creator. We come to a level equal to Him. We must ascend to this state of complete similarity to the Creator.

Question: In the 18th century, two teachings emerged among the Jewish people. One of them was Hasidism—a direct appeal to the human soul, to the Creator, to the study of the Creator and oneself.

This course was opposed by another school, which promoted only the dry teaching of the Torah. There was a serious conflict between them. As it was written by the eyewitnesses: “Heretics were persecuted, subjected to Herem (excommunication), forced to publicly repent their sins, and even subjected to corporal punishment.”

What was the reason for this conflict?

Answer: The reason was very profound because it stems from the destruction of the Temple. It was destroyed precisely because people refused to work on the connection between them due to unfounded hatred. They started to distance from each other and stopped working on love and connection. And this is how it has been ever since.

Some of them understood that the most important thing is a sensory, heartfelt, mutual connection between everybody. Yet, if for them the most important thing was to create such a unity between them as was in the soul of Adam, to be as one man with one heart, it was not so for others.

This is how people usually are: physicists and lyricists, some more inclined to mental research, and others to sensory research. This was clearly evident among the Jews, and therefore, they were in great opposition to each other.

Remark: The main point is that Kabbalists were spiritual leaders for both sides.

My Reply: Yes, but it did not matter. The point was not about the Kabbalists who understood each other and knew what was going on and why the other group thought so. The point was how to lead the masses: just teach them the Talmud, or educate them in a sensory attitude toward each other.

Remark: You said that one of the reasons for this split was that it was not yet time to spread this wisdom. Although many Kabbalists of the 16th century were already writing that it is possible to reveal Kabbalah, to this day not everyone agrees with this.

Answer: Indeed, to this day, Kabbalists feel the echoes of past battles. However, not to such an extent anymore.

I hope that modern history and the development of humanity will quickly neutralize all this and bring us to a common denominator.
