Every person, even a total beginner, can participate in the Convention and join it. We have to understand that there is general work and individual work, and the difference between them is vast.

Individual work in spirituality is very difficult. However, if the same work is carried out jointly in a society, it becomes very easy. Imagine that you had to move a rock weighing a ton; you wouldn’t be able to move it an inch no matter how hard you tried. But if you bring twenty people and each of them takes 50 pounds upon himself then you would be able to move it. And if you bring twenty more people, it would be even easier for every person.

However, in spirituality everything is moved by the power of the Light! We attract the Light through our connection with each other so it would move the rock.

This is a completely different approach! It requires the right connection among us, and then a “cliff” will move on its own by us simply glancing at it.

The Creator is present inside of us, and if we want to unite, the Light is already present inside us! If 6,000 people get together wishing to unite, they contain the Light and this Light works.

Question: When we are at the Convention, how can we progress by faith above reason, how can we “do and hear“?

Answer: The Convention is a great gathering of people. There are thousands of participants who will attend physically, and hundreds of thousands more surrounding us all over the world. All these people create an environment for you which values the quality of bestowal and love, and understands that this is the future of the world and without it the world has no future.

The world is becoming revealed to us today as integral and interconnected into a single system. Yet, if every element of the system tries to “pull the blanket over itself,” the system disintegrates.

Therefore, being in conditions of a global crisis, we have to understand that the world’s correction lies in a harmonious connection between people. When we attain such a powerful unity among people who realize this, every person gains the opportunity to absorb the common feeling and receive enough forces to acquire the quality of bestowal. We should only make the effort, try to bow down our heads before the environment, and become inspired by it.

The environment’s influence can be so powerful that a person will feel the common quality of bestowal that lies in our interconnection. Then we will reveal this quality, which is normally invisible to our egoism. When we all try to merge into one whole, we generate such a great force that we can accomplish this revelation.

We are studying the works of Kabbalists, meaning people who have already attained the quality of bestowal and who describe it to us. We are studying precisely the sections that relate to this quality’s influence on us. The study and the general aspiration will enable us to connect to this force.

Thus, the Convention holds an enormous effect and benefit for a person’s spiritual development.

Question: Is there a distinction between men and women with respect to preparing for the World Kabbalah Convention 2010?

Answer: There isn’t any difference in preparation. We must prepare our hearts. We should know the congress schedule, topics of all the lectures, seminars, discussions, and cultural programs in advance, and we should learn all the songs. Let us anticipate a spiritual gift!

If we prepare ourselves at the corporeal level and know everything in advance, then it is all for the best. We will open our hearts to the internal surprise, to the revelation of the connection between us, men and women alike. And then, the Creator will be revealed between us. Amen!

We have set the purpose and mood of the Convention to be “standing at the foot of Mount Sinai.” We are coming together in order to unite. It is not just to show respect for The Book of Zohar or anything else, but rather, to implement our unity at the level where we will reveal the Upper One.

At this Convention we are taking on an obligation and this scares us. Let this fear remain. Let us come there not in order to have fun with others or to tearfully hug each other at a three day long picnic. Rather, we are getting together in order to carry out very important work, which gives us great responsibility. We have a desperate need for it and we are “wound up” to do it. Most importantly, we are taking on the obligation ahead of time to provide mutual guarantee to one another.

It is similar to how a laser is prepared for operation by being revved up. Active processes take place in its working environment and the illumination is continually increased and multiplied until it bursts forth with a very powerful, focused beam.

That is how we are “winding ourselves up” today for an “attack.” We are not giving up for anything. No matter what happens, we are preparing to ambush. We have all the necessary forces for doing this and all the necessary preparatory base.

If we forestall this, then things will only get worse and much more difficult. All the troubles and suffering are caused only by falling behind, by our not accelerating time and simply allowing things to happen as they will.

On the other hand, if we attain success, then new forces will suddenly join us and we will find new means to achieve unity among us. Therefore, all of the time we have left until the Convention should be devoted to preparation. We have to leave behind all the fears besides the one fear that makes us feel responsible, similar to the unceasing worry a mother feels for her baby.

Question: The convention will host people from more than 50 countries whom I will be seeing for the first time. How can I pray for somebody who’s a stranger to me?

Answer: I don’t differentiate between friends and strangers: I see only their spiritual points. Every one of them has an egoistic desire and also a point in the heart which wishes to break through and reach the Upper world.

In outward appearance a person may be white, black, red,or yellow, but what difference does it make to me? All I care about is the point in his heart for that is what is called a soul! Whereas the body with its five senses pertains to the animate level. You can transplant its organs, remove its parts, and replace them with artificial ones, and none of this would affect the soul. The soul is what is important because we unify on the level of souls.

The point in the heart is independent of a person’s appearance. We’ll be receiving guests from all over the world: black from Africa, red from South America, white from Europe, and yellow from China. But we know that their skin color does not affect their points in the heart. Our differences extend to our corporeal qualities and mentalities, but not to spirituality.

So why should unifying with everybody be difficult? We will come together and unite, reveal the Creator between us, and the prayer of the many will elevate us to spirituality!

Question: 7,500 people will gather at the Convention and I want to reveal the connection between us. How should I work during the three days of the Convention?

Answer: This is very simple. We are talking about a place that has great power in the spiritual sense. When you come there you will feel the great force of its influence on you and you will unwillingly enter this flow. Nothing will be left of yourself because you will naturally be drawn inside by the influence of such a great and powerful environment.

Every person who comes to the Convention with a positive outlook will dissolve in the general aspiration. This is human nature. Nevertheless, how much does a person work inside? Does he use the mind and the feeling not just to hold on to the general flow, which is swift and even disorienting? Does he draw conclusions and make assessments? Does he add his own inspiration? Does he “paddle” on his own or give himself over to the flow entirely?

This is very important and in this regard everything depends on the preparation.

Question: We expect 7,500 people to attend the Convention and it will take a very large team of people to take care of them. However, not everyone is ready to participate in this work. How can we help others to understand how important this is?

Answer: You can learn from our friends from abroad. They are paying thousands of dollars to buy tickets to fly to the Convention in order to spend three days working in the kitchen. We do not understand how great they are.

Besides, the Convention begins with preparation. We have to provide food for all the participants, set up the necessary equipment and the pavilions, and take care of many more things. We have spent several months planning all of this.

We have been doing this work for many years and I don’t think we would accomplish it if we didn’t know how great is the spiritual benefit it brings us. It holds incredible benefit. Even when you assess it egoistically, it’s worth it for you to put in as many efforts as possible into this.

In general, anything that’s useful consists of efforts you expend, but here we are talking about spiritual benefit in a pure form. Friends from different countries are coming and participating in this work because they understand that this is precisely where unity is revealed. That is where the maximum benefit lies.

Let us hope that more and more people will start to participate in this. It’s not because we can’t manage without their physical help, but rather, if they come and desire to participate, we will be able to share the spiritual benefit with them.

Question: At the Kabbalah Convention 2009 we were able to reach a special sensation that you referred to as a “drop of unity.” What did we attain then and how can we complete it at the big, upcoming convention?

Answer: At the Convention last year we felt that there was a special point in the unity between us, which did not depend on us and was above everyone. And if we were to connect between us, we would be able to depend on it, strive toward it, unite around it, and be protected by it. This “drop of unity” is a high force created by the connection between us, which protects us from all ills.

But this is not enough. In this drop, we connect our spiritual sparks into one spark. If we were to connect our desires to bestow, the mutual guarantee, to this common spark, we would begin to reveal the connection between the sparks that are glued together; that is, we would start to discover the system of connection of our souls. Every connection between the sparks is a relationship of mutual hatred and love above it.

In the first case, we connect our sparks (the points in the heart) into one big spark, and then we attain what a high state this is, meaning a state that exists by itself, a certain reality outside of us. We have created something new that was produced through the connection between us.

However, if you were to add a little bit of desire to it, then not just all these points in the heart connect into this spark, but also all the egos between them become revealed, meaning the entire hatred, and love above it. In other words, a net of connections between us becomes revealed, and we can perceive spirituality, the Creator, in this connection.

This means that you sign the mutual guarantee on the basis of the revelation of your desires, meaning that besides the point in the heart, there is the revelation of evil in them and the consent to be above it. After all, this net is built with our desires which we renounce by connecting above them and replacing hatred with love.

How will I be able to connect with others otherwise? It is not enough to simply connect into one spark; this is not a real connection because we have left the entire ego below. Meanwhile, I must rise above it, above Mount Sinai (the mount of hatred).

Question: What intention will help me reach “the prayer of the many” at the upcoming convention?

Answer: Our convention is dedicated to the revelation of the connections of love between us, as it is said: “Israel are friends to one another.” Isra-El means “straight to the Creator.” Any person in the world is referred to as “Israel” when he intends to reveal the Creator.

It is clear that “the Israel prayer” is always “the prayer of the many,” and the intention is to attain the mutual guarantee, as it is written: “We shall do, and we shall hear.” In other words, we will establish a connection between us and reveal the Creator within it; we will reach adhesion and similarity of properties with the force of bestowal.

Just like all our work, the upcoming convention is designed to explain to the people the work that they need to do. The exile is over. We have returned to the Land of Israel, and we need to rise to the level of Israel, straight to the Creator.

This is why nature constantly pressures us so that we would discover the connection between us and then explain the purpose of creation to the nations of the world. This is what it means “to be the light for the nations,” meaning to help all of mankind reveal the universal connection and rise to the spiritual level.

The wisdom of Kabbalah tells us that the time of existence of our world is 6,000 years beginning with the first correction until the end of it. Today the year is 5,771, and we must complete all the corrections in the time period that remains until the year 6,000.

Question: What is the goal we want to achieve at the upcoming Convention?

Answer: We all expect an opportunity to unite at the Convention in order to achieve mutual guarantee. Mutual guarantee is the force of mutual connection which determines the degree of one’s soul. We have to attain the first degree of connection among us in order for the Creator to be revealed inside it.

Even if we won’t be able to stay on this degree all the time, we’ll at least be able to temporarily. It is already possible for us to come in contact with this state so the Light will glow for us and then disappear. Nevertheless, a person already receives a spiritual impression. He knows it exists and understands what he is going toward.

When this happens to a big mass of people, it is very effective. I hope to achieve this together with you and obviously, everything depends on our preparation, our faith in success, and the confidence that we deserve it!
