Following The Law Of Equivalence Of Form

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: When people come to the Convention and see the great work and preparations that were done, will we be able to revoke the differences between us and feel total equality?

Answer: Everything that is now being prepared for the Convention all over the world together with us is being done from the bottom of people’s hearts; we are all in one single vessel or desire. People who are far away from us and do not have the opportunity to come are still able to support us in thought. They transmit their desire to us and the aspiration to be closer.

What we end up with is the right combination, arranged by the Creator, where everyone unites together. We lack just one thing: the common thought about mutual guarantee!

Forget about all the external differences. In the end everything must become part of one whole, one common mutual guarantee. We have to become “as one man with one heart” together with all of our friends all over the world. As soon as we achieve the first feeling of contact, the spiritual quality of connection, then inside it the Creator will immediately be revealed according to the law of equivalence of form.

Everyone Will Hear The Creator’s Voice

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe first degree of mutual guarantee is the initial degree of the spiritual ladder. This entire ladder is the implementation of the levels of mutual guarantee: from 0% to 100%, the 125th degree. At the Convention we are trying to reach the initial condition of mutual guarantee on the simplest level, and to hold on to it at least temporarily.

This is possible if we all desire it passionately and are able to transmit this aspiration to one another. Only a small fraction of the people will be able to attain this state consciously, while the rest will join them. We are connected together in a spiritual scheme, a Partzuf in the form of a pyramid that has a peak (men from 20 to 60 years old whose might is 60 x 10,000) and lower layers (called the elderly, women, and children). However, eventually we all unite together in one group (nation) that “stands at the foot of Mount Sinai.”

When the innermost part, the “men between 20 and 60 years old” take the mutual guarantee upon themselves, then all the others, the newcomers, join them. Everyone becomes included in one whole and is deemed “one nation,” which receives the spiritual revelation. It is written that the entire nation heard the Creator’s voice from Mount Sinai. However, the innermost group is the first to take on the actual condition of mutual guarantee.

Should One Help A Friend To Go To The Convention?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: I have already been to a Kabbalah convention. Would it be correct if instead of going there myself, I give my friend an opportunity to go by supporting him financially?

Answer: If a person is at the level of love of others “Love another as you love yourself,” then he must (and he desires!) to give the other his only “pillow,” that is, to send his friend to the congress. If neither of you go to the congress, then it is the quality of Sodom (Sodomite Rule). However, if you are the only one going, you are the “wicked.” But this is at the level of “love for another.”

The degree of love is the highest and last level of correction. Until it is reached, there are numerous other steps, and for the time being, we are at the level of the “wicked.”

Therefore, to act correctly means to act according to your level or “according to the law of Halakha” (the law), where “Halakha” derives from the word “Alicha,” movement (toward the goal). In other words, this means correct advancement, correct action. In your case, you should go, the one who has the funds; otherwise, you will instill hatred between you and your friend.

Find Surprises Only In Spirituality

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In a few weeks, more than 7,000 people from all over the world will gather together at the World Kabbalah Convention 2010. How, during this gathering, do we implement the law of “love thy neighbor” in practice?

Answer: I think that the magnitude of unity that we are about to discover with the help of the Creator will be truly enormous and powerful. We have prepared ourselves and “warmed up” the entire World Kli and all our friends who are going to come to this congress in person or participate in it virtually.

During this last month before the convention, we must thoroughly familiarize ourselves with what will be taking place at the congress as if we are already there. In advance, we must learn all the songs, the program of the convention outlined day by day, the topic of each lecture, the theme of every seminar, meeting, gathering of friends, and cultural program, and get ourselves acquainted with the place where the congress will occur.

We must learn as much as possible in order to free space in ourselves for new impressions. A person should learn in advance as much as he can about everything that is taking place during the congress.

I don’t want any surprises in the corporeal. Rather, let there be spiritual surprises in the connection between us. A person has to be open for them, not looking for what, where, and when everything is taking place. There should be total clarity so that a person won’t need to worry about anything, but rather, be more open to the impact of the environment. Only then does he absorb everyone’s enthusiasm, and that is what inspires him.

Judging from my personal feelings, we are going through great stages of preparation.

An Intention Without An Intention

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: If our primary goal is to achieve an inner connection, then why do we still have to start from a physical contact which the upcoming convention may help us establish?

Answer: What else can be done if you still don’t have the correct intention? You should perform actions without the intention! You will be like a child who is running back and forth. His actions are similar to our deeds that lack intention. However, gradually, a child becomes smarter and adds an intention, meaning sense to his actions.

The same can be said in regards to our actions and the convention itself: Whatever is in your power, do it! Not doing anything is the worst thing of all. You are unable to add the intention to your actions? But if before every action you admit that you can’t add the intention to it, it will become your intention! It will become a prayer.

Kabbalah Conventions Bring Us Closer To The Creator

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How do we use the upcoming World Kabbalah Convention in order to bring us closer to adhesion with the Creator?

Answer: It is exactly what we aspire to achieve. We are building an environment in order for it to affect us all, to instill new values into us, and to make us feel ashamed that we are not yet in bestowal and don’t feel the same way that we will during the congress.

I realize that during these three days I will feel a burning flame within me, excitement and inspiration. Then why can’t I always feel that way? Before and after the congress, I will probably undergo difficult states, ascents and descents. During the congress, too, there will be moments when I will and will not desire unity, when I will be “for” and “against” it at the same time.

This teaches us how much we need the group and the pressure we feel from the friends so that thanks to their impact, we could attain adhesion with the Creator sooner. This is what we should experience at the convention.

Come To The Epicenter Of Unity

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Why is it so important to physically participate in the upcoming Kabbalah convention?

Answer: The Creator conditions a person, and if one finds himself in a situation where he is absolutely unable to come to the convention, then this situation was prepared for him by the Creator. In this case, a person should try to join the congress in the form that he can.

A person may not be able to come to the convention physically, or maybe he doesn’t have the necessary funds, but there must be a serious excuse. In other words, it depends on the opportunities that one is given and whether or not he is using them correctly.

Each person has to make an honest calculation within himself as to how much depends on him. But if spirituality is really the most important thing in his life, there cannot be any double standards here. Everyone should ask himself whether or not he would go if by going to the convention he would win a huge amount of money, improve his health, do something very dear to him, or save his life. Make your calculations along these lines.

There is no doubt that such magnitude of unity can only be achieved at a congress and no other place. We arrange congresses overseas as well, but this congress is the most powerful one. Therefore, I cannot imagine that a person living in Israel would not have an opportunity to come. If this is the case, let him write us about what prevents him from coming, and we will work on it.

If a person lives abroad, however, it could be a problem. It is possible that he lives in a country where it’s dangerous to travel to Israel, or maybe he has no financial means to do so. In this case, he should figure out how to join the others like himself locally and watch our broadcasts together with them. But it is necessary to unite with someone.

In the worst case scenario, if there isn’t anybody nearby, then a person should watch the broadcast alone. But I hope that there will be very few people in this situation as the essence of our entire action, our entire correction lies in unity.

If the only commandment is to unite, then why wouldn’t a person want to come to the place with the greatest power of connection that he can possibly reach? Let’s not look for excuses. The Creator considers only one thing: How did you utilize the conditions handed to you from Above?

Therefore, let’s hope that many of our friends will gather at the convention, in the setting most beneficial for our unity, and at all locations so that we will attain a spiritual revelation.

World Kabbalah Convention: Unification Of Sparks

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: The groups of northern Tel-Aviv and Holon arranged a wonderful meeting in preparation to the upcoming World Kabbalah Convention. I experienced an incredible feeling of unity with the people there even though I have never met some of them before. However, when I spoke with one of them at a later time, I realized that I couldn’t feel the same unity. Does it mean that it is easier to unite with the group?

Answer: Of course. When you are alone you become absorbed in your own qualities instead of rising above them. We have to unite above our personalities and our nature in order to achieve a mutual connection where we bestow instead of receive.

Each person rises with his spark and then all the sparks unite together. There, among them, we find the Light, the Creator. When all of us rise above our egoism and unite in the common goal, you feel the unity. But afterwards, while speaking with an individual in a setting where your spark does not connect with his spark, you naturally return to your corporeal attitude.

Question: Does this mean that the power of the Kabbalah Convention is that it makes it easier for the participants to unite?

Answer: Yes. The power of the Convention lies in the fact that we can unify all of our sparks or all of our spiritual impulses which are aimed at the inner force of nature, the unity between us, the desire to ascend above the material, animate, egoistic desire. This force of the environment influences us all.

Our State Today And Tomorrow

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How would you describe our current state before the November congress?

Answer: I think that we are in a state of preparation for a jump; we need to join forces, demand of ourselves, and prepare and connect under pressure. If we prepare well, we will experience an inner revelation at the congress.

Even if the new students do not feel an actual revelation, at least they will experience a sensation. They will understand the essence of Kabbalah, the need to unite; illusions will fade, confusions will disappear, and everything will become one whole, one common picture; the only operating Force will become manifested, and all the “decorations” will only remain as connections between us.

This is because the world is an illusion, concealment, and I see different images in the place where I am not connected with the Creator.

Kabbalah Moments: “Preparation For The Congress”

Preparing For A Descent

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How do we prepare ourselves for a descent during an ascent?

Answer: By no means should you anticipate a fall during an ascent! I should regard every ascent as the final correction of my soul. How can I possibly bestow if I am waiting for an imminent descent?

I have to be positive about the future. This is called “preparation for a downfall.” I do the maximum and expect complete correction as the outcome, believing that from now on nothing bad can happen to me in life. I completely cling to the One who is good and does good: the Creator. Each spiritual state requires absolute commitment and devotion of the soul; you should think only about bestowal and nothing else except that.

I am now going to rise, and no matter what follows afterwards as a descent, it comes as an ascent for me. This is what a person thinks about while he is in the state of ascent: “I am not afraid of anything at all, let the angel of death appear! I will tear him apart! It doesn’t matter which state I’m in, I will use it as a springboard to ascend further!”

This means that after the November Congress we all transition to a continuous ascent! There are no more falls! Every spiritual descent that we experience should be transformed into an ascent through our intentions.

Even when I sense a fall, it allows me to realize that I haven’t yet reached the top of the ladder, but through my intention I am already in the World of Infinity. Let the emptiness manifest itself within my receiving desires, I am ready to rise above it. On one hand, I descend revealing my evil, and on the other, I immediately rise above it through the intention to bestow.

We want to experience such continuous progress after the Congress, so that whatever potholes and bumps are on our path, we will all perceive them as an ascent.
