Perception of Kabbalistic Texts

526Question: You say that in Kabbalah all your feelings are in Hebrew. When you read Kabbalistic texts in this language or listen to them, how do you perceive them?

Answer: When I read a Kabbalistic text in Hebrew, I perceive it within myself. Just like when you read a text about some situation in our world in Russian, it creates a certain inner picture within you.

It is the same for me when I read a Kabbalistic text. It creates an inner picture in me because I already possess a certain set of qualities that correspond to these words, terms, sentences, and connections.

Therefore, while reading, I assemble this picture inside myself like a mosaic, and it begins to live within me. As I continue through the text, it all shimmers, rotates, connects, and separates within me. The text lives in me and carries out its actions. I feel it as my life experienced in that very moment.

It is similar to when you read fiction and become immersed in the story.

Laws of Higher Communication

933Six days may you work, and perform all your labor, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall perform no labor, neither you, your son, your daughter, your manservant, your maidservant, your ox, your donkey, any of your livestock, nor the stranger who is within your cities, in order that your manservant and your maidservant may rest like you (Torah, Devarim, Chapter 5, 13-14).

Question: Does the Sabbath day apply to non-Jews?

Answer: No, it refers only to Jews, i.e., to those who are approaching correction.

All spiritual laws began with Abraham and his group began to penetrate into the property of upper nature and to tune themselves to exit from the egoistic crisis that engulfed Ancient Babylon.

Therefore, Kabbalah and Judaism—not earthly, but real, spiritual—are built on the fact that we rise above egoism, where our animalistic part is immersed.

To do this, it is necessary to build ourselves above our ego in order to exist at the level of “Love will cover all crimes (egoism).”

As soon as Abraham and his group began to unite and rise above the ego, they began to feel in their unity the properties of the spiritual nature: bestowal, love, interdependence, adhesion, connection, etc. And completely different laws operate in them. The description of these properties is the topic of all Kabbalistic books.

Abraham’s group sought to use this very system of interconnection among themselves, these laws, according to which they began to live.

The relationships that existed on a spiritual level between a man, a woman, children, between friends, the behavior of a person in relation to animals, in relation to plant life on earth, and the earth itself, they began to relate to everything around them. Therefore, all the laws of behavior come from the laws of the higher commutation of people among themselves.

When we begin to live by these laws, we gradually enter into them. There are personal laws according to which an individual fluctuates every second in his various changing properties. And there are laws in which we flow together in our society.

At the same time, we notice that one state is replaced by another, a third, a fourth, a fifth, a sixth and a seventh. And then the first state repeats again, the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, the seventh. And then again. But they are completely unrelated to natural cycles and do not relate to the sun, moon, or earth.

These are purely spiritual states that take place only between people. Therefore, at first the people of Israel performed them only between themselves, and then gradually they began to transfer them to phenomena and objects of material life.

In the spiritual world, there are forces that govern the sun, moon, and earth, and form certain relationships between them: the moon revolves around the earth for a month, the earth revolves around the sun for a year, and so on. Gradually, all this began to enter into one unified system for people.

They began to execute the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh day on the earthly level. Hence, there were six days of the spiritual week, which correspond to the properties of Hesed, Gevura, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, and Yesod. And the seventh day, Saturday, Shabbat, the Sabbath, is a day of rest when they do nothing, because this quality is similar to final correction.

Since they were on the spiritual level, they began to automatically fulfill these laws on the material level. For them, both worlds were one common whole. And when, at the time of the destruction of the Second Temple, the people fell from the spiritual level, only the earthly remained. We are still fulfilling them today, although it has nothing to do with anything spiritual.

The Desert, Part 4

740.01Question: A person who feels dissatisfied with their life runs into the desert in search of themselves. After all, the desert is silence, a sense of eternity, something primordial, completely different from the endless cycle of daily life we constantly spin in.

Why is it that people seek inner fulfillment specifically in the desert?

Answer: I would not advise not to get too fixated on the external image of the desert. When the Torah mentions the desert, it refers to an inner state of a person. The inner desert is a search within a dried-out life that bears no fruit.

Egoism has completely drained the person and gives no answer to the question about the meaning and purpose of life. That is why they feel as though they are in an internal desert. This is precisely where one needs to find a well of living water, meaning, the upper light that is revealed specifically in dryness, in the desert.

Question: How does one dig a well in the desert?

Answer: A well emerges through questions. A well is always initially covered with a stone, and then the stone is rolled away, revealing the well. There are always disputes surrounding a well.

Question: What kind of questions are these that bore through the earth?

Answer: A person wants to reach the source of life. One constantly examines oneself and investigates reality. Where can they find the source of their own life? They search precisely in the middle of the dryness of the desert; they do not flee from this question, but dig deeper into their life.

Those people need to find their source and understand why they live, for what purpose, and what is the outcome of this short, painful life. Through this kind of digging, a person ultimately reaches the source.

According to the Formula of Complete Interconnectedness

944We need to make people feel that unity has become second nature to us. After all, we are coming together and striving to create a common system of connections that should shape us into an entirely new humanity.

From this unity, new, clearer, and more stable connections between people should emerge, and within them, social relations should begin to form on an entirely new level.

Even new enterprises, educational systems, and media systems should arise from this network. The system of our interconnection, based on unity and absolute equality, should begin to generate systems of a new humanity founded precisely on the formula of complete interconnectedness and complete equality. Then we will become like the upper force, because no one will dominate another. In this, we will fully resemble the Creator.

The truth is that humanity has never had the opportunity to become equal. For centuries, many have strived for freedom, equality, and fraternity, understanding that this is the ideal.

But we could not solve this problem because we were not developed enough, and inside us, egoism was always boiling. A few idealists thought about it, while the rest tried to extract selfish gain from it.

Now this problem has become global. Every person, every family, feels it. Thus, we now have the opportunity to rethink and redefine everything, because today we can attract the upper force and with its help correct ourselves.

In other words, our congresses will become centers, and in between them, we will build an ever-widening community of people who will be able to grasp the new idea—a completely new paradigm, a completely new foundation, upon which all human institutions must be rebuilt. This includes industry, economy, banking, human relationships, family ties, relationships between children and parents, and education.

Everything we have done on this Earth must be rebuilt in accordance with a global system of governance. Then we will truly become fortunate and happy.

I believe that our congresses will begin to carry this idea into humanity, and people will realize that it is essentially a source of new understanding and knowledge through which we can build a better life for ourselves.

The Greatest Force in the World

229Comment: You say that we have entered a period where the process of correction is already taking place. But to us, it is not noticeable. We do not see anything except that everything is happening more intensively.

My Response: The process of exposing our egoistic nature is indeed happening, and it is becoming clear to everyone. Psychologists, sociologists, and politicians who think about these matters are starting to more or less realize that egoism, which is our very nature, is essentially what is destroying us.

People just think there is no cure for it, and so they throw up their hands and continue living as before: “What can be done? That is just how we are. We will keep devouring each other.”

That is why we need to develop the wisdom of Kabbalah to show people that it is not so. The process has begun, but it must be taken under conscious control and directed toward the goal by ourselves so that nature does not drive us toward happiness “with a stick.” Of course we do not yet see the egoism corrected, but we already see the recognition of egoism as evil. And that is the preliminary stage.

Already several million people around the world are able to hear that the egoism is meant to be corrected so that precisely through it, we ascend to the level of the Creator. If we make an effort to disseminate this knowledge, then by uniting among us, we will break through humanity’s disbelief, emptiness, and laziness, and give people the opportunity to understand that perfection and eternity are attainable, and that we are standing at the threshold of a very serious, elevated process.

We are not beings without a rudder or sails, without a clan or a tribe. We exist within the highest process of nature, within the Creator, who leads us from one end of creation to the other. We are now at a very critical, culminating point from which we can begin to move consciously, revealing worlds before us and feeling ourselves as part of the universe.

I believe that our current state is special. That is what the Kabbalists write. We must try to make these days of humanity more intense, more revealing of the great goal that stands before humanity. It was created by nature, and we will reach it anyway, but now we have the opportunity to consciously and swiftly realize it ourselves.

Question: Do you speak about the correction process not only with regard to the group but to all of humanity?

Answer: To all of humanity. The group is separate. Regarding our international group, which includes hundreds of thousands of people around the world who hear and are already absorbing this, we can say only one thing: this group is already a real spiritual force in the world, not by human standards but by spiritual qualities. If we measure not by numbers but by spiritual qualities, we are the greatest force in the world.

We must respect our community and understand what an opportunity we have to accelerate humanity’s development, to make it pleasant, easy, and inspiring, instead of allowing it to continue in division, anxiety, and fear of world war or ecological disaster.

The Desert, Part 3

741.02Question: Is the inner desert a condition inherent to every person, or not everyone?

Answer: There are people in whom the egoistic desire has developed so much that they begin to feel dissatisfied with their lives.

It is like being in a desert. A person wants to know why this is happening. Is there a purpose, a higher program? Why does he feel such dryness, such emptiness in his life, from which no fruits grow?

He tells himself he needs to investigate the desert in him. This means he escapes into the desert, like our forefathers, looks for purpose, and does not find it. He plunges even deeper into inner scrutiny, tries to figure out why he feels such emptiness in life, and is unable to do anything.

This is the state of the desert, where one searches for sources of water, for wells, like Abraham or Isaac once did. There are many stories in the Torah about wells, which are so necessary especially in the desert. After all, if a person feels the dryness of life and has nothing with which to revive his soul, he must find a source of living water, that is, an upper force capable of answering him—what the purpose of his life is, its essence and meaning.

He is looking for the force that created these two states—drought and water, that is, egoism and the desire to love, evil and good. When he finds out that they come from the same source, he wonders how this can be. After all, people believed there were two forces: good and evil. Even Abraham himself once made idols in ancient Babylon, half of which were evil and half were good.

It is by going into the desert and digging wells for water that he finds the middle line. The middle line is the same upper force that brings both drought and water. This is the answer to man’s search: the feeling of drought and desert is given in order to seek and find the upper force that is the source of both phenomena.

Question: How do you find the upper force in the desert?

Answer: It is precisely because a person feels the drought and the absolute emptiness of life that he reveals the upper force.

Question: Why specifically in the desert?

Answer: A person must answer the question of why there is such dryness in his soul. And then he finds a well with living water, which is located precisely in the desert.

Horoscopes and Fortune-Telling in Kabbalah

632.4Comment: In order not to frighten the masses, you cannot reveal everything Kabbalah speaks about. After all, many things are revealed: horoscopes and so on.

My Response: Kabbalah explains the general method of correction, and that is it. What else can it say? It cannot explain why things happen one way to one person and another to someone else.

Question: But did horoscopes originate from Kabbalistic sources?

Answer: No, it was before Kabbalah. Horoscopes go back to very ancient methods of unraveling the path of man in this world; that is, to the most ancient methods of exploring nature and oneself; it has nothing to do with Kabbalah, which was revealed in Ancient Babylon only three and a half thousand years ago.

Comment: But at the same time, it still describes everything that exists in perception of this universe.

My Response: It does not matter. Kabbalah does not ask this question at all; it does not care how the fate of man in our world will turn out in his animate state; it has nothing to do with our body. To us the soul is important, the point in the heart and how to develop it is important.

What is Kabbalah by definition? It is the revelation of the Creator to man in this world. How does the Creator reveal Himself? In desire. Which one? In the one you develop from the point in your heart.

And everything else? Everything else is important only to the extent it applies to this desire, to this point in the heart. As soon as you start going into some kind of horoscopes, into human physiology, into the animal body, this is no longer Kabbalah. Then you should go to the gypsies and fortune tellers, and they will tell you things. By the way, real experts in this field can predict everything correctly.

Question: But in any case, if a person has to live his physical life, does he reveal his soul in the same process?

Answer: Yes, but Kabbalah does not speak about the physical world! This science speaks only about the development of the soul and about what you can feel in it.

I spoke about it with my teacher. He confirmed that the fortune tellers and soothsayers can tell the truth, as they possess this technique. But we do not have this technique, we do not need it. What difference does it make to me what happens to me? I have only one calculation: how to end my life with the highest score possible.

Is that what a fortune teller is for? To do this, I have to think only about the point in my heart! Let the body die, just let me bring it as close as possible to my spiritual correction.

Question: What should I do to not renounce the body altogether, but use it to the fullest?

Answer: Kabbalah does not allow us to renounce the body. You have to live a normal life: work, study, give birth, raise children, and treat this life exactly the same as everyone else around you.

Question: So how can you maximize using your body to achieve the goal?

Answer: Involve yourself only with achieving the goal, and everything else—as needed.
