Mutual guarantee is an interconnection between us where I have to consider all the other people just like members of my family. It’s difficult to imagine that this is possible, but we have to attain this inner state in our development where every person in the world will sense the whole world as being inside of him.

How do I sense my family? I feel every member of the family inside of me. They are like one whole with me. I feel what I have to give to whom, whom I have to take care of, and whom I have to support. I have my elderly parents, children, grandchildren, the household, expenses, responsibilities, debts, someone is sick, someone needs help, and so on.

According to this, when we hold our common family council, we take the needs of every person into consideration, make a list of priorities and rate how important these necessities are. We decide what we have to do first, what next, what comes after that, and so on.

If we act with the same attitude toward the world, just like in one family, then each of us will become a harmonious part of this world. This is the state that nature will bring us to, either by blows or by our understanding.

In the News: Crowds came out in Qianxi, Guizhou, one of China’s poorest provinces. Reports say hundreds of people rioted, setting fire to cars belonging to the local government, blocking off streets and injuring several police officers. Police arrested 10 people.

Chinese towns regularly experience short-lived outbreaks of unrest. The anger is often directed at local officials. Analysts say such incidents are on the rise in China, and provide one of the most pressing challenges to the rule of the Communist Party.

My Comment: It’s frightening to think about the unrest that is gradually swelling in China. I hope that before it breaks out, humanity will understand that the only possible path of development is the path of gradual unification toward mutual guarantee (Arvut Hadadit). This can prevent a lot of suffering in the world during this transitional period from the egoistic framework to the altruistic one.

The “Mutual Guarantee” movement is a social, non-political movement whose goal is to raise the importance of the idea of “mutual guarantee” in Israel and the world. The movement was founded by the international “Kabbalah L’Am” organization with the aim of informing the worldwide community of the reality of the global crisis which has enveloped all areas of humanity’s life and activity, and to offer a scientific method for solving it.

The movement is joined by representatives of every layer of society, regardless of gender, age, religion, nationality, and social or economic class.

The situation that has arisen in recent weeks has exposed a vital need to give anyone who cares about the fate of our country an explanation the notion of “mutual guarantee.” We think that this is the only position from which people should analyze the current state of Israeli society and discuss the ways of its further development.

In our opinion, social changes cannot take place unless a critical mass of people, and as a result, society as a whole gain a new value system. It is impossible to achieve true social changes through political and economic reforms alone, inspired by the “powers that be.”

Various social organizations operate in our country and in the world, and we welcome everyone, extending our hand in partnership to every person who is concerned with the current state of affairs. Let’s sit together as equals by a round table and hold a sincere discussion of the problems that are literally causing our society to explode today.

We have to realize the enormous responsibility that lies upon all of us today without exception, and be extremely careful not to inflict harm to the very foundation of our state.

Only our active and responsible participation, good will, and mutual respect will bring about positive changes in our country.

In order to reach balance with nature’s integrality, we have to start treating each other differently in all areas of our activity. Even if the change is slight, even if it’s 1%, yet if it happens all over the world, it will bring about radical, enormous changes for the better.

In general, we underestimate small things. For example, over the last 50 years the world’s temperature increased by 0.1%, and look at what kind of changes this caused: the glaciers in Alaska and other places are melting, the ocean level has risen by several centimeters, and the climate is changing. And all this was caused by a mere change of 0.1% because it is happening in the whole world.

In the same way, the tiny change in every individual will be multiplied by seven billion souls which are absolutely interconnected with each other, a circumstance that was not present before. There is already universal closeness among us in some regard, and therefore this tiny movement will cause tremendous changes, transforming the world in an extraordinary way.

The current processes are happening on a very large scale. Therefore, this small change will bring about many consequences in our lives. Under conditions of mutual influence, every person influences everyone because we are all connected within a single net with our thoughts, desires, plans, and so on. Scientists are already talking about this as well. As a result, our thoughts and desires are coming closer and becoming inter-included in one another.

This is creating a completely different territory and platform for humanity’s existence. Through that, we, people, multiply our changes due to every person’s influence on everyone. A small change in each person is multiplied by seven billion, while seven interconnected billion people influence every individual that much stronger. A special progression gets created, like a snowball that keeps getting bigger. It’s as if you activate an engine whose rotation increases by virtue of multiplication, by virtue of our interconnection.

People are at the highest level of nature. The force of thought and desire that is inherent to us exceeds all other factors. The most concealed force is always the greatest. The force of the human level lies above the forces of the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature. Therefore, with our changes, we influence everything that surrounds us. And the results are not confined to the human society. By changing, we bring all of the forces in the world into balance.

Then the weather will normalize, all sorts of natural occurrences will calm down, and problems like the energy deficit and the dwindling natural resources will be resolved. In every area where we experience trouble today, we will experience changes and will attain success because we thereby create balance in the whole natural system, which constitutes one whole.

Therefore, we don’t just want to make our lives a little bit easier. If you observe the law of nature on your level, then, being a person, a creature that rises above all the other levels of nature, you exert an influence on them. As Baal HaSulam writes, all of nature rises and descends together with man. It does not have the freedom of choice to advance toward balance. Only man, who evoked the imbalance, is able to bring it to balance, to unity. All of nature adjusts to man from below, being a system that merely accompanies our human system.

Question: Back in his time, Baal HaSulam seemed to be pounding on a closed door, trying to warn the nation of danger. And he understood what was happening. How did he not give up in the face of this impasse?

Answer: This is not an impasse. Success is in our hands, and we don’t have any other way to go – we have to act, especially today, when the whole world is in crisis. Today we are no longer talking about the survival of one particular nation, Israel because the collapse is drawing near every place you look.

A special situation has arisen where everyone understands that things are bad, but no one has a solution. These aren’t conflicts between the weak and the strong, the rich and the poor anymore, but on the contrary, we have come up against a global problem that will become expressed in the most radical form within a few months.

Under the circumstances, we have to unite stronger and stronger. Of course, it will be difficult. It’s like crossing the Red Sea: You won’t get anywhere until you jump into the water. But you have all of the conditions in order to jump.

Passing the Machsom is a problematic endeavor. It requires you to jump without looking back, but you do reach the state where you are able to do that.

Question: Is the modern world opening up to the science of Kabbalah?

Answer: Yes, but on the condition that we will unite and form a place inside of us for the quality of bestowal, for the Light, so through us it will influence the whole world. We have to become a transmission link, an “adapter” that conducts the Light to the other nations.

In the summer of 1940, Baal HaSulam published the newspaper “The Nation” in the last attempt to arrive at any practical actions before the Holocaust and in the face of the problems that enveloped the mandated Palestine of those times. He wanted to somehow push the nation closer to unity and did everything he could to accomplish this. However, as soon as the issue was published, his enemies immediately rose up and reported the newspaper to the British authorities, which closed down the newspaper on account of an accusation of socialist agitation.

Today we also don’t have any other solution besides realizing the path offered by Baal HaSulam – the path to unity. The situation that has arisen in Israel and the world is no less threatening than the situation in his time. But the conditions now are different, incomparably more favorable.

We have to take responsibility upon ourselves and realize it. And we are capable of it. We have the preparatory base for this, the opportunities, and the necessary inner and outer conditions. Everything is being built up only in order for us to organize ourselves correctly, and when we do, success is sure to come our way very soon.

Let’s become imbued by the spirit that Baal HaSulam wanted to transmit and that we, his followers, have to bring to life today.

We have many groups all over the world. And in this regard it is important for us to understand that all those who are personally connected to the world’s correction, who have received a point in the heart, are called “Israel.” They are the ones who are leading the world forward while living and acting in their respective countries. It’s similar to how the central group in Israel is helping the entire Jewish nation understand and realize the need for mutual guarantee. Every group in any country is in the same situation.

The countries of the world are like organs of the common body, belonging to different systems of its life support. Therefore, our groups can conduct vital forces to their respective nations in any part of the world. Every part of our movement in the world, every group has the same relationship with its nation as we have here with the nation of Israel.

Therefore, Baal HaSulam’s words are applicable to any group, as well as all the groups together and their relationship with the world because as we know from the science of Kabbalah, the particular and the general are equal.

If Nature itself is telling us that we have to advance toward a global, integral society and be in balance as one body, living by the law of mutual guarantee, then we have to understand how to achieve this. And it seems like we have many methods for doing that.

The science of Kabbalah puts it this way: Let’s advance with small steps. We shouldn’t create programs for thousands of years into the future or for the supposed duration of humanity’s probable existence. Let’s look at what we have to do today.

First of all, every person out of the seven billion people living on earth has to understand what it means to live together in an integral, global system. Let’s start coming closer to one another and developing our closeness. Let’s study the laws of this integral system, all of whose parts have to be interconnected.

After all, we are interconnected, but we don’t desire this, and therefore we are encountering a serious problem, like a family that is falling apart. However, while a husband and wife are able to get a divorce, we do not have this possibility. There is no place I can escape to away from the earth, and therefore I have to arrange the well-being of the family, of all seven billion household members.

We have to start with explanations of how to create a kind, good environment. After all, from the experience of our lives and from research, we see that essentially, the environment forms a person. No matter where you place a person, his environment today is him tomorrow.

This means that at the end of the day, people need to organize a “shell” around them out of the mass media, whose influence will prepare humanity for integrality so it could advance in the direction of mutual guarantee.

Let’s do this because it is definitely necessary. First of all, we will thereby reduce social problems such as violence, drugs, outbursts of dissatisfaction, terrorism, family problems, and so on. So for a start, let’s take upon ourselves the responsibility of studying globalization, which everyone is talking about, and integration, which everyone knows has enveloped us. Let’s understand what this is.

Let’s open a worldwide university that will enable everyone to understand the new world. This study should essentially take place all the time, from infancy until old age, because a person is inside of this system throughout his entire life, and the system takes care of him in every area of his activity.

That way, we will start educating and rearing ourselves with the help of scientists, psychologists, sociologists, politicians, mass media specialists, educators, school teachers, radio and TV commentators, newspaper columnists, and so on. Alongside the news and all the rest of the “entourage,” we will start talking about this and creating a common spirit. Through this, we will bring about changes in all of humanity.

If we look at different history textbooks, we will see how different their descriptions are. It would seem that humanity went through the same history, including all of its problems, wars, troubles, and successes, yet every nation describes it from its point of view. As a result, textbooks that are supposed to reflect the truth end up contradicting one another.

Sometimes I speak with leaders of different movements in other countries. Each of them is absolutely certain that his movement has to lead the whole world. This includes religious and secular movements, organizations related to ecology, wildlife protection, and many others. While I am among them, how do I differ from them?

Without trying to answer that question, we bring the Kabbalistic message to people in a different form. We do not try to prove who is right and who is wrong, and we don’t dissect different opinions. We don’t try to examine things from the standpoint of history or a religious direction because in each of these areas every person can present his own rationale to justify his opinion.

We invite people only to disengage from everything there is – from the past and the present, and to look into the future from the present moment. In this point we see that nature obligates us to set up the right interconnection, to enter balance, mutuality, and harmony, similar to a single body, an integral, global, pan-human system that senses itself and functions truly as one whole.

Nature obligates and pushes us to this. There is a lot of research confirming this, and we can rely on it. Besides, we don’t have anything else. All we can rely on is science, as it is written, “A person is guided only by what he sees.” Today facts are all we need, and we have to advance according to them.

The facts indicate that whether we want to or not, we are becoming a global, integral society that is internally welded by interconnection and total mutual guarantee. Essentially, this is the tendency of all of nature, and from one day to the next we see how it is becoming expressed more and more clearly.

A question arises: What is our role in this process? Can we now invent anything artificial, following whatever idea some politician, sociologist, political scientist, or other party has suddenly thought up? The world has already tried out all sorts of ideas and humanity has suffered duly due to them.

Perhaps we should simply research nature and be guided by the results of our research, not considering anything else but this? If we advance based on our research, which is conducted in nature, then there is no doubt that out of all the opportunities that little people have on this tiny earth, forsaken at the edge of the galaxy, which is forsaken on the outskirts of the universe, at least we have this one, real chance.

So let’s not sink into philosophy and demonstrate irreconcilability. From experience we already know that when you stand your ground and I stand mine, this only leads to wars and self-annihilation.

Today we desperately need a common denominator, which can only come from the inviolable laws of nature. Based on these laws, we can build the integrated society that is aimed at creativity rather than destruction.

In the News (From Spiegel Online International): “Relapse into planned economy: Since virtually all economic sectors rely heavily on oil, peak oil could lead to a ‘partial or complete failure of markets,’ says the [Bundeswehr] study. ‘A conceivable alternative would be government rationing and the allocation of important goods or the setting of production schedules and other short-term coercive measures to replace market-based mechanisms in times of crisis.’…

“Germany would not escape the crises of other countries, because it’s so tightly integrated into the global economy….

“The Bundeswehr study raises fears for the survival of democracy itself. Parts of the population could perceive the upheaval triggered by peak oil ‘as a general systemic crisis.’ This would create ‘room for ideological and extremist alternatives to existing forms of government.’ Fragmentation of the affected population is likely and could ‘in extreme cases lead to open conflict.’…

“‘States dependent on oil imports’ will be forced to ‘show more pragmatism toward oil-producing states in their foreign policy.’ Political priorities will have to be somewhat subordinated to the overriding concern of securing energy supplies. My Comment: It is a short-sighted policy. There are no sources of energy in the world. It will be sufficient only for the economy of reasonable (and necessary) consumption. This happens not because there is no energy, but because the plan of nature is to elevate humanity to the next level (next dimension) of development—to connect all people into one integral system and thus create a possibility of experiencing the Creator and the world not within ourselves, in egoism, this world, but outside ourselves, the upper world. By this and other methods, Nature (the Creator) compels us to correct ourselves.
