Service Staff

Dr. Michael LaitmanWhen they established the EU, representatives of the European countries signed endless agreements. The preparations for the union took many years. So what can they do now when the European dream is shattered?

They need to take into account that there are new problems nowadays, and that everyone should agree to correct them. The current events require corrections and updates. The previous measures that were taken are not enough. The world is developing and great changes take place and are reflected in the countries and the economies.

The crisis we see everywhere is reflected on everyone. They want to believe that they can “disperse” and ease the situation, but it isn’t so. They must yearn for connection, and to increasing it.

Eventually, the Europeans will understand this even if it hurts.

Practically, they must cancel all the boundaries in every aspect. Europe must become one sate, in which several peoples live together. They must “cover up” all the differences and become one people.

Nature obliges us to do that. At our current phase of development, we’ve all become mutually connected and there is nowhere to run. It isn’t something someone made up, or some nice idea, but an order from nature and time.

The Europeans will reach that, but we, who have the method for correction, do not participate in this process enough. We must bring our ideas to people, to give out materials and to build sites on the Internet that will provide our materials and explanations. There are going to be uprisings throughout the continent, so are we going to wait until everything is destroyed? Now is the time to wake up and to act.

Even the Arava convention is eventually intended to influence the world. We are only the link, the service staff; we serve the world and the Creator.

Therefore, we have no complaints. The Creator has put the Europeans in the state they are. He is doing His work, but we too have to do ours. This is the only way the desired change will come. But if we fail, they will blame us for all their troubles and they will be right because we are not bringing them the method of correction. Even if they don’t understand that, they feel that we can save them.

Therefore, it is first of all about our inaction. You can hate the rising fascism as much as you want, but the balance of powers depends on us. It also refers to our close neighbors, who have no free will. Ahmadinejad and the Hamas movement are also helpmates. It is time to see things realistically. We mustn’t let go.

In our world and in all the worlds, the Creator gave the Godly part from Above only to Israel, and so we can change the situation and fulfill the correction. It is the Light, of course that performs the action, but Israel evokes it and opens the way for it.

Awakening Of The World

The world is waiting. It doesn’t know yet, but in reality it needs it. This is why you have to get up on your feet as soon as possible and become ready for the role of the guides.

Today it is obvious that the governments are incapable of governing the world. After all, it no longer behaves according to the material laws. This period has ended.

The two worlds have become so close that the spiritual “induction” is already acting upon us from above although it’s not so clear yet. Today humanity has to awaken in the correct way and this is your task.

However, for this purpose you have to unite. I cannot set up a scream for help instead of you. Only when you really start to unite with friends more and more will you find the required tuning. The most important thing here is to glue into one whole so that everything would merge together into one. I will not do this for you since we are talking about the calibration of the common desires that are united as connected vessels.

Matter Is An Unrealized Intention

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: We are forming a collective desire before going to the Arava. How can we reduce the path of such a desire so that it transitions from material exertion into spiritual attainment?

Answer: In fact, there is no such thing as two worlds, material and spiritual. When our actions lack intention, it seems to us that we act within matter. The world around us is “visible” because of the deficiency of intention; that’s why we are bound to work with “reinforced concrete” by going through trouble and putting forth demands. They are nothing but the materialization of the defects of our intention. That’s what our material world is about. So far, there is no way out except working with “clay and bricks” as the sons of Israel did while they were in Egyptian exile.

Kabbalists gave several recommendations which allow us to draw the upper force upon us in order to get altered. I don’t know who I am at this time since I consist of a thousand parameters and have no idea how to change them. Besides, I don’t possess any ability for self-regulation. Real transformations are of a qualitative nature; I am not qualified at this time to envision the next step or shape.

This is the reason why we have this world and the group, toys which we “play” with. It’s okay that I act materialistically and egoistically, by doing so I trigger the influence of the upper Light upon me. It’s a very unusual remedy: I can connect to a notion called “we” and together we activate the mechanism of the group with the help of intention, studies, dissemination, and so on. Thus, we engage an even more superior mechanism, GAR of the world of Atzilut, from which we receive the Surrounding Light (Ohr Makif) that changes us. We try to connect with each other, participate in various events, join common meals, study and disseminate. The major thing in these activities is our unity.

We take part in all sorts of activities with egoistic intention (Lo Lishma) to the best of our ability as small children who don’t know accurate answers to their questions. By acting so, we initiate a system that comprehends our actions like a mother who senses her child even though he is not yet able to express his desires. She knows what he wants before he cries out.

The motherly system is ready to decipher our appeal. It’s Bina who gave birth to us and to whom our appeals return through a closed circle. It doesn’t matter whether our efforts are of a material nature; they will result in spiritual “discovery.”

Kabbalists accurately defined the place and specifics of human efforts: The group work should be as unified as possible. At the same time, we should address the world with the message that the Creator wishes us to convey to others; if we cope, the “discovery” will come to us by all means.

The Saving Of The Euro Has Been Postponed

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Associated Press): ” The leaders of the 17 countries that use the euro have delayed a decision on whether to give their bailout funds more firepower until later in March, European officials said Tuesday [February 28, 2012].

“Eurozone leaders were expected to meet Friday afternoon to decide whether the currency union’s bailout funds will be allowed to give more than €500 billion ($669 billion) in loans.

“However, Germany, the eurozone’s largest economy and the biggest contributor to both bailout funds, has so far resisted such a move.

“The delay of the decision on the bailout funds is yet another example of the slow pace of decision-making in the eurozone’s two-year-old debt crisis.”

My Comment: The euro will disappear if the EU doesn’t move on to full integration, which is impossible without compulsory integral education. This necessity was not taken into account by the founders of the EU, and they ignore it to this day. In the meantime, there is the threat of the disintegration of the EU, and if they don’t try to prevent it by implementing further integration measures, the disintegration will take place. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen by an explosion.

World Bank: China Faces Crisis

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Wall Street Journal): “An exclusive preview of an economic report on China, prepared by the World Bank and government insiders considered to have the ear of the nation’s leaders, offers a surprising prescription: China could face an economic crisis unless it implements deep reforms, including scaling back its vast state-owned enterprises and making them operate more like commercial firms.

“The report warns that China’s growth is in danger of decelerating rapidly and without much warning… A sharp slowdown could deepen problems in the Chinese banking sector and elsewhere, the report warns, and could prompt a crisis, according to those involved with the project.

“It recommends that state-owned firms be overseen by asset-management firms, say those involved in the report. It also urges China to overhaul local government finances and promote competition and entrepreneurship.

“While some reduction in growth is inevitable—China has been growing at an average of 10% a year for 30 years—the rate of decline matters greatly to the world economy. With Europe and Japan fighting recession and the U.S. experiencing a weak recovery, China has become the most reliable source of growth globally.

“But current forecasts by the Conference Board, a U.S. think tank, see the Chinese economy growing 8% in 2012, and slowing to an average annual growth rate of 6.6% from 2013 to 2016. …China’s annual growth rate will begin to ‘downshift’ by at least two percentage points starting around 2015.”

My Comment: The crisis will hit China in any case. The only solution is to restructure the entire society through integral upbringing of the population, and according to this, rebuild the whole country on the principles of reasonable consumption, equal distribution, and protection of the environment.

China Is No Longer A Locomotive

Dr. Michael LaitnanOpinion (Michael Khazin, an economist, from vz.ru): “In November 2011, the industrial production in China declined for the first time in three years. This is explained by the debt crisis in Europe, which has reduced demand for Chinese goods, as well as by reduction in domestic consumption.

“China now cannot quickly replace the falling external demand for the simple reason that it no longer produces any truly cheap goods. Energy costs have increased, labor costs and production costs have increased… In general, only wealthy Chinese can afford Chinese products.

“Excess production and infrastructure built for growth will put much pressure on the economy, requiring permanent and ineffective expenditures for their maintenance. Serious social problems will also burden the economy and the state. Like everyone else, China too faces very serious problems.”

My Comment: The crisis will spare nobody, and all countries and nations of the world will be plunged into it in order to feel the need to change the whole trend of human development from the material goals to the spiritual ones.

Spain’s Lost Generation? No, A Newfound One!

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (From ABC News): “Roughly half of all Spaniards between 16 and 24 are jobless, the highest level among the 17 nations that use the euro. It’s a devastating picture of blighted youth that threatens to distort Spain’s social fabric for years to come, dooming dreams, straining family structures and eroding the well-being of a rapidly aging population.

“‘This puts the whole welfare state at risk,’ said Gayle Allard, a labor market specialist at Madrid’s IE Business School. ‘The young people who are coming on the market now are the lost generation. They are losing the advantage of their youth and energy and that does not come back.’

“The staggering jobless figures — 48.6 percent for Spaniards between 16 and 24; 39 percent for those ages 20-29 — hold dire consequences for a country that grew accustomed to prosperity on the back of a property boom that collapsed in 2008.

“The 1.6 million unemployed teens and young adults in the nation of 47 million risk never having a decent start to a career. They probably won’t accumulate assets like their own homes or savings until they are in their 40s. And they then will likely face much higher taxes to maintain Spain’s costly social welfare system.

“What’s more, they’re expected to put off having children or have fewer than their parents, slashing a birth rate that’s already declining just as Spain’s large baby boom generation begins to retire. That means fewer people to absorb the costs of caring for the swelling ranks of pensioners.

“Anger and frustration among young adults have already taken root. Thousands erected protest camps last spring and summer in Madrid and Barcelona in illegal tent cities set up in central plazas.”

My Comment: There is only one solution: to change the attitude towards production, work, and society, that is, towards life in general. It is given to us to live in balance with nature and society, receiving what is necessary, being content with reasonable things that everybody else receives, working as needed for that, and using natural resources to meet these needs. Advertising is banned; everything is cut back to the necessary level, including the production of harmful pharmaceutical drugs.

To begin with, we need to describe the structure of such a society and then create a preliminary plan of the most painless transition to it. And all the freed time (80-90%  of the former work time), all the free time of housewives, the elderly, and children should be dedicated to upbringing, organized in community centers, vacant huge supermarkets and malls, hotels and former dens of vice.

Spain is an example of everyone’s future; moreover, this is only the beginning of, possibly, a bloody future if we do not organize the upbringing of the masses!

Cities Will Die Like This…

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Final Hour blog): “The city of Detroit has become the poster child for everything that is wrong with the U.S. economy – and for good reason. It literally looks like it is in the middle of a war zone or like a hurricane has hit it. The truth is that the city of Detroit is dying and it is simply not going to recover.

“It wasn’t always this way for Detroit. Decades ago, it was a shining example of America’s incredible manufacturing prowess. It was the center of the automobile revolution. At the time, nobody could have ever dreamed that one day Detroit would be the biggest economic disaster in the United States.

“But that is what has happened.

“Just consider the following facts….

“During the boom days of the 1950s, Detroit was a teeming metropolis of approximately 2 million people, but today the current population is less than a million and people are leaving in waves. The mayor of Detroit has admitted that while the “official” unemployment rate in Detroit is 27 percent, the ‘real’ unemployment rate in his city is somewhere around 50 percent.

“House prices of under $1000 are quite common in Detroit now, and there are some houses in the city that you can actually buy for just one dollar.

“Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bobb has announced a plan to close 44 Detroit schools. According to one estimate, the city of Detroit has 33,500 empty houses and 91,000 vacant residential lots.

“So how do you possibly save a city that is dying right in front of you? Well, the mayor of Detroit has unveiled his radical solution – you bulldoze one-fourth of the city.

“But sometimes it is not enough just to read facts and figures. Sometimes you just have to see what is going on with your own eyes before it will start to sink in. The short video news report posted below shows just how bad things have gotten in Detroit. Would you like to live in a city that looks like this?…

“Before you jump on Detroit too much, the reality is that this is going to happen to a lot more American cities before all of this is over. It is not just the economy of Detroit that is dying. It is the entire U.S. economy this is dying.

“The United States has piled up the biggest mountain of debt in the history of the world, and now the day of reckoning is here. Millions of Americans have already lost their homes and their jobs, but this is only the beginning. Incredibly hard economic times are on the way, and unfortunately America is going to pay the price for going into so much debt. Please make sure to prepare yourself and your family for the times that are ahead because they are not going to be easy.”

My Comment: Of course, salvation is the immediate introduction of the law of mandatory integral education and upbringing, whereby instead of benefits, participants of integral education courses receive scholarship, and their study is considered as work or study at university (to make it reliable and attractive).

The next part of the program is to make the city crystal clean and attractive to tourists and shoppers. All the residents of the city should voluntarily participate in this, as a result of their integral upbringing. It cannot be done without upbringing. Upbringing makes everything possible!

Europe Goes On Strike

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Voice of Russia): “Unwilling to accept cuts in wages and social spending, the Europeans go on strike almost every day. Obviously, in the coming year we will see many more strikes in Europe. The EU will have to save in order to overcome the crisis, but the measures to reduce budget spending and market reforms are very painful for the population.”

My Comment: Humanity must switch consciously or through wars and crises from the economy of (unlimited) consumerism to the economy or reasonable (necessary, balanced) consumption. This will free up to 70-80% of the workforce. According to the law of nature, we need to distribute the remainder of work in the most ecological (with minimum cost) and effective way among all the workforce.

We, all the inhabitants of the Earth, must dedicate the time freed from extra (harmful) work to our integral education and upbringing, the method of homeostasis (balance with nature), until we achieve integral connection between us and feel the upper level of the governing forces of Nature.

A Ghost Is Roaming Europe…

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Paul Krugman, Nobel Prize winning economist): “The 130-billion euro aid will not save Athens from default, and ultimately Greece will have no choice but to leave the EU. Politicians are not paving the road for exiting the crisis, but leading the EU to the collapse.

“’Europe is a major threat not only to the US, but the entire world economy. A total failure of European politicians to develop a comprehensive anti-crisis solution… is evident.’

“‘The strategy of cutting back on spending during the crisis does not help.

“‘There is a widespread misconception that a time of saving is suitable for structural reforms because the transformation will make more people unemployed. Structural reforms must be carried out at a time of prosperity of the economy. The Lost Decade in Europe is the end of the EU story that simply will not survive such a weak growth.

“‘The crisis heats up society. The “Arab Spring” can spread around the world, or on the opposite, there might be a slant towards authoritarian regimes, like it happened in Hungary. The example of Hungary is a possible scenario for Europe, and it is very scary. The world is now in the state like in 1934, and the economic crisis creates high political volatility. … I have never seen such uncertainty. Any turn of events is possible in social order.”

My Comment: Again, he advocates expanding the economy, rather than bringing it to a reasonable size, and strengthening the consumer society, rather than against it. The EU will disappear not due to the lack of growth, but due to the lack of unity because it is not the EU by concept. And as for the possibilities of the Nazi regimes in the EU countries, Baal HaSulam wrote about it in his newspaper “The Nation (HaUma)” 70 years ago.
