Money Or Elation?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In the corporeal world, a person who makes great effort into working on something gets a reward, for example, in the form of money.

Answer: Money is a fulfillment. This is how a person depicts his greatness, power, and domination. Money itself has no smell, but it is these images and descriptions within our desire that draw us to money as to something that is equivalent to all the fulfillments. In an equal, integral society, the equivalent of fulfillment is elation, the sensation.

Question: How should society give us this feeling? Does it happen automatically?

Answer: Of course, society is already on this “round” level, just like all of nature that is now revealing itself actively. It was always round, but we looked at it through our linear ego. Today, when the ego is becoming round, we are becoming more like nature that surrounds us, and eventually we discover an infinite source of energy and fulfillment.

Europeans In Crisis Started Drinking More

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Reuters): “People in Europe drink more alcohol than in any other part of the world, downing the equivalent of 12.5 litres of pure alcohol a year or almost three glasses of wine a day, according to report by the World Health Organisation and the European Commission. …

“In a breakdown of drinking by sub-region, the heaviest drinkers were in central-eastern and eastern Europe – consuming 14.5 litres of pure alcohol per adult per year compared to 12.4 litres in central-western and western Europe, 11.2 litres in southern Europe and 10.4 litres in Nordic countries.”

My Comment: Humanity will certainly plunge into any means that help to disconnect from reality, especially those who are ruined and unemployed, and only the quick organization of the courses in integral education and upbringing will help not only to prevent falling, but also to raise people to the next level of development, a “Human Being,” to what the crisis pushes us.

An Integral Society Is A Source Of Power

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How will the connection in the integral environment ensure that a person will at least have enough to eat?

Answer: Suppose people are detached from one another, don’t want to communicate, and have a sad and empty look in their eyes. Put them in a circle next to one another so that they will touch each other’s knees, like kids, and put their hands on each other’s shoulders or knees, and they will begin feeling one another.

You will see how they begin to trigger some collective field, and suddenly, from the inside, signs of life will begin to appear in them. All this is because they are becoming similar to the general integral system, by triggering the power of this system on themselves, not linearly, but integrally, in a circle, and this power gradually begins to operate in them, spinning as if in a ring, like a current in a conductor that creates a field.

Thus, people begin to wake up since all of them together inside the circle are now equal to the global system with which nature is now presenting us. They receive powers, desires, a mind, and new attributes that are based on cooperation, on integrality.

They gradually begin to feel the world and to see it through an integral attribute that is cleared to them through this collective power. Each of them stops feeling his “self” and begins to feel the general “we,” the united “self” where there is no “me,” no “you,” and no “him,” but only one “self” that exists among everyone and through which they see everything.

Then, totally new conditions, attributes, powers, and options on a new level appear on the internal level, and from that, they grow. They cut themselves off from the past since it means falling back into the emptiness and the sadness.

Today, a person can be a member of the integral society and only through it, receive the power, ideas, goals, and values, and act in order to attain them. If he isn’t enclosed within the integral society, he has no power source and no desire, and he cannot work and won’t be able to operate.

It is the same with the entire world. Of course, all countries will gradually come to this. Especially now, when millions of unemployed people will be on the streets, the middle class gradually will disappear and thus lose its uniqueness. If we don’t work with them, a terrible future awaits these people.

A Happy State

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Suppose I am on duty in the kitchen, peeling vegetables and so on. Do I have to imagine that I am serving the general, future integral system before I begin working?

Answer: Of course. It is a kind of internal training. I give all my energy to the integral system, and, at the same time, I should feel that I absorb this general power, and through it, I begin to feel the new, round world.

What is more, the world is becoming integral since I feel it above time and place, above the linear measurements, above the three axes according to which we see the world today. I feel it in a totally different way, just like in fantasy films that describe the formation of time and place.

I actually begin to feel this since the world is an internal feeling. So, I begin to perceive it in another dimension, in the next dimension. Nature is pushing us toward this. When I peel that potato, I feel that while I do that, I am getting closer to the next picture of the world.

This may not sound convincing to a person and may seem far from real, but if one studies this practical approach in the group, then in a couple of lessons, he will be able to feel all this. Then, he will have no problems.

If he is motivated, not corporeally, but by adhesion to society from which he can rise thanks to his adhesion to it and the communication with it, then all the social work will become an opportunity for him, a happy state in order to rise. He will see it as his greatest reward and the greatest compensation there is.

I Want Everyone To Feel Good!

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What exactly does our connection come down to?

Answer: Our connection is based on the fact that we are all part of one society and we want to make it a better, more just, kind, and compassionate society that listens carefully to every individual.

I want everyone to feel good! No one should be dispossessed of his assets and we shouldn’t take money from the rich. No one can neglect any of the weaker strata of society: the poor, the elderly, or women. One should not profit at the expense of another.

This is possible only if we first establish a fair society based on equality. From this perspective, we will treat everyone like in a family where there are children, elderly, and parents with many responsibilities, obligations, and problems. However, if we all sit at around the table, we understand what the child needs, what medicines grandpa needs, and what the household expenses should be. Now we look at what is left and we divide the rest among us and live on it.

If we could act and solve all the problems in society in such a loving attitude towards everyone, no one would complain about why we acted the way we did. Everyone would see that it is all done fairly since a baby has certain needs and an elderly has other needs. This means that we first have to attain connection like in a good family.

Then even if we don’t have great resources, they will suffice and no one will suffer and feel deprived, which is the main complaint people usually express as they feel that they don’t have what the others have and what is more, it is at my expense.

An Infinite Source Of Energy

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Should a person oblige himself to stick to a certain routine, or is it enough to feel a general inspiration in order to be harmony?

Answer: We must understand one thing: A person in his linear ego cannot make himself do something. The one who is in contact with society doesn’t force himself to do anything.

Society inspires him and directs him towards new desires. He, seeing them as his own as well as of society (“we” and the new “I” among us), begins to act accordingly. A different type of “round” desires appear in him, which are necessary for all of society. He fulfills them gladly and they become his own, but they are actually the same desires society needs.

Then a work schedule appears in him naturally. It isn’t difficult to follow a daily schedule; he can even work 20 hours a day. He has enough energy. Both the desires and the energy come from society, and this is where he feels the reward when he actually realizes these desires.

“Civilization Basically Stopped Progressing In The 1960s”

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Peter Thiel, billionaire Facebook investor, former PayPal CEO, and Palantir co-founder): “For most of recent human history—from the invention of the steam engine in the late 17th century through about the late 1960’s or so—technological process has been tremendous, perhaps even relentless. In most prior human societies, people made money by taking it from others. The industrial revolution wrought a paradigm shift in which people make money through trade, not plunder.

“The zenith of optimism about the future of technology might have been the 1960’s. People believed in the future. They thought about the future. Many were supremely confident that the next 50 years would be a half-century of unprecedented technological progress.

“But with the exception of the computer industry, it wasn’t. Per capita incomes are still rising, but that rate is starkly decelerating. Median wages have been stagnant since 1973. People find themselves in an alarming Alice-in-Wonderland-style scenario in which they must run harder and harder—that is, work longer hours—just to stay in the same place. This deceleration is complex, and wage data alone don’t explain it. But they do support the general sense that the rapid progress of the last 200 years is slowing all too quickly.”

My Comment: All the years of development after 1960 have not been beneficial for mankind. We need to rise to the next level and strive to achieve goals other than the material ones that no longer can satisfy and benefit us.

Preparing High Level Experts

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe training course for integral education teachers and educators should include, among others: the formation of the integral force as a new and unprecedented component.

If a football team, for example, gets together, it is simply the sum of all their efforts.

But here, since every individual annuls himself before the others, thereby raising all the others and wanting to be equal to them, to attain the common field, the agreement among everyone, we begin to feel that a new force is born among us: a new collective desire and a new mind. It is as if a new collective person is born (let’s call him Adam) who is created between us. And we live our collective life, in collective desires, in collective attributes, and in collective thoughts.

This must be included in the training for teachers and educators, they must know about this. All the others will feel it instinctively; they will have the feeling that they somehow know it.

Question: Should professionals teach these courses?

Answer: I think that we should invite scientists that will add to the material that we teach or we should use films that present their ideas. This illustrative material will give the students the opportunity to, first, be sure that they are not being taught fragmented and partial material and, in addition, to understand the issues more deeply, to learn to answer questions, and to be more knowledgeable. On the whole, these are the same topics of the integral method but a bit deeper.

Actually the method is very simple. The only thing we need to attain here is integrality, to feel the new integral force.

By the way, this force appears in every integral system, both in a mechanical system and in our bodies. This is because the body constantly monitors the balance of the bodily systems.

The same thing happens in a group when people attain integrality; they begin to reach such a self-sustaining internal balance, which leads to absolute wellbeing and comfort. They don’t want to leave this since it is a good feeling. Through these comfortable states, through the new collective desire and new mind, suddenly most of the problems are solved and most of them simply disappear since the system changes from digital (operating on pulses) to integral, to a round, harmonious, analog system.

The main thing is to explain to people, after several “round” workshops, that they should perceive what is created among them and relate with greater sensitivity to the this new force by which they will solve all their problems and will begin to rise above themselves, above the ego. This force will create a society that is on a higher level than the old one.

Arvut Movement Press Conference

On June 11th, the Israeli Writers’ House in Tel Aviv held a press conference of the social Arvut Movement that brought together representatives from all types of media: newspapers, radio, TV and the Internet: News of the Week, Satellite, Age, Reka, Nine, Zman.com, Mignews, etc.

The representatives of the movement talked about the objectives and basic directions of their activity and responded to questions.

The Arvut Movement strongly proclaimed itself in the hot summer of 2011 when the reality of the “global village” announced itself in the protest movement in the streets of Israeli cities. Integral relationships, which gripped the world, put everyone in very tough conditions and left Israel, with its tangle of problems, no room for error. The crisis quickly dispels the illusions of the past: If we don’t learn to live by new rules, we will be forced to study the science of survival.

And so, the main goal of the Arvut Movement is to consolidate the society on the basis of the principle of mutual guarantee. Disagreements and conflicts should not mislead us, although sometimes they seem unresolvable. We need to rise above what divides us and unite around common solutions to all problems.

The Arvut Movement quickly managed to unite thousands of people from all walks of life. Its materials are published in leading websites; it publishes books and pamphlets, gives lectures and organizes seminars in various organizations. Along with this, the movement focuses its forces on several major projects, covering the widest audiences.

The technique of integral education was developed by international efforts. The educational programs of the movement were presented in UNESCO and the UN. They are already used in U.S. prisons, and Šiauliai University signed an agreement to use the technique of integral education in their educational process.

In the media, the Israeli TV channel Arvut.tv is created on the basis of Channel 66. It serves as the foundation for programs on the subject of mutual guarantee, broadcasting the concept of the unity of society in a variety of genres, without which no modern problem can be solved.

Roundtables in Hebrew and Russian, which are regularly conducted throughout the country, are the flagship project of the movement. This scheme has been already used by dozens of cities, as well as colleges Tel Hai, Beit Berl, the University of Haifa, and even the Knesset (the Israeli general assembly). Here, polar points of view come in contact, and seemingly irreconcilable opponents find common ground.

This summer, the Arvut Movement, together with large public organizations such as the youth movement Scopus, Association of Community Centers, Council of Judea and Samaria, Kulanana, Union of Volunteers, Kenes Sderot le hevrah, youth movement Bnei Akiva, Israeli Students Association, Tnuat a-Noar Be Yisrael, Maccabi Hatzair youth movement, organization Maace, Israel’s Women’s Parliament, and women’s organization Ahoti (“My Sister”), are carrying out a wide campaign called “120 Roundtables: Public Dialogue or a Collective Position.” In the consolidation of society, we cannot do without mutual guarantee, and first of all, it requires a restructuring of values because society cultivates values based on division and stiff competition.

During the summer months, roundtable discussions will be simultaneously held in most cities of the country; they will be attended by representatives from all levels of government. This public campaign will be completed in the Knesset in November.

Of course, journalists had many questions: “Can the idealistic idea of mutual guarantee be combined with the tired society that believes in nothing? Where is the guarantee that a collision with the reality of the Israeli political kitchen does not become bitter disappointment?”

– “We are not an insurance company,” said Zion Alon, a strategic adviser to the movement. “Only one thing can be guaranteed: the failure of the old way has put us on the threshold of degradation.”

“But is not an attempt to negotiate with those who are guilty in this situation doomed to fail?”

– “We focus not on trying to negotiate, but on changing the approach to solving problems,” said Igor Dion, head of the Russian-speaking department of the Arvut Movement. “We find a firm basis of common interests, and only at this level do we begin to agree with each other. Any other approach automatically makes right the one who is strong.”

The word “utopia” sounded repeatedly in the audience.

– In Greek, it means a place that doesn’t exist, explained Emma Sotnikova, press secretary of the movement. “You need to create this place to change the relationship between people. Otherwise, Israel has no future. In the 21st century, in the information age, the “Fourth Power” becomes the first one. So, use it for good,” she encouraged journalists.

After the press conference ended, discussions and disputes continued on the sidelines, which made it obvious that the topics raised by the Arvut Movement were interesting for many of the invited guests.
