Soon, we will encounter resistance around the world. So far, we are not very noticeable, but resistance is awaiting us in the future. After all, the world does not understand that evil becomes revealed so that we would rise above it.

The world simply wants to eliminate this evil, while we, conversely, have to correct it. As it is said: “The greatest hero is the one who turns his hater to a friend.” Then, the serpent, the angel of death, becomes a holy angel.

For this reason we must have a creative attitude toward all the difficulties and opposition, searching for an opportunity to use them to build bestowal and eternal life. The entire difference between a broken world and a corrected one lies in the way we use our desire. We only need to change the intention from egoistic to altruistic.

We have to explain this to everyone by showing the essence of the breaking or, speaking in the modern language, the essence of the crisis. It is exclusively about the revelation of the evil of our nature. It can only be corrected by rising above the egoistic use of desires toward love. This is the only place where we have freedom of will, whereas people are completely not free in all other aspects.

The more consistent we are, the more confident and serious we will be, and the quicker we will understand that we are in the war of the Creator and Amalek that happens in all generations. Amalek is the entire essence of evil, our egoism, its true essence. The war happens “in all generations,” which means that it happens on every stage of our existence, from one reincarnation to another.

This is why it is very important to collect scientific data about the crisis from around the world. Scientists have nothing to do with Kabbalah, and we present the results of their studies that state that the crisis is essentially the result of human egoism. Only unity can serve as a remedy for this illness, the unity of all of us above egoism.

We will use accessible language to explain to the world the Kabbalistic view of the state of the affliction and the healthy state. Then, the only thing left will be to “prescribe the medication,” to complete the intermediary link. Mark the illness with the minus sign and the corrected state with the plus sign.

The problem is that people do not know what the solution is. To them, the remedy is a big question mark.

Today, it already is clear that our ego is the cause of the illness and that our recovery is connected to bestowal. So, when will we be able to come out of the crisis? It will be once we unite. Thus, our objective is to attain a mutual guarantee so that all of us would be soldered into one.

However, the world is avoiding this solution because egoism does not desire unity. It will not leave us until we start suffocating. It must be like this in order to bring us directly to the goal: the need to unite. Egoism keeps revealing its evil to us until it really becomes unbearable to us. Only then will we be able to escape our ego toward the quality of bestowal and then turn actual egoism into bestowal.

Question: In connection to the protest movement in Israel, it’s scary to see that people do not understand the essence of what is happening….

Answer: What we have here is a “festival” and nothing more. There are people who really do want to change the situation in the direction of social justice. But what is “social justice”? Let’s discuss this with politicians and economists. If you want to exert a real influence, then you have to go into politics—there’s no other way to go about it. We are all smart and even housewives think that everything has to be done differently, but that is no way to get things done.

Start looking deeper into the situation and you will see that everything is permeated by countless threads of interconnections. Every person has his own opinion and his own calculation. Every person is flaunting his own muscles; finding a solution is not simple at all.

There’s one thing that can’t be denied: We have to reach a consensus and create a somewhat different balance—take away a little over here and add a little over there. However, nothing will appear out of thin air. Any addition can be found only by cutting something off somewhere else. That’s why the head of Israel’s central bank is proposing that the demonstrators sit down at a negotiations table, since the issue at stake is a complex conglomerate of problems.

Besides, the situation is not nearly as horrible as some people are trying to make it appear. The economy is on the rise and foreign investors are investing a lot of money in the country, which is not typical for the modern world by any means.
Obviously, there are things that have to be fixed. So let’s act step by step. Let’s create an open forum where we will present a list of demands, and all together we will place things in the right order of priorities.

That is how questions are solved in a family: We sit down and start discussing the situation. Everything has to be considered: the number of children, the health and well-being of the parents, the monthly income, savings for an emergency situation, the necessary expenditures, and a priorities list….

And we have to act on the national and worldwide levels according to the same principle. That is why we need an open forum and a “familial” interconnection, built upon mutual guarantee. That is the only way we will make the right calculation, by understanding that everyone depends on everyone and by supporting bonds of love and unity among us. No one wants to profiteer off another person. On the contrary, we review all of the possibilities and look for a way that will satisfy everyone as much as possible.

Like in an amicable family, we have to insert optimality into the formula of the solution. And here we won’t manage without an open forum where the government and the nation will reach a mutual agreement. However, the instigators who are manipulating the protest pose an obstacle to this, and the government still isn’t “concerned” enough by what is happening.

Eventually the course of events will spur them to this, but even now it’s already clear what the right solution is: an open forum based on just one principle of mutual guarantee. Here we will discuss how to divide the “common pie” between all members of the family. Let’s take all of the circumstances into consideration, put everything in their places, and see who needs help and to what extent. Then, by mutual agreement, we will start solving the problems one by one.

If we want to receive funds at the tycoons’ account, then we have to invite them to the forum as well. Let’s show them respect. After all, people receive salaries by working at their corporations. If we force them to leave the market, then major investments in the economy will run dry. Blaming the rich man for all the troubles is the last thing we should be doing. He will simply close up his factory and go away, and you will be left without work, but with your nose proudly up in the air.

Why should a rich man be ashamed of his wealth? That is how the world is arranged. Do you want to turn it upside down? Then you will be left without food.

At the end of the day, everything depends on upbringing. But in any case, the most important thing is dialogue. There are simply no other alternatives.

Many people today want to “ride” the wave of the protest, and that includes the politicians who have brought the country to the current state of affairs. “We also think that the housing situation is unbearable.” But wait a minute, weren’t you the ones who made the decisions back in your time? Wasn’t it you who sat in the legislature and government for years, facilitating the exacerbation of the problems?

The only thing that will help us is an open forum under the common roof of mutual guarantee.

Editorial in the news (by Professor Y. Zair): The events of the last few days have shown that the Israeli society resists minimizing the government’s participation in managing the country because people want to live in a unified society that does not extol competition at any price, but supports mutual guarantee, care for one another, and a much more humane society.

All of the classes are interlinked with one another. The youth is giving us a wonderful lesson of brotherly relationships between people.

There is not a single party in Israel that proclaims equality as a value. Perhaps the phenomenon we are observing in Israel is one of the first harbingers of a new, worldwide tendency.

My Comment: All that’s left is to discern how to turn this tendency into new social relations in order to reveal the new, upper world inside of them.

Last night, on August 6th, there were mass demonstrations held all over Israel, demanding social justice. The central event was held in Tel Aviv, where hundreds of thousands of people came out to the streets.

Banners of the “mutual guarantee” movement were visible in almost all of the photos and videos published by news agencies and shown in the news. These banners, carried by several thousands of participants, appealed for justice and unification regardless of one’s political views. They proclaimed mutual guarantee as the highest value.

The “mutual guarantee” movement was founded by the “Kabbalah L’Am” movement. Its objective is to unite the nation, in conformity to the demands of the new era, as part of humanity’s process of becoming a single, integral whole. Today, the topic of the mutual guarantee which we proclaim is being vigorously discussed in the Israeli mass media and picked up by a wide audience.

The only way we can come closer to observing the principle of love thy neighbor is under the condition of mutual guarantee. And to reach it, we need to follow Kabbalists’ advice to the point; otherwise we won’t succeed.

Baal HaSulam writes in one of his letters that if a person even slightly deviates from the right path, the further he goes along, the greater his deviation and mistake becomes. It’s in this way that he completely deviates from the direction towards the goal, although he doesn’t feel that he has wandered from the path because he deviates from it a little bit at a time. But in the end, all these deviations add up and become one big, bitter mistake.

This is why the people who decide to go towards this goal must have an order, a charter. It is as Rabash writes: “We have gathered here to establish a society…” And the principle is for everyone to connect with the purpose of annulling oneself before the rest, above all the obstacles and disturbances that come from Above, the upper force, whether we see it or not.

Everything comes from Malchut of the world of Infinity where we are all connected: the Light and the vessel. All the desires and the Lights exist in the world of Infinity in absolute unity and adhesion, in the initial state created by the Creator, or the state of final correction (State 1 and State 3). However, we feel as if we exist in the intermediate state (State 2), either somewhere along the spiritual ladder or even beneath it, on its very last degree called “our world.”

This is why everything that happens to us comes from Malchut of the world of Infinity. That is the only place we must turn to for help—the form where we exist as one man with one heart, full of revelation of the Creator, the Light, according to our similarity to Him.

And the rule of “Love thy neighbor as thyself” is the law of existence of the collective soul which exists in the world of Infinity. This is why this law really is a “great, general rule” or, as Rabbi Akiva has said, a huge vessel for all the infinite Light that becomes revealed in it.

Question: Regarding mutual guarantee, you bring in the example of the work of the organs in the human body, where each organ lives in mutual guarantee with the others. The system is closed and united.

However, there is no uniform system in human society. Here and there, people become united in various groups which, as a rule, fight against each other. However, there is no perception of human society as one general system similar to the human body. I do not feel the other person as part of my body and thus, do not provide him with mutual guarantee.

Answer: You are saying the following: All the examples that you bring in from scientific research, as well as what we observe in nature according to the principle of “a judge has only what his eyes can see” are beautiful examples. Everything is good and wonderful, but I personally do not feel it. I can understand it logically, but an understanding in my mind is not enough to compel me to exist in an integral form.

If it were in my sensations, if I knew that by not acting together with you, I do not succeed and that I need you in order to reach some life-important goal, everything would be fine. Yet, you are saying that a good life is possible on condition that you and I are connected. Then, we will reach a better life, the goal, and emerge from the crisis and all the environmental issues. However, I do not feel that. I can understand this as do the scientists.

But why do these scientists not go out together and shout? What prevents them from doing this? Don’t they see the facts? They do! Why do they not unite, go out, and begin shouting: “Friends, a bit more of this, and the world will explode! The Earth will collapse and crumble into pieces!” Why do they not scream about this, foreseeing the very unpleasant events in the future?

This is because they all have the same problem. I can give you a list of thousands of scientists, sociologists, political scientists, leading economists, and many clever people who observe our problems and see that we must pursue only unity. Why do they not unite? It’s because they do not feel it, but only see it.

There is a difference between feelings and the mind. What exists in the mind does not oblige a person. How many times does it happen in our personal lives that we see and know that we should not do something, but we still do it. Let’s use smoking as an example. Although they say that smoking is harmful, the pleasant sensations or laziness leaves me under the power of this habit.

What can I do? I do not see other people besides us who would be able to realize this. We must organize this environment by force. When the environment artificially begins to talk about the need for unity, for global and integral interconnection, this environment will bring a new sensation to everyone.

Then, everyone will feel: “I really need this! Why don’t I have it?” In the same way, we are impressed by advertising flickering before us. It will pass from the mind to feelings. A feeling is a desire, and the mind is a thought. I have to be impressed within my desire and plead to obtain it. A desire should be an intense longing for something.

This is possible only through envy, lust, and a desire for honor, when I see that everyone talks about this, that they value and advertise these facts to me. Otherwise, it means nothing to me. This is how they advertise a new mattress: “You must buy it! Without it, you do not know what good sleep is!”

If this ad is working all the time, I have no choice. As a result, I will recall the name of that company, and on some occasion, I will go to a store and buy it. If not I, the majority of people will succumb to this ad. It works in this way. Therefore, up to 70 percent of the cost of goods is put into advertising.

We can see how much advertising directs us at its object. That is why we have to deal only with advertising. And it’s not because of someone’s interest, but because we have no choice. Let’s start to advertise this important message to ourselves.

Then, through real brainwashing, we will come to understand the importance of integration, unity, and mutual guarantee. Then, we will miss this; we will suddenly desire this. Why? It’s because the general awareness of the importance prevailing in the environment will rule over me since I am under its influence.

With regard to the protest movement in Israel, we have to give people an explanation of what stands behind the demands they are advancing to the government today. In essence, we are giving them sensible, real concepts so they would understand the essence of their slogans.

What’s the point of simply screaming about equality? After all, it can only be relative, limited.

What’s the point of screaming out slogans of unity if we are egoists and hate one another? It follows that we have to unite above our egoism, and for that we need an exalted goal. It’s similar to how during times of war, when we wish to save ourselves, we feel closer together, even though this is not real unity yet.

What’s the point of becoming all emotional about mutual guarantee? What does it mean? A bank guarantee? No, it means that in our society, everyone is soldered together into one and it’s impossible to avoid this. Then, unwillingly, out of having no other choice, to avoid slitting each other’s throats, we create a dependence called mutual guarantee.

Nature has already instilled this connection into the system, but humanity is still not aware of that. On our part, we already feel and understand that everyone are in “one pot” and we don’t have any other possibility besides observing the integral law of mutual guarantee.

However, mutual guarantee requires us to first of all be responsible: Every person bestows to others and depends on them. It’s the same as in a family: I depend on the children, and they depend on me. We are connected by the force of love and interdependence, for good or for bad. And now let’s make this unbreakable connection between us good and pleasant, so it will open up the future to us. No matter how you look at it, we are already in this situation, so let’s make it desirable.

If I am sorry about the fact that we depend on one another, then it’s easier for me to leave everyone and run away. But we are rising to a different level: We want this connection, and even if it wasn’t there, we would still build the mutual guarantee among us from zero.

In Kabbalah this is called “as one man with one heart.” If our demonstrators want that kind of unity—go ahead, it’s all yours. However, first it is necessary to explain everything to them. In mutual guarantee, every person receives the necessities and gives everything else to the society, and without that bestowal, society cannot exist. That is the meaning of mutual guarantee. This is how we have to take care of others.

Comment: Some of the protestors have clear demands. By “social justice” they mean free education, normal rent prices, care about the general well-being, accessible medical service for every person, a worthy salary for doctors, and transparency of the government’s actions….

Answer: Very well. However, this requires the whole nation to rise to a level where people will understand how the legislative and executive powers operate, how laws are passed, and how they are implemented in life. Every person has to understand what it means to analyze a situation, make decisions, and realize them in practice.

Go ahead, involve the nation. That is how problems used to be solved once, “by everyone.” However, millions of people cannot get together for a meeting, and that’s why people have given a mandate to separate representatives or accepted the power of the “lord,” throwing the weight of responsibility off their own shoulders.

If we want to raise people to intelligent decisions of a social, national character, we have to introduce the corresponding upbringing. Today it’s not enough to have just knowledge about the structure of the government. A person has to be part of the decision-making process within the framework of the mutual guarantee and unity among everyone.

If you want justice—go ahead: Unite as it requires. Only then will you be able to analyze and understand the situation. Only then will you grasp and carry out the law of justice.

One way or another, we run into the need for upbringing. Let us hope that people will understand this.

In the articles “The Giving of the Torah” and “The Mutual Guarantee,” Baal HaSulam explains that the rule of “love thy neighbor as thyself” is the formula of our correction. We can correct ourselves only in the connection with others.

Conversely, without this connection, you have no opportunity, no place for correction. What can a person deprived of the connection with others do? This is exactly why the breaking occurred and the evil inclination was created so that above it, we would extend our threads to one another. This is all that is required of us.

In the first stage, we unify as Hillel, the sage, taught: “Do not do to the friend what is hateful to you.” And then we move on what Rabbi Akiva advised: “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Thus we reach the end of correction and realize ourselves according to the Thought of Creation.

“The Torah,” the method of correction, is given to us if we agree to become as one man with one heart. With this method, by working in a group, we can demand correction from the upper force, the Light, or the Creator.

Essentially, the process of correction can be called attainment of the mutual guarantee, which is a certain connection between all souls. “Souls” are the giving desires in people. If people forge a bond and desire to bestow to each other, the form of this connection is called “mutual guarantee.”

There are people in the world whose desire lights up with a spark, a seed of altruistic desire. If they unite to blow these sparks up in each and all together, if they support and help each other to grow the sprouting forces in order to tie them together, then they form a system that fulfills the conditions of guarantee. In this interconnected, integrated system, all of them are as one man with one heart, according to the condition on which they had received the method.

Thus they reach the property of mutual guarantee, and in it, the upper force is revealed. It was specifically this force that gave them the desire, planted the sparks in it, and presented them with the method of correction that enables the friends to become similar to it in properties. It is revealed in them precisely according to the magnitude of this equivalence.

Hence, in the collective work to correct the world, some people wake up before the others. These people aspire to correct themselves, to achieve the unification and guarantee, a fusion between them, and merge with the upper force accordingly. They are aspiring directly to the Creator (Yashar El) and want to realize their desire in their relationship, as well as all together before Him. This is why they are called Israel; they are special and must lead by example, as an education force for the rest of the world.

In all other people this spark, the impulse to bestow, does not emerge from within. Only sorrows of life will make them realize the necessity of self-correction, but even then, they cannot do without those who are called “Israel,” those who attain some degree of connection, who implement the method of correction. That is why at the end of the article “The Mutual Guarantee,” Baal HaSulam quotes the Bible that the sons of Israel must become the “kingdom of priests” and a “holy nation.” Priests do not have possessions: They only nurture the people, assist, and organize it.

Thus we, those yearning toward the goal of creation, have to understand that by transforming ourselves into bestowal to each other, we are merely preparing ourselves for the real job, for bestowal to the world. This is our destiny, and for this we were awakened before the others.

Question: We have the basis of correction: the question about the meaning of life. What basis do the masses have?

Answer: We attribute our question about the meaning of life directly to the lack of unity. The Light is manifested in unity, and therefore, we have to take care namely of our unity. It turns out that the meaning of life for us is to be connected with each other.

As for the others, the meaning of life for them is still in various egoistic goals. At the first stage, they should understand that a means of achieving these goals is unity. By becoming united, they will get what they want.

And then, on the way to this, they will gradually begin to understand, to realize: “Affordable housing is important, but unity is more important.” Then, they will come to correction.

Our explanations start from the point that unity should be used as a proper means to succeed in life. Hence, it becomes clear that we talk about the most important, the best tool that we have. In the language of Kabbalah, this intention is called “Lo Lishma”: We want to use the power of our unity for egoistic purposes.

Then, beginning to appreciate unity, we find in the connection between us an “added value,” which in itself provides a special, incomparable status, an unprecedented feeling. Thus, we reveal the “addition” in unity: We suddenly begin to like taking care of each other; we find a unique charm in mutual bestowal, in mutual guarantee.

This pleasure from mutual bestowal is that very pleasure that the Creator originally desired to give us at the Thought of Creation. Baal HaSulam writes about this in the book Ohr Bahir (The Bright Light) that the purpose of creation is to bring pleasure to His creatures by the Light of mutual bestowal between them and the Creator.

Question: Suppose you have brought me this knowledge about a global and integral system. I listen and understand what you say. But I am not the head of government, not the owner of a TV channel or newspaper. I am an ordinary citizen. I understood your words. If I want to start developing according to this perception, in mutual guarantee between people, in balance with nature, what should I do?

Answer: Just as I brought this knowledge to you, you have to pass it to others. Perhaps, you have writing skills, and you will write an article. And today, if you can write even a few lines, the entire Internet space is open before you.

This network can accept you, and you can influence everyone through it. You do not have to be the head of government to do this. By the way, today, all the knowledge passes from one person to the other via the Internet system. Today, the media is not really able to form public opinion; the Internet forms it.

Through our entire network of friends and supporters, we can start to advertise the idea of mutual guarantee and all this knowledge, spreading it across the Internet space with all our strength. Our problem is that we are still closed within ourselves.

Day after day, from our daily lessons and talks, we should create such a media product that it would flow like the living water to the whole world, through all our friends, all our groups, and all the people who understand that this is a vital necessity without even being with us. Otherwise, the world will not survive for a long time.

We should not rely on the government and media, on well-known, famous people: No one needs that. If thousands of ordinary people worldwide support us, they can fill the entire online network with our information via Twitter and Facebook. Not a single government will be able to do this.

We see how governments fall because some rumors were spread through the Internet across the nation. People go out in the streets and overthrow the government.

That is why our work now should be directed at the circulation of information. We have to draw as many people who agree with us as possible, to gather and publish the opinions, talks, and lectures of scientists, economists, and people known in the media, in all the languages and at any level, with different approaches. But they should talk only about one trend, the same goal, and the same program. Here you have a ready education system; now, it should be injected through the Internet into the world and widely disseminated.

Then, based on the opinion of these scientists, it is possible to address UNESCO or the UN, the governments of different countries. It is not you alone addressing them, but together with others. After all, you want to put their ideas into use and think that humanity needs to know about them. Thus, you are building a global university of integral education.

The main thing is to start. And the major problem of our organization, as I feel, is that we are withdrawn into ourselves; we are closed and do not come out, do not break through to the outside. All the media that we produce is made for ourselves. We talk only among ourselves.

But if we organized thousands of our friends and supporters, our students around the world for external dissemination among the masses, I am sure that we would have received a different response from the world.

Our task now is to prepare the material about the global and integral world and our obligation to correspond to it, and do it as soon as possible. There is no need to mention the word “Kabbalah,” but rather to rely solely on scientists’ opinions and scientific data. And we have to disseminate this everywhere.

Question: If a person passes this idea to the world, what, essentially, does he change in it?

Answer: He connects the whole world to one global and integral force which governs this world, to the force of nature. He himself realizes the program of nature, along with all those who take his example and this idea and do the same thing. Everyone who does so realizes this program.
