The World Is In Darkness

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Rodon.org): “The U.S. decision to proceed with the third round of quantitative easing threatens to renew currency war with dramatic consequences for the rest of the world. The currency market is panicking. The world financial market expects currency wars.

“The Eurozone is the weak link in the system. Social-political difficulties were added to the economic problems of the EU countries. The Greeks gave 70% of the profit, now, the rest of Europe will give; the budgets of the EU countries will suffer a similar loss.

“The U.S. economy is very sick; the private sector is sick and needs help. FRS cuts interest rates to increase the liquidity of the market, but the private sector cannot respond because it experiences problems with balance of payments.

“Money will not help Europe. The world expects a wave of unprecedented crisis. Germany will have to raise the question of a radical reform of the eurozone, which will cease to exist in its current form. Crisis trends are growing; an unprecedented crisis will break out in the foreseeable future. Moreover, the current measures merely postpone the time of its occurrence.

“The year of 2013: Goodbye Europe; 2013 will be the year of storm for the whole world, when the economic and geopolitical crises will converge at one point. After two months of calm, the crisis has returned to the global economy and it is manifested in the failure of QE3.”

My Comment: There is one solution. I have repeatedly talked about it: unity and integral education for the masses. The problem is in the egoistic connection within humanity, which is opposite of altruistic nature. The two opposite systems cause crisis when they are approaching each other. With the growth of our egoism, its increasing globality and connections, the crisis will choke us more. It could bring us to a third world war and perhaps even a fourth one until we realize the need to change our relationships from hate to good connection, up to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Isn’t it easier to start with self-education?

Hyperinflation Will Push The World To A Witch-Hunt

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Dylan Grice, SocGen strategist): “‘I am more worried than I have ever been about the clouds gathering today (which may be the most wonderful contrary indicator you could hope for…). I hope they pass without breaking, but I fear the defining feature of coming decades will be a Great Disorder of the sort which has defined past epochs and scarred whole generations.’ …

“Grice is concerned that, as history has shown, currency debasement will lead to ‘social debasement,’ or a rise in social disorder as trust breaks down on a large scale.

“And the social debasement is already easy to see in the United States, according to Grice. He writes, ‘The 99% blame the 1%, the 1% blame the 47%, the private sector blames the public sector, the public sector returns the sentiment … the young blame the old, everyone blame the rich … yet few question the ideas behind government or central banks …’

“Grice says we’ve been living through ‘what might be the largest credit inflation in financial history, a credit hyperinflation.’

“That ‘credit hyperinflation,’ however, has only served to enrich those at the top at the expense of those at the bottom.

“Grice looks at some examples from history where currency debasement led to a complete breakdown of the social fabric of communities like the Roman Empire, France during the revolutionary period at the end of the 18th century, and Weimar Germany.

“In every case, citizens turned on each other as a sharply devalued currency led to a breakdown of trust between members of society.

“A perhaps lesser-known incident that Grice brings to light, however, is a period in Britain during the late 16th and early 17th centuries when the country was rocked by witch trials.”

My Comment: Today, humanity has not changed at all. Until we correct our nature, we, enlightened humanity, are ready for guillotines and burning at the stake. It is a short time away; the states and nations, religions and competitors will start in a mad rage to destroy everyone who is not like them, cleaning the space, getting rid of pressure…

There is only a small chance for humanity to come to its mandatory intended unity peacefully, mastering integral education and upbringing. Will they be able to pay attention at this opportunity or will they obey their egoistic impulses?

“Dollar Hegemony In The Empire Of The Damned”

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Colin Todhunter, Global Research): “Many commentators and economists wonder if the US is able to turn its ailing economy around. The reality is that it is bankrupt. However, as long as the dollar remains the world currency, the US can continue to pay its bills by simply printing more money. But once the world no longer accepts the dollar as world reserve currency, the US will no longer be able to continue to pay its way or to fund its wars by relying on what would then be a relatively valueless paper currency.

“And the US realizes this. Today, more than 60 per cent of all foreign currency reserves in the world are in US dollars, and the US will attempt to prevent countries moving off the dollar by any means possible. …

“With each passing year and each new conflict, the US has been drawing closer and closer to direct confrontation with Russia and China, particularly as it enters their backyards in Asia and as China continues to emerge as a serious global power. …

“Over the past few years, China and other emerging powers such as Russia have been making agreements to move away from the US dollar in international trade. …

“Russia and China have been using their own national currencies when trading with each other for more than a year. …

“The US economy appears to be in terminal decline. The only way to prop it up is by lop-sided trade agreements or by waging war to secure additional markets and resources and to ensure the dollar remains the world reserve currency. Humankind is currently facing a number of serious problems. But, arguably, an empire in decline armed to the teeth with both conventional and nuclear weapons and trapped in a cycle of endless war in what must surely be a futile attempt to stave off ruin is the most serious issue of all.”

My Comment: There is only one way for the US and the whole world: Support and compel Israel to disseminate as soon as possible the method of building a new society. No matter how improbable and contemptuous it may seem, this is the salvation of the world from all the current risks and threats. On the contrary, the US is headed to excluding Israel from the list of the countries of the world, and this will bring them to their own ruin because precisely from Israel the dissemination of Kabbalah spreads, the study of a new humanity and the revelation of the Creator to the world. And all the current problems are calls to move the world into a new state.

200 Million Unemployed In The World

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from World Development Report): “The World Development Report 2013: As the world struggles to emerge from the global crisis, some 200 million people—including 75 million under the age of 25—are unemployed. … Some 1.65 billion are employed and receive regular wages or salaries. Another 1.5 billion work in farming and small household enterprises, or in casual or seasonal day labor. Meanwhile, 200 million people, a disproportionate share of them youth, are unemployed and actively looking for work. … 621 million young people are ‘idle’—not in school or training, not employed, and not looking for work.”

My Comment: This is very soft data. But soon the world will see hundreds of millions of unemployed. After all, as a result of the global economic crisis, humanity will abandon all “excessive” consumption, except what is “reasonably necessary.”

The Crisis Spreads To Latin America

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Economic Commission for Latin America): “The weak global economy, mainly due to the difficulties faced by Europe, United States and China, has affected growth in Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2012, the region’s growth will be slower than in previous years, according to estimates presented today by ECLAC.

“In the Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean 2012, launched in Santiago, Chile, the United Nations agency states that slowdown experienced by economies in 2011 carried over into the first half of 2012, and this has brought down the growth projection for the entire year from the 3.7% announced in June to 3.2%.

“According to the document, private consumption has been the main driver of regional growth, thanks to the growth in labour markets, increased credit and – in some cases – remittances. However, the dramatic slowdown in external demand and the downward trend in the prices of most export commodities have made foreign trade the main way in which international crises have been passed on to the region’s economies.”

My Comment: Until recently, Russia, China, Brazil and other countries gloated over the crisis of the “capitalists,” but the world is global and integral and that is why we are together in the same sinking boat, and we must be saved together. Our salvation depends on our mutual help. Indeed, thus Nature forces us to unite before it is too late because otherwise we are facing a world battle.

The World Faces A 1,000-Year Decline

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Robert J. Gordon, Stanley G. Harris Professor of the Social Sciences, Northwestern University): “This paper raises basic questions about the process of economic growth. It questions the assumption, nearly universal since Solow’s seminal contributions of the 1950s, that economic growth is a continuous process that will persist forever. There was virtually no growth before 1750, and thus there is no guarantee that growth will continue indefinitely. Rather, the paper suggests that the rapid progress made over the past 250 years could well turn out to be a unique episode in human history. The paper is only about the United States and views the future from 2007 while pretending that the financial crisis did not happen. Its point of departure is growth in per-capita real GDP in the frontier country since 1300, the U.K. until 1906 and the U.S. afterwards. Growth in this frontier gradually accelerated after 1750, reached a peak in the middle of the 20th century, and has been slowing down since. The paper is about ‘how much further could the frontier growth rate decline?’ The analysis links periods of slow and rapid growth to the timing of the three industrial revolutions (IR’s), that is, IR #1 (steam, railroads) from 1750 to 1830; IR #2 (electricity, internal combustion engine, running water, indoor toilets, communications, entertainment, chemicals, petroleum) from 1870 to 1900; and IR #3 (computers, the web, mobile phones) from 1960 to present. It provides evidence that IR #2 was more important than the others and was largely responsible for 80 years of relatively rapid productivity growth between 1890 and 1972. Once the spin-off inventions from IR #2 (airplanes, air conditioning, interstate highways) had run their course, productivity growth during 1972-96 was much slower than before. In contrast, IR #3 created only a short-lived growth revival between 1996 and 2004. Many of the original and spin-off inventions of IR #2 could happen only once – urbanization, transportation speed, the freedom of females from the drudgery of carrying tons of water per year, and the role of central heating and air conditioning in achieving a year-round constant temperature. Even if innovation were to continue into the future at the rate of the two decades before 2007, the U.S. faces six headwinds that are in the process of dragging long-term growth to half or less of the 1.9 percent annual rate experienced between 1860 and 2007. These include demography, education, inequality, globalization, energy/environment, and the overhang of consumer and government debt. A provocative ‘exercise in subtraction’ suggests that future growth in consumption per capita for the bottom 99 percent of the income distribution could fall below 0.5 percent per year for an extended period of decades.”

My Comment: Humanity must provide itself with everything necessary, but not more, and all of its resources should be directed to its re-education, creating humane interaction; this is programmed by nature, and we will have to realize this. Kabbalah explains how to do this!

IMF: World Economic Crisis To Last 10 Years

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Olivier Blanchard, IMF chief economist): “Olivier Blanchard, chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, said it will take at least ten years to recover from the meltdown caused by the banking crash of 2008.”

My Comment: But the crisis is not over yet, and who knows how it continues, what its nature and course are. The crisis will end only when we understand its cause and find the means of correcting it and address the root cause of the crisis.

For this we need to think not how to mitigate the state, but how to find the cause of the disease according to its symptoms and a remedy and to cure the disease itself, its cause. Is there anybody in the EU, or in the world, who studies this? If not, then it is not logical to talk about exiting the crisis.

The Urgent Need

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Science and art are methods for understanding reality. Science does it in a rational way and art, emotionally and intuitively.

Many criteria we have talked about stem from the emotional and the intuitive field. So does that mean that the idea of establishing an integral society is based on art?

Answer: I believe this perception is based on scientific and economic findings.

I will not speak about science since it is hard to explain to a person to what extent science is actually subjective with regard to our senses. If we were different, we would discover other sciences and other mutual actions. Nature is concealed only with regard to man. Therefore all the sciences are subjective.

Building an integral society is not some emotional philosophy or some psychological approach. It is an essential necessity because the current state of society obligates us to do so. Whatever we build in industry or economy is a result of society and therefore cannot exist without the correct change of social connections. So the need for this is obvious.

The integrality that is being revealed in the world today is a fully mutual connection that we cannot chop off. We see it in the connections in the so-called common market, although it is quite one-sided. An ordinary person cannot understand why these connections must not be broken. Expel Greece, Spain and Italy, why do you need them?! Leave only Germany, France, and a couple of other strong states that able, willing, rich, and strong; no, you can’t tear them off, you cannot disconnect from them.

The point is that the connections are so entangled (and this appears in a totally irrational manner) that these states are ready to pay billions of dollars only so that other states will not break off the common market. Why? Because it is already felt as one common integral system! In an analog system, you tear apart all the connections by tearing off a certain part. So by cutting off Greece you will suddenly feel that there are connections missing between Germany and France. This means that we actually see how mutually connected the world is today.

Today we don’t even have to fight someone; there is no need to conquer anyone. You can defeat any country by cutting off your relations with it.

Today there isn’t one state that can hold on and provide everything that it needs by itself. The world has become integral and so in an integral world we have to make the right mutual relations part of our connections.

If we only think about how to harm one another, we will not be able to survive. So when we talk about the need for the change of man as the basic factor in this system, it is an urgent practical necessity. Without it today, you will not develop industry, commerce or international commerce since it is all mutually connected.

Crisis In Advertising: $1 Billion Market

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Financial Times): “Global advertising spending is slowing in response to a eurozone crisis that has cut billions from marketing budgets in the hardest-hit countries and started to affect brands’ confidence in other regions, according to a new forecast. …

“Greece could suffer a 33 per cent drop, with Spain and Portugal each down 12-13 per cent, ZenithOptimedia predicts.”

My Comment: In the future, advertising, the “engine of commerce,” will disappear except for explanations of new products and drugs that will replace the old ones. Since humanity will reach reasonable consumption, the need to advertise will be useless, superfluous goods and services will cease to exist.

Life Teaches

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Guardian): “Knobbly carrots, wonky spuds, bent courgettes and discoloured cauliflowers will return to supermarket shelves after one of the worst growing seasons farmers have experienced in decades. …

“On Thursday, Sainsbury’s relaxed its rules on the cosmetic appearance of fresh produce and allowed fruit and vegetables that would normally be ploughed back into fields to be sold in its 1,012 stores.

“Research last year by the government’s waste reduction body, Wrap, showed that the recession has encouraged supermarkets and householders to throw out less food. According to Wrap, British families rejected nearly 7.2m tonnes of food a year – a reduction of 13% or 1.1m tonnes since 2007.”
My Comment: Thus, we gradually could come to reasonable consumption!
