Unity As The Method Of Solving The Crisis, Part 7

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (George Soros, billionaire financier, Chairman of Soros Fund Management): “A whole new world order, including a new financial order and rules, involving international cooperation, is imperative.

“The United State’s position, as a current economic and political superpower, may be threatened if a true global effort is not initiated. The alternative is terrifying because a superpower losing both political and economic governance, with military dominance, is a dangerous situation. Peace by democratic countries is no longer the chosen method. The financial crisis has undeniably taken its toll on the United States population, forcing them to face a harsh reality.

“The main culprit, by far, is the collective lack of awareness that a broken system is amongst us. Reinvention of any system requires all hands on deck. The world’s future seriously depends on global awareness and cooperation.”

My Comment: The new world order is not the same order as it appears to the leaders of global capital. They are not suitable to create it, and all their actions today are towards the destruction of the world in order to postpone its collapse for at least one day. The new world order should be created by people with an integral, not egoistic, way of thinking, which perceives the world as one family, and not as a cash cow.…

Anti-Wall Street Protest In New York

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (From BBC News): “Several hundred people took part in Saturday’s march, which was intended to draw attention to ‘corporate greed and corrupt politics’ in the US.

“Participants carried banners supporting a range of other issues, including healthcare reform, an end to US wars and the scrapping of the death penalty.

“The march came after a week of protests by the Occupy Wall Street campaign.

“Protesters, who are mostly young, initially numbered some 1,500 but their numbers had fallen to about 200 by Saturday’s march.

“There was a heavy security presence in the district, with police deploying nets to block off major roads including Fifth Avenue and to protect the New York Stock Exchange.

“Police said most of Saturday’s arrests were for disorderly conduct and blocking traffic, but one person was charged with assaulting a police officer. One officer also suffered a shoulder injury, said police.

“They have not commented on protest organisers’ comments that there had been an ‘unprecedented level of police aggression’ on display.

“‘Our nation, our species and our world are in crisis. The US has an important role to play in the solution, but we can no longer afford to let corporate greed and corrupt politics set the policies if [0f] our nation.’

“Inspired by urban occupations in cities including Madrid, Cairo and Tunisia, they have said they will camp out in Zuccotti Park, a private park near the financial district, until their demands are met.”

My Comment: This is still neither the feeling of crisis nor an anti-crisis protest, like in Israel, but merely students’ freedom games. But when the feeling of cold, hunger, and darkness will overwhelm people, then true unrest will begin. We can prevent all this if we try. People should learn about the higher plan of nature, evolution: to bring the entire humanity to the society of mutual guarantee, unity between themselves and nature, like in a single organism. All our efforts should be aimed at the execution of this plan.

Has Western Capitalism Failed? Part 1

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Angel Gurria, Secretary General, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)): “[Has Western capitalism failed?] My answer to this question would be no. But I also wonder whether capitalism should be answering to the prosecution.

“We failed as regulators, we failed as supervisors, we failed as corporate governance managers, we failed as risk managers, and we also failed in the allocation of roles and responsibilities for international economic organisations.

“Some international organisations saw the crisis coming. Some even managed to put out some warnings, but they did not co-ordinate their assessments, they did not speak with one strong voice.

“Thus, they were ignored in an atmosphere of great prosperity where everybody was making a lot of money and everybody thought that innovation was the name of the game – and by warning that something could go wrong, you would look like you were holding progress back.

“There was also the philosophy that markets needed to function with the least possible government intervention. But that did not mean that they could work without any intervention at all, nor did it necessarily mean that the intervention could be such a light touch that you were not able to identify risks.

“So the crisis left a dire legacy. A legacy of high unemployment, enormous fiscal deficits which we are still struggling to control, and an accumulated public debt which has already reached 100% of GDP on average in the OECD countries.

“It is very important to send clear signals of how we are going to address this debt problem without sacrificing growth and employment.

“Reforms to product and labour markets, education, innovation, green growth, competition, taxes, health – they are the things that should be the object of our primary focus in the context of a long-term strategy to restore sustained growth.

“This will create jobs and help to tackle debt.

“We also need to ‘go social’ and focus on innovative policies to protect the most vulnerable.”

My Comment: We see how a lack of understanding of social evolution, its next stage of development—a gradual unification in one global community—blinds a person, and he continues to “look into himself,” to see the previous picture of the world.

World Bank Chief: Wait For The Crisis!

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (From The Vancouver Sun): “World Bank president Robert Zoellick warned that the global economy was heading into a new ‘danger zone’….

“’The financial crisis in Europe has become a sovereign debt crisis, with serious implications for the monetary union, banks, and competitiveness of some countries’….

“’The United States must address the issues of debt, spending, tax reform to boost private sector growth and a stalled trade policy,’ he added, warning starkly: ‘The world economy is entering a new danger zone this autumn.’

“The World Bank chief also urged Beijing to accelerate its structural reforms as it seeks to develop from an export-driven economy towards a growth model more reliant on domestic consumption.”

My Comment: All of it is the manifestation of disparity between society, industry, commerce, and interrelationships and the network of global integral interconnections and interdependencies that are being revealed in our world today. The solution to the crisis is to create similar connections between us in society, industry, commerce, and relationships.

This means to reach mutual guarantee, mutual understanding, and cooperation and operate like parts of a single mechanism. Otherwise, nature will force us to such interaction by severe pressure.

European Policymakers, Change Economy!

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Vladimir Potanin, the owner of a 30-percent stake in Norilsk Nickel, the world’s largest nickel and palladium producer): “European leaders grappling with the euro zone debt crisis have an unsolvable problem that will lead to economic decline and a loss of manufacturing power to rivals…

“‘If I was a politician in Europe, I would commit suicide…. There is really such a big difference between the interests of different countries, I simply do not understand how you can match the interests of Germany and Greece.’…

“But he said the European Union had expanded too fast and had no mechanism to balance the interests of different members in the euro zone.

“‘The euro zone has two very bad options,’ he said at the Reuters Russia Investment Summit held at the Reuters office in Moscow.

“‘Either exclude a country from this zone, which would be awful politically as far as I understand, or stay where they are and cut expenditure. But not everyone is ready to cut expenditure.’

“Potanin said the global shift of manufacturing to emerging markets was draining the wealth of many European countries which had sought to support artificially high living standards with borrowing.

“‘In business it is much clearer: You have a unit that doesn’t perform, you give the management of the unit time to change,’ he said.

“‘But what happens if the unit does not begin to perform? You close it. But you cannot simply close a country like Greece.'”

My Comment: The crisis will swallow everyone! Get ready for the fact that your industrial capacity will be needed only in as much as it sustains a reasonable lifestyle. Forget about production growth! Business magnates are just playing a numbers game with production figures to see how they measure up.

The economy of the future is aimed only at providing reasonable human needs, and the crisis will bring authorities and managers of industries and commerce (by awareness or suffering) to the understanding of this condition of nature and the need to work only for this purpose.

Unity As The Method Of Solving The Crisis, Part 5

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Former U.K. Prime Minister James Gordon Brown): “‘There will be no climate-change agreement either, even though nuclear worries are escalating and the case for low-carbon investment becomes more obvious by the day. Nor will there be sufficient global support for the unemployed of the Middle East, North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa (who together constitute 30 percent of the world’s young), with all the problems of immigration and insecurity that such neglect will unleash. Global growth will be far lower than it otherwise needs to be, unless the world begins to understand that there is no solution to financial instability, diminished trade, and mass unemployment without a global deal for jobs and justice.

“This is a challenge that the G20 summit can and should take upon itself to carry out.”

My Comment: It is possible only through the mass media’s wide, massive influence on the masses and the process of consecutive education in the spirit of “mutual guarantee.” Meanwhile, the G20 is deaf to actions of this kind, and we can’t blame them for that; this is who they are.

IMF: Global Economy Needs Collective Action Now

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (From BBC News): “IMF chief Christine Lagarde has called for countries to ‘act now and act together’ to keep on the path to economic recovery.

“‘We are by no means strangers, and we are linked by a common destiny,’ she said at the annual meeting of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington. ‘And these turbulent times must bind us ever closer together.’

“Ms Lagarde said: ‘There is a path to recovery. It’s narrower than it was three years ago but there is a path and we have options.’

“‘…Let’s remove the clouds and remove the uncertainty. Easier said than done, and it requires clearly a collective action.

“‘We are all in it together and nobody should be under any illusion that there could be a de-coupling.’

“Thursday’s market falls had sparked the G20 to announce a commitment ‘to take all necessary actions to preserve the stability of banking systems and financial markets as required.’

“Analysts said investors were unimpressed by the announcement. ‘The statement from the G20 last night may have taken the edge off the current bitter market sentiment, but the reassurances from the finance ministers lack substance,’ said Jane Foley at Rabobank.

“‘Markets work on a second-by-second basis, while politicians seem to be working to a monthly calendar,’ Jeremy Stretch from CIBC told the BBC.”

My Comment: But they still need to understand that the crisis is in our heads, in our approach to the world and society, and not in society or the world themselves—the crisis is in us. They have to reach a point when they will take note of our suggestions, and not only that, but will realize that what we propose is the only way to salvation, which is namely in self-correction, and not the correction of nature or someone else.

Humanity has to understand that the time of changing nature to fit our needs has ended (when we followed the principal of “Let’s not wait for mercy from nature, let’s take from it what we need.”). Now it is our turn to adapt ourselves to it!

People who ask themselves about the meaning of life and want to know the answer completely and precisely find Kabbalah. Similarly, economists and others will find us, although having gone through suffering and wasted time.

There Is Only One Way: Towards A Society Of Spiritual Growth

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: You are for equal income, for everyone receiving a relatively equal portion as everyone else. This takes away people’s stimulus to work and develop because individual egoism is still the basis of our nature. And only once we are (if we will be) corrected, we will probably be able to only strive for equality naturally.

So is it not better to let people be unequal in their aspirations towards wealth and inequality so they would pride themselves in their advantage over others, but once they receive fairly earned wealth according to the invested labor and abilities, have them give everything beyond necessary to the others and receive spiritual reward from Above and gratitude from the society?

Answer: This is basically what we are proposing. The transition from egoistic individualism towards collectivism, where we operate like cells in the body, must be gradual, but at the end, society must work and receive what they need for their existence, while everything on top of this is “earned” on the spiritual level.

In other words, you are saying that it is still necessary to keep developing industries and all the “unnecessary” capitalistic structures. And we say that from the beginning, there is no place for them in our world, that in this way we are destroying our planet, exhausting its resources, and contaminating it with “unnecessary” production in order to turn “unnecessary” goods and products into money and then start giving it out to the poor.

This does not destroy poverty and social pressure, does not obligate teaching everyone toward a global connection as nature (crisis) demands today.

The solution from the developing crisis is simple: Nature only leaves us with one option: to give up the society of excessive consumption and gradually and consciously form a society of reasonable consumption and spiritual growth.

All the working and the unemployed must study the new structure of the world (nature), its single, global, and analog system, similar to the one of a living body, and build their relations according to this model. This is what we all must do besides procuring whatever is needed for existence. Mass media, art, and education must find their place in this so the surrounding environment will be created in this way to influence us and shape us toward similarity to nature.

The European Union Has No Future In Its Present State

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Michael Khazin, an economist, from km.ru):The most interesting observation seems to have been presented by Jacek Rostowski, the financial minister of Poland: ‘European elites, including German elites, must decide if they want the euro to survive – even at a high price – or not. If not, we should prepare for a controlled dismantling of the currency zone.’ He added: ‘We have a simple choice: Solidarity or the collapse of Europe. The choice is simple: Either solidarity or the collapse of the Euro bloc.’

“Either Germany (and only it!) takes personal responsibility upon itself to pay all the debts of all the countries in the European Union and maintains a standard of living in all the Union countries, or the system will begin to disintegrate.

“The attempt to annex Eastern Germany indicates that there aren’t enough resources in order to raise all of them to Germany’s level. That means the standard of living in Germany should be lowered in order to raise the standard of living in the periphery. How can such a decision be ‘sold’ to the German citizens who will have to vote for it?

“Clearly, stories about ‘European values’ don’t suit here: Most likely, fascism will resurrect on the background of the lowered standard of living, and it will replace the tolerance and multiculturalism. Germany’s interest to expand the European Union protected the market. The internal laws of the European Union greatly limited the markets in the union and closed them to foreign import. The primary internal supplier was Germany.

“Under the present conditions, it is impossible to yield a decision regarding the unity of the Euro bloc, for both political inner-German(…) and financial reasons. Germany simply doesn’t have enough money to implement this plan. That means that the European Union will have to step down from the political scene.”

My Comment: The EU has a way out, which might seem unrealistic: To continue business as usual, as is, but for the European Union’s survival, to add, on all levels, the movement for inner unity, mutual guarantee, participation, and closeness and to resemble the global and integral conditions of nature.

Indeed, in any case we are obligated, in accordance with the evolutionary plan, to acquire that form, so let’s do it consciously, out of our own will, without resisting the pressure, but rather from the realization that it is the next stage of our development. And if we internalize that, we will attain something much more perfect in an easy and hastened manner, rather than under pressure, through misery.

Every country in the world faces this challenge, yet Europe is particularly relevant since all the suitable economic and social conditions already exist in the European Union. Particularly the inner bond among people, canceling the boundaries between each and every citizen of the European Union will lead Europe to full bloom. Otherwise, it will collapse, dragging the whole world after it. The decisive point is not concerning the question of “should the EU be disassembled,” but rather “will there be peace or war.”

The National Intelligence Council’s Report

Dr. Michael LaitmanReport (Global Trends 2025: The National Intelligence Council’s 2025 project): “The international system will be challenged by growing resource constraints at the same time that it is coping with the impact of new players.

“Continued escalation of energy demand will hasten the impacts of climate change.

“Over the next 20 years, worries about climate change effects may be more significant than any physical changes linked to climate change.

“The rising energy demands of growing populations and economies may bring into question the availability, reliability, and affordability of energy supplies.

“Terrorism is unlikely to disappear by 2025, but its appeal could lessen if economic growth continues and youth unemployment is mitigated in the Middle East.

“Current trends suggest that global governance in 2025 will be a patchwork of overlapping, often ad hoc and fragmented efforts, with shifting coalitions of member nations, international organizations, social movements, NGOs, philanthropic foundations, and companies.

“The need for effective global governance will increase faster than existing mechanisms can respond.”

My Comment: Unfortunately, from the point of view and perspective of Kabbalah, the report presents an outdated view on the old world, and by no means a new perspective on the world of the future. And yet it talks about 2025 and beyond! Analysts have to first analyze themselves, their approach, and its correspondence to reality and then search for a genuine solution, rather than just an obvious solution for their report.
