How can I find out what to ask the Creator? I look at others and write down in my notebook all the faults that I see in my friends and then demand that the Creator correct those qualities in me, which are the reason that I see everything upside down.
We need to do such an exercise in the ten. Everyone writes a list and addresses each position with a prayer, even several times, praying for every fault that he sees in his friends. I ask the Creator to correct me so that I will see perfection instead of flaws.
It must be a very specific prayer for every flaw that I see in each friend in order to invert my eyesight and admire the greatness of my friends. I exalt the friends and the Creator who made a correction in me, allowing me to see the ten as perfect.
What is left for me to do after I see everyone as perfect? I must now try to penetrate even more into my friends, cling onto them, annul myself before them, immerse in them, and then I will receive all of their properties as the upper nine Sefirot in relation to my Malchut, my desire to receive. I will be ready to support and help them in every way possible, and I will thus come closer to building a spiritual Partzuf.1
To stop seeing flaws in my friend is the very first correction that I start with if I want to progress. After all, this is of greatest concern to me right now. A flaw is all that interferes with our union and disallows my seeing the greatness of the friend. The friend’s greatness is that he is connected with all the other friends and with the Creator, and therefore, I want to be in connection with him.
If I correct my view so as not to see faults in my friends, I will stick to all nine of them, I will be ready to support them, that is, to work like Malchut in relation to the upper nine Sefirot. I will pray for them, do everything to serve them. I will feel that until I fulfill them, they will be unable to perform a spiritual action. Therefore, I turn to the Creator and ask for help. The ten now becomes even more important for me than the Creator and, of course, more important than myself.
All I ask is to let me fulfill them for their benefit. I ask the Creator: “Tell me, what can I do to make them appear perfect before You?” This means that I annul myself and raise my friends to the level of the Creator. This is already a spiritual state.
I see that the friends in the ten understand each other and support each other. But I seem to be standing on the sidelines and do not even understand what they are talking about, I feel no taste in the connection that attracts them so much, in mutual help. I am amazed at how they manage to feel so close to each other, a connection I am incapable of. Therefore, I ask the Creator for help, realizing that I myself will never achieve this. I see that the friends have spiritual powers because they can relate to each other in such a way. These are clearly not forces of this world, but spiritual forces that they have received from the study, the lessons, and dissemination.
But I have not received such strength, so what should I do? I do not want to lag behind. First of all, I hold back my friends, becoming a burden for the ten. I thus pray to the Creator to give me the strength to be included in my friends, annul myself before them, bow down, and turn into dust under their feet.
At first, before I started working on my correction, my friends seemed insignificant and idiotic to me. I automatically criticized everyone or at least was indifferent to them. I did not feel that everyone stood inside my heart as a special spiritual image, a Sefira.
Gradually, my view of the spiritual world begins to run through my friends. When we speak of spirituality, I no longer think of the Creator but of them. Friends stand before me like nine deities, idols. I do not know how to work with them yet, but I already see that spirituality is achieved through them, by how together with my friends, I build my spiritual picture. They currently obscure spirituality from me, but they are on the way there, pointing me in the right direction. And this is already progress.2

Crying to the Creator is only possible from the state called “the desert.” The desert is an absence of the Creator between us, no feeling of connection with Him. He disappeared, left us, and all we can do is cry, as it is said: “the voice of the one crying in the wilderness.”1
The Creator cares for us to keep revealing new desires to enjoy from our broken desires, and for us to feel ourselves more removed from the goal with each passing day. This is because the desire opposite to our correction keeps rising every day. We have to overcome this egoism when we find ourselves more and more removed from the goal, losing strength and understanding, falling into despair.
All this advancement goes against our common sense. How is it possible that the more we advance the further away we find ourselves? But all of this works in accordance with the structure of the spiritual Partzuf: the greater the egoistic desire, the more removed from the goal we feel. But the more we overcome egoism and rise above it with the intention to bestow, the closer we are to the goal. Two opposites in one.
Thus, one does not understand what is happening and falls under the power of one’s mood. This is hard work that pulls us in two different directions. But we must persevere, each time strengthening our resolve with our eyes closed, diving into the group, and advancing this way. Every time I find myself removed from spirituality, meaning distanced from the group, I must get closer to it, which means to get closer to the Creator. This is the only way to conquer our evil inclination that is rising day by day. The way I conquer it is not by using my own strength but by turning to the Creator.
The first problem is that the evil keeps becoming greater each time. The second is that I cannot directly fight this growing egoism with my own strength, I must turn to the Creator, whom I do not see, for help. To turn to the Creator is only possible through the group; thus, we must constantly raise the importance of the friends, the group, and continue integrating in them more and more.
There are several important milestones along the way that will indirectly manifest in us on their own, we need to scrutinize, strengthen our resolve, and rise above our mind and feelings. Of utmost importance here is not to give up in this war, not to retreat or despair.2
The cry to the Creator has to be a common cry. That is the difference between religion and the science of Kabbalah. Within a religious framework everyone can cry to the Creator and believe that it will help. And it does, psychologically. But if one truly wants to turn to the Creator, such an approach is only possible through the right system, through a Kli, through love of others, by creating the common soul of Adam HaRishon.
We will be pushed further away from the ten every time. We will have the feelings of neglect toward the friends, our own weakness, hopelessness, and, in general, the meaninglessness of this work. Yesterday for several minutes it was possible to connect to my friends and the Creator, to tie myself together with the group and with the Creator. While today it all seems unreal and meaningless to me.
But if I truly want to reveal the Creator and the purpose of creation, if I anchor myself to the truth, then the truth is above my nature, faith is above knowledge, meaning bestowal above reception. Thus, it is only possible to reach it through exercises like the constant hardening of the heart that manifests itself in the inability to connect in the ten, to build the spiritual Partzuf into the ten Sefirot, the soul.
I am constantly pushed back so that I can make another difficult step forward toward unity. This is how I advance toward the truth. And if today I don’t feel that it is more difficult to connect with the group, then I am not advancing toward the goal. Therefore, it is said: “The opinion of the Torah differs from that of the people.”
People cannot advance in the system when each step becomes harder and harder. This goes against logic and common sense. How can it be that I move forward and it becomes harder and harder for me day by day, the connection becomes more unbearable, as if I am being punished for this work? How can this be advancement?
But this indeed is so, and “the opinion of the Torah,” meaning advancement with the help of the light that reforms, is “opposite to the opinion of people.” People receive new understanding, feelings, and assurances. Here we see a reverse process. A Kabbalist must lower himself to the level of “Shimon from the market” in order to rise to the height of the end of correction.3
We must cherish each friend, but without invading his personality or thoughts, without scrutinizing what is happening to him. We must reassure each person, creating a group atmosphere of concern for all, not anyone individually, but for the whole ten. Mutual guarantee is a field we create with ten Kelim, ten friends.
No one has anything individually! But this is what makes us strong because we want the common strength to be built from nothing. This strength cannot be granted to us, not even by the Creator; only together can we create this power of mutual guarantee. This is what we have to ask for and demand. Let the upper light help us by giving us the strength of support in the group.
The power of support is called mutual guarantee. This is how we assure the group and all of its members that we will not escape, but that we will always be in mutual care because this is what everyone builds their hopes on for the future. This is what the spiritual Partzuf of ten Sefirot will be built on, the soul.
This is why we have been given a state of despair, where we have nothing, so that we can start building our connection from it, our safety belt, the mutual guarantee. It belongs to us because the upper light will come according to our efforts, dressed in them, giving us the power of the mutual guarantee and uniting us in a ten. Then it will be a ten, and we will begin building our Partzuf, the soul.4
Each of us is responsible for the whole Kli of Adam HaRishon. This is the law of working in the perfect system, in spirituality: until the tiniest element, the very last desire is corrected, the whole Kli is uncorrected. This is what is meant by there is no “partial” work in spirituality. We must remember that.5

In the end, we need to understand what our desire to receive is, what it wants from us, and how to relate to it: to fight it or to use it as help against itself? Do we have any hope of resisting it?
If we want to reach such a connection like a blazing fire, then the fire ignites precisely because of the resistance of the egoistic desire faithfully doing its job. It was created precisely for this, to resist us. The ego’s action stops us. Even if we reach Arvut (mutual guarantee) between us, it is only to decide that we have no chance of leaving Egypt. No matter how much we try to unite, we are incapable of doing so and must despair of this work.
Each of us understands that we can succeed only with the help of the friend, and that is all. And with this common prayer, we draw the upper light and rise above our egoism. This is called the exodus from Egypt. There are several conditions, a few milestones along the way through which we must go.1
The spiritual Partzuf is built from the fact that we all support each other in order to reach the Creator. No one can come to the Creator with their own qualities, and even more so with Malchut, because the Creator is whole; therefore, we also need to build wholeness.
Do we have anything in common? The commonality is only the Creator, the common point of Keter. Each of us has our own qualities and we unite only above, in the Creator. Therefore, when we want to unite among ourselves, we despair of what is called “the sons of Israel sighed because of the work,” realizing that they cannot do this. We can connect only thanks to the common goal.
The connection should be like a blazing fire. But the main thing in the work is the disappointment, that is, the realization that it is impossible to connect. We strive to connect at any cost, but the correct result of the work is the realization that connection is impossible by any means. And then, the sons of Israel sighed from work. It is a completely hopeless case if we want to achieve this ourselves, but if we turn to the Creator, then we achieve everything.
The blazing fire is our common desire to bring contentment to the Creator. By the fact that we want to please each other, we give pleasure to the Creator. The Creator is the general law. If we want to turn to Him, we must first turn to the friends in the same way.2

By investing in preparation for the convention, a person invests in his or her soul. It is unfortunate that not everyone understands this.
When a person comes to study the science of Kabbalah, one still does not understand where one has arrived. It seems that this is just some kind of a course where one will gain new knowledge and understanding—one will learn and then leave. A person fails to realize that the science of Kabbalah is unlike all other sciences that leave us in the same world where we live with our relatives in a familiar reality. We do not realize that we enter the door that opens to a new reality. And we receive there not after death, but during this life by expanding our perception, and as a result, start to feel reality at a different level.
This is not a simple extension of impressions like the difference between the perception of a dog and a person where a person understands what is happening to a dog and a dog cannot understand the intentions of a person. Here, we talk about a totally different reality, that is, all the forces acting upon us on a spiritual level are revealed to a person. The common force is called the Creator, and we will learn how to connect with Him and establish mutual relations: He bestows to me and I bestow to Him.
This perception does not change with the death of the body. The bodily state has no effect on the spiritual state of a person because one reaches the perception of the true reality.
A person who has come to study knows nothing about this, and even if this is explained to him, he will still not understand since this goes beyond one’s perception and sensation. Now we have been given the opportunity to move on to the perception of a new, spiritual reality: to feel the force with which we must work and establish mutual connection.
And all this depends on how we now increase our common strength together. It is not a matter of everyone’s individual strength. Specifically when a person breaks free from internal isolation and wants to exit oneself to one’s friends, to one’s group, to the world, a person gradually acquires a new perception and feels that outside of oneself there is a force, the Creator, who fills everything. To do this, one needs the help of one’s group, one’s friends, because a person is not able to exit oneself alone and needs external power.
Therefore, a person forces himself to be in a group, to connect with his friends and follow the majority even against his desire because it is clear that from birth, he has had no desire for bestowal and unity. If one manages to do this with help from above, then the person will continue. But many cannot endure and quit. This work requires a lot of patience and, most importantly, not to leave.
There is no other way to get to the truth; otherwise, you will end your life without becoming a person (Adam). The choice is yours. The Creator pushes everyone, but only to a certain border beyond which pressure is no longer possible. Otherwise, you will not be a human being but an angel, that is, a spiritual animal.
Therefore, you need to put yourself in a clear, iron-clad framework and not allow yourself to escape it. In this way, we provide the Creator with an opportunity to work on us. Part of the work is entrusted to us, and the other part will be performed by the Creator. But the Creator works only under the condition that we have completed our part; that is, we have attended the lessons and participated in them to the extent that we could and even beyond, until we have filled up the measure of the effort that was assigned to us.
Our time is special because everyone is looking for a way out of a corporeal and spiritual crisis. A man or woman in the modern world, with all their intellect, achievements in science and high technology, is entangled in worthless games and vile addictions. The Creator pushes us to spiritual development and that is why He disallows our successful development in the corporeal world. As a result of our development, each time we find ourselves in a deeper crisis in order to finally understand that only our egoism is the main enemy that disturbs our life. If we do not correct it, we will never live a happy life. Each temporary improvement will be inevitably followed by a fall, a war, or a catastrophe.
Therefore, the whole world must understand where we are, where we must go, and how we can advance toward this goal designated by nature. What does nature, the Creator, the upper force want from us?
Our group Bnei Baruch has clarified the final steps before entering Lishma (bestowal) and is right on the threshold of spirituality. Of course, it is not easy to take this last step in Lo Lishma and the first step in Lishma—this is the Machsom, the border of the upper world. But we are approaching it and starting to feel the transition from the state of receiving to bestowal, that is, from the power of the egoistic force to the desire to be under the influence of the force of bestowal.
The egoistic force does not disappear; rather, it is balanced by the altruistic force added to it. Then we will work with two forces of nature: the negative and the positive, the egoistic force of the created being and the altruistic force of the Creator, which clothes in us.
And all this work is possible only through the environment. That is why Adam HaRishon, the system of creation created by the Creator from the desire to enjoy, is shattered. And we want to be people, that is, children of Adam, and restore this system, reconnect it. We connect it with the help of the Creator who shattered this system and is ready to fix it at our request. And due to this work, we become similar to the Creator and merge with Him.
This is our state before the convention, which poses a unique, inspirational task in front of us: to enter the spiritual world, the first sensation of the upper reality that is beyond our current thoughts and desires. This is a very exciting anticipation, a heavenly aspiration out of this world, because we are entering the true state that exists in nature. And today, we are in the preparation stage, which is created artificially and actually does not exist in nature. This world is needed only in order to reach correction in it.
We gather in the convention to celebrate our entrance into spirituality, which is in front of us. Therefore, we need even greater unity and mutual guarantee for each other. Without the friends, none of us can do anything; every advancement takes place only due to connection and unity.1
