A person should use his innate capacities given to him by nature to their fullest potential for the benefit of others. But then, from where will one draw his satisfaction? It will come from using themselves to the utmost to serve others.

After all, when I make a profit, I receive a personal gain. I engage my ego to serve myself, selfishly using the qualities and abilities that the Creator gave me, although He could have given them to someone else. So, it turns out that people with means or with advanced capabilities, which the Creator has given them, are causing more damage when using their capacity for personal gain. However, this fact must manifest full force in order for everyone to understand what is going on.

This will be revealed in a state where we’ll see that the integral system must be engaged full force, and all are equal in it. Whatever qualities may have been given to me, I see myself as part of the common mechanism, the part that must diligently do its job to the utmost.

In this way, I am not different from anyone else. If both of us are doing what we are supposed to do, then, in spirituality, we are absolutely equal. There are no differences between us. We were simply born different. Hence, we have a different impact, but its efficiency quotient is the same.

This refers to the effort that each of us is capable of inputting, rather than to the qualitative indicators of the output. We evaluate a person not by the results that appear to our eyes, but only by his specific efforts.

This does not mean forcing people, as was done in Soviet Russia where the government took away businesses from the talented individuals who owned them, and thus destroyed the country. If you kill or exile such people, who will manage the industry and the economy?

So, we definitely must protect the tycoons and provide opportunities for them to open as many businesses as possible. They are the ones who can do it.

We have already seen what happens under socialism. Here is the egoistic desire at work, and it should be handled as sensibly as possible, until a person unilaterally decides that it’s time to become corrected. One way or the other, everything should be grounded on desire.

However, what if people take to the streets and begin making specific demands? The most important key here is to educate the people. Obviously, we have to put the fire out.

Some people actually live in poverty and do need help, but only when the level of our education begins to rise shall we see how things will begin to get better. After all, we ourselves begin to understand that one must give up something for the sake of others.

This won’t be an ideology or an opinion, but a feeling that will permeate us all. Then, we will feel like a nation.

Besides, we will receive the assistance of the upper Light. By the law of equivalence of form, our system will become the garment for the upper Light and we will see enormous fruits of our unification, similar to the fruits seen by the scouts who were the first to make their way into the land of Israel after 40 years of wandering in the desert. We will suddenly discover the energy and the potential that is contained in everything that we are dealing with.

All of this can be achieved only through education. That’s why we need a round table where we discuss issues together and raise the level of interaction and mutual interest among the people. That is all we need. The government, in the wake of our discussion, will take on executive functions.

The round table will be a nationwide debate conducted together with experts who have a critical approach and analysis, but based on common agreement such as in a close-knit family. Then we will succeed. Otherwise, we will fail.

Our broken souls are in the worlds of BYA (Beria, Yetzira, Assiya), and when we unite, we will ascend into the world of Atzilut, which means “at his house” (Etzlo). If we ascend there “from below upwards,” with our own forces, then we attain our final correction. In this way, we correct the breaking that took place in the world of Nekudim.

However, if we are unable to connect into one soul, then we are in another realm, as the Creator, Zeir Anpin of the world of Atzilut said, “I cannot be in one place with an arrogant man.” We are the “arrogant man” and are beneath the boundary of the world of Atzilut (Parsa), in the worlds of BYA which are “separated from holiness.”

But the worlds of BYA are also a spiritual level where a person feels separated and distant from the Creator. He has some understanding, knowledge, and sensation of his uncorrected, spiritual state. On the other hand, when a person just starts out on this path, he is even lower, not to mention those who simply live a regular life in this world and have not even started moving toward bestowal, meaning those who are in no way connected with the spiritual ladder yet.

Yet, to the extent we are able to attract the Light that reforms with our mutual work, it will enable us to connect with Malchut of the world of Atzilut, from below upwards. And if we make efforts in order to belong to Malchut, by that we bring her separate organs back and glue them back together.

Malchut of the world of Atzilut is just a point, while all the souls are below the Parsa. And if we ask and desire to belong to bestowal, to unity, to mutual guarantee and love for the neighbor, then we draw the Light of correction upon us and rise to Malchut of the world of Atzilut—the assembly of all the souls.

From there we begin to work to become similar to Zeir Anpin of the world of Atzilut, the Creator. And the unity of Zeir Anpin and Malchut raises us even higher, to the state of the final correction.

Equality is when every one of us has equal opportunities, meaning the conventional, individual opportunity to express ourselves properly in the collective, integrated system, the opportunity to receive and bestow, and to be balanced with the others.

It’s the same as how the heart is equal to the liver, the kidneys, the legs, the arms, and all the other organs. But in what way are they equal? They are equal in that they interact with each other properly. Each one of them does its individual work for the common good, which enables the body to live.

As an analogy, it is not my fault that I was born to have the role of the kidneys, for example, and you were born to be the heart, while someone else – the lungs. In this regard, each one of us is unchangeable. But if we work together harmoniously, then each of us is equal to everyone else and no one is greater than any other. We live our innate potential, which we did not choose.

We were all born into different families and with different inclinations. We have different backgrounds and education levels. We perceive the world differently and relate to things differently. Each of us experiences things in his own way. But if each of us realizes himself in harmony with the others, then this will be equality.

A person cannot exist separately from society. We are deliberately built in a way that obligates us to live among other people. This follows from the breaking of the common soul into many particular souls.

In order to reveal the Creator, we have to reveal the broken connection between us and correct it. Then, by attaining His actions, we will attain His perfection. This is why we are built so not one of us is able to live in total isolation. Otherwise he would slide down to the level of an animal. If a person has developed to the human level, then he has to live like a person, meaning use everyone else and also contribute his part to everyone.

The development of humanity should be viewed as the development of connections between us and of our dependence on one another. First only families existed. Then large familial communities began to develop, followed by tribes, then villages, cities, and nations. A few hundred years ago, active international trade began between many countries.

This is exactly why developed nations traveled to conquer other countries and to discover new lands, feeling that they lack connections. The egoistic desire always pushes us toward interconnection and exchange.

That is how we developed the economy, which is a reflection of our inner aspiration to be connected with one another. This is why the entire economy is built upon our egoism, on the will to enjoy that feels that it must win and profit at the expense of everyone else: I give to you, you give to me, and so on. One person was a farmer, another – a craftsman, and by uniting, everyone gained great profit.

It’s clear that it is impossible to stop the evolutionary development and to produce everything by yourself, maintaining a natural household, the way people once did in ancient times. That is how we built all the forms of connections between us. They all agree with our egoistic character, which developed over many millennia and generations until in our time, we suddenly revealed that this connection is no longer as simple as we thought when we looked at things from our ego! Today a different connection is being revealed – one that’s mutual and universal. That is how it is being revealed from nature’s end.

We built the connection in whatever way we wanted to, the way it seemed best for us for establishing profitable connections with one another. We built it by our free desire, following the demands of our egoism. This is what gave rise to politics, society, economy, family, education, and all of the vital systems.

But suddenly, some kind of new connection is being revealed, which is different and contradicts everything I have done until now! That is why a problem emerges and a crisis is breaking out.

In order to reach balance with nature’s integrality, we have to start treating each other differently in all areas of our activity. Even if the change is slight, even if it’s 1%, yet if it happens all over the world, it will bring about radical, enormous changes for the better.

In general, we underestimate small things. For example, over the last 50 years the world’s temperature increased by 0.1%, and look at what kind of changes this caused: the glaciers in Alaska and other places are melting, the ocean level has risen by several centimeters, and the climate is changing. And all this was caused by a mere change of 0.1% because it is happening in the whole world.

In the same way, the tiny change in every individual will be multiplied by seven billion souls which are absolutely interconnected with each other, a circumstance that was not present before. There is already universal closeness among us in some regard, and therefore this tiny movement will cause tremendous changes, transforming the world in an extraordinary way.

The current processes are happening on a very large scale. Therefore, this small change will bring about many consequences in our lives. Under conditions of mutual influence, every person influences everyone because we are all connected within a single net with our thoughts, desires, plans, and so on. Scientists are already talking about this as well. As a result, our thoughts and desires are coming closer and becoming inter-included in one another.

This is creating a completely different territory and platform for humanity’s existence. Through that, we, people, multiply our changes due to every person’s influence on everyone. A small change in each person is multiplied by seven billion, while seven interconnected billion people influence every individual that much stronger. A special progression gets created, like a snowball that keeps getting bigger. It’s as if you activate an engine whose rotation increases by virtue of multiplication, by virtue of our interconnection.

People are at the highest level of nature. The force of thought and desire that is inherent to us exceeds all other factors. The most concealed force is always the greatest. The force of the human level lies above the forces of the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature. Therefore, with our changes, we influence everything that surrounds us. And the results are not confined to the human society. By changing, we bring all of the forces in the world into balance.

Then the weather will normalize, all sorts of natural occurrences will calm down, and problems like the energy deficit and the dwindling natural resources will be resolved. In every area where we experience trouble today, we will experience changes and will attain success because we thereby create balance in the whole natural system, which constitutes one whole.

Therefore, we don’t just want to make our lives a little bit easier. If you observe the law of nature on your level, then, being a person, a creature that rises above all the other levels of nature, you exert an influence on them. As Baal HaSulam writes, all of nature rises and descends together with man. It does not have the freedom of choice to advance toward balance. Only man, who evoked the imbalance, is able to bring it to balance, to unity. All of nature adjusts to man from below, being a system that merely accompanies our human system.

In the summer of 1940, Baal HaSulam published the newspaper “The Nation” in the last attempt to arrive at any practical actions before the Holocaust and in the face of the problems that enveloped the mandated Palestine of those times. He wanted to somehow push the nation closer to unity and did everything he could to accomplish this. However, as soon as the issue was published, his enemies immediately rose up and reported the newspaper to the British authorities, which closed down the newspaper on account of an accusation of socialist agitation.

Today we also don’t have any other solution besides realizing the path offered by Baal HaSulam – the path to unity. The situation that has arisen in Israel and the world is no less threatening than the situation in his time. But the conditions now are different, incomparably more favorable.

We have to take responsibility upon ourselves and realize it. And we are capable of it. We have the preparatory base for this, the opportunities, and the necessary inner and outer conditions. Everything is being built up only in order for us to organize ourselves correctly, and when we do, success is sure to come our way very soon.

Let’s become imbued by the spirit that Baal HaSulam wanted to transmit and that we, his followers, have to bring to life today.

We have many groups all over the world. And in this regard it is important for us to understand that all those who are personally connected to the world’s correction, who have received a point in the heart, are called “Israel.” They are the ones who are leading the world forward while living and acting in their respective countries. It’s similar to how the central group in Israel is helping the entire Jewish nation understand and realize the need for mutual guarantee. Every group in any country is in the same situation.

The countries of the world are like organs of the common body, belonging to different systems of its life support. Therefore, our groups can conduct vital forces to their respective nations in any part of the world. Every part of our movement in the world, every group has the same relationship with its nation as we have here with the nation of Israel.

Therefore, Baal HaSulam’s words are applicable to any group, as well as all the groups together and their relationship with the world because as we know from the science of Kabbalah, the particular and the general are equal.

They key in this entire picture is to understand that we exist in one state. When the point in the heart awakens in us, it pushes us to reveal the true reality which fully depends on the efforts of the actual person and nothing else.

The entire reality already exists in its complete perfection and magnificence. But we are unable to attain the perception of the true reality without the revelation of evil, suffering, and sorrow.

Then, the person naturally justifies all the stages of his path during the process of the development of his desires. He understands that all the suffering that every part of his soul experienced was necessary to reveal the true state which was perfect from the very beginning. He saw these desires as separate, broken, distant, and suffering because this was the only way for him to understand this enormous anguish. He could attain this suffering only due to the fact that it got divided into numerous pieces which he perceived as foreign.

Gradually, with the help of the Light which corrects his attitude towards them, man reveals that these are his own parts, and to this extent, he acquires the ability to justify everything the world has gone through over the course of its history.

This is how he accumulates within himself all the suffering of this enormous vessel, desire, and can bear it. This is a huge combined suffering of all souls throughout time, collected into one vessel with love towards and in unity with them. And then he reaches the state of “grieving for Jerusalem,” which is the collective broken Malchut. And when he reveals it, he also discovers its joy.

From this it becomes clear that the breaking was necessary to help us reveal the suffering of this entire enormous soul while being opposite to its perfection. This is why a person justifies all of these actions: the breaking and the entire process of correction, seeing this great mercy and the Creator’s absolute love for him.

If not for the breaking, he would not be able to bear such an enormous empty Kli (desire)—opposite to its great bestowal! For this reason, the breaking we are in today is a joyous opportunity to attain absolute desire, absolute trepidation, and grieve for Jerusalem to finally feel its joy.

In the News (from ScienceDaily.com): “’Scientists Discover Tipping Point for the Spread of Ideas.’ Scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have found that when just 10 percent of the population holds an unshakable belief, their belief will always be adopted by the majority of the society.…

“An important aspect of the finding is that the percent of committed opinion holders required to shift majority opinion does not change significantly regardless of the type of network in which the opinion holders are working. In other words, the percentage of committed opinion holders required to influence a society remains at approximately 10 percent, regardless of how or where that opinion starts and spreads in the society.”

My Comment: Kabbalah says that society is like a vessel (spiritual Kli), consisting of 10 parts (Sefirot). Thus, the tenth part of society becomes its unit, and less than 10 percent is not considered a part of it.

If this part acquires a single desire, it becomes the main part of the structure (Malchut), which absorbs in itself all the properties of the other parts (the first 9 Sefirot), not connected between themselves, attracting and using them for its fulfillment.

The Zohar, Chapter “Truma,” Item 759: Once the Nukva was adorned—meaning built by [Partzuf] AVI [Aba ve Ima]—and ZA and Nukva returned to being PBP [Panim be Panim], that shape of man, ZA, came by craving for the Nukva. There, in the Nukva, the second man of Beria was engraved and depicted, as his form. It is written about him, “And begot a son in his own likeness, after his image.”

The Book of Zohar talks only about what is happening in the network that connects the souls. The entire sum total of these connections between us is called “the upper world,” whose pictures are described by The Zohar, including forces, Lights, various forms and images. There is nothing more for us to imagine because this is what we are living in.

Each of us individually is a desire to enjoy, and outside of every one of us, in the connections between us there is the upper world, filled with Light. Therefore, I have to “wrap up” my will to enjoy, cover it as if in a shadow, perform a restriction on it and create a screen and reflected Light, and then to exist outside of it, in my relationships with others.

This is exactly what The Zohar talks about: which form or image I take on in relation to others. If I do this, then I reveal everything we read about in The Zohar. Otherwise I am inside of myself, in my will to enjoy, and I feel only this world.

We can perceive either inside of us or above us, outside of us. “Outside of us” means in the attitude to the neighbor, where “a neighbor” is the people with whom I want to build a connecting network. This is called “the group.” If I relate to the whole world in this way, then the group is the whole world.

While correcting my qualities, if I desire to reveal the force that founded everything, then I reveal it according to the law of equivalence of form. As soon as my connecting network with others acquires a spiritual form, a spiritual essence, the true mutual bestowal, the level of mutual guarantee even on the first stage, then inside of it, I immediately feel the Creator.

Question: We see our friends from Los Angeles and representatives of different nations on the screen. How well do they understand our Biblical language?

Answer: Both we and they must interpret this language in the terminology of desires and understand it according to the inner way of reading.

I have my inner truth. For example, in this world I am of Jewish origin, and sitting next to me there is a Chinese friend. I am separated from my truth by the confusion of the first order, and he—by the confusion of the second order.

Let’s detach from this material world. We both have a specific egoistic desire. According to his level of desire, he is called a “Chinese” person and according to my level of desire, I am called a “Jew.”

Thus, he and I both have to perform certain work in order to get to the truth. This is what the notion of “70 nations” points to. Each of them has its own work, but it is absolutely the same for everyone to a specific measure. We think that this is not so, but in reality, the work differs only slightly by its external style, although it is entirely identical by the inner specifics, by the relative depth and the phases of the path. We all have the same work.

It seems to me that it’s very difficult for another person, that a third is not making it at all, and a fourth was already born an angel and is attaining the goal offhand. But in reality, nothing is known to me and I do not see the general picture in which everything works equally.

Thus, the great egoistic desire is divided into the “70 nations of the world” and Israel. Don’t think that Israel has an easier time than others. It’s just that every person makes efforts from his own layer of the common desire.

The real work of Israel lies in coming out of all the “70 nations” to the truth. After all, it is included in them by means of the breaking. It is written about this, “You will be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation for Me.” That is why representatives of different nations come to us—desires that aspire straight to the Creator from the common receiving desire. They express themselves as Israel and are now called precisely that.

Everyone else who are not awakening are called “the 70 nations of the world” and will have to correct themselves later on. But one way or another, all the qualities and opportunities of every person are precisely “optimized.” Not one nation has precedence in spirituality.

You might object, “But the common ‘body’ of Adam HaRishon contains some organs that are more important and some that are less?” That’s true, but this relates to the order of correction: At first the purer desires start the correction, and then the “coarser” ones. However, perfection erases all disproportions.

Therefore, it’s enough to have a small wound, the absence of just one cell, and the whole body is devoid of perfection. In this sense, everyone are equal, by the principle of equality of the general and the particular.
