Why Do We Bless the Creator?

249.02

Question: What does the author call a blessing at the beginning and at the end, and how does this relate to the structure of the prayer?

Answer: We bless the Creator for gradually revealing all our mistakes and shortcomings and then thank Him for correcting these mistakes. That is how we go through all our desires and all the corrections.

We thank the Creator for the shortcomings He initially created in us and for the steps we take to correct these shortcomings. And so we move forward.

When we bless the Creator, we raise Him above ourselves more and more and thus can call upon ourselves even greater light.

In Continuous Merging

527.03One must know in one’s heart that the Creator chases him just as much as he chases the Creator. One must never forget that, even during the greatest longing. When remembering that the Creator misses and chases him to cling to him as intensely as one wishes for it himself, he then always goes from strength to strength, with yearning and longing, in a never-ending Zivug [coupling], the complete perfection of the soul, until he is rewarded with repentance from love (Baal HaSulam, Letter No. 19).

Question: It is so poetically written here that he then always goes from strength to strength, with yearning and longing, in a never-ending Zivug. How can one reach such a high state?

Answer: If a person constantly directs himself toward greater connection with the Creator, by striving to feel it, he gradually begins to sense it. Continuous merging (Zivug) is when you constantly desire to be connected with the Creator and direct your sensations toward knowing Him. And thus, you move toward Him.

Question: Do true Kabbalists direct all their sensations, everything that happens to them throughout the day, toward the Creator and connect with Him through this?

Answer: Certainly. Is there anyone else besides the Creator? He is the root of everything, and a person directs himself toward Him.

Question: How do they not lose this focus on the Creator?

Answer: Through their own effort and personal prayer.

Overcome the Burden of the Heart

528.01Question: Why, when a friend has some trouble, does resistance arise in the ten to work with his Hisaron (lack)?

Answer: Because this is not your own need, but supposedly someone else’s. The Creator deliberately burdens your hearts so that you overcome this.

Question: Does the Creator, by this, want to show that the friend himself, in prayer to Him, will feel the strength to rise and unite all friends?

Answer: No, the friend himself cannot do anything. He can only raise a prayer to the Creator and ask Him.

In the Common Field of Unity

942Question: What kind of work should take place in the ten when the Creator pushes it away and then calls it to Himself?

Answer: In the ten, we must work, trying constantly to come closer to each other and then to the Creator.

There are no other possibilities here except to create a common field of unity around us from which we turn to the Creator, convince Him to help us, and bring us closer to Himself.

The Main Thing Is the Work in a Group

530Question: Will dissemination work allow us to receive the light of the Creator without feeling shame?

Answer: Yes, of course. After all, at that time you attract additional desires to yourself, place them under a common screen, and ask for them to be filled with light so that the Creator corrects them and raises them to His level. What more could there be? Therefore, it turns out that the most important thing is the work in the group.

In Thoughts about the Creator

934Question: How can we stay only in thoughts about the Creator or at least quickly return to them?

Answer: It is with the help of a group. It is difficult to do this alone. It is necessary to study, read, and listen all the time. But it is much easier to do this with the help of a group.

When you are surrounded by the thoughts and statements of your friends, when you hear them all the time, you will be able to constantly remain in thoughts about the purpose of creation, about coming closer to the Creator.

On the Approach to the Creator

528.01Question: Once you said that we are created out of heavy and lazy material, I feel it more and more. Is it right to ask my friends to pressure me, or is it better to ask the Creator to correct it?

Answer: Each of you is becoming increasingly egoistic every day and therefore needs pressure and help so that your friends can pull you with them. That is deliberately done by the Creator so that you feel the need to connect with each other and thus move forward.

If you constantly talk about it, then it will be much easier for you to raise MAN for each other from the heart.

You should get a gradual feeling of approaching the Creator. Through this, you will see what will happen next.

The Need to Belong to Something Great

589.02Question: Let’s say a person invests in spirituality and does certain actions, what are the stages of his investment through these actions?

Answer: A person’s investment begins long before he begins to study Kabbalah.

In general, any action in our world, even if it is unconscious, forced, or directed only to maintain one’s body, is still recorded and taken into account. But it is taken into account not as personal, but as part of a machine that moves a person forward as a stage of evolution and instinctive development.

Then, when the person begins to act more or less consciously or even still forcibly, he looks at others and does the same; for example, the way it happens in our world group.

Look at what thousands of friends are doing. They are engaged in dissemination, are awake at night, translate materials from one language to another, and so on.

A person does not even understand why he is guided in this way from above. He feels the need: “I have to do this. This is how I feel that I belong to something big.”

Gradually, these actions become more and more conscious. There is a feeling in them that at first did not exist at all. Understanding arises in them.

After all, when you do the same thing all the time, you delve inside it. The action itself expands your perception, through your contact with what you are doing. You begin to feel the material that you are working with, the way it behaves, its response; Its model starts to be created in you. This is how we advance.

Why Did the Good Creator Create an Evil Person?

294.4And so, Lord our God, instill fear of You upon all that You have made, and dread of You upon all that You have created; and [then] all works will be in awe of You, all the created beings will prostrate themselves before You, and they all will form a single band to carry out Your will with a perfect heart. For we know, Lord our God, that rulership is Yours, strength is in Your [left] hand, might is in Your right hand, and Your Name is awesome over all that You have created (Machzor for Yom Kippur).

Question: Why does this day of atonement prayer state that it is necessary to fear the Creator?

Answer: The fact is that it is very difficult for us to understand the imbalance between an absolutely good Creator and an absolutely evil person that was created by the same good Creator. Why? It is precisely to make a person realize the reason he was created like that and to start feeling a desire to be like the Creator.

Question: What is the reason?

Answer: It is just so that we start wanting to be like the Creator.

Question: Does it mean that I am very far from Him and want to be like Him?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Is it deliberate that I am far from Him?

Answer: Initially.

Question: What does it mean that they will have fear of the Creator?

Answer: This is already an appeal to the Creator. It is when people will feel that all this comes from Him, so that they are afraid and ask Him for correction.

Question: What does it mean when it is said, and they will prostrate themselves before You?

Answer: They will wish to subjugate to the good inclination of the Creator.

Question: What does, and they all will form a single band to carry out Your will with a perfect heart,  mean?

Answer: This is when everyone will help others so that everyone together will be in goodness and in love for the Creator and for everyone.
