Give Birth to Ourselves

264.01In the initially created collective soul, we existed in a wondrous state of connection. But when the shattering occurred between all the desires, each began to care only for itself.

Imagine if the various organs in our body, down to the cells, molecules, atoms, and the tiniest elementary particles, which exist in it in hundreds if not thousands of forms, started to act independently.

This is precisely the state of our world. Naturally it is very difficult to understand how we are meant to be connected in a perfect form from such a fragmented picture.

How can such tiny particles, each confined to its minuscule Kli, grasp with their small, egoistic minds, that a connection of all parts exists: first into molecular systems, then into organs, and finally into a whole organism that must function for a higher purpose? That above this body exists something called the Creator and that adhesion with Him, His revelation, is a completely different and unique form of existence?

It is absolutely impossible for an elementary particle, which each of us essentially is, to understand this.

But this does not exempt us nor remove us from the influence of the law called “the unity of the Creator and creation.” In any case, we are governed from that very same state that existed before our separation, before the connection between us called Arvut (mutual guarantee) disappeared.

From that place, we are in fact operated in order to return to it, but now with our own awareness. From the state we find ourselves in today—scattered and disconnected, with each one feeling only themselves—we are just beginning to hear that we have a duty to merge, to draw closer, to connect by means of some upper force.

Of course, these elementary particles are not capable of doing anything on their own. But they must come to desire that the upper light will reconnect them and give each of them the desire to unite with the rest into a single system. Then, with each act of connection, they will receive a new purpose in life, a need for a higher form of existence.

If, in performing this work, they make efforts and turn to the light for help, then by the same force of light that once sustained them on a higher level, they are returned to their original state.

But what is the difference? The difference is that now, it is as if they give birth to themselves. They reconnect, correct themselves, secure their existence by their own decision, thereby acquiring independence, reason, attainment, and understanding, and return to their previous state of existence already equipped with an understanding of the entire structure of reality.

From having come to know themselves, they also come to know the actions of the light that created and connected them, and thus attain the level of the Creator: “From Your actions, we shall know You.”

Our Task

942Question: Do we lack the development of Aviut to advance?

Answer: We do not worry about Aviut, whether it is revealed or not. We must take care of the connection between us in the conditions given. We receive the level of Aviut with all the heaviness, confusion, and hindrances corresponding to the level, according to its nature. That is how it should be, period! We have nothing to be indignant about and no need to find out why this is the case and not otherwise.

We do not understand this. We have no comprehension in the revelation of the common vessel, even in its smallest part! So what can we say about this?!

We must accept this above knowledge. Of course, we can explore this, but all these scrutinies may divert us from the action itself.

There is only one direction. The levels of the Aviut will be revealed, obstacles will be revealed, all kinds of conditions, internal and external, will be revealed, and we must accept them because each revelation is the revelation of another stage and another, where we will have to make connections, and create a common Kli.

Today, according to what is being revealed, we must unite between those who are ready, openly, by mutual agreement. In the rest of the world that is not ready and does not understand what is going on we must spread this knowledge in every possible way so that it rises upward. That is our task.

According to the Magnitude of Desire

243.07Question: Is Arvut (mutual guarantee) the same for Kelim (vessels) with small and large Aviut?

Answer: The law of Arvut does not depend on Aviut. Naturally, it manifests in different forms in accordance with the level of Aviut and the nature of the Kli one has acquired.

What is the difference between degrees of Aviut in relation to Arvut? For example, Abraham and his household fulfilled the law of Arvut, because the Kelim must be connected with each other to a certain degree in order to reveal the upper light that will elevate them to some level of spiritual life.

But they hardly needed to exert effort because their souls were so pure that they understood how to reach adhesion, and through connection among themselves, to reach equivalence of form with the light.

To the extent that each person devotes himself to the group, he merits similarity to the light. And the entire group reaches such a powerful connection in intention for the sake of bestowal that the light begins to shine within it.

However, when the desire within the group becomes more coarse, then naturally the law of Arvut must be implemented in a different form according to the increased Aviut. This creates a problem: a methodology is needed; special lights are needed for the correction of the Kelim. This is what we call the Torah.

Therefore the reason for the need to attain Arvut in the first place becomes less obvious; it disappears. The increased Aviut conceals the Creator, the light withdraws, and it becomes unclear why this is necessary at all.

The desire to receive begins to demand all kinds of things for itself, and the person no longer clearly sees that the world operates according to the law of love for one’s neighbor. One’s perception becomes clouded.

This continues until people no longer believe that this reality operates according to the law of love for others.

They begin to relate to one another based on their own desire to receive, which grows, increasingly confuses a person, and causes him to descend further and further.

This is exactly what happens with us. We find ourselves in inspiration and then in descent. At one moment we feel capable of giving ourselves over and remaining in that state, and then suddenly we begin to make more animalistic, more earthly calculations.

It seems to us that this is the real world, that this is how we must live, that these are the laws we must follow. Everything aligns with the current state you are in, whether your desire to receive has increased or whether it has quieted down within you.

Is “Female” the Natural Intention We Are Born With?

We are not born with a natural intention “in order to receive.” “In order to receive” is an intention that becomes expressed solely in relation to the Creator and not simply as a drive to enjoy life. Merely enjoying life requires no correction. If we drink a glass of water in order to receive, this action does not become “in order to bestow.” “In order to receive” or “in order to bestow” become expressed solely in relation to the Creator and not in any other matter. Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah does not relate to this world; it relates only to Godliness. It deals with how we relate to the Creator, whether we want to draw from Him or to give to Him.

All of Reality Was Created By a Single Thought of the Creator

712.03All of reality was created by a single thought of the Creator. This one thought begins and concludes the entire process that creation must undergo. It is itself both the entire reality and the final reward. Everything except the desire of the Creator is contained within this thought that realizes His intention. It emanates from the Creator and within it all the created beings are manifested.

The expected reward is also embedded in it because all actions and all their outcomes are directed toward reaching the end of correction.

It is said that a person must place the Creator as a King over himself. That is, it is not enough that the Creator has prepared everything for us, the creation and its development, all that exists and will be. What matters is that the human being must also engage in the work to study the actions of the Creator and to elevate Him to the upper reality: to place Him as a King over himself.

A person strives to study creation on all its levels and through this gain the ability to connect everything to the upper force. Then he sees that this upper force is the Creator.

If one makes the correct choice and walks the correct path in the world in which he was created, he gradually reveals the force that governs this world and feels the necessity to bow before it.

As a person draws closer to nature, he discovers that within it, there is one upper force encompassing everything, including the person himself. It is this force we must reveal through our connection with one another.

In striving to come closer and unite ever more deeply with the friends, we gradually come to see that all of this has been prepared for us by the Creator and that it leads to the revelation of the Creator at the center of our unity. There is no other way.

The quality of such work elevates a person above everything else because through it, he takes steps toward resembling the Creator. When a person attains even the slightest similarity with the Creator, through his adhesion to the upper, he begins to rise toward Him. The work of connection brings us closer to the upper force.

938.04The main condition for the common soul to be corrected and fit to receive the light is the mutual guarantee between its parts.

We must attain the very state originally created by the Creator by our own efforts. What are those efforts? They are efforts in Arvut.

As we ascend from below upward through the degrees of adhesion, we do so, of course, unconsciously, without strength, without understanding, without prior agreement to what lies ahead. All that is asked of us is to express, even in the simplest and most naïve way, a desire for something we do not yet truly know.

We simply walk, and through the surrounding light (Ohr Makif), we awaken the allure of holiness from the spiritual world upon ourselves. We begin to feel that this is something desirable, and then we act in the direction of Arvut.

What does this mean? It means we move in the direction of the correction of the Kli (vessel). That is, the Creator’s light is present and fills us; our task is only to reveal it. The Creator is already within us. This state is unchanging, but we can uncover it only through a certain action called the Arvut.

The Kabbalist Beyond the Body

538Question: When a Kabbalist transitions to another dimension, can he observe what is happening in this world without his body; meaning, can he observe the process from the side and influence it?

Answer: Naturally! But not in the form of bodies, but in the form of forces.
You see bodies. For example, right now you see me on your computer screen. But what if you could see me, not on the screen, but inside the hard drive? That is where all the information is!

Why do you need to look at the monitor at all? Look straight at the hard drive! That is all. Why do you need five senses? Why do you need these “casings and coverings”? Inside the electrons, that is where the upper spiritual life is. That is how a Kabbalist sees.

There is a complete picture, and it is all in spirituality. Our world is included within spirituality.

For example, when we talk about small children, we speak about their desires, efforts, and qualities and not their outer appearance. We speak from the level at which they are relevant to us, the level on which they connect with us.

So all the attributes of our world are completely absent in the spiritual world. In the spiritual world, we perceive only egoistic forces.

Comment: But on the other hand, you always bring the spiritual world down to the level of our world.

My Response: That is because there is no real difference! The only difference is in how a person perceives: one sees this way, another sees that way. But the worlds themselves, they do not exist.

Question: Right now, we are speaking through a screen, not telepathically. We are communicating, and this information is somehow reaching others. Why must it be this way?

Answer: So that we understand the necessity of the connection between us and begin to truly want to unite!

Chapter 13. The True Nature

We cannot reach our root, the purpose of creation, without passing through every single state. Sometimes it might seem to us that we have already gone through a certain state or that we will not need to experience it because we already recognize and understand it. But that will not help us. We must pass through all the states.

We comprise all the discernments written in the books, and even those without mention. That is, we must enter into all the discernments of impurity (Klipa), holiness (Kedusha), Pharaoh, angel, and so on, to be in them, to want not to be in them, and to prepare ourselves to exit from them and advance, each time donning a new form and a new role, like an actor, thus passing through many garments.

We cannot avoid discerning something, meaning, we cannot skip degrees. We cannot desire to be male before we have been female. We must be and feel female, reject that state, and then, from that rejection and remorse, we will reach the state of male. In every single state, we need to prepare a deficiency for correction, and afterward, a deficiency for fulfillment.

So what is our true nature? Our nature is neither male nor female. Male and female are two states that we need to undergo, one after the other, at each and every degree. “Male” and “Female” represent intentions, not the will to receive.
