A Message to the People of Israel

294.2Our message to the people of Israel must be that a person should be a “kingdom of priests” and a “holy nation” in relation to himself and in relation to a group of people, whether small or large, all the way to the rest of the nations and the world.

The same applies to the group in relation to the world, and the entire nation in relation to the world. It does not matter. Every part of creation, of the will to receive, that feels it is capable of this, in accordance with the awareness of the importance of this action, takes part in the correction both in relation to itself and in relation to the whole of reality, that is, to the rest of creation, to all other souls so that all may reach the degree of adhesion with the Creator.

Question: Can we go out with this message to the people?

Answer: This is our duty. It is no coincidence that Baal HaSulam finished the series of articles “Matan Torah (The Giving of the Torah)” and “The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee)” by stating that this is our task. This must be our banner.

Question: But isn’t this talking about the final state?

Answer: That is true. Although the phrase “You shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests” doesn’t yet refer to the end, but rather to the correction of Bina in a person, that is, the intention not for one’s own sake, the state of Hafetz Hesed (one who desires nothing for himself).

In general, we are speaking about two very great corrections, which mean attaining two degrees in the revelation of the face of the Creator (Gilui Panim) beyond the Machsom: bestowal for the sake of bestowal and reception for the sake of bestowal. The first degree is called governance by reward and punishment and the second eternal love. They stand opposite the “kingdom of priests” and “holy nation.”

However, since these are very high levels and are still far from us, it turns out that even at the smallest level, you cannot move from your place unless you take into account where you ultimately want to arrive. Even the smallest effort, according to how much you understand in your current state, must already be directed toward the final degree.

Baal HaSulam writes about the kibbutzim and Soviet Russia. Why did they not succeed? Even though their work was, in essence, based on the principle of “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and they were willing to carry it out, they could not do it. On the contrary, they only revealed the Klipa in it, because their work was not aimed at the final goal, and they did not see it as preparation for adhesion with the Creator. But that should have been the starting condition, because “the end of the act is in the initial thought.”

Such is the requirement for every appeal, every condition, and every action of a person because otherwise it is not an act that integrates into the process and becomes part of the spiritual path.
