Work in Lishma
Question: We clearly realize that all our actions are performed from a state of Lo Lishma, and this leads us to the recognition of our own evil. Should we accompany this process with joy, knowing that we are making efforts in the work for the Creator?
Answer: A person goes through several stages in the attitude toward the nature of reception and the nature of bestowal. We need to strive to understand where we are. Of course, this is concealed from us, but gradually we can develop a feeling of it.
When performing certain actions, you must clearly understand for whom, for what purpose, and why you are doing them. Gradually, you will develop an accurate awareness of your actions, whether you are moving forward and progressing or not.
In general, we must reach a state where almost everything we do is not for ourselves, but for the Creator.
This gradual accumulation of our efforts, intentions, requests, and qualities happens, and shifts our egoism toward them and allows us to act for the Creator. That is the work of Lishma.
