The World through the Creator’s Eyes

707Even when a Kabbalist is already on high degrees, it is very useful for him to study the books of other Kabbalists. Then he can see reality through another’s qualities because each person looks from their own point of view. By learning how others perceive the spiritual reality, he begins to see it through every corrected soul, and thus he quickly joins the common soul.

At first, I am a point inside a circle. I have corrected myself and built my connection with infinity, a line from the center of the circle to the light surrounding it. I have connected with all the other souls, and thereby expanded this line, like a sector, over the entire circle. Now the entire plane of the circle is my corrected desire. I have completely corrected myself by uniting with the other souls.

But this is not enough. Because my circle is flat. And there are other circles, other corrected souls. When all these circles unite, they form a sphere, with one common center. This means that I must see all the corrections of all souls from their point of view.

Why? Because the Creator looks from above at every soul and brings it into action. I must reach that very same level. Therefore I need to clothe myself in each person and see his correction from his own point of view, from within his soul.

Only then do I attain equivalence of form with the upper force. It is not enough for me to correct my own plane. I must correct one plane after another, circle after circle, until they all unite into a sphere.

This is mandatory. Otherwise, we do not attain similarity to the Creator. And so each person connects with others and looks through them.

And then all must unite together. All the individual spheres combine into an even more “rounded,” perfect dimension. And then all private distinctions disappear completely.

But this stage is beyond our corrections.

My Attitude Toward the Friends

13.03We cannot directly measure our attitude toward one another. We can measure how much we love or hate each other only in relation to some external object.

Suppose you love something and I hate it, or you love it more than I do—this love, too, is relative. And only in this way can it be measured.

This is the basis of the technique for the precise inner, spiritual measurement of the connection between people, for through it they also connect to the Creator. This measurement must be very personal because all of us have completely different desires. We need to examine to what extent we are even capable of discerning this connection. But there is no doubt that if I love what you hate, then we cannot unite.

This is how we can test our attitude toward each other. There are billions of different concepts in the world, and if we want to love one another, then our attitude has to align regarding each of them. This is called adhesion.

How else can I examine you, and you me? It is possible only in relation to a benchmark that is outside of both you and me. By comparing ourselves to it, we determine whether we match or not. The benchmark by which our attitude toward the Creator is checked is the group, for this is the place where we are together with Him.

If I relate to the group correctly, I discover that the Creator is already there from the beginning, in unity with the friends. As it is said: “The Creator dwells among His people.” He is already in the group. The only problem is that I am not there. Therefore all my work consists of attaching myself to the nine friends and completing them to a full ten.

To the extent that I attach myself to the group, I merge with the Creator. There is no other frame of reference. The group is the benchmark, the standard, the tuning fork by which I adjust myself. Nothing is required from the friends, not even their agreement.

If I join them unconditionally, and annul myself in everything, I will discover that they accept me with all their heart and soul, and that the Creator dwells among them. The group is in a state of final correction.

The Unity of the Two Lines

232.08Two opposites in a single whole is the main point that defines the entrance to the upper world, to the spiritual dimension, that is, to the space where the Creator dwells, the source of the two forces.

With respect to us, they are revealed as the force of evil and the force of good—Klipa and holiness, bestowal and reception, two opposite forces. But for the Creator there is no contradiction and everything is united as one.

Only relative to us, in our perception and understanding, do they appear as two forces that contradict one another. The more we begin to perceive creation, the more distance and opposition we see between them.

Because of this we are unable to perceive the spiritual. As it is said: “In Isaac shall your seed be called, but you must sacrifice him.” One contradicts the other. On the one hand, he must be killed; on the other, he is to continue your path.

How is this possible? We cannot understand this with our earthly mind. We must attain the mind of the upper one. If we try to hold onto both principles, we draw the light that returns to the source, which builds a new reality for us. In this new space that we reveal, called the middle line, these two opposite lines can coexist as a single whole and complement each other.

This is extremely difficult to grasp, practically impossible. We need an environment and the upper light that returns to the source that will unite the two lines within the middle line. The middle line is the Creator.

The revelation of the Creator, the unity of the two opposite lines, gradually leads us to the purpose of creation, to the end of correction. Step by step, these opposites grow and unite more and more, and this is the entire work.

We have already completed sufficient preparation over many years and have gathered many people who are capable of this step. The rest will become capable of it by attaching themselves to those who have already reached the right readiness.

Thus, in our world, children who are born in the 21st century join all the advancements achieved by previous generations, and move ahead of them because they attach to their parents and receive everything the parents have.

So it is in the Kabbalistic group. It does not matter who has advanced more or who less. If each one tries to reach the goal with all their strength and preparation, they will reach it.

I hope for you will approach this topic seriously because in the entire wisdom of Kabbalah—in spiritual work, in attaining the Creator, the upper reality and the perfection of nature—there is nothing more important than this principle of the unity of the two lines.

This integration of opposites is the spiritual space that is revealed to a person. When they enter it, they begin to feel the next world. There is no doubt that through our common efforts we are capable of advancing and achieving all of this, and pulling each person toward this degree, toward the beginning of the true spiritual ladder.

From this moment onward, we always advance in the three lines in faith above reason. Then the entire Torah and the whole world will become clear to us. All of reality begins to become clear; it divides into three lines and reveals their interaction.

For now we do not know where the plus and minus originate, nor where they lead us. But if we know how to correctly connect the opposites above this world and above earthly intellect within spiritual feeling and reason, then we attain unlimited revelation and understand how the Creator acts, what He does, what we must do to be similar to Him, to become “like gods, knowing good and evil.”
