An Attitude toward the Spiritual System

224Therefore, the Creator gave him the above warning, “no less,” but offered them the true nature of the work, in all its sublimity, expressed in the words, “a kingdom of priests.”

Regarding the reward that is defined in the words “a holy nation,” he was warned, “no more” (Baal HaSulam, “The Arvut [Mutual Guarantee]”).

The words “no more” and “no less” essentially speak about one’s attitude toward the system.

What does “a kingdom of priests” mean? It means not for one’s own sake. It refers to a correction that is not intended for me; I cut myself off from personal interest. In everything I do and carry out, in everything that will happen, there is no “I.” My “I” is, so to speak, completely absent from reality. My concern is that reality should exist and not that I should exist in it. This is called “a kingdom of priests.” And we must reach “no less” than this correction.

The words “no more” imply the form of work with AHP. One may engage with the AHP only in such measure and with such Aviut, that it is always “no more” than in order to reach adhesion for the sake of bestowal.

In this way, the distinction between the work according to the principle of “no less” with vessels of bestowal, and the principle of “no more” with vessels of reception is expressed. Baal HaSulam formulates it in this way.
