Dual State
Question: We are talking about our state for tomorrow. Where does this depiction come from? Does the Creator give us some light or does my ego fantasize this?
Answer: When we imagine our future, we say that we desire it. Where do the knowledge, sensation, and necessity for this future state appear in us? Where does this ultimately come from?
We study that originally, we existed in a good state when we were united and the Creator manifested within us. The only thing He manifested was in the small state (Katnut). This is the state of the system Adam that was created by the Creator before its breaking. Then the upper light, meaning the entire influence of the Creator, focused on this system and destroyed it.
What does “destroyed” mean? It became connected between all parts of the system as pure egoism that separates all the parts so that a feeling appears that is the opposite of the Creator. It is similar to what we do with our kids when we want to teach them to be more independent, to feel life better, and begin to understand it. We gradually distance them from us and they do the same according to their nature.
Thus the Creator entered into us and filled the distance between us with the property opposite to Him, the property of receiving, not bestowal. Now we have to turn this property into His property, but by our request.
Therefore, each time we want to be closer to one another we will sense that we hate one another even more and repel one another. This sensation will only get stronger.
On the other hand we will be asking to unite because in unity between the broken parts we include ourselves in each other and the Creator together into one system. Then instead of tearing us apart, the Creator will connect us.
In the state of the breaking, He is called “Pharaoh,” but in the state of unity “Creator,” “Upper Force.” This is how it works.
