Dance of the Soul

938.02Question: What is the inner dance of the ten that gives unceasing joy?

Answer: If we are constantly looking for an ascent, then we will naturally begin to descend and rise from it. Such ascents and descents are called a dance that we must remain in; that is, we need to constantly seek how to rise to spirituality and beware of being lowered.

Our egoism will always work to lower us, and we must be grateful to it for the opportunity for another ascent. This is the correct work with our egoism.

Question: Is this ascent of the soul, the dance of the soul, and love for the Creator a support within knowledge?

Answer: No, all this is above knowledge. Within reason we do not see, feel, or sense any taste.

Question: How can you make the ascents and the descents happen at a fast pace so that the joy never stops?

Answer: You must be responsible for the state of spirit in your ten, and then you will achieve a lot.

Care for the World

254.02We need to tell people about the causes of the multifaceted, multilateral global crises: political, economic, spiritual, moral, climatic, etc. because it is practically one crisis.

We must explain to everyone what state we are in. Until there was a global crisis, we were silent. We spoke about ecology and economics and how they were heading toward collapse, but these were empty conversations. Now that we see with our own eyes what is happening in the world, in society, in everything, and everywhere, it has become easier for us to explain this.

We, as the last generation, as representatives of the Creator, can truly do everything possible for people to understand this.

Each of you is unique in that you have received such a desire, aspiration, and connection with the next level of humanity, to which it has yet to ascend. You already have some kind of contact with this level; therefore, you must explain how to master it, how to transition to the next level, and what to do with it.

This is your mandatory mission. This is why you are living. You do not exist for yourself. And thank God, we understand that a person cannot exist for his own sake; after all, the upper world is entirely about bestowal.

Therefore you should constantly use every opportunity to post your notes and articles, to reprint what we write, and to adapt it to the reader you are addressing. This is permanent, mandatory work, and there can be no excuses here. You have no idea how this benefits you.

You will feel that your mind and feelings, your heart and head, will open up as a result of your care for the correction of the world. After all, we are like a guiding group, like a head. By itself it cannot exist if the body does not exist. Therefore we must think about how to disseminate.

560Question: Should we engage in dissemination for elderly people?

Answer: An elderly person is still a part of the global soul! What difference does it make that they are elderly?! The important thing is that they can hear.

Let us say they have five years left to live, these are incredibly significant years! They will think about it because physical death is approaching and possibly some kind of connection with an eternal state.

The elderly are more fertile ground than the youth. Do not neglect them.

The Cumulative Process Over the Years

528.04Question: When we study the Torah in the ten, we read it first as a text. What happens to us when we suddenly begin to see, as Baal HaSulam writes, the upper worlds: Yetzira, Beria, and Atzilut?

Answer: These are levels of attainment, levels of connection, and levels of mutual influence between you and the Creator. At some point, you or the ten begin to feel these levels and everything that happens in a different key, like a child who has grown up and now feels the world and others differently.

Question: How does this happen with a Kabbalist? Does he come to the lesson, read the text as it is, and can rise to the sensation of the upper worlds? Or is it some kind of cumulative process over the years?

Answer: For a Kabbalist, this is a cumulative process. In addition, he is at a certain level to begin with.

Why Does the Creator Punish Humanity?

294.2Victor asks:

Your Moses led the people to the land of Israel, he did everything that the Creator told him. And then, when they had already approached the border, the Creator suddenly said to Moses: “Turn over your duties—you will not enter this land. You will die here on this mountain.”

How is this possible? It is clear that people committed all sorts of sins before the Creator, but Moses was His devoted servant. Let him enter, he was waiting for this moment so much!

Comment: Indeed, in the Midrash Rabba it is written even more coolly. There are even thoughts of Moses, who says: “I have walked so much, let me at least touch this land! After all, I was walking and dreaming of entering this land.”

My Response: You walked and dreamed of fulfilling the desire of the Creator every day, every minute, with every step.

Question: Is this the main thing? Was it my goal to come to this, in fact? Is this my final test, then, which I have to pass?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Is this not cruel?

Answer: It may seem cruel to us.

Question: Is it necessary that I deserve to enter there? Or do I have to, as you say, annul myself and work as He guides me every moment, and that is it?

Answer: You must devote yourself to the Creator every moment.

Question: Then there is a question. It is written there that there were sins of the people, and there was the sin of Moses. Can it be said in relation to the sins “Because of your sins you will not enter.” Can this happen?

Answer: In general, yes. It is written this way.

Question: Is not to sin a possible option, or will we sin in any case?

Answer: It is impossible.

Question: So, we sin?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Can we say that today humanity is being punished by the Creator for not entering a land?

Answer: In general, yes. Of course, judging by our daily states, we are undergoing punishment. But on the other hand, this punishment is still purifying us, changing us, and bringing us closer to the Creator.

Question: Can I come to terms with what is happening while I am living with this thought?

Answer: What else can you do?

Question: Does it mean that I am going through purgatory?

Answer: Yes, You need to grasp the fact that you must adhere to the Creator every moment and stick to Him as much as possible.

How to Avoiding Execution as a King

294.2Question: I read an article that says the Italian thinker, writer, philosopher, and politician of the 15th century Machiavelli wrote:

If you are chosen as king, and the crown turns out to be big, then first it will fall on your eyes… And you will not see anything!

Then it will fall on your ears… And you won’t hear anything!

Then it will slide down to your lips… And you won’t be able to say anything!

In the end, it will fall on your neck… And it will become your collar, by which your own slaves will lead you to execution!

And you will see everything, you will hear everything, and you will be able to say everything…

But no one will listen to you anymore and you will have nothing to say!

Please tell us: The crown symbolizes power; what does it mean when it stays on your head and does not fall?

Answer: When it is on your head, it means it crowns you, that you are the king. It is the symbol of the head of the state.

Question: So you are the first person in the state. You are a parent, and so on. What does it mean when the crown gradually falls off, that it is too big? What is it regarding a leader? What happens to the authorities when they do not hear?

Answer: The leader sees nothing.

Question: Doesn’t he see anyway?

Answer: Look at these leaders.

Question: Can you tell us why this is so?

Answer: Power! It is all about the power.

Question: So when you treat it like, “It is all about me, this is my power”—is that the end?

Answer: That is the end. You are being gradually shut out from the whole world.

Question: So it turns out if the crown on my head does not fall, then do I not say: “I am the power, I am the king”?

Answer: The king must learn from everyone, he must understand that all wisdom is, in fact, among the people, among the masses. And those he selects and brings near him are not his close ones.

Question: So I won’t be able to learn anything from politicians or my close associates?

Answer: Correct.

Question: The quote says the crown goes through all the states, falls on the throat, becomes a collar, and you are led by your slaves to execution. And now you see everything, you can say everything, but no one hears you. What does it mean that slaves are taking you to execution?

Answer: That you stopped being an authority to them. Conversely, they see their future in your destruction.

Comment: That is, all these revolutions, coups, and so on is when the crown fell on the throat, and the slaves would lead one to execution. But this has happened in our history all along.

My Response: Sure.

Question: And slaves are the ones who always lead them to execution. Why is this happening? Do we never learn?

Answer: No, a person who reaches power stops hearing and listening, and is no longer capable of anything.

Question: How do you see the future politician keeping this crown?

Answer: I see a future politician surrounded by the smartest people! They are chosen as advisers only because of their special abilities. The king is elected by them and thus exists for the good of the country.

Question: Should there be fear, an awe in him: “If I …”?

Answer: There must be responsibility. He should constantly be in touch with them, constantly working with them.

Question: And when his “I” suddenly wakes up in him: “I am the leader, I am the king”? What should he do about it?

Answer: It is necessary to convince him that he must kill his “I” all the time.

Comment: You once said the leader of a state, say, a king, a tsar, should be a father to his people.

My Response: Yes.

Question: When you say this, what do you mean by it, other than what we understand?

Answer: He must care.

Question: Is that the main thing?

Answer: Yes, caring about everyone.

Question: Is such a level of empathy possible?

Answer: In general, yes.

Question: Do you see such leaders arising in the future?

Answer: I do not know. We are already on a different path. So that…perhaps through some obstacles…

Comment: Thorns.

My Response: Yes, we will break through.

Question: Will we break through?

Answer: We will.

Gradual Transition

583.04Question: Can a Kabbalist not reveal, and accordingly not correct broken desires? And why?

Answer: There are desires that are very difficult to reveal. Therefore some Kabbalists do not fully reveal themselves to the upper light and thereby correct themselves.

Question: Is it necessary to protect corrected desires, and how do they help uncorrected desires?

Answer: Corrected desires help other desires get closer to correction.

A Kabbalist must gradually move from weak desires to stronger ones, from those that have not suffered much from the fall, to the tougher, greater desires that have seriously suffered from the fall into egoism. In this way, a person gradually moves forward.

Chapter 3. Correction With a Gentle Guiding Touch: The Inner, Middle, and Outer Desire

It is not our role to judge ourselves as strong or weak, brave or cowardly, wise or foolish. We need to exert ourselves to the best of our ability in the developmental process according to our inclinations and inner nature.

It is written, “The prayer of every mouth.” This means that the Creator hears every person’s prayer. In other words, it does not matter who we are or what we feel; we each, with our own feelings, and even deeper, in our heart, pray to the Creator. This deficiency influences our attitude to the Creator and the Creator’s attitude toward us.

In the heart, there is an upper and outer layer through which we feel our desires, and through which we can direct them to the Creator. For instance, we might want to appeal to the Creator with a specific desire that belongs to spiritual work, which is directed at the purpose of creation. Such a desire, albeit external and artificial since we have awakened it, is received above. However, to the extent that it is external for us, it is also external above.

If we delve deeper and examine our innermost desire, by assessing what our heart truly wants, we might discover that our heart does not long for the object of our prayer. We might find that we actually desire rest or some small pleasure instead of treading the path toward the purpose of creation and aiming at lofty matters. Such a feeling is also part of the prayer. The more we expose our innermost desire, the more it is received above.

In the heart, there is an even deeper inner desire that is beyond the level of our awareness and sensation. It is entirely hidden from us. But because it is the innermost, truest, and deepest desire, it is fully received above with its entire power and strength. When a response to this prayer, this hidden desire, comes from above, it is rarely understood.

Everyone exists at every moment in a state that results from the feeling in their heart, which stems from their prayer. However, we do not know how to connect the inner, middle, and outer prayers of the heart with the Creator’s response, as we are unaware of our heart’s deepest desire.

If we were aware of this desire and felt it, even from our current state, based on our present qualities and feelings, we would understand the extent to which we diverge from what we should feel in order to progress toward the purpose of creation. If we felt this deviation, we would know what specific correction needs to be made from above, and we would then understand the spiritual states the Creator sends us to receive through which we become corrected. However, for now, such states are concealed from us.

Nevertheless, at all times and in every state, we raise a prayer, MAN, and receive MAD in return. In other words, what rises from our heart is received above in the general system, which also contains the mechanism that operates on us personally. The response returns to us, which is essentially a correction of direction. It is our next spiritual state, which is aligned with our soul’s root and the purpose we need to reach.

Before we engage in spirituality, we lack the understanding and feeling that this mechanism operates in such a way. However, when we enter spirituality, we start seeing it clearly, and begin working closely with MAN and MAD. We form a reciprocal relationship with the Creator, which connects us to Him and which dictates our every action and our life’s course. This is called “half a shekel.” Half of the work is given by the person and half by the Creator.

Baal HaSulam provides an example of farmers in the Negev who are entirely unaware of the prayer they raise. Nonetheless, their request for rain is received above, and they receive the response below. Every layer of our heart—the inner, middle, and outer—rises upward, and it becomes felt and received by the mechanism responsible for bringing every created being to its correction and root. Accordingly, we correct the heart, which is our desire through various external conditions that continuously correct our direction toward the purpose of creation.

The more the inner desire is directed precisely at the purpose of creation, the more delicate the correction of the direction will be. That is, it will be a small and soft correction, felt as a gentle, guiding touch, like a mother tenderly supporting her child while it is learning to walk. The greater the deviation between the heart’s content and the feeling in our current state toward the purpose of creation, the more significant the correction will be and the more painful the effort to bridge the gap between the present and the desired state. We then feel the force that guides us to goodness in a more severe way, because the environmental conditions we are placed in become more challenging.

This mechanism of MAN and MAD from souls toward Malchut of Atzilut and the returning influence on the souls is a simple mechanism that we study in the book The Study of the Ten Sefirot.
