The Dollar Today Is Dead, The U.S. Bankrupt

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Giulietto Chiesa, former Italian Politician and Member of the European Parliament): “We are at the beginning of the transition period, which has no precedents in history.

“Today it’s clear that the development within a closed system of resources is impossible: The world has reached the limits of development. Coal, oil, and uranium—all resources of the planet are almost exhausted, and it is only a matter of time before they finally run out. Everything that we are accustomed to will change. The civilization of money will be gone.

“This is a truly global crisis, …which includes the energy crisis. Today we use more water than nature can give us. We produce waste that cannot be recycled. We have changed the course of nature.

“We need to understand that the old democracy is dying. In Europe, half of the population does not go to the polls… It’s necessary to create a new system of representation, and this movement must come from below, under the banner of restraining oneself and one’s lifestyle. We need a cultural, organizational, and political revolution.

“This is not about the starving. But even those who could limit themselves do not think about this because we are manipulated, we are duped! People are turned into instruments of buying. Television tells us 24 hours a day what to buy, that our scale of values is purchasing power.

“We need to nationalize the media because they form the fundamental rights of people and cannot be privatized. It is necessary to nationalize the banks that issue money. We are losing control over money.

“We are the citizens of states. The heads of several leading banks are respectable criminals, more influential than any politicians because they have the real power of money.” (Source: dozor.kharkov.ua)

“Do you agree with the thesis that the main threat to the planet comes from China? ‘No, the biggest source of danger today – it’s New York, Wall Street, and the United States. The dollar today is dead, the U.S. – bankrupt. But they are – bankrupt and well-armed. … The economic attacks against Greece and Ireland are provoked only in order to reduce the sovereignty of the European currency and Europe as a whole. Why is the euro stronger today than the dollar – at least because EU debt is lower than the United States’.’” (Source: rosbalt.ru)

My Comment: More and more people begin to realize that the future is only possible within the framework of the economy of reasonable (necessary) consumption, in complete similarity and balance with nature, in the unity of all people according to the principle of mutual guarantee. We are approaching the point about which Kabbalists talked thousands of years ago.

The Lehman Brothers Effect

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Pavel Andreyev, managing director of foreign exchange markets, Broker Credit Service, from vedomisti.ru): “If Greece decides to leave the euro zone, the effect will be the same as from its default—all the creditors will have holes in their balances, the growth of inflation will accelerate, and credit, consumer, and investment activity will drop severely.

“European banks are now experiencing a liquidity shortage since Europe is going through a trust crisis. …Banks of France are especially weak today because they hold the majority of Greek stocks.

“Due to the European foreign affairs intrigues, the decision will be to ‘throw them under a bus,’ as it happened in 2008 with Lehman Brothers.

“The collapse of one large European bank will cause a chain reaction of default.

“Inflation will be out of control, the cost of gold will reach a new historical peak. The picture will be completed with a panic of the population. …And this will be a full-blown crisis, and recovery can take months, and possibly years.”

My Comment: This is not the way things are going to be: Everything will go in the direction of the discovery of the meaning of the crisis and its correction. After all, the plan of nature (the Creator) is to uncover the purpose of its development, to bring humanity to a single system called “Adam.” Economists and leaders will have to learn how to work in a new system of absolute interconnection called “Arvut (mutual guarantee).”

We Need Unity, And It Is Not There

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion: (Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission): “The debt crisis continues to deepen as the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso acknowledged in his annual State of the Union address.

“‘Today we are facing the greatest challenge that this Union has ever had to face throughout its history. This is a financial crisis, an economic crisis, a social crisis but also a confidence crisis towards our leaders.’

“Barroso warned Europe’s leaders they must work more closely together to prevent the 27-member bloc falling apart.

“‘I really believe that we are today at a crucial point in our history, a moment when if we don’t go forward with integration we are at risk of fragmentation. It’s about political will, a crucial test for our generation, and I am telling you, yes, it is possible to get out of this crisis.’

“Many believe Greece must leave the euro zone for that to happen, but Barroso disagrees. He urged the ECB to ‘do whatever it takes’ to sort out the crisis. He called for a quicker introduction of a permanent bailout fund and more efficient use of the capital already in the current fund.”

Opinion: (Guy Verhofstadt, a Belgian politician, a Member of the European Parliament): “…we must put in place a real economic government in Europe to manage economic and fiscal policies. A senior member of the commission should be appointed as a Europe-wide finance minister, who in turn will lead eurozone economic policy and chair regular sessions of the eurogroup – not just a couple of summits a year.”

My Comment: Europe will become impoverished not because of its fight with the financial crisis, but because it doesn’t strive for unification. They hope that this state, which they call the crisis, will pass like a wave. We are beginning a new stage of the development of society, the whole point of which is the total unity of all people in one desire, thought, and feeling, which is what a single body feels itself like.

Nature will push us to this condition with all its forces, which will be manifested exactly where we should have begun to correct ourselves, but are not correcting. That is, the forces that compel us to change are the qualities that we did not correct in time. Had we corrected them, we would have felt ourselves not under the negative, but under the positive influence of nature (circumstances).

World Hunger Help Is Failing

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Euronews): “Painfully hungry every day – the latest World Disasters Report takes a hard look at why nearly a billion people live like this, when there is enough food being produced to feed everyone.

“The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) says further that more people are going hungry in cities and in high-income countries.

“The Disasters Report says the first of the UN Millennium Development Goals probably will not be achieved by 2015: that is halving the proportion of people suffering from extreme hunger and poverty.

“The underfed now number some 925 million worldwide, according to the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation. Three million under-fives die from not getting enough to eat every year.

“Undernutrition stunts the growth of an estimated 178 million children under the age of five. The handicap begins from conception — while the infant is still inside the mother — when she is not adequately fed. And of all the world’s undernourished people, six out of ten are female.

“The causes of food crises, the IFRC report says, include speculation and global market fluctuation affecting prices.”

My Comment: The reason is a lack of mutual guarantee and responsibility, a lack of community feeling of everyone on Earth, that is, our egoism, or rather the fact that without fighting it and in spite of it, we do not build a connection between us—the screen that would connect us and in which we would discover the property of bestowal, the property of Nature. Achieving this property would give us strength and ability to establish a fair connection and distribution, and everyone would have everything in abundance.

Do Not Separate, But Unite

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (George Soros, billionaire investor): ”Europe’s debt crisis risks triggering another Great Depression unless euro zone leaders adopt a series of radical policy measures, including the creation of a common treasury.

“‘There is no alternative but to give birth to the missing ingredient: a European treasury with the power to tax and therefore to borrow.’

“‘The German public still thinks that it has a choice about whether to support the euro or to abandon it. That is a mistake,’ he writes.

“‘The euro exists and the assets and liabilities of the financial system are so intermingled on the basis of a common currency that a breakdown of the euro would cause a meltdown beyond the capacity of the authorities to contain.’

“‘The longer it takes for the German public to realize this, the heavier the price they and the rest of the world will have to pay.'”

My Comment: It is not a solution because all the problems are revealed to us only to force us to unite into a single whole. Soros proposes not the correction of society, which is what nature requires from us, but the elimination of nature’s pressure. In this case, we will get more pressure, in the form of a greater crisis (perhaps in a different place and form).

Australia Warns Europe Not To ‘Muck’ About

In the News: “The inability of European leading countries to find the way out of economic crisis seems to have become irritating even to the places most remote from the Old World. The official representatives of Australia sharply criticized the EU leaders, accusing them of empty talk and finally called them to take effective measures.” (Source: rg.ru)

“Australia on Monday accused European leaders of ‘mucking’ about for 18 months, and being on a ‘never-ending journey of just seeking to muddle through’ as they struggle to contain eurozone debt issues.

“Treasurer Wayne Swan, who has repeatedly called on Europe to resolve the issue before it damages global growth, said he was frustrated at the pace of efforts and urged a resolution at a meeting set for Wednesday.

“‘This has been going on for 18 months, and it is true that they have been mucking around for 18 months,’ he told ABC Radio.

“‘We do need to see a comprehensive set of plans, and if we don’t see those, we will see a protracted recession in Europe and the obvious implications of that for the rest of the global economy.’

“Swan’s comments were supported by Prime Minister Julia Gillard who warned Europe had been ‘living beyond its means’ and had so far only adopted half-hearted measures to address structural issues.

“‘For the sake of the global economy they need to get this fixed,’ she told The Australian newspaper.

“‘What the fix looks like is in the first instance a matter for them. But it must be fixed.'” (Source: business.inquirer.com)

IMF Lacks The Resources To Tackle The Crisis

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from BBC News): “The IMF says it will take decisive action to tackle the eurozone debt crisis and support the global economy.

“However, the communique, issued during a meeting between G20 finance ministers, the IMF and the World Bank, did not give specifics on whether extra funds would be available to the global fund.

“‘Advanced economies will ensure that banks have strong capital positions and access to adequate funding,’ said the communique.”

My Comment: If financiers and economists understood that nature prepared the only option—the economy of reasonable consumption, they would only have to bring their economic and financial systems in compliance with this requirement of our evolution. However, since they do not know and do not wish to know that yet, their attempts to act using old methods will cost us a lot of unnecessary suffering.

Opinion: (Alexander Chumakov, professor of philosophy, from socionauki.ru): “‘Globalization began with the era of great discoveries. From the beginning of 19th century to the middle of the 20th century, globalization has taken over all areas of social life. The world has turned into a whole economic and political system.

“‘There has been an information revolution going on since 1980s, and now no area of social activity can be considered separately. From this moment the world represents a complete system with the financial area being its part.

“‘Past economical crises, including the Great Depression of 1929–1933, were of regional character, whereas now the crisis is a world crisis. …But having become a complete system, the modern world hasn’t yet received an adequate government, and this is the main contradiction of a global world. We cannot expect a quick solution to this problem because universal values are missing, and the international law is too far from being completed by the universal law, which is essential for the existence of a global government. The G8 or even G20 are not enough to solve the given problem.

“‘This is where the financial crisis comes from: It is only the beginning if a systemic world crisis, which can sometimes calm down or intensify, but it cannot end without the main contradiction of the modern epoch being solved.’

Professor V. Kuvaldin: ‘The crisis we are experiencing is neither a financial nor an economic crisis. This is the first systemic crisis. Financial and economic difficulties are merely the forms of its manifestations. The modern economic crisis takes its roots in the nineteenth century… But a stable version of globalization was forming from 1960 to 1990. This was an American project. The crisis has showed that the world cannot continue to develop this way. It will be changing.’

Professor K. Barlybayev: ‘From the point of view of the government theory, the need for a world government is a matter of a subjective opinion. Objectively, …people are forced to govern the world in spite of their desires. A world government will be created when needed, even though the government leaders do not wish to have government agencies on top of them. But there will be no humanity without a world government.’”

The Weakness Of The Powerful

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Today you published research results that discovered a nucleus of 147 leading world corporations that are tightly intertwined with one another, support each other, and to many, epitomize the notion of globalization in its negative sense, as those who hog the power over the world. Should anything change in this regard as a result of our unification?

Answer: I don’t think that the leaders of these corporations were smart enough to incite such a plan. Nature was pulling the strings, and it brought them to the current situation. Man does not choose anything here. He is simply driven by the egoistic desire, which develops to global proportions.

In reality the matter is not confined to 147 companies. If we make a truly deep and precise calculation, then we probably won’t find anything beyond this network. However, its “above-water” aspect, which connects everyone, can be imagined in this way.

On the other hand, there is a significant problem concealed here, which the big players are discovering today. The immense scope and interconnection with others gives them power, but at the same time, enormous weakness. After all, they are “tied together” and cannot do anything. None of them is able to budge a millimeter. The threads between them became ties that are impossible to escape.

Thus, it turns out that instead of providing anyone with power, the global network rules by itself, fully and entirely. The world is no longer able to break this connection, and as a result, it cannot change it in order to improve its situation in any way. No summits will improve the situation with the help of any means at their disposal. After all, these means are no longer effective, which is what we are seeing over the course of recent years.

The world leaders are powerless. In this situation the global network compels them to be idle because the regular methods—both economic and military force—do not help. Pour money into banks, change the dictators—nothing will help. The world is now governed by this network, and its movement cannot be stopped.

The only thing that can be done is to take care of people’s upbringing, about inner movements. It is necessary to change the quality of the “matter” that is connected by the threads of this network. You can’t change the network by itself, but you can improve the quality of its constituent parts, and then their connection will improve. That is the only way the entire system can be lifted to the level of interaction and prosperity.

This will already be something new, completely different from what the people in power had in mind. However, this will provide us with life. Otherwise the network will begin to kill those who are in it. The world has to understand that there is just one opportunity, just one approach to the modern problems: to take care of people’s worldview, to raise their consciousness, their moral level. Then their connection, which envelops their network, rises from negative, egoistic and protectionist, to unity, cohesion, and mutual guarantee.

All other plans won’t help. Moreover, the new upbringing should be conducted by people with a point in the heart, who attract the Light that reforms. Otherwise nothing will work. In the current conditions, only one clear and narrow direction for actions will work.
