More Severe Punishments Won’t Make Things Better

More Severe Punishment Will Only Make Things WorseNews Story: Missouri Governor Calls For Capital Punishment For Child Rapists

“Missouri Governor Matt Blunt demanded child rapists face capital punishment, at a news conference outside the St. Louis County Courthouse Monday. Hours later, lawmakers moved to make Missouri the 7th state to expand the death penalty for crimes beyond first degree murder.”

My Comment: The world is becoming more and more egoistic, and things aren’t getting any better. We keep looking for an answer in our egoism, our current situation, and this is pointless. Violence as a method of controlling violence is doomed to fail! I’m reading news stories everyday on how punishments are becoming more severe all the time. Violence is simply the stupidest means for correcting society, and only allows more and more dirt to fill it. The only way to save ourselves from any kind of violence is to rise above egoism, period.

Bans on Occult Advertising

Bans on Occult AdvertisingNews Story: Lawmakers Press for Bans on Occult Ads

“Fearing for the ’health of the nation,’ lawmakers are trying to curb the amount of occult advertising in the media. A new bill slated for its first hearing in May hopes to ban advertising for healers, witches and anyone offering occult services without proper registration.

‘People are going to these healers who don’t have a license, who don’t have any right to practice,’ Petr Polonitsky, an aide to Duma deputy Vladimir Medinsky, one of the lawmakers behind the initiative, told The Moscow News ’We warn people that this is fraud, but they still go.’”

My Comment: On the one hand, this new bill calls for an applause, but on the other hand, it would be better if such advertisements were everywhere, so people would realize sooner that nothing will help them and that all problems stem from our egoistic nature. We will then start referring to our egoistic desires as Yetzer ha Ra (evil inclinations), because they make us feel bad. Moreover, we’ll want to replace them with desires that make us feel good, Yetzer ha Tov – desires to love and bestow. We’ll reach such an understanding either through suffering or through Ohr Makif – the Light (Ohr is Hebrew for “Light”) that descends while studying Kabbalah.

How Can We Save the World?

How Can We Save the World?News Story: Earth’s Ozone Would Be Largely Destroyed in Nuclear Conflict

“According to a new study published in the magazine ‘Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences,’ A nuclear war involving 100 Hiroshima-size bombs would open a massive hole in the earth’s ozone layer, exposing life to dangerous levels of the sun’s rays.

Smoke caused by the atomic explosions would trap heat in the stratosphere and lead to the deterioration of more than 20 percent of ozone globally.”

My Comment: We have shifted the world’s balance to its very edge, when even the smallest violation of nature’s laws will lead to an avalanche of downfalls in all various spheres of our activity. I don’t believe in human reason’s ability to get us out of this tension. Rather, I believe in the opportunity to aspire toward our correction and as such, attract the positive forces from above, which will repair our situation. To this end, the quality of voices is more important than their quantity. A handful of people aspiring to correction can bring about a change in the Upper Governance of our world. That is why I keep repeating myself. Some of you seem to think that I’m trying to frighten you with scary stories, and it’s a shame that the message I want to get across is so often misunderstood. So again, here is the main message I want to get across: “Let’s work together and think of how we can discover everyone’s interconnection in the common soul of Adam, which is filled with the Upper Light of eternity and peace.”

Abortion – How Does Kabbalah View It?

Abortion - How Does Kabbalah View It?How does Kabbalah view abortion? Abortion is opposed to natural development, and as such, causes imbalance with nature. It is physically and spiritually harmful, and if we sensed nature, we wouldn’t do it.

Horrible Manifestations of the Ever-Growing Egoism

Horrible Manifestations of the Ever-Growing EgoismA question I received: Newspapers are full of reports about a mother having sexual relations with her two sons, allegedly to spite her husband. The 38 year old resident of Netivot, Israel was arrested on suspicion of having sexual relations with her two sons. She said that she did it to spite her husband, whom she is divorcing.

Lately we’ve been hearing about many cases of mothers raping their children. Why is this happening now, and with mothers? After all, a woman’s love for her children is the most natural, pure, real, and essential feeling! So what is making mothers abuse their children so cruelly?

My Answer: Egoism is assuming these horrible forms because we should have started correcting it on the mass scale a long time ago. The time of correction began with the Ari, and Baal Shem Tov also tried to achieve this by spreading Chassidut in Eastern Europe.

Egoism has grown beyond the boundaries of the natural, animate level, and is manifesting in a supernatural form, in order to force us to reject it and instead adopt bestowal and love. Unless we realize this and start correcting ourselves by studying Kabbalah (i.e. acquire a basic understanding of nature, life, and the world), then in the near future we will face even uglier manifestations of egoism, such that the world has never seen.

The More You Know, the Better You Sleep

The More You Know, the Better You SleepA recent telephone survey of almost eleven hundred Americans, conducted by scientists from the Texas A&M University, shows that “the more informed respondents both feel less personally responsible for global warming, and also show less concern for global warming” (Risk Analysis, Vol.28, Issue 1, Feb 08). Oddly enough, the more actively the media publicizes the problem, the less concerned people become. It looks like our society is asking professionals to solve this global-scale problem, and not disturb regular people with cries of imminent disaster.

Also, other than achieving personal comfort, what else can you expect from your regular Joe? If there truly are disasters coming our way, then it’s not like anyone’s offering any solutions for them. Such conditions create a need for Kabbalah, which is capable of preventing nature’s blows. Therefore, it is essential to spread this method throughout the world, no matter how desperate the conditions may become.

You know, the people of Israel didn’t really want to flee Egypt (egoism), and this is precisely what Nature is pushing us toward. Moses was practically all alone in this endeavor. Prior to his arrival from Itro, his father in law, and until he started agitating Pharoah, which is egoism, nobody was even thinking of escaping from such egoism. Everything that Torah speaks of will also happen to us, and in exactly the same way.

The Solution to the Clash of Civilizations

The Solution to the Clash of CivilizationsThe threat of a geo-political catastrophe, brought about by the clash of the Christian and Muslim civilizations, forces each of them to guard itself by preventing the other’s expansion. The rational West and the irrational East consider each other wrong, and are unwilling to understand one another. The East does not accept the ideas of the Western civilization (democracy, equality, and freedom) as coming from man. They understand them as coming from the Creator. Islam believes that the Koran dictates the world’s proper structure, and that only the Muslims are a nation of God. In the Muslim world, politics and religion are united, and hence even a purely political change is perceived as a threat to their religion and way of life. Salvation lies in complementing one another, rather than eliminating each other. But it’s impossible to achieve this, so there’s no solution!

According to Kabbalah, the Creator’s governance is realized in three lines:
1. Abraham – the right line,
2. Isaac – the left line, and
3. Jacob – the middle line.

Klipat Abraham is Ishmael (Islam), and Klipat Isaac is Esau (Christianity). There’s also a Klipa of the middle line, of Israel – those who oppose “faith above reason” or “Lishma.”

The clash of the right and the left lines is inevitable, and they can only be reconciled by the middle line – by Jacob (Katnut, or “the small state”), or Israel (or, “the large state”). Put differently, only the spreading of Kabbalah in the world can bring the world to peace, conciliation and tranquility. Otherwise, what lies ahead is the fall of the Western and the Eastern civilizations. The only remedy for this world is to understand that it’s necessary to attain love for one’s neighbor in order to attain adhesion with the Creator, eternity, and perfection.

Who’s the Judge?

Who’s the Judge?A recent study shows that more than 1 in 100 American adults are behind bars – the highest incarceration rate in the world. Prison-related expenses are six times greater than those relating to the maintenance of universities.

My Response: It looks like there’s only one way out – to change social norms so as to reduce the amount of prisoners. If we can’t make such a correction, then we’ll have to pretend as if everything is okay. However, the evolution of egoism will eventually force us to adjust our civil and criminal codes, and every other code we have as well.

Is there a Higher Court for this?

My Article on Ynetnews – A Kabbalistic Interpretation of the Economic Crisis

My Article on Ynetnews - A Kabbalistic Interpretation of the Economic CrisisMy article on the ego being the reason behind the global economic crisis was featured today (in Hebrew) on the Ynetnews site. Here’s its translation into English:

A Kabbalistic Interpretation of the Economic Crisis

The ego driving us to increase profits at each other’s expense is in complete contradiction to the balance between nature’s elements, which is vital to nature’s harmonious existence.

The events surrounding the American and global economy prove that this time it’s serious – the global economy is in a deep crisis. What is causing this crazy turbulence and how can the erosion be curbed? Kabbalah provides an explanation along with suggestions for solving the crisis.

Just as with any social system, interdependency is the name of the game. Crises where one element “infects” others and brings the market to the verge of collapse, are part of the signs of economic globalization. This is why we are seeing credit and real estate bubbles in the U.S. bursting and bringing about an infectious collapse of the stock exchange, in banks, companies and hedge funds all over the world.

Having said that, trying to solve economic crises using known models is destined to fail. It turns out that the economic system cannot be controlled or accurately predicted, and that one move in one place of the world causes serious repercussions in other places.

The wisdom of Kabbalah claims that if we understand the laws working on nature and abide by them, we can fortify our understanding of what the future holds, and possibly prevent the next crash. [Read more →]
