Unemployment In The EU Reached Record Levels

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from BBC News): “Unemployment across countries that use the Euro edged higher in February to 10.8%. That’s up from 10.7% in January and the highest level since the introduction of the single currency in 1999. Spain has the highest rate of 23.6%.

“Meanwhile, a separate report confirmed that manufacturing activity in Europe shrank in February. …

“France was particularly weak, with manufacturing activity falling to the lowest level in almost three years. …

“Finance ministers will hope that an agreement to increase the size of the eurozone’s rescue fund will help bolster sentiment.”

My Comment: When decisions are deadlocked, there is no other solution but war as it has always been in the past. In order to prevent an impasse, a massive outreach is required to explain the solution to the crisis through integral education. Human egoism is the cause of the crisis, and it must be corrected from individual to integral.

Either Integration Or Defeat

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Marc-Olivier Padis, editor-in-chief of Esprit): “The difficulties in Europe lie in the fact that now it must unite even more, but it is almost impossible because of the distrust of the population. Today, either the integration will be deeper, or we are threatened with total defeat.”

My Comment: Everything is correct, except that there are no means of integration in our world because to do this we need to replace egoism with bestowal, hatred with love, and this is possible only through the method of integral education.

Head Of WHO: “The End Of Modern Medicine As We Know It”

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Margaret Chan, head of the World Health Organisation): “Margaret Chan, director general of the WHO, warned that bacteria were starting to become so resistant to common antibiotics that it could bring about ‘the end of modern medicine as we know it.’

“As a result, she claimed, every antibiotic ever developed is at risk of becoming useless, making once-routine operations impossible.

“This would include many of the breakthrough drugs developed to treat tuberculosis, malaria, bacterial infections and HIV/AIDS, as well as simple treatments for cuts.

“Speaking to a conference of infectious disease experts in Copenhagen, Dr Chan said we could be entering into a ‘post-antibiotic era.’…

“Dr Chan said: ‘Things as common as strep throat or a child’s scratched knee could once again kill.

“‘Antimicrobial resistance is on the rise in Europe and elsewhere in the world. We are losing our first-line antimicrobials.

“‘Replacement treatments are more costly, more toxic, need much longer durations of treatment, and may require treatment in intensive care units.

“‘For patients infected with some drug-resistant pathogens, mortality has been shown to increase by around 50 per cent.

“‘A post-antibiotic era means, in effect, an end to modern medicine as we know it.’…

“A crisis has been building up over the decades, so that today many common and life-threatening infections are becoming difficult or even impossible to treat, sometimes turning a common infection into a life-threatening one.”

My Comment: It is not for nothing, the crisis is called total and global. It is not only around the globe, but it affects the whole of human activity because it stems from our egoistic attitude towards society and the world. However, as soon as we begin to treat ourselves and nature wisely, we will bring all issues, including disease, into balance.

“Recent Generations Focus More on Fame, Money Than Giving Back”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (Jean Twenge, PhD, a psychology professor at San Diego State University, from American Psychological Association): “The times are changing, and not necessarily for the better when it comes to giving back to society, according to 40 years of research on 9 million young adults. Since the baby boomer generation, there has been a significant decline among young Americans in political participation, concern for others and interest in saving the environment, according to a new study published by the American Psychological Association.

“‘Popular views of the millennial generation, born in the 1980s and 1990s, as more caring, community-oriented and politically engaged than previous generations are largely incorrect, particularly when compared to baby boomers and Generation X at the same age,” said the study’s lead author, Jean Twenge, PhD, a psychology professor at San Diego State University and author of the book, ‘Generation Me.’ ‘These data show that recent generations are less likely to embrace community mindedness and are focusing more on money, image and fame.’”

“The same trend is observed In Russia: Romanticism, which was noticed 10 years ago, vanished, people want clarity, which is primarily associated with their material conditions. When a person sets in front of himself only economic goals, he becomes one-dimensional and easily manageable.” (Source: rbcdaily.ru)

My Comment: That is why in a state of crisis it is easier for the authorities to manage people, but under the condition that the authorities can manage the crisis. But when the desire for wealth is not supported by its realization, the authorities are blamed. Isn’t it better to start raising generations in the spirit of yearning for different values?

“Chinese Economy Already In ‘Hard Landing’”

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Adrian Mowat, JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s chief Asian and emerging-market strategist): “China’s economy is already in a so-called ‘hard landing,’ according to Adrian Mowat….

“‘If you look at the Chinese data, you should stop debating about a hard landing…China is in a hard landing. Car sales are down, cement production is down, steel production is down, construction stocks are down. It’s not a debate anymore, it’s a fact.’…

“‘What you can look forward to is to see a pickup in property demand that will clear up the inventory; that doesn’t appear likely,’ Mowat said in an interview after the conference yesterday. ‘I don’t see any evidence of a policy move that will cause the economy to re-accelerate.’”

My Comment: The crisis will affect the entire world and will not subside; instead, its waves will force us to realize the need for internal restructuring, a new attitude towards ourselves, society, and nature, all the way up to full integration. Asia, as the largest and most energetic continent, will feel the crisis more than the EU and the USA.
